I remember this location as Furr's. You know the buffet style family dining. Now it's a super size ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Chinese buffet. If it's your first visit, walk around the buffet before you start making your selection as they have several options. There's a variety of food, you must exercise self control. I don't like them taking my drink order before going to the buffet because they leave your drink on the table unattended. I always tell them I'll order when I return. The staff as always been friendly and they stay on top of cleaning/clearing your plates when finish. There's lots of fruit, desserts including ice cream. If there's a wait it usually goes by pretty fast. If there's a wait, that means the buffet bar is going to be busy.... watch out for children. read more

A name like this might make you wonder....and you'd be right to do so. Let's face it, you're not looking up this place because you want the best-cooked, most perfectly-seasoned and well-presented chinese food around...you're checking this place out because it has the word "Buffet" in the name. I get it, I was too. This place is about what you'd expect from a Chinese buffet. A pretty wide selection of items of low-to-medium quality, a pretty large crowd of eager eaters swarming the food areas, and in case it's your thing - Mexican tv dramas playing on the flatscreens. Food-wise they had a pretty good variety of dishes. The usual stuff you'd expect from a chinese buffet including a few completely non-chinese items. There were actually 2 different types of fried rice (I thought the shrimp fried rice was pretty good). Most of the different dishes were just okay. Good: Chicken Dumplings, egg-drop soup, shrimp fried rice. Okay: Jalapeno Chicken, Garlic Shrimp, Smoked Chicken, egg rolls, pork tamales. Not Good: Mashed Potatoes (bland mush), Taquitos (dry & crispy), Mac & Cheese (I didn't even try it - could tell just by looking at it that it was a disaster), and sushi (see below). Sushi: Don't eat it. In fact, just stay away from it. The rice in the sushi rolls was over-sweetened, mushy and sticky. Mediocre chinese food is one thing, but there's no middle ground for sushi. It's either good or not. They have a hibachi area where you can pick out raw meats & other items and have them cooked up for you. I didn't try this so I can't speak to that. They do have a fair amount of dessert items. I didn't try any of those either. Their ice-cream machine was out of order and they had a freezer with different flavors of regular scoop ice cream. Like always, it was very packed in the weekend. They did have oysters and crawfish during dinner, however failed to serve king crab legs. They have many choices of food. Best part was the ice cream bar. Unlike your typical buffet, they actually had a lady scooping ice cream for you either in a cup or cone. The sushi bar had many choices. I was kinda disappointed when Furr's closed up, I never got a chance to try their food. However, it was reopened as Uno 1 China Super Buffet and I was intrigued. Over this past weekend, I went with a couple friends to this place. They have a superb selection of food, including chicken done in various ways, sushi, catfish, potato wedges, etc. They even a dessert section. And like the Golden Corral, it has the "Chocolate Wonderfall" for marshmallows and strawberries. Their food was prepared and cooked to perfection. It's too bad I didn't get to try their desserts as I was already full after my 3rd plate. Yes, their food is so delicious, I had to go for 3rds. LOL!! Uno is hands down one of the best Asian buffets in the DFW area. The prices are very reasonable and the food is consistently warm and great quality. My family and I usually bring large parties here and we always have a great time! The staff here are professional and courteous. Even during the peak of the dinner rush, the staff will come to check on you and assist with any needs. One of the best things about Uno is that there is a huge variety of food, ranging from sushi to tamales. Some of my favorite dishes that they serve include the fried catfish, honey walnut shrimp, black pepper chicken, and fried chicken. The batter for both their fried chicken and catfish is super crispy and seasoned perfectly. Also, if you like raw oysters and crawfish, they typically offer those for weekend dinner. The restaurant was extremely busy during my visit so it's amazing anything would be lukewarm as they were having trouble keeping up with the demand for some items (fried rice). Mongolian BBQ is my favorite and their selection included shrimp, a bonus. I had high expectation due to the most and high rating Google n Yelp reviews. However, the foods were Lukewarm to cold. Anything that should be hot like fried chicken, french fries, fried rice, noodles etc were cold, even soups were Lukewarm... searched for a right temperature food but, found none. Crawfish - cold, not properly cooked n breaks off shapelessly. No saltened crabs for dinner unlike their competitors... still $1 more. To help give you a visual on unique food variety, they serve a plate of milky mashed potatoes plus some Homemade tamales placed right beside the raw sushi.....it takes a minute to take it all in. I was like wait is that steamed dumplings beside the cheese enchiladas? I will also say there is a large island of fruits and desserts and free ice cream scoopers to finish out your meal. So to answer question #1....YES it's Plentiful Question #2...is it Tasty. Well, it isn't bad (except the sushi...DON'T ATTEMPT THE SUSHI!) Most of the food is pretty good. With your typical buffet flavors. Everything looked and tasted fresh...except The Sushi. And now for question #3. The price for what they serve is very reasonable. When I saw the bowl that I picked up, it had a small dirt that I guess from the previous customer's food, I alerted the guy who's stocking up the bowls, but he just smiled at me and return the bowl to the stacks. This Chinese buffet destroys my intermittent fasting diet. The prices are a little on the higher side but justified considering the food is fresh and hot. What I did like over other Chinese buffets was the smaller serving platters that presented the food well unlike the cattle feed stations you get at most buffets. If you've ever been to a Circus Circus Casino buffet you can probably relate. This is a good place after visiting the Church of Thrift next door on Sunday. I am not too happy with the service in this place ... the section we sat in was towards the right side of the restaurant (when you walk in and look to your right) in booth #6 which is opposite the restrooms by the window, and we had a guy as a server who was nice but him and I think his girlfriend/co-worker kept walking back and forth to our table. It felt like they did not check on anyone else in that section but us. I'm not sure if it's because of my red hair or my short hair cut but both of them just kept walking to our table and turning around right when they got to our table. Every time they did this I would make eye contact with them! It made me so very very uncomfortable and caused some PTSD and anxiety issues to occur while I was eating. I felt like I was being watched and this is absolutely not a good look! I begged them to please give us space before coming back to the table and not literally walk by the table almost every second. It was the most annoying thing ever! The couple or duo stopped walking by but the guy kept doing it because he has a other tables behind us, but I think he was also doing this on purpose as well. Management... pls check on all your customers not just the black ones. Also don't come by a table every single second. Take at least 5-7 mins away from the table before you approach the table again! Give us time to eat and talk and drink before you come bomb rushing us!! My time spent here was very very unpleasant and I will make sure I let everyone know. Expect to be harassed if you don't look like a Caucasian or Hispanic person. Just being honest. I felt discriminated on but I am not sure why! Don't recommend they used to out in way more love and effort in to the good and service. Went not to long ago took my family plus 1. ‍ It was super hot inside, fans off, empty food plates on line, we had to pick up our own food from the grill area and wait for drinks to be brought. We waited 12 min to get our drinks from the time we walked in until we actually got them and better drink slow cause you will be waiting for a refill. On top of all that I made it a point to pay at the counter so I could ask about the AC literally if you had shorts you stuck to the pleather chairs/booth I paid with a credit card and got a then here comes the no good waitress flagging me down saying I didn't pay. I gave her the proof and she was like no they said you didn't pay excuse me so did I pull the receipt out of someone's ass or how did I get this paper dated for today ? So she took the receipt inside to verify by this time I mortified how dare you accuse me of not paying and chase me down that was the real killer I was embarrassed we had invited our friend to dinner with our family for it to turn out on such a sour note. I agree with the first review, the Crab Rangoon is chewy and doesn't leave you wanting more. Now, the refurbished Furr's Cafeteria is great. The space has been reconfigured and moderinized while keeping the soaring ceiling. First class remodel! I sampled several of the items. Yum! OK, this place just opened last week... Food is hot and fresh, SUSHI (FORKING YEAH) is fresh and has no fishy smell. The ONLY draw backs I noticed were 1- the Crab Rangoon was fresh but kind of chewy, so not a fan and 2- the pork on a stick (WTFE it is called) did not have that great flavor I had hoped for. But that was the only thing I can say bad. Oh the atmosphere was great, plenty of room and a nice clean appearance. Now for everything else I ate, I sampled pretty much everything they had, a piece of this and that as it were, and I enjoyed it all. I especially loved the FRESH SUSHI, that was being prepared constantly. I spoke to one of the Managers and told them the competition was crap in the area. My girl friend used to work here, she said it was the worst time of her life! The restaurant does not pay waiter/waitress a single cent (all the pay goes to some kind of tax co-paying or something). All the money they make is on tips. However, most of customers tip so poorly (most of the time $2 for $50 or $60 bill) and many of them do not tip anything. Moreover, it's very common for dine and dash customers, who waiter/waitress need to responsible for (paying with their hard earned tips money). They work 12 - 14 hours straight almost everyday and do all kinds of side jobs until midnight. They deserve better! Please treat them well if you read this comment. I hope all people work here have a better working environment. Besides, the food was good, the price is decent for the variety choices. That's why it makes sense to be more generous! read more

I hate buffets. I loved Uno 1. Does that mean not that I love buffets? No. It does mean that I found one I can tolerate. Food: Hot, plentiful, seasoned well, fresh. Decor: Large space. Plenty of room to sit, move, graze. The buffet-logistics were well thought out. No need to find the sharpest fork in the box in order to fend off would-be attackers for that last bunch of fried rice. There was so much food, so many different kinds and so much more coming out of the kitchen hot and fresh you didn't know where to start! Fresh fruit, veggies, stir-fry, eclairs and ice cream for desert, the flavor combinations were endless! The location itself is huge and holds a ton of people. For just under $10 a person, you can't beat the price anywhere! The buffet line is kept very clean and their staff are very attentive and quick to find you a table. The good line up was amazing. Hands down one of the best buffets I've eaten in a long time. The layout was amazing . It used to a Furs, and I can honestly say they had better food than Furs did . They have a wide range of food from Chinese to American . They even have a hibachi grille located inside where you choose your plate Ghengis grill style and they bring it to your table.
