We had a great experience here. We had a pepperoni pizza, Greek salad, and one of the local brews. The service was quick and friendly, even to obvious out-of-towners like us. I have never been more compelled to write a Yelp review. I am new to Santa Fe, moved here from the east coast. I naturally looked up the best place to get a good pizza, and somehow the Upper Crust name came up. I have tried both locations, and haven't come close to a good experience. First and foremost--the pizza is just not good. Santa Fe, Eldorado, doesnt matter. Because the pizza sucks, the price is a joke. What is going on here? Why do people here keep paying so much for such a bad product? smh I don't get it. Honestly don't say this to hate, but after trying 4 times, that is more than enough times of feeling like a literally threw money in the garbage. I even tried a meatball sub, and it was so bad! They offer beer on tap which is good. They deliver to a limited area which is good. The employees are pretty hip and cool which is good. They have a centralized downtown location which is good. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is good. They offer a whole wheat crust, which tastes pretty terrible... But simply enough, ever since Back Road Pizza came to town, I stopped eating pizzas from Upper Crust. The taste difference of every pizza offered alone dropped me from the list of fans of Upper Crust... I feel bad about it, but there's simply a better pizza place in town and Upper Crust has dropped the ball in being relevant to me. read more

This pizza was just amazing! The crust was perfection, the sauce was spot on and packed full of flavor, and the toppings were fresh and full of flavor. It's a bit pricy but worth every penny. After driving 8 miles into town to pick up and husband specifically telling them that I cannot have blue cheese, they somehow decide to give me blue cheese dressing (rather than the advertised vinaigrette) and blue cheese crumbles. When we got back to our hotel and I opened my salad, I called them. They told me that I could either go to the grocery store or drive back into town for salad dressing. $8.50 for a spinach salad that I can't eat... The guy on the phone hung up on me. It's not rocket science; you screw up an order, offer to take the charge off the card or invite the customer to come back for a salad or small pizza on the house another day. We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant which is rare in the winter time. They were so nice to accommodate us on the patio under the sun, turned on the patio music and promptly served us, checking up on us outside periodically with our pups. I'm a Santa Fe resident and I've been to this restaurant in the past and have enjoyed the atmosphere. Usually I call for delivery though. Overall, I like the flavors although I've never thought the crust thin or crispy enough. My problem is with the delivery: fortunately. they usually tell you about how long it will take, which is good but the last few times, I had the same delivery guy who looked at me askance, looked like he wished he was anywhere but at my door and just generally made me feel uncomfortable (do I really look that scary in my at-home attire?). Came here late on a Sunday, as many places were closed. Had pizza and a dinner salad in our party. The salad didn't look especially outstanding, but was surprisingly tasty. Their pizza crusts are the way I like them, not too thin, but crispy on the outside and a little bit of softness inside. At about 1:30 PM I was told delivery would take 45 minutes, and it did. I'd ordered a large combo pizza with a "wheat" crust, made with a mixture of white and whole wheat flour. The cost was $22 and I tipped the guy $4. It arrived warm, not hot.The colors of the toppings were reassuringly vivid and the crust was browned to perfection--it was the prettiest delivery pizza I'd seen in a long time. Crust: Thicker than a New York thin slice, denser than a California or Naples style crust. Good chew. Slightly nutty flavor from the whole wheat, which is probably also the reason for the density, since all-white flour has an airier rise. Cheese: Eh. Toppings: The pepperoni is all right, and the olives are the brined-and-sliced variety, with a lovely curl from a hot oven. The green chiles look terrific but taste like not much. Sauce: A problem. No detectable tomato taste in a mouthful of this pie, despite a bright red sauce visible everywhere. Undersalted to my taste. Verdict: A classic American pizza lives and dies on three elements: crust, cheese, sauce. I give the crust a 7 out of 10, the cheese a 4, and the sauce a 3, making this one solidly average pizza. read more

It's hard to give a good rating for service at a place without wait service, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good, but not great. The pizza didn't have much sauce, and the supposed smoked salmon turned out to be grilled. They had a good selection of local beers and wines. What a great pizza! Had lunch here having tired a bit of SW cuisine. Had a veggie pizza and a Cesar salad: both excellent. Beer selection was good, too, but had to drive to Albuquerque so had to abstain. Had a look at other pizzas sailing by and they all looked awesome. Can you guys move to Seattle? As an east coast native, I came in with low expectations for a southwestern pizza joint. I tried the BBQ chicken pizza. The peppers and crust were very good, while the chicken was a bit sparse. Unfortunately the BBQ sauce overpowered the other toppings. It was also a bit pricey at $22 for a large pie. Overall it was an okay meal, but nothing special. read more
