Worst dealership experience I've ever had. I'm writing this so other buyers know to be extremely careful before doing business here. During my purchase, the salesman made repeated mistakes with the paperwork -- not once, not twice, but over four different times. Multiple documents were printed with someone else's name on them while my address was listed, and I was asked to sign them. I had to stop the process several times and point it out. My significant other was with me and personally witnessed these mistakes happening multiple times as well, so it wasn't just a one-time mix-up. At one point the salesman even shrugged and said, "Oh, you don't have to worry about signing that one." That's extremely concerning when we're talking about legal documents and personal identification. This kind of carelessness could easily lead to someone signing something with the wrong identity if they aren't paying close attention. Buyers should NEVER be put in that situation. On top of that, professionalism was extremely low. Two salesmen were smoking a device in front of customers while handling deals. It honestly made me question whether they were fully focused or impaired while processing important paperwork. When you're purchasing a car, these documents involve financing, identity, and thousands of dollars. Sales staff should not be making repeated mistakes involving someone else's information. Important advice for anyone buying a car: Double-check every single document before signing. Make sure your name and information are correct on every page. If I hadn't been paying attention, I could have signed paperwork with another person's identification on it. My beloved 2014 C250 finally gave out, so I needed a replacement. I had planned to get the same make model and year, but my wife wisely convinced me a newer one would last longer. I decided to try a different brand and settled on a used Audi A4. I called the Oakland Audi dealer first and confirmed they had one, but when I arrived it wasn't actually in their inventory. Next, I visited Audi San Jose. The car and salesman (Mick) were great, but it lacked the features I wanted: adaptive cruise control and lane assist (there was a 2019 and my feature came out in 2022). I saw a listing on CarGuru.com and texted to ask about those features. Toan from United Imports called me back and I liked him right away. The car in the listing didn't have the features, but he found a newer model that did within my budget. I couldn't visit immediately because of my kids' sports schedule. Toan promised to hold it until the end of the month (bonus points for him). When I finally visited, Toan gave me the keys for a test drive and the car was exactly what I wanted. The pricing was straightforward without any games. We completed the paperwork at his desk in about 30 minutes while I crushed the container of licorice on his desk and my son devoured their popcorn. I drove home in my new (used) car 30 minutes late. The dealership was clean, the process was simple, and Toan's communication made the experience comfortable. I knew what kind of car I wanted and was looking for a the best deal at various dealerships. I browsed United Imports online website and found they had the exact car in the exact color I wanted and it had only 12 miles. This car was basically new and it was a good deal and in perfect condition. The car was a 2024 compact SUV sport trim so it had all the features I wanted and more (blind spot monitoring, rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane assist, seat warmers, CarPlay, antitheft gps device, etc). The car was $25,999. Other used cars of the same make and model and year were slightly more expensive (about $27,000) and none had as low mileage as the one at United imports. I saw the car online a hour before they closed and I texted Rodrigo for confirmation that it was still available. I had received his card from a close friend who recently purchased a car from him as well. Once he confirmed the car was still available (responded to me within 10min) we immediately went to the dealership. We arrived 45min before closing, but he was there waiting outside for us. He was easily reachable and very straightforwardly and easy to talk to. He stayed late that day for me and I came home with exactly what I wanted. Although I didn't really browse their entire collection I quickly noticed from just glancing around at the lot that they had a great wide selection of vehicles and even my sister showed interest in some of their inventory and sat in some cars. Although she didn't buy because she's not in the market for a car she did love looking at their selection and said several times "wow this is a great deal" I definitely recommend United Imports and Rodrigo! read more

My previous comment was made at the desk of Samson after purchasing my car and being asked to review. After all this time, I haven't received my refund for the Stargard Services that were never installed on my car. They charged me $995 for the Stargard System. On the contract, it says it would be installed within 30 days of the car being purchased. It never was. Samson has said the refund is processing but no follow through. I personally had to repeatedly reach out for an update, then got ghosted by this salesman. It's almost been a year since the purchase and I'm still waiting for the refund that was supposedly initiated in April 2024. I was fraudulently charged for a service that I never received and they are lacking in communication regarding the return of these funds. At this point, I'd say STAY CLEAR from this dealer. They're liars and only care about about they're bottom line. Very disappointing as my first purchase back in 2018 went great. read more

I don't care how small the lie, when they take no consideration to the ramifications and do anything to make the sale. Maybe the car you want is fine, but you better take it to a 3rd party inspector and absolutely don't take anything they say at face value. The sales representative Samson was pushy and rude. Claimed that someone was Intrested in the vehicle I wanted and that if I didn't buy it they would. I was there for unnecessary four hours supposedly getting the car ready. The car didn't even start they had to jump it. They don't detail cars they just clean visible areas. Not a good experience. Saturday we test drove a car. We did not like the fact you have to pay $495 extra for some kind of paint guard and $995 for stargard gps tracker pre installed. But we liked the car. Before we left Issak told us he can take car of the paint protection fee and waive it. So on Sunday we reached out we are ready to buy the car if he can take out the stargard gps as well as we don't want it. He offered to give to us at cost for $300 but can't deinstall it. I agreed in written and we had a deal. On Monday I'm to come to sign the paperwork. Guess what, $400 for the paint guard is back on the bill. I told United import that is not what has been agreed on Saturday and he should told us on Sunday when he offered the stargard for $300 that this eliminates the free paint guard offer from the day before. That would have been acceptable. We don't care about a few hundred dollars more or less but we care about dealers with integrity who stay to what has been verbally and in written been agreed. read more

We came to this dealership from Berkeley to buy a specific car we had been looking for. When we got there Horacio Lopez approached us and offered assistance. He was ok in the beginning but a bit hesitant to truly help us with our purchase. A few times he told us to look at the car and that he'd wait inside. We had to wait for him to come back out to ask for a test drive. While Horacio was being a bit relaxed, like we weren't going to purchase the car, I was already set on buying the car- we had a loan pre-approved by a credit union and we had done our research. So we sat down with him to do the paperwork. This is when things got worse. Horacio continued to have a nonchalant attitude towards us, like we were there to buy a pair of shoes. Then he began to ask information that was irrelevant to our purchase. He then asked my husband to about 3 different ways for his monthly income, it seemed like he didn't believe him. I asked him why he was asking this information & he stated he was going to run my husbands credit. I asked him why he was about to run our credit without our permission. He tried to justify what he was doing and none of it made sense. We had a loan already and the down payment. More importantly I could not believe he tried to run our credit without our consent and was rude about it when we asked him what he was doing. It was that point that I walked out. Not only was he the worst car salesman I've worked with but what he attempted to do was out of line. Thankfully I have experience purchasing cars. To all first time car owners please know your rights & if not take someone with you who does. Unless you're asking a car dealership for a loan through them you DO NOT have to consent to a credit check- which will negatively impact your score. Also, they need your consent to run your credit. The nicest person there was the man who was detailing the cars, I wish we would have asked for his name. read more

Don't go here with a pre-approved loan from your bank/credit union. They won't sell you the car and tell you they don't accept it with some kind of new rule. My loan agent spoke to the sales person directly because they have never heard of anything like that. I have an approved loan with a rate of 2.4% and they said they can't accept it and would have to go with their finance company with a higher rate. They wouldn't even accept to take a check to buy the car outright. Person also said that rates nowadays are based off the vehicle model regardless of year LMFAO. I gave the vin to my loan agent and their DMV person looked up the car and turned out that it still had a lien on it. They didn't even have the title at hand. I can see why they wanted to sell the car on their terms. So my advice is, if you have bad credit. Go here, cause they'll be happy to give you a high rate so they can make money on the loan. read more
