I was in line and the guy walked off for lunch and I had to sit there almost 2.5 hrs for a passport because he was the only one who could do it. I had an appointment too! Physically going to a local post office for anything other than US Passport stuff seems about as common as hopping in your family's Oldsmobile wood paneled station Wagon and heading to Circuit City to check out some new HiFi equipment. Okay, maybe that was a bit of a stretch, but seriously, I'm 45 years old, have 19 YO kids, with the usual house, cars, mortgage, etc yet I haven't set foot in a PO for what seems like a decade. It's like it's own little time capsule in a way. Anyway, at this Henderson post office on Boulder Highway is obviously an older facility but the staff is surprisingly, well, at least somewhat, friendly. More importantly, they are all competent, fairly quick, and definitely efficient. The average customer, on the other hand, is another story. Think about it, the line at the post office is filled with people that found it necessary to GO INSIDE A POST OFFICE. Hence, individual transactions at the windows often take significantly longer than they really should because many of the customers are a bit slow, inept, confused, or just retired and bored. I went to the post office because I had to mail a small parcel to a family member in a foreign country and I let my Stamps.com membership expire long ago. Honestly, I don't see myself going there again any time soon, but if I really need to, I wouldn't have a problem returning to this vintage piece of boring Americana. read more

What is wrong with this post office? Everything is broken!! The walk up door says closed go inside to teller. The AC is broken its hot AF with a giant fan blowing on customers in line. The wooden bench to sit on is disgusting. Everything is dirty. The parcel drop box is broken. The automated self serve system is not working. The decorative mailers are completely out of stock. Terrible service! From never answering the phone parcel lockers that are too hard to open and missing packages.

I needed to mail out my Christmas flat rate boxes & I dreaded going to the post office. The one by my house is ALWAYS busy no matter what time of the year. Going to the post office is liking going to the DMV. Long waits. I happened to be at my dentist one day & had asked them if there was a post office close by & they told me about this one. I had asked if they thought it might be just & they said no. It was about 0900 on a week day. I of course used Yelp's GPS to get me there easily. To my surprise the parking lot wasn't really busy & when I walked into the post office I had the automatic machine all to myself. Could this be true? It is out of service?!?!? To my surprise it wasn't & it was waiting for someone to come on over & touch it! That person was me!!! Me!! $100 & 5 boxes later I was all done & ready to head out. Took me about 7 minutes. I'm a pro @ this machine. I was soooo happy that I left my boxes in my trunk & remembered to inquire about a post office over on this side of town. Such a relief to get that off my "To Do List" & just in time before Christmas. Sad thing is it was "2" day shipping & some of them took longer. When I was leaving the post office I looked into the main area & saw a small line of customers waiting for their turn with a live person. I don't want to share my secret about the "self serve" machine with too many people because then there may be long lines to come! lol I definitely will keep this location in mind since my work & dentist is on this side of town & will be more then happy to use it again when needed. Horrible post office. Our mail is always lost even though informed delivery shows mail. Our box was supposedly vandalized and we've had the misfortune of waiting in long lines and then told there's no mail! There's something very shady going on here. There's also only two employees taking care of customers even though the line is 20 plus deep. Rude employees as well! I would give it 0 stars if I could. website says they take walkins on mondays starting at 9 for passports I got there at 830 along with a few other people. once they opened we were ignored for almost an hr. they wouldn't answer if they were doing passports they just ignored us. I asked the supervisor he said someone named corinthia would be helping us. Another 30 min go by finally her rude lazy a$$ walks out and tells us appointments only. Except we were all walkins which I think she knew! People had taken off of school and work!!!! There was only 4 of us so if there is no appointments why could she not help anyone? I asked for the supervisor again we told him we had been asking and kept being told for over an hr that we would be helped and then she says no. He said he would see what he could do and then went in the back and hid!!!!! Worst customer service ever. Corinthia should be fired immediately she's lazy and rude and just didn't want to do passports because it takes more work!!!! I don't know her last name but her 1st is corinthia she's African American and very lazy and very heavy set. she should not have that job if she can't even help 4 people! I occasionally drop off mail & use their one rate priority boxes to send mail to family and friends. I use the Post office on Lake Mead Blvd in North Las Vegas. Oscar , I would personally like to thank as he is always out in the front answering questions & helping mail patrons get their business done quickly. I have been fortunate to use his services a number of times & he has been a big help assisting me thru the system. Always friendly & pleasant! I usually dread the post office but my last few visits have been more pleasant. This post office has all you need to mail letters and boxes, purchase stamps, passport services and more. There is also a machine so you can skip the line and mail your own package which is what I usually do. As long as you make an appointment and come prepared for the passport or renewal, everything is pretty smooth. They even take photos there which is convenient. It only takes about 5 minutes for everything. The flat rate boxes are right up in front and easy to assemble and send off. As long as you can cram whatever you are mailing inside the box, it's a flat rate, hence the name. read more

The gentleman at the intake counter was very friendly and helpful and had great spirits. Line was pretty short for this time of the year- 2 days before Christmas. When we were leaving a man came up to me and handed me a nice Peacoat and said he'd rather give his wife's items to someone than to the Goodwill.
