What are some options for hotels near by? Cost friendly but nice of course.

The best value on property is Cabana Bay Resort. Once there it's easy access to Volcano Bay and it is possible to walk to the parks. There is bus & water taxi service available too. There are good restaurant options and the lazy river is fun. There… Read more

Is buying the fast pass worth it for the money?

Definetely yes on busy crowd days. I advise you to follow universals busy crowd day calendar; it's very accurate. You can also get a bang for your buck if you stay at one of Universals premier hotels, the will give you fast passes for every night of… Read more

Are there free lockers located near the entrance to avoid the locker fees at the attractions?

Depending on what size locker you need, many attractions themselves have free small lockers directly next to the entrance of the ride

    What time does Universal close?

Best thing is to check their website, since hours are variable for the seasons and days.

    How much is parking?

$26 for full day. I thought the VIP or closer parking was $40 but looks like everyone is saying $50. Its expensive though.

Should every family member have a Lanyard or can one parent have all the express passes in one lanyard? We want to avoid lockers. Also, Do you think we can get a slim fanny pack for 2 phones, express passes and chapstick and avoid using lockers?

For the most part, you might be able to avoid lockers that way, but since each ride is different, you may end up having to use the locker anyway, especially if you are looking to go on the coasters that require a bare minimum of items on each… Read more

    R all the rides open?

My wife and I were there during the last week of January 2021 and the only ride I remember being closed was Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl in the Simpsons area. Everything else was seemingly open.

    Blues clues adventures?

No I didn't see that. Download the app

Are all the rides open or are there some closed?

They're all open if you're referencing Covid! Due to the bad weather though they have delaying some rides (if it's downpouring), but only for that time being until the weather subsides. You're golden

My son will be 3 next month, but he is huge (24 in. When he was born) are they going to cause a problem?

Lived there 15 years ago was always age (having proof/birth certificate copy helps). Kids are generally bigger today. Also ask Hotel about your concerns to find out for you.

I was wondering if and when will they bring the regular hours back til 10:00?Just curious due to this pandemic that has made everyone's World upside down just want a little bit of happiness for my kids to say the least! Bless up everyone in advance…

I was just there and no plans have been made to extend closing hours. The lack of crowd, as well as mask wearing and too few employees makes it impossible to guess when that will occur. Disney is not shooting off fireworks each night for same… Read more

I'm going to the park tomorrow, has anyone been denied entry during this limited capacity time? What's a good time to get to the park?

My family and I went to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in August on the weekend. The parks open at 9:00 a.m. We got there around 10:00 a.m. and did not have a problem getting in. We didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes to get… Read more

Are small backpacks allowed to be brought in & carried around?

Yes, but you can't bring them on all the rides. They have lockers available to store your stuff while you ride.

Im visiting shortly and just wondering how to approach hagrids motorbike adventure. I am not the biggest harry potter fan but i still want to ride it. I have heard about the horrific wait times and i am just wondering how to approach it?

Simply Value your time. There is magic everywhere in that town. Hagrids does not give you any return on time invested. Early admission has people running to line up there. 1hr plus waits before the park even opens for normal business hrs. The whole… Read more

There’s city walk you can go to. They have a lot of restaurants and a movie theater too. Hopefully it doesn’t rain all day.

Can you bring water into the park?

Yes as long as the bottle is sealed

I'll be visiting a weekday in August and plan on getting the 1 day 2 parks (park to park ticket) with the express pass. I wanted to know if it's possible to do U.S. and Islands of Adventure in one day?…

I'm sure it's possible especially if you don't have any little ones with you, but keep in mind that without the park to park ticket, you will not be able to ride the Hogwarts Express train.

The indoor animation was all good too. I was impressed how organized the rides are and how tight security (a few check points) for the lightning lane was. They also just scanned your face/matched with photo and it was only a second! Remember not to bring big backpacks if you are planning to ride the rides. Or it's $3/locker per time. The free pre-ride lockers are teeny: just fit a waist bag, crossbody bag or a flattened folded in half backpack. Drink bottles with refill was also only $19.99, so do not worry about bringing a lot of water or drinks in. You can even fill water in the soft drinks machines. Cannot wait to visit Epic or Studios the next time I will be in Florida. Parking structure was organized and uber/lyft driver pickups are at Jurassic Park Level 5. There are other names/structures too. So remember what color you park at. Our Lyft driver got lost 3 times and was 25 mins late: so make sure you either use Uber or contact your driver to ensure he/she knows where to enter the correct parking structure.

We just stopped by for our fifth visit, a testament to how much we enjoy the park. So anyway, we drive up from South Florida, get a hotel, make our way over to the park, and or course we are looking to go on some rides. But to our surprise and frustration, so many were closed for renovation or offline due to mechanical issues. For example: The Jurassic Park River Ride and the Pteranodon Flyers were both out of service due to long term renovation. Even the Mystic Fountain was closed! Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, Kong Island and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey were supposed to be working, but all were offline for a number of hours throughout the day. Maybe we just caught them on an off day or something but it really made the trip a little bit annoying, waiting on line and then being told that the ride is now out of service for an unknown amount of time. And instead of having run, we have to constantly check back on the app for ride status updates. Lame. On a good day five stars for sure, but this time around it was a 3 star experience for me.

I had heard from locals that it's a great local option over the big theme parks. Fun Spot was pretty great, for what it was. Free parking, free admission if you don't plan on riding rides, also a discounted adult pass if you only are going on rides with your kid who is too young to ride alone. The whole place was small, maybe the area of a handful of city blocks. And on the Sunday afternoon when we went, the place was quiet enough that we never waited more than a few minutes to get onto a ride. As we were only there for a couple hours, the cashier recommended the 4 ride pass for my kids, and the companion pass for me. But if one were to spend more hours there, buying the day pass online for $59.95 is quite a bargain. Not all rides were open, but the "big" rides that most kids want (the roller coasters and the go carts) were open. My daughter, who is not a big roller coaster fan, had a harder time finding kiddie rides that she actually wanted to go on, and she watched the go carts and didn't even want to try those with me driving. However, the place was small enough that I felt fine leaving my 10 year old son to go on rides by himself while I went on the Ferris wheel or the merry go round with my 8 year old. There are a bunch of food options available throughout the park. They were definitely more affordable than Disney prices! Most of the places offered souvenir cups with discounted refills, but there were also water stations set up throughout with free cups. I'd definitely come back if I had a few hours to burn and the kids didn't want to go swimming. Hopefully at some point, my daughter will change her mind about roller coasters, though!

I really liked how the buildings have special chrome illusion paint. Depending on where you view the building or at a different angle, with specific lighting, it changes how the buildings look! It's pretty cool. There are variety of theme park rides in Marvel Super Hero Island. The Incredible Hulk Coaster: This is a super fast ride! It goes from 0 to 40 mph in just two seconds! The ride can reach up to 67 mph though and has a variety of inversions! The Amazing Spider-Man: This is a 3D dark ride. It's a slow ride though! It combines motion simulation and special effects to immerse you in the ride! You'll get to see Spider Man and a few villains from the series! Doctor Doom Fearfall: This ride is a drop ride. You'll be launched up to close to 200 feet in the air! I try to avoid this ride though. Drop rides are a little scary for me! Storm Force Accelatron: It's a spinning ride. It's based on the X-Men series. You're helping storm defeat Magneto! There are a lot of Meet and Greets in this area! Last time I was here, I saw Wolverine and Captain America! You can also see other superheroes like Spider-man or even villains such as Doctor Doom or the Green Goblin! If you're looking for dining options there is the Captain America Diner, and some other quick service options like Aunt Anne's! There are some stores you can shop in for Marvel merchandise which offers collectible, toys, apparel and so much more! My mom and I spent a few hours at Marvel Super Hero Island. All three of these together took up about two hours and then we were able to go to Cafe tu tu tango to get a bite to eat. This was a great half day experience while we were visiting Orlando. There was a parking garage and parking was super easy. By that time we left around 8:30 PM there were so many cars, but when we first got there at about 5 PM there were tons of spots. They do have parking spots you can pay for in the lower levels so it seems like if you're willing to pay there will always be parking. If you want free parking, you need to go earlier because this seems to be popular for nightlife. I always appreciate when there's so many attractions together that you can walk to. This place has quite a few restaurants, some shops and the attractions all in a contained area. It was very clean and when we came, there was a huge police presence, because apparently a couple weeks before there was hundreds of teenagers that descended to the area and fought. So the place was doing a really good job making sure that everything was safe. This is a place for both families and non-families alike.

I walked through the warp pipe entrance and into the land, and that was a genuine moment. The colors, sounds, and scale of everything around me hit immediately in a way that was hard to prepare for even though I knew what to expect. The attention to detail was remarkable, and the music threading through the entire area kept the immersion intact as I moved from one section to the next. Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness is the ride to prioritize and the one that generates the most excitement in the land. I arrived at park open and went straight here, which was the right strategy as the wait times built quickly. Mario Kart is the other major attraction and delivers on the concept, with the Power Up Band integration adding a competitive layer that makes it more than just a passive ride experience. The Power Up Band is worth purchasing before entering the park if I want the full experience. It unlocks interactive elements and mini games scattered throughout the land that let me collect coins, hit question blocks, and track my score on the app. Without it I could still enjoy the rides and the theming, but a meaningful portion of what makes the land special is tied to having one. At around fifty dollars it is an added cost on top of an already expensive day, but for a Nintendo fan it justifies itself quickly. Weekday visits made a noticeable difference in wait times and gave me more room to engage with the interactive elements without feeling rushed. The land rewards people who slow down and explore rather than just moving through it as efficiently as possible, and there is enough packed into the space that I could spend a solid chunk of the day here without feeling like I had exhausted it.
