I spoke to Jim on the phone to book the service, and he was really friendly and helpful. He said his wife Rose would be in touch with a quote after I texted some pictures of the room. I don't know who I was texting with in the end. They quoted me $100. The two workers arrived right on time, were very polite, and did a beautiful job! However, they spoke no English and used a phone app to communicate. (You speak into the phone, they read the Portuguese that's generated, then they speak into the phone and it spits out English. Who knows how accurate it is.) I lived in a foreign country for 6 years and while I wasn't fluent, I had basic proficiency in the language... admittedly I worked in an industry where people spoke English, but for day-to-day things I was glad I could read and handle basic conversations. (This was pre-smart phone.) I'd love to hire Rose's Cleaning for their organizing service, but can't imagine how you'd do that with someone you couldn't talk to. They get good reviews for that, so maybe I'll try it. I'm skeptical but interested. If all you need is cleaning it probably doesn't matter that you can't communicate without a phone translator. Their work was beautiful and they were punctual and polite. All of that is great. I'm glad they could fit us in!

I needed more space during that time and they were quite full but they did manage to find me the right size space that fit into my budget. They didn't have any discounts to offer, but the value of the spaces I rented was well worth it. I had also rented U-Haul trucks when they used to have them. They don't have them anymore, but my experience with their trucks was seamless and easy. I was able to get all my stuff moved in and the truck returned in one day. This Storage Facility is the best one I have ever been the customer of.

The building was secure and there were cameras everywhere. Driving around it and parking were easy, and the units are relatively easy to find. The GM, Laura, gave me a tour and helped me pick the right size unit for me (a smaller one). Laura also made sure I had no trouble getting in the building with my personal security code. Signing the agreement was quick and easy and Laura was patient and knowledgeable, answering all my questions. I looked at 20+ facilities all around the metro area and nothing comes vaguely close to the safety, cleanliness, and service provided here. Drive through bay for your car and truck makes you feel super safe even if you're a female going to and front the unit alone (most storage facilities are terrifying). The bay is also clutch for moving trucks especially if a rain storm or blizzard hits on moving day (we had one of each). It's well lit and bright. Units are all super clean as is the rest of the facility. It's well staffed and Leo is wonderful. Climate control will keep your precious belongings safe even in frigid Boston winters or humid summers. We tell everyone we know about ezstorage. I had just resigned to the fact that all storage units are terrible, sketchy places often with homeless people living in them if you're anywhere near Boston, oh and they'll rip you off too and raise your rates or never stop billing you. Having had a small business in the same vicinity believe me my tendency would be to be as supportive as possible but the treatment I received was inexcusable. 1. I never missed a payment. During Covid, I mailed my monthly payment within days of being due ( even though my own vendors were months behind) and due to the mail service at the time being very slow, I was slapped with a late fee which took some discussion to remove despite the whole world at the time being exempt from late rent and eviction. 2. More recently I went to move items out and had an accident where my face was bleeding profusely-- no one was in the office or reachable by phone ( I sat by my phone with blood all over my clothes , crying and trying to reach a family member. Why the manager did not forward his phone to his cell in this day and age is beyond me and should be a security requirement, but the fact that I later learned it was he walking by me numerous times without an inquiry was unbelievable! The man with him later turned out to be quite kind and got me ice once I figured out that the manager was on the floor. 2. The next time i went to the unit was the 5th of the month and my check had been mailed on Monday the 3rd. I could not get in despite the fact there is a 10 day grace period. The manager told me he could override the controls but only if he were in his office which, based on past behavior, could have trapped me there. I was in the process of getting him a personal cc ( would also need to cancel my check) when he hung up on me-- seriously? 3. I was pretty upset when I called back and mentioned his neglect when I was injured and lack of safety to which he replied " I am not here to serve your beck and call." 4. I called for information on Hunter Douglas shades and had a good talk with a woman here, after which we made an appointment for her and a technical person to come by the house a few days later to discuss details about how the mechanized shades work, and look at colors and fabrics.. About five minutes before the expected arrival that day I had a message saying "we" are running late but "we" expect to be there within 15 minutes. About 30 min later though, the doorbell rang and a man stood there. He did not introduce himself but his shirt was labeled "Hunter Douglas". I asked where the design person was with whom I had spoken and who had sent me that message. He didn't know. He came in and I asked if we should wait for her. He didn't know. No attempt to wear a mask or ask if I preferred he do so, and as he walked into the living room I saw he was wearing dirty tennis shoes as he walked on our Oriental carpet--no attempt on his part to remove or cover them. He was very terse (I could not tell if he was shy or upset about coming alone) but did the measuring. I asked what was going on, as I was expecting a designer to come with color books, fabric etc. He offered he had a color book in his car and could go get it, but I had expected to interact with a designer. He was in and out within five minutes. I called the shop, and another employee explained my contact was with a customer, and then, most oddly, proceded to explain to me what this other customer was asking about and was going to order. I stopped her as I wasn't interested at all in another person's order, said I had had a message that "we" were coming and who was this solo quiet man who turned up without ever giving his name even. I asked for my contact to call me back but was told they close at 2p and she would be leaving (heaven forbid they return a call past 2p apparently). I got the email address and sent off an email saying I found this all very unprofessional. I very well could understand running late with a client, but then why not call to say that and ask if we could re-schedule? But sending out this man alone, an employee who clearly was not at his best when speaking directly with customers and who didn't know what was going on even with his own workmate, was unacceptable. She had my email and phone number, but now five days later still no response. Very unprofessional and apparently don't like being called on it! The whole effect was very disorganized and unprofessional.
