Visited on a Tuesday with my date, and oh boy! We had plenty of drinks and plenty of great tasting tacos. Staff is good, they are checking up on you for drinks and if we wanted more tacos or something else on the menu. This is such a good spot, plenty of patio and inside seating. The two for one happy hour drink deal is no longer a thing! My friends and I had checked their website in the days leading up to our visit on 09/14/19 which had old information about their happy hour. When we went to the bar to order and inquired about the happy hour, the bartender informed us that the happy hour has changed as of a few weeks ago. Instead of 2 for 1 drinks, the drinks are reduced in price. See the attached photo. I got a class of wine for $7 and I think it's normally $11-12. Shots are $5. There are other deals, including food, as well. I came with a large group and we enjoyed ourselves. They have a variety of games available to play. We played a game of Sorry and later I watched my friends play a coin hole game which is a smaller, modified corn hole game. The tables have brown paper and crayons over them, so you can color if you'd like. The crayons are kind of crappy, though. I didn't get any food, but the wings looked good. Tip: Enter from Evans and be sure you check to see if there's a parking spot in their lil lot before you go and park up the hill and have to either hike up or down the hill to get to the bar's entrance. I visited the TWB for the very first time this past Sunday, 08/11. This is where I'd decided to celebrate my bday with friends. It ended up being an all day and all night thing. We had so much to drink but had so much fun. It ended up being a reunion by the end of the night. We arrived at 1PM and didn't leave til almost 10PM. We had 2 for 1 drinks all night and had some food earlier on. I had the waffles with berries. The waffles looked prettier than they tasted but I think that was only because they'd been cooked a bit too long. Their color as beautiful but it was just too crispy and not soft enough. That was a bit of a bummer because I wanted to share it with my lil one but it was just too hard for her. The PLAYBOY is bomb! I loved the fried egg and the tenderness of the chicken. Everything about that dish was just tasty and all the flavors just came together so nicely. I shouldn't ordered that but I'm glad a few people ordered it so that I was able to have a few bites. All the food is served in portions that are more than shareable. The tacos weren't a hit at our table but I think someone had said that was because of all the different flavors. It was just too much going on. The breakfast burrito was DELISH! I had a few bites of that too. There was so much egg in there. It was more than worth it just for that. I loved that the potatoes weren't inside the burrito like I've seen at some places. Everything was nicely balanced and the sauces and salsas and things were so tasty. I had the frozen pomegranate margarita. OOOOHHHH WEEEE. It was not only real tart but it was a pretty good amt of alcohol in there. I had 2 and then moved on to a few of my specialities. Celebrating my birthday, folks were buying me shots. Nice and not something that I'd asked for but was so happy about was when one of the awesome bar tenders served up my shots of Jameson with a splash of sprite in it to cut that burn that hits your nose after the first sip. THANK GOODNESS. I LOVED IT! * SERVICE was awesome and everyone is so much fun. * FOOD was tasty and was more than OK although some folks felt like some things were a hit or miss. I'm not going to say that the food was good for it being a bar. It was honestly tasty. The food was better than I expected, in fact. * PARKING was easy because we were lucky enough to have a spot in the lot * The PATRONS are fun, friendly and chill. Some folks got a lil too turnt with the 2 for 1 drinks and the bottomless mimosas so they ended up super emotional and some ended up crying outside by the dart boards...but that was honestly kinda funny. * KIDS are allowed and I'd say that this is a pretty safe environment... but I can't say that it's the best environment for them if you plan on spending all or much of your time outside. I say that only because folks are smoking out there and you may be the type to worry about the language that your kiddos may hear. So, let's just say that you've been forewarned. This place has become our watering hole every Tuesday. Just a head nod at work and we already know what is happening. My review my be biased because it's always good people and good vibes when we go there. You really can't go wrong with 5$ margs and 2$ tacos howeverrrrr the sleeper on that menu is most definitely the Quesadilla. I would highly recommend it. The tacos that I least liked were the surprisingly the carne asada but loved the fish and brisket and chorizo tacos. Mango margarita definitely hits the spot. If you're willing to be adventurous try half salt and sugar rim. One thing I do wish they did was either not group all the tacos together or at least maybe label or toothpick with labels? Something to distinguish the tacos if you're ordering with a group of friends. read more

My husband and I went for Sunday brunch. We caught a comedy show, Egg on Your Face; it was fun and we had a great time! The day was extremely hot but that didn't ruin our spirits. The food was delicious (I had the eggs bennie and my husband had the huevos rancheros)! While they were down one server, the owner and others there did their best to greet everyone and serve us. Not sure what the deal is here but Anat was the most unpleasant host ever. I would think that a business owner would know how to navigate a busy day or hire someone that would be able to do so. She not only sat us unwillingly with another group of guest, there were plenty of seats available and we were in line able to wait. She rudely snatched the menus from the table without waiting to be answered and continued on her rude rant through the restaurant. I can say this is not the place for me, I will take my business elsewhere where people have manners and know how to speak. I also think the waitress was very dismissive and rude, I tried ordering dessert and she just walked off on me, she forgot my friends drink, and overall I would say didn't really tend the table much after the initial order was made. We were doing an urban mountain bike ride thru LA neighborhoods and our planning had us coming thru Silverlake around lunch hour. Trophy Wife was on the route but not open at the time we needed. We got a hold of the owner and they were able to open early and accommodate us. The patio was great for keeping our bikes secure. This place has always been my one and only favorite place for Taco Tuesday's. Now it's many of my coworkers fave spot too. Close to work after a shift where you can relax and wait for traffic to die down, have good food and good conversations. Who can beat $2 tacos and $5 margaritas? They always have blended Margarita's in hand, my usual is the STRAWBERRY or MANGO margarita, no salt on the rim. I have tried all the tacos on their Taco Tuesday HH menu and my favorites are the shrimp, fish, and I think the short rib. Their BANDITA QUESADILLA is a MUST, bomb! The chips and guac are also good to munch on with a group of friends. As for DRAFT BEERS: the BELCHING BEAVER PEANUT BUTTER STOUT is also astoundingly yummy. My crew of friends are always changing because nurses are always traveling to other hospitals but when new nurses or doctors are in town, I am always sure to show them this place whenever we have down time because I want to support local businesses and this place never lets us down in quality of food or service! Visited Trophy's for the first time to watch my favorite football team play as it was not on tv. I had a disappointing and subpar experience. First, no waiter or waitress came by to take my order for over 20 minutes. Second, when a mean looking waitress finally came over (she looked at me like I had just kicked her dog), I declined her request to give my credit card for a tab (as I have had bad experiences before when doing so at other businesses) and instead said I would pay in cash, the waitress demanded I pay the bill before the food even came out. Third, the bill charged mandatory 18% for tip in the main part of the bill (along with the food) even though I was there by myself. And obviously as a trap for intoxicated customers, the bill had a separate line to write in a tip as well. Fourth, 2 of the 5 main screens were placed so that they have huge amounts of glare on them so that more than half the picture screen on each was very difficult to see. Of course the game that i came to see was only shown on one of those glare-blinding screens. Fifth, although covid delta is still going around, I was one of the only people in the whole place who brought my mask. None of the half dozen or so wait staff was wearing a single mask. Sixth, when I told the waitress it was my first visit and asked her for a food recommendation, she unhelpfully said "Everything is great!" Seventh, the brisket tacos that I ordered had very little brisket. The only redeeming quality of this place is there were a few fellow fans of my team to cheer together with. when planning a move here in late 2019/early 2020, we would come here on weekends to grab a beer, watch the game, and we really enjoyed it. Felt like you were hanging in a buddy's back yard, hanging with friends. if this is still the same place (and I am definitely not convinced it is under the same management), then that 'buddy' had a rough pandemic, and the attitude towards their customers shows that in rare awfulness. Walking in was confusing. Lots of trash on the floor and chaos, but we got past that. ordering was straightforward, once we finally picked our own table - but the bartender poured the wrong thing. easy fix, right? wrong. instead of just fixing it, we got eye rolls, we got attitude, and then after finally agreeing to pour what we ordered, she ended up gsending the original mistake she so forcibly wanted us to take to avoid fixing her eff up. we have all had buddies that went astray. best approach is to always wish them well and move on. and that is my plan with this mess read more

Never been to silver lake before but after this experience I think I will be back way more often. I really enjoyed coming to trophy wife bar for brunch on Sunday. First of all this place was not crowded and it even had five parking spaces. Otherwise you can park on the hill next to the restaurant. The service was so amazing. I didn't catch the name of our server but he made sure my bottomless mimosas was never empty. It's a good place for large parties and they hAve had a great deal of 2 for 1 drinks and 15 dollars for mimosas on Sundays. I really appreciated how they leave you alone to enjoy your conversation with you party. We ordered the Playboy which is like a chicken katsu sandwhich with a fried egg and comes with your choice of salad, potatoes, or french fries. Planned to go there to watch the Dodgers, and found the parking lot a sea of tables; some tables inside; but for some reason, no access to the bar. They *could* have done it; but chose not to[?] A *very* peculiar host greeted me, but did not seem the slightest bit actually interested in helping me find a seat to watch the game. I had to sit at an uncomfortable high-top. Also, the bathrooms don't have hooks for your purse; that's just rude.
