We had a challenging move from downtown S.F. to Berkeley, to a house that is in the middle of multiple construction projects. Yet they made everything feel easy. I had gotten food poisoning the day before and we were stressing because we hadn't yet finished packing. But it was no problem--they loaded the truck with the items that were ready to go while we packed the rest. Make sure to ask for Joseph and his team (Fernando and Victor). They arrived a little early so they'd be ready and were the utmost professional while also being a warm and friendly team of guys. We would have them over dinner any time. Because of Joseph I'm now convinced that moving is both an art and an athletic feat. We had a recliner (100lbs) and a treadmill (200lbs) that were too wide to go through a doorway--and yet he maneuvered them effortlessly through without a scratch on either.

The guy in charge pretty much sat in the truck most of the time once we got to the new place. No wonder it took 6 and a half hours for everything, and that included me helping. I've moved across the pond and that move was only a little bit more than what I paid to move 15 minutes away from where I was living. I as shocked when the total came to almost $1800 to move a 2 bedroom, one bath apartment, that had no storage and no garage. Pretty minimal, 1000 sq. ft. apartment. I wasn't told that I was going to have to pay for every single item used; boxes to move the stuff around, (almost everything was already boxed up) tape (I had already covered and taped things up) tarps to cover furniture, their lunch break, etc. With all the tape and tarps, they still managed to snap one of my lamps in half, and I'm still searching for some bowls and the remote for the lights on my headboard. Oh, and at the end a surprise $175 fee for the truck on top of the hourly rate. And, let's not forget the tip, which I was pestered about for days because Venmo and Zelle wouldn't work - both were declined to the guy in charge. All in all, I wish I had researched other movers. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

Unstoppable moving made our move seamless. They were very responsive throughout the entire process. Our move consisted of multiple stops and they were quick and efficient. They made sure to handle our belongings with care and wrapped items with blankets that needed extra protection. We were moving into a condo where HOA required our movers to add them to their insurance policy. Jacob worked with his carrier to get this done for us and even offered to split the additional cost of adding our HOA. Even with the additional cost of our HOA insurance requirement, Unstoppable Moving's prices were still very reasonable and competitive. Jacob and his colleague was wonderful. They had the difficult job of moving a new fridge up 16 flights of stairs and an old fridge down those same stairs. He was diligent and methodical with his work. He made sure that the walls and doors will not get damage during the moving process. He ended up having to take the door to the garage out, take out the handles on the old fridge, and all the doors on the new fridge. He also put it back together as it was. He was very responsive with his quote and replied to my questions very quickly. I will definitely use him again for future moves of any future or when I move to a new place. Thanks Jacob! I needed to move my furniture from a storage unit into my new apartment. Jacob gave me a very affordable rate, so we scheduled the appointment over text. The day of the move, I actually forgot the key to my storage unit! So I ended up waiting an hour for a locksmith to come and bust it open. Thanks to Jacob and Andrew being so efficient, we made up for the lost hour and finished on time anyways. Jacob and his team were amazing. We were moving items from storage (about 2 bedroom amount of things) to an apartment. They were prompt in arriving to the storage facility. They worked very quickly to wrap and load things. Everything was handled with care throughout the entire process of loading and unpacking the items into the apartment. I recently used Unstoppable Moving, while moving from my apartment in the city to my new house in Foster city. They made the process so seamless. They were experienced navigating the city and knew right away where to park. They wrapped everything carefully, so that nothing was damaged during transport. Jacob and Andrew were amazing! They showed up early and worked non stop for 5 hours. They wore a mask the entire time and work very efficiently. They were able to load the truck in 2.5 hours and clear out a 3 bedroom house (1800 sq ft). They were very friendly and hardworking. My old building had narrow hallways and difficult corners but they navigated them seamlessly, and worked very quickly, disassembling and reassembling an IKEA couch and bed in record time. They arrived on time, ready to work. They were professional and efficient. Everything made it without incident. I would strongly encourage anyone considering their services to avoid this moving company before making a decision. === I'm leaving a 1-star review to Freedom Movers and will add more details and photos after I fully inspect my belongings. Due to how everything was packed in the storage unit, it's currently impossible to assess damage of items that are not close to the front. If any of my high-value property was damaged, I will pursue legal remedies. To be fair, Eugene worked extremely hard and is clearly experienced, he carried most of the workload in my opinion. Igor was also polite and helpful, but inexperienced and likely still in training. For a move of this size and complexity, assigning a more experienced and balanced crew would have made a big difference. That said, the overall experience was extremely frustrating and at times unacceptable. My wife broke down in tears when we got home from the storage unit. She felt our belongings were treated like garbage, and honestly, I agree. Boxes clearly labeled "FRAGILE" were not handled with the care they required, both during loading and unloading, and many of those boxes got wet. What is the point of taking the time to properly pack and label items like glassware, electronics, printers, and ceramics if everything is going to be treated the same way? Seeing our Peloton bike sitting in the rain for a prolonged period of time was unacceptable. It was partially covered, but still exposed. If I see any damage, we have a problem. Same goes for the Hydrow machine. Both machines combined are worth thousands of dollars. The rain made things more challenging, but several decisions made the situation worse: - Multiple cardboard boxes became wet during loading and unloading - I provided additional blankets and asked the team to use them - However, wet blankets were later left under boxes in the storage unit, causing additional moisture exposure There were also multiple lapses in attention to detail: - Parts of the master bedroom bed were left behind - A drink was spilled on a marble lamp base and a coat hanger stand, and despite being asked to clean it, it was not properly addressed--the marble is now stained - Boxes marked "FRAGILE" were handled poorly - The storage unit was packed with no organization or accessibility in mind--it is now extremely difficult to access anything in the back - The crew left a mess in the building's common areas (tape, gloves, dirt, debris), which we had to clean up ourselves Communication and professionalism were inconsistent. Vlad ignored a direct request regarding how to position a valuable painting and came across as dismissive. At another point, a personal box was opened without my consent to retrieve a tool. I also actively helped during the move, including moving items myself to keep things on track. Despite that, there were moments when no movers were in the apartment. I was assured that all my items would fit in the truck, which turned out to be incorrect. I now have to hire another company to complete the move. Billing was another concern. The move took about 11 hours and 30 minutes. I had no issue rounding up to 12 hours, and I tipped $400. However, mentioning "double time" and adding extra charges felt unreasonable and unclear. As a result, I now have to move to another storage unit, replace wet boxes, and inspect all my belongings for potential damage. This is costing me additional time, money, and effort. I understand the team worked long hours, but this job required attention to detail, professionalism, and respect for the client's property. That standard was not met. I will update this review and add more pictures after I complete a full inspection of my belongings.

Based on my…read moreexperience, the pricing was not transparent, the move was extremely slow, and the overall process became a total disaster. I hired them to move a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with a baby grand piano. The final cost was almost $4,000, which I believe is extremely overpriced for this type of move. The original quote is less than $2000. The movers did continue working, but the pace was very slow. The full move took about 17 hours, far beyond the original 8-hour booking, which resulted in significant additional charges. The piano moving fee was especially frustrating. The listed piano moving charge was $320, but at the end of the day, I was told that the $320 only covered two hours of work. Because three people were involved, the piano took about four hours, and additional fees were added, the piano move alone ended up costing around $1,000. This was not clearly explained upfront, and I consider this a hidden-fee issue. The piano move also did not seem efficient. It took three people about four hours to move the baby grand piano. From my previous experience with professional piano movers, the same type of work took no more than about one hour. This made me question whether they had the right level of piano-moving expertise. The move was also not easy for us as customers. They asked us to move some valuable items ourselves, such as screens, because wrapping and moving them might take longer. As a result, while they were packing and moving, we were also carrying items ourselves. It felt like we became additional unpaid movers during a move that we had already paid professionals to handle. They also used large reusable cloth boxes and required us to empty and return them during the move. This meant that while they were moving other items into the house, we had to clean out and organize those large boxes ourselves. This added a lot of extra physical work and stress. My previous movers used disposable wardrobe or cloth boxes, which made the process much easier. Their labeling was also very poor. They appeared to reuse old boxes that already had marker labels on them, and they did not consistently label every box. Some boxes had missing labels, while others had incorrect or unclear labels. Because of this, we spent the rest of the week trying to figure out where our belongings were. The move was not thorough either. Even after we told them to move an entire room, we still had to take another trip back to collect many small items they left behind. This created more work, more time, and more frustration after an already exhausting move. Overall, this was a terrible moving experience. The final price was much higher than expected, the piano fee was not clearly explained, the move took far too long, and we still had to do a lot of work ourselves before, during, and after the move. I would not hire this company again, and I would warn anyone considering them to think carefully, get every fee in writing, and compare other options first.
