The…read moremen who did the manual labor to treat our mold and water damage were excellent, hardworking, and professional. All 3 stars is because of y'all My issue is entirely with management. After my insurance company caused complications that led to First Call terminating the job which I understood, I received an invoice in May of last year. I paid that balance in full with two separate checks within two weeks. I have the receipts, the copies of the checks, and the bank statements showing exactly when First Call cashed them. After a full year of zero communication, I woke up today to a voicemail and email threatening to send me to collections within 48 hours. They claimed they had been "trying to reach me" for 12 months, which is untrue. I checked my call logs and my email history; there was absolutely nothing. When I called and provided my proof of payment and the exact dates they cashed my checks, they admitted the "error" was simply because someone forgot to check a box in their system. It is incredibly stressful and offensive to have your credit threatened because a company can't be bothered to check their own bank deposits before sending out threats. As a veteran, I live by a standard of integrity and doing your due diligence. Relying on a "checked box" as the Bible instead of doing actual research is lazy and unprofessional. Do better, not just for your customers, but for the reputation of the guys out there doing the actual work.

Junk removal took care of that job & removed the rat poop. Then I called A2Z to clean everything assuming that's all I'd have to do. Last night I saw a giant rat run across my garage so now I've paid $3500 to hazmat clean the 1/2 my garage but still have a rat infestation. I'm now working with a rat removal service but before A2Z allowed me to hire them & get in contract they should have advised me to be sure to complete the proper step beforehand of ensuring the rat infestation was resolved. Now i'm out $3500 for an unnecessary garage cleaning and still have a rat infestation. As a new homeowner (or any homeowner) I'd assume a good business would make sure I've done the pre work (in this case rat infestation elimination) before accepting the job. That's in my view a shitty thing to have done to me as the client. Really disappointed because they seemed professional throughout the process. So for this reason of not holistically proactively making sure the proper prep was done I cannot rate this business any higher than a 2 star. I'm not angry I am however very disappointed and feel that I've been tricked. I cannot recommend this business.

Drew offered the lowest bid and a confidence that he and his team could get the job done to our satisfaction. Their work was outstanding! When we informed him that our travel schedule would delay their start until June, he was flexible. His team's thorough mold/ moisture remediation (removing the old moldy vanity, damaged moldy wallboard, and floor tiles) was completed in a week The remediation quickly received Satisfactory test results from SAFE, the environmental testing agency we independently hired. The restoration work then moved well with the replacing of sheet rock on the wall (where mold/moisture had been) but the laying of the replacement floor tiles was stalled when the team discovered that those tiles were slightly too short of matching the original 24"x12" floor tiles. To stick to our budget, we had opted to get the tiles on our own, not realizing that brands can differ in their tile sizing. This resulted in an unexpected interruption of the project for the PPR team while we found another tile brand true to size. Drew remained patient and flexible with us. The tile team did a beautiful job laying the new replacement tiles. After that, the last step was installing replacement vanity which was also done perfectly. I called Reactic Restoration on Friday, and Daniel Garza was able to inspect the damage that same day. Our house is older, so testing for asbestos was a standard part of the process; Daniel was able to get us in touch with an asbestos testing company that provides quick test results. That company got a tester to our house the next day (Saturday), and results were available Monday before noon. Fortunately, the tests showed that no asbestos was present. Daniel was able to assign someone to come to our house that same day, and set up dehumidifiers and plastic containment sheets with zipper doors, to seal the work zone, and to put down plastic to protect the carpet. On Tuesday, another team was able to remove the mold-affected wall materials, and wipe down the area with an excellent non-hazardous but effective disinfectant. They knew our preferred plumber was arriving at 1pm, and they were done with all work, including HEPA vacuuming and cleanup, before that time. The dehumidifiers are still set up, and will run for at least 48 hours. Daniel checked the area and the machines today (Wednesday), to make sure everything had been done correctly and that the dehumidifiers were working as intended. I am very happy with the service provided by Reactic Restoration. As Daniel kindly acknowledged on Friday, it's a shock to find mold in your house unexpectedly. It's been less than a week, and the mold is gone, and everything smells normal again! Everyone I encountered from Reactic was professional and kind. I hope we won't need their services again; but if we do, they will be our first call.

I've never had to use a Water Restoration service before so I browsed trusty Yelp and reached out to Fire & Water Damage. Glad fellow Yelp friend Karen W gave a glowing review! They seem to answer calls 24/7 and I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. Mike was main point of contact and gave us an estimate and scope of work. Basically, they had to tear out the drywall and insulation from the wet area, dry and dehumidify the area for days, and then put on moon suits and remove any mold. We were able to have 2 techs come on a Friday and then let the dehumidifier run over the weekend. We also had to tear out our upper cabinet since the top was damaged by water. On Monday, they came back to remove any leftover mode and patch things up. The total price came in well below the estimate, which is a huge plus. Very happy with the service and efficiency. If you ever suspect you have water damage from leaks, call these guys and get the problem resolved to ensure mold doesn't form or worst, spread. Note that their services are purely restorative - they'll dry out the water-damaged area and get rid of all the mold. You'll need to hire a plumber first to stop the leaks and then afterwards, a drywall contractor to patch up the holes with insulation and new drywall followed by texturing and painting.

They…read moreasked how big our leak was when we called and I told them- it's over 7000 gallons per month, costing me $100-200/mo with EBMUD. No one said anything about that being a "small" leak. When the guy got here he couldn't find the leak and said "oh that's too small to find" but they still charged me the full $645 anyway. When i called to discuss with them they said, well we were able to confirm it was in your irrigation. ??? Um, yes, we knew that. Then they said, oh you should've had your gardener cap the high pressure system first- again, no one told me this before the visit, or even during the visit. I told them I'd be happy to have my gardener cap it if they could come back, but they wanted to charge me for a second visit, so I said no way. Basically- if you're not losing over $300/month on your leak, these guys are not worth it and have some shady business practices :/

The quote came back quickly and was very competitive. We were offered 3 tiers of pricing depending on the quality of the paint we wanted. We had the entire exterior of our home ( a Mediterranean home in Crocker Highlands built in 1922) re-painted. The project was managed on site by Anthony Suarez, who was a true professional: very honest, helpful, polite and reliable. I found Asen through a Realtor in El Cerrito. I am selling my Aunt's house and needed to have it painted. He was one of the contractors that has a license to remove asbestos that needs to be properly disposed of. His price was fair and his work excellent. On this last project they showed up at 10:30 despite being told it was important that they arrive by 9AM. I walked out to the van and sent them away. I went to Yelp to review the painting contractors in my area who also did repairs for dry rot and siding. I selected three contractors with a rating of four starts and above and scheduled an appointment with each of them to view the house. Within a week I received all three proposals, and I reviewed and compared them to ensure the contractors were providing the same services. Two of the proposals came in with a higher cost and the third was lower for the same amount of work-- so I selected the latter, which was Rayco. In addition to the great rate, Tony L. arrived early to the appointment for viewing the house and we had a great rapport. After we selected the paint scheme and received approval from our HOA, we scheduled the work to begin the last week of June. Tony L. and his team arrived at 8 am with their equipment and porta potty. He introduced me to the team and said that the first day was to power wash the house. I asked him if he could also power wash our cement, and he said that it can be spotty. I told him that it was okay, and he obliged. Tony L. and his team communicated with me every day to let me know if there were any issues we needed to address and consulted with me about the paint scheme. The team was very professional and hard working: they did a great job painting, repairing the dry rot, and the siding, which was about forty to fifty percent of the work. Each day the team made sure to clean up the area to ensure its safety. It took a week to complete the job, and they even worked on July 4th. During this time my wife needed to paint the interior of her tea business. She had just signed the contract for her space and needed to get her business up and running within a month. Lucky for her I was already working with Tony L. and recommended that she speak with him. She scheduled an appointment with him, and they met at her new space. After they met, he provided her with a quote, and she accepted it because his cost came in much lower than the previous quotes. Tony L. and his team completed the paint job within a week. We have received so many compliments about the paint job and color scheme. The house looks great and he and his team were professional at every step in the process. It was obvious that they not only care about doing quality work, but also that it is done correctly (i.e. fixing rotten wood before painting it, using high quality paint and products, etc.), which I really respect. He was a bit more expensive than some of the other quotes I received, but I cannot stress enough that it was worth every penny. From start to finish Wilmar was great to work with and I will be hiring him and his team again for anything I need. Looking for more details? Here are all the things I appreciated: - Great communication, from quote throughout the process, including some touch-ups (where I accidentally made a mess of the paint) I could rely on him promptly responding - Walked me around the property at the assessment and walked me through specifics of the process i.e., areas where wood and glazing would be replaced, what types of paint he would recommend, what products and brands he would use, etc. - Thorough quote which aligned to everything he walked me through - Great team who were respectful of my property and cleaned up after themselves EVERY DAY. I can't stress how much I appreciated this, having had other workmen and teams either leave the area a mess for me to clean up, or damaged other parts of my property. Wilmar and team never did this! - Thorough prep, quality products and work - I had one issue with the stair paint peeling up after it rained and Wilmar did not hesitate to come out and make it right (and even fix a spot on my drive way that I'd messed up.... stepped through caulk and tracked it around) The house looks great. It was key that his team could handle the woodwork without me needing to engage and coordinate a separate handyman or carpenter. I chose to have his team do some additional work to remove an overgrown hedge and to replace a trellis. Wilmar's bid to paint my home was competitive. As price-conscious as I am, I chose Wilmar's bid over a lower bid because of my high confidence in his ability to do the job well. Wilmar and his son were very conscientious and their team very professional. I am happy with my choice of painter.

I hired David and his brother Udiel to replace some old lath and plaster walls and ended up using…read morethem for a variety of projects in a one bedroom apartment. I would happily recommend them to others. They started by removing damaged lath and plaster and replacing it with new drywall and insulation. They matched the original mud rolled texture perfectly. I then had them tear up old carpeting and fully replace the damaged sub flooring. They added some under supports before adding the new subfloor. Then the new flooring was installed with all the trim molding and thresh holds. After they were finished with the drywall and flooring, the repainted the entire unit, walls and trim. In the end they ended up finishing up an old closet that needed some light electrical work and walls sealed up. They did an excellent job on this project as well. Overall, I was very happy with their work. They showed up on time, did the work in the given schedule and did a great job cleaning up after they were done. Five stars!

Colorblast is the worst! I used them 2 times to paint the exterior of 2 of my rental properties and…read morethey seemed to do okay for a fair price. Then I hired them for a pretty big interior job painting my mom's house (who had passed away) including all interior, cabinets, removing popcorn from ceilings and paneling from 1 wall. I don't know where to begin. They took weeks to complete, which they never did. They flooded the floors, including the subfloor under the carpet, which the flooring installer later had to dry out to install the new floors. They was drywall mud and paint slung everywhere over the house and they painted over hinges, outlets, random light switches, alarm sensor, took down the fire alarms wired to the alarm system after removing the popcorn and sealed up the ceiling without replacing them. They didn't cover new doors and casings just installed by a finish carpenter, the doorbell case, or AC controller. They covered up all the AC & heater vents and turned on the heater, not once, but 2 more times after being told not to. They again turned it on with the return open with no filter so all the dust would go into the system with no filter. The walls looked like they were half way painted with primer or just not painted. The owner, Nathan, texted me in the middle of the night with rude messages. He told me that the house was just going to be sold, so why did I care if it was a good job. They left their food and junk all over the house and there was paint residue in the front yard, driveway and down the street. I gave him several chances to fix what he had done. It got to be too much damage. I paid them half of the money promised. I then had to pay another painter the full amount, plus much more for all the damage they had caused. I had to replace all of the outlets and light switches because so many were painted over, there was no recovery. They refused to return the 4 mirrored door railings that they took to remove all the paint they got on them. They are custom doors and I had to pay over $900 to get them replaced. When I tried to discuss it with Nathan's wife, the co-owner, Amanda, she threatened me with a mechanic lien against my property. They caused so much stress and so much damage and additional costs, I strongly advise anyone against using them for anything. The way Amanda treated me after finding out all of this happened, made it even worse. In my opinion, they are dishonest and terrible people from the owners down to the crew. I have so many photos and other workers that were there who can attest to how bad they really were!!!
