This place was so great, we ate here twice and I'm more of an exotic eater when I travel. I was surprised the gluten free crust was the same cost as a regular pizza, which almost isn't the case most pizza places. The regular dough was also really fluffy and the right dough to toppings ratio. We had the GF pepperoni with NM peppers, the reg crust everything, and then some. Legitimate. We had the Sunny Chicken Pesto and the Meat Treat. The Sunny had a nice blend of flavors to compliment the chicken and pesto. It was cooked professionally with a solid crust that was hearty but not too thick (for a regular pizza) and an idea mix of crunch and chew. We have been frequent customers of both locations, but the Eldorado location is going downhill rapidly. Tonight might be the last visit unless they get some decent management. We waited from 7:00 to 8:40 for a simple small pizza, which they made wrong and had to remake, meanwhile a couple of customers came, ordered, ate and left and several drive through came and left, but we were still waiting. Totally not trying to be snobby, I swear! I visited Santa Fe from New York and had crazy pizza cravings. I had little no to expectations for a decent slice and Upper Crust had good reviews, so we ordered. I got a plain cheese pizza and my friend ordered a sandwich. Ordered from here twice while in SF recently. The selections are pretty wide...lots of local options (read: green chile), plus the more traditional ones you might find. The crust is perfect; chewy and crispy where it needs to be, not over or under done, which is hard to do when you have that much goodness on top. Prices are reasonable, too. About what you'd pay for a chain, and they deliver promptly with no delivery charge. Since they often deliver to the tourists, they're so thoughtful in including paper plates, packets of cheese/red pepper flakes, and napkins. Pretty handy when you've been tromping the hills and all over town, and just don't feel like fighting the dinner crowds. Give it a try; you won't be disappointed! read more

I'm a fan. We ordered a vegetarian pizza on a wheat crust and it was delicious. The veggies were fresh, and the sesame seeds added a nice touch. The wheat crust also made me feel slightly guilt-free about eating a pizza. The employee who served us, Roxanne, was super nice and helpful. I saw a few hater reviews for this place, and those people maybe don't realize that in Santa Fe - you are going to pay Santa Fe prices. Beer is the same price across town, and so is the food. Excellent Pizza! We had them deliver and even though we were out of their delivery area, Upper Crust obliged on a pretty snowy day. Yeah! We ordered 2 pies - Combo and the Meat Treat. The crust and red sauce were just about perfect. My favorite was the Combo which was sort of an all meat pizza with green chile. Not sure, I understand some of the negative reviews. They are moronic. So, these brainiac tourists are upset beacuse they decided on a pizza instead of some authentic local cuisine and it wasn't as good as whatever they get back home. Frickin-genius. Here is the bottom line, if you are in Santa Fe and you crave pizza, Upper Crust rocks. I believe that I caught Covid at Upper Crust when one of the servers ran around the restaurant openly sneezing. Two days later I had a very bad "cold" and coughing fits. After that I had severe aches all over my body. I complained to the Manager and tried to contact the Owner. BTW he never called back. I am pursuing this matter with the Health Department and advise no one to enter this building or order pizza as I believe that they do not care about basic health regulations. My sister was visiting from Los Angeles so we drove up to Santa Fe for Meow Wolf. We were headed to a nearby restaurant when my sisters saw Upper Crust and decided they wanted pizza. I have to admit I was a bit iffy on it from the get go because I really trust Yelp reviews and it didn't seem promising. But I obliged my sisters' wishes and so here we ate. The guy taking orders at the counter was grody and kept fidgeting with the drawstring on his sweatpants. Yes, sweatpants. We even got a peek at his hairy belly. My boyfriend ordered the Italian calzone sans tomato. We were then told all the calzones were made in the morning so that couldn't be done. Blegh. Pre-made food with a high price tag. So he opted to build a calzone. No option for a single slice of pizza so I had to order a small pizza for my 5 year old. That ran me about $15 for a tiny, personal sized pizza. They have a Greek salad on the menu, but no Greek dressing. Weird. They also have a salmon salad but I thought I'd play it safe by ordering a chef salad. $50 to feed 2 adults and a child, no beverages. We decided to sit on the back patio and while walking through the restaurant, I'm glad I didn't order that salmon salad. The floor was filthy and littered with crumbs, a toothpick, a crumpled napkin. I understand having a messy floor after a restaurant has had a big lunch or dinner rush... but then I realized they had only been open for 45 minutes. So how often is this place getting a thorough cleaning? And what does that say about the kitchen? *insert vomiting emoji here please* Pizza was pretty good. I ended up at Upper Crust the way I suspect most people do: You are near the Plaza. You are starving. You are looking for a somewhat inexpensive meal, or at least inexpensive by Santa Fe standards. You have just survived what feels like the World's Longest Drive across New Mexico and are in need of some serious comfort food. OK, maybe that last one is just me. Pizza sounded so good before the bombardment of green chilies that I knew was to come in the days ahead. We ordered half pepperoni, half cheese. Kinda boring, but like I said above: comfort food. It took a while to come out but hey, it's pizza. If it's any good, you're usually going to wait. Plus, we were enjoying the evening air on the patio, so we didn't mind. Now, I like a thicker crust on a pizza. And unfortunately, every decent pizza place in my town insists upon offering only the thinnest version of New York-style crust. So when I saw that the Upper Crust pie had a more substantial crust, I was excited. And it was...good. Not the best, but it was refreshing to have a different style of pizza. The large was sufficient enough to feed two very hungry people with enough for leftovers. Santa Fe has so many excellent dining options that I wouldn't necessarily make a point to seek out Upper Crust. But if you have a pizza craving, it will definitely hit the spot. read more

Great pizza! Love the wheat crust and green chilies. They tend to be REALLY busy, particularly on weekends. Delivery orders can take 45-60 minutes but are completely worth it. If you dine-in, either get there early, don't come too hungry or get a salad. Pizza is terrific and worth the wait. I ordered four pizzas for a class party at my college, and I was a little but disappointed. The disappointment came from hearing things like, "upper crust is awesome!!" and "upper crust is the best pizza in Santa Fe!" If Upper Crust IS the best pizza in Santa Fe, I am disheartened -- not because it's inedible, but because it's definitely not memorable. And those babies are expensive!! I think a large is 15'' and most of my larges were around $21. That's a pretty pricy pizza! The crust... which... Loved the pizza crust at this pizzeria. It was crispy and helds it's crunch through to the end. I'm Italian and very rarely find pizzerias who know what they're doing when it comes to the base. Have spent many years in the Santa Fe and Taos on vacation. Fortunately these towns are stacked full of great food and drink. If we are in the mood for pizza which does happen after being here for a few weeks, we typically head to the Taos Outback which is notorious for a great slice. That being said, we stopped by the Upper Crust today and were pleasantly surprised by their pizza. My wife and ordered the Combo which included pepperoni, olives, green chiles and mushrooms. The pizza is as good as usual, and the delivery speed is good. However, the delivery man self tipped, whom I did not get the chance to meet. The school staff member told me that the pizza delivery man got pissed off by students who does not pick up phone immediately. (mostly because we don't receive service on the campus)So he just started to self-tip. (Regardless I picked up the phone immediately) I understand that he has maybe his own reasons to do so. Between my wife, I, and my family eating at their Old Santa Fe Trail and their recently opened U.S. Route 285 locations, they always offer great service and fresh food alike! Earlier today at their Route 285 location, my wife and I "built" our own pizza with pepperoni and pineapple on a classic Upper Crust pizza crust with crunch and well-layered sauce. Without a doubt, it was one of the best pizzas we've had in months! Totally worth the stopover, alongside a refreshing selection of New Mexico-crafted beers such as La Cumbre, Marble, and Santa Fe brewing companies. You don't have to travel to downtown Santa Fe for quality pizzas any longer. Oh, and at both locations, you can order salads, sandwiches, and calzones, too. read more

We got there at 9:30 pm, they completely ignored us! On yelp and their sign outside it said they didn't close until 10 pm. All the lights were on and 3 employees wouldn't even look at us. I tried both, and for the first time in my life could not tell the difference. Not in flavor, appearance or size. And there was no extra charge for the gluten-free pizzas either. Not a big deal but would've like to try it. We ordered a half veggie (for me) / half meat lovers (for my wife). The meat lovers was good but the veggie was bland. The problem was too much cheese and not enough sauce. So the delicate flavors of the veggies were drowned out but the cheap cheese they use. Now the beer selection was worth very good. Local brews and decent selection. Cashier was helpful enough to recommend the excellent Santa Fe Brewery Comp's Hefeweizen.
