Though the car we picked seemed like a great car and even drove well, Stillwater Auto was pretty adamant that we should replace the tires. They offered to do it for us, but strongly suggested going to a preferred service center so we wouldn't be charged 2X the labor - again, honest all along the way. In terms of the car - my wife and I were looking for a great deal for about 4-5 months, and we found it here. We don't care much for how the car looks on the exterior, so we were able to buy a car with minor hail damage that runs like a dream. We couldn't find a better deal in the cities than Stillwater Auto. Again, we had been looking for almost half a year. We've already recommended a few friends here and will continue to do so.

The sales guy promised to fix that and a bunch of other things...but the moment we signed for the car all the promises evaporated. I know. I shoulda got it in writing. Salesdude is now retired. This year, we had a problem with the ignition. We knew exactly what needed to be done but didn't have the tools/parts to do it--so we took it to the dealer. We told them what services we wanted performed, but they still charged us for expensive diagnostic work. They also left (completely non-ignition-related) parts of the engine only loosely attached (i.e. caps, plugs, etc.) and in some cases not connected at all. They also stated that they would clean/detail the car as a complimentary service--which they didn't do, but whatever, we weren't expecting or paying for that. And then... ...things started breaking. I'm not saying it was the dealer's fault, but it's a really weird coincidence that I had NO problems until that one, and after we brought it in, there was a veritable onslaught of minor issues (all of which, thankfully, my husband was able to repair himself). Repair costs are also incredibly expensive. That's typical with a dealership mechanic, though. Maybe I'd purchase another car from them, but I'd be sure to get every promise in writing before signing anything. Smarmy.

Previously I had an appointment that we decided to wait for, rather than drop off an pickup. They made us wait 3 hours with NO communication. I called to check in and they said "We haven't looked at your car yet". What? Why do we make appointments if you don't have time that you allocated for that repair? I expressed my annoyance, so they got right to it. I watched them, guess how long it took to do the repair? 10 minutes. That's right, three hours of my time off work wasted, for 10 minutes of work. Okay, moving on. My car was busted into by junkies, who smashed out the driver side windows of multiple vehicles on our block. I call Luther KIA in Bloomington, and talk to a service representative to get an estimate and schedule an appointment. He gives me an estimate and sets up an appointment to come in and have the glass replaced. A week later I go in for the appointment, and another service representative tells me that the appointment is to get an estimate, I explain I already had one. The new estimate is, surprise! Higher... and they tell me they don't have the part and it will take a week to 10 days to arrive. Once the part arrives, they will call and setup an appointment, which will (Due to being busy) likely take another week. I point out this will places me at 3 weeks with no real window, and likely 4 weeks to have the work done. I tell him I want him to setup an appointment for the 25th, the day they expect to get the part. He agrees to this. Then I get a call, "We have your part, call us to setup an appointment". I call them and state that I should already have one setup, they look and say no, they show no appointment. The soonest they can do the work is... ready? another week out. This puts me at over a month with no real window. When I was there, I complained about their poor communication, and someone claiming to be a general manager interjected and said they would personally look into it and get back to me. Any guesses? That's right, never heard from them. They don't care. And they had a bunch of kids in their back office that were literally laughing at me, they finally closed the door. This is all a big joke to them, because they have plenty of business. I don't normally bother with reviews, but the service at Luther KIA in Bloomington sucks.
