They look like I played in dirt then glitter glue. While asking questions during the process ( why air brush vs polish) I got crappy excuses and ultimately became so frustrated there was no point. Danny was my nail tech today. I called ahead of time to make my appt and he kept getting up to check people in and rushed our appt. He cut 2 of my fingers and made them bleed. It really saddens me to write this review. This shop is in a very convenient location in Auburn and super clean and has everything you would expect in a great nail salon. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. I went in for a pedicure and gel manicure. Unfortunately, the service was horrible. I tend to get ingrown nails a lot and don't really treat myself to pedicures often. My husband and I were going on vacation and my toes needed to be done. The lady was great at getting the ingrown nails out with little to no pain. However, she kept talking to the older lady doing May nails in their language and laughing. She even put my ingrown nail on my hand and insisted I look at it. I just kept saying thank you to her. They just laughed. The lady doing my nails was rough and got upset at me for moving my fingers. She was not nice. I mentioned to the lady doing the pedicure that I was extremely ticklish near my arch on my foot and she kept using the bar in that area. It made me feel so uncomfortable. I wasn't laughing. I was clearly very uncomfortable me and she just ignored me. I have never had such a bad experience at a nail salon. This was suppose to be a nice treat before going on vacation and it was horrible. I personally will never go back. I did notice they had some people there that seemed like regulars. I came into the salon last Sunday on a whim armed with a pretty manicure picture from Pinterest and absolutely no idea what to even ask for because I'd only ever done shellac. I really appreciated the helpfulness of the owner's daughter in walking me through the process, her helpful suggestions, and her very friendly demeanor. Annie ended up being my nail technician and she did a great job of trying to match the design I wanted! I hadn't done builder gel before, and it was a very relaxing experience. She was very flexible with adding on different things that I'd asked for and changing things that I didn't like. Since I was in a great mood after the manicure, I decided to do a pedicure with french tips too (why I chose brown french tips, I have no clue) and Mia helped me. Mia was super efficient, and the experience was very relaxing. All in all, I could tell that the salon owners take a lot of pride in their establishment, and that the staff take pride in their work. They were not busy they just didn't care. (Unacceptable Service and Dishonest Response - Do NOT Waste Your Time or Money). I've been a loyal client here since 2021, and I used to genuinely enjoy coming especially when Kim was doing nails herself. She was professional, respectful, and always went above and beyond. I tipped generously (over 25% every time) because the service matched the price. But unfortunately, things have gone completely downhill since Kim stepped away from doing nails and left everything to the rest of the staff. I've been cut, disrespected, and repeatedly disappointed by poor quality work from technicians who clearly aren't trained to the level they should be. Some can't even do basic ombré. That's not just disappointing that's unacceptable in a salon charging this much. The nail color after my fill didn't even match the original color it was so far off, I was disgusted. There was paint all over my fingers, uneven shaping, and bulky, thick nails that looked nothing like the reference photo I brought in. And when I pointed it out to Kim, her response was, "That's okay, leave it." Excuse me? I'm paying good money for this? Then I posted a review on Google map, and Kim replied publicly saying they were "probably very busy" as if that somehow explained the awful service. Let me be clear: there were only THREE customers in the entire salon the whole time I was there. That response is completely false. They were not busy they just didn't care. And what really sealed it for me? Kim has had no problem calling my personal phone number in the past to change appointments so why didn't she pick up the phone and call to apologize after everything that happened? She didn't check on me at all. Her public response was just for show to cover the salon's image. There was no real concern or accountability. I've stayed loyal longer than I should have, but I'm done. The prices are premium, but the work and treatment are bottom-tier. Literally the worst service experience I've ever dealt with in my life. I'm a young man who rarely treats himself and felt like getting a pedicure. The service went pretty good besides my left big toe getting cut deep in the corners, I was taken aback when she cut my toenail like that and was worried about getting an ingrown right away. Never in my life have I ever had a single issue with my nails let alone an ingrown or infection. It has been over a month and my toe has gotten infected and the corners of my toe the pain that won't go away. Im very hygienic and have had to clean and monitor my nail every day. I have visited this location 2 times, to seek a refund or some sort of resolution. The first time they took my information down as said the manager would contact me. I never received that call. Ask yourself what would you do for a customer that now has a new issue of infections and ingrown toenail as a result of your service? I personally feel a refund is beyond reasonable. Well I was just informed that refunds are not a part of their policy. After discussion with the staff they allowed me to chat with the manager over the phone. He said that I would have needed to have an issue within 3-4 days and see the doctor and bring it back to the nail salon for them to see about it getting covered by their insurance. So where does that leave me? A month of toe pain and potentially a recurring ingrown toenail problem. Down $75, $55 from service and a $20 tip. Going to have a schedule a doctor visit if it doesn't improve very soon. If you want trustworthy service go somewhere else, this place is void of it. read more

Went in to get a full set out on. Ended up paying $65 and all my left hand was crooked. Very crooked. The lady tried to tell me my fingers were crooked. One of the tips wasn't even glued down all the way so there is a massive gap. I went back expecting them to be apologetic and immediately fix their very expensive mistakes and I was met with another worker that didn't care at all. She attempted to file them even and dumped a bunch of glue in the gap making it even larger and managed to get glue and the cuticle area on the front.I will NEVER go there again. SO..Called and scheduled an appointment this evening for a shellac pedicure at 5pm, arrived a few min early the facility was large busy with lots of staff and well designed, the salon looked nice. That's the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. I had a couple walk in for a pedicure after me, no appointments both of their services started prior to mine. They put me in the pedicure chair and had me dangling my feet into an empty unlined bowl until about 5:23, I almost put my shoes on and left but then someone came to start the service. I paid for the highest priced pedicure "essential oil" $75 because I like to take this time to relax and treat myself I wear high heels a lot and really need the massage so I always try to get the best one. Usually that means fancy bubbles... something?? What I received at universal was worse than most salons standard base cost pedicure service. Several of the listed treatments didn't happen, (no hot stones) and I didn't smell any of the alleged essential oil? The massage was just lazy, she would show me she in fact did know how to do a good one for about 15 seconds and then go back to just gliding lotion around my shins... the polish application is sloppy, it's on my skin and cuticles, the filing is crooked and the paint is already starting to chip an hour afterwards. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE, how they were busy is beyond me., maybe I just got unlucky that day but based off what other say I don't think that's the case. I'm too nice to not tip, I left $90 for the $75 service but when I got into my car and took a closer look at how awful my feet look I wished I hadn't. I'm sorry it was a busy day but some people would rather have no service than a bad one, and had you have assessed your inability to fulfill the scheduled appointment and just turned me away I wouldn't be writing this review. read more

The lady that did my toes, cut too deep. It was a pinch and I didn't see any visible blood, but a few days later my toe became infected. My big toe is swollen and hurts so bad that I'm having a hard time walking. Went to the doctor and was told my toe is infected and my toe nail could possibly fall off. I was prescribed antibiotics and am having to soak my feet in espon salt twice a day. From some of the reviews I've read it sounds like they do not use sanitized tools or new files. I have not addressed this with the owner as of yet, but I will be contacting them soon. read more

I donated $87 dollars on a fill with a design. You can not talk to them as they think you are arguing with them. I'm a customer who been getting my nails done for over 25 years. She stated my fill was $46 cause my nails are long. My nails are not considered long.. mind you they are my nails! No tips! Then she said French tips was $15. Matte coat was another $5. The business posted a blue flyer notifying customers that prices may increase approximately 2 weeks ago. At that time a gel polish change was $23. Without updating in-house pricing, a simple gel polish change increased 30.43% ($23 to $30 for less than 20 minutes of work totaling $7.00). With inquiry, I was told I should have looked at the website. As a regular customer, I do not tend to look at the website for price increases. In review of the website...It states that a gel polish color change is $25. So is it $25 (a reasonable increase) or $30? This is really quite unacceptable. See pictures below. Thereafter, I was told that it's better to "get a manicure and pedicure". Personally, I believe it is better to receive the service sought. I did not require a manicure or pedicure. For the work performed, I was consistently tipping $10 on the $23 expense. It's not as if I was being cheap about the service or disrespecting nail artists. I write about this, because I received an admonishment during my appointment. For less than one minute, I required one finger, due to an error on Zoom. Prior to the appointment, I explained that I would be quiet during the service for a meeting. With explanation, I was thanked by the nail artist. The individual stated it would be fine. The nail artist then chastised me for needing the finger, telling me to finish my meeting before she would paint my nails. Thrice, I repeated I was done. Not only was this a listen only meeting...the nail artist was not working on that hand at that moment. Where I had politely informed the professional of the unexpected meeting in advance; I was rebuked. I'm literally shaking my head at the contrary experience. Also, I am insulted. When you tell a customer that 'you are only explaining a price change so they understand'; perhaps the person should have their facts in line. Even after reading the reviews I still went to them to get my nails done as I figured that nails are such a personal thing that you can't please everybody. My first time I saw Helen for my fill. Before my two weeks was up my one of my nails popped off. The lady that did my feet whose name I think was Ann was filing my skin and toe nails. She clipped me while doing the cuticle removal. My toe was throbbing for hours. Today the person that did my nails was Sophia. I told her I wanted square and I don't like my nails wide. For the nail that had popped off she didn't ask me if I wanted to replace it with another tip or tell me she wasn't going to put a tip on my nails. Rather she put the acrylic directly unto my own nails. She file some of my nails like she wanted to do the claw like nails. To be fair Helen had made it look like that two weeks before. After explaining to Sophia what I wanted I thought she would have added acrylic to change the claw like look. When I kept trying to g to explain what I wanted and inspecting my nails she gave this heavy sigh. I don't understand if I am paying for something and I have to wear it why is it a problem for me to tell you what I want it to look like. These nail techs are not what they use to be. When she posted a picture people said they looked like duck nails. Nothing like the photo she brought it. They were closing and asked us to come back the next day.
