Went inside found a couple good items but I find it pretty deplorable that they're selling a Black Lives Matter T-shirt for $100... this isn't a thrift shop most can go to it's a gentrified shop lol Edit: Owner decided to respond to me saying that it's deplorable for them to sell a T-shirt for $100, said it was because of the resell value... This place is amazing for buying things. They have really good brands in really good condition for a very reasonable price. However if you're here to sell be prepared to get taken over the coals. I brought in brand new , sold out boots valued at 250 bucks and they had the nerve to look me in the eye and say 39 bucks . I bet you have to make a profit but even if you sold them at 150 you could have offered me something better. The boots in question don't resell because their brand spanking new , just sold out and no one wants to sell theirs . I just have monster calves lol. I brought in high end brand stuff in good condition and they turned it down which they have every right to do . However I don't abide by short handing a person that much on the value of an item . So sellers beware this is not the place for you if you're looking to make any kind of money at all. Buyers have fun. read more

I was scared to come here as a first time seller just because a few of the recent reviews said the workers were rude. I felt the workers were super friendly and explained everything well! Not gonna lie you're not making a ton of money here and you shouldn't expect that as you're literally making 45% of what they price your items for. They offered my sister $20 for light worn docs (pass) and me $30 for 9 items (sold). My bag was still full and it was all clothes that didn't fit anymore, but yeah I would recommend to people selling stuff they don't want. read more

Set aside some time and spend it at Uptown Cheapskate, there is so much to browse through. My daughter and I had a blast and found tons of cute clothes and accessories. They have everything! We especially loved the layout of the store. The clothes are sorted by style, color and size! There were plenty of employees working so if you needed help it was no problem. The dressing rooms are very nice and appreciated because a lot of thrift store don't have them anymore. The store is well organized, clean and everyone we talked to was super friendly. They also buy back clothes and there were a lot of customers there for that. From what I could tell, that merchandise was getting tagged and put out right away, so new stuff is put out constantly! Went in for the first time to sell some things I didn't need anymore. It looked like a really nice place--decent sized shop and organized. Since I was selling for the first time, I called beforehand to make sure I was doing it right. I asked the following questions and these were the answers I got over the phone: - Do I need an appointment? No - Are you looking for specific items or can I bring in anything? Yes, anything that has been on trend in the last couple of years, that you might see at school or in an office, good condition, etc. - Do they need to be on a hanger or does it matter? No, it doesn't matter. So I lug my stuff all the way there (some brand new things like from Banana Republic and Ann Taylor still with the tag on). They didn't accept any of the items (which is okay), but I wished the answers over the phone offered correct information. No, you don't need an appoint. But nothing too formal (like work skirts or suit pants, button down blouses, formal dresses like for prom, or even cute summer dresses). I think they're looking for more casual things, but I wished I was told nothing too formal over the phone cuz that would have saved me a lot of trouble. Also, no hangers please! This was completely the opposite of what the lady on the phone said. Sigh. Not a big deal, but super inconvenient. read more

Not shopping here ever again. I came in today to buy a bathing suit. There was barely any matching sets but I find one that seems like a good deal. The price on the tag is 12.99. I go to ring it up and the guy charges me 12.99 for both the top and the bottom even though it came in a set and the tag literally says 2 piece. I didn't buy 2 separate swim suit pieces. So I said whatever i haven't bought a swim suit in years anyways. Then I have a hassle paying because they only take cards with the chip on it. So I had to add my card to Apple Pay. Then the guy just hands me the swim suit with the hangers and security tag and everything but I didn't even notice the security tag until I got home since it did not go off when I was walking out of the store. So I proceed to drive back to get the security tags taken off and the same exact people are there. Some lady sorting out the clothes by the register and the young man that rang me up. The lady proceeds to interrogate me giving me a dirty look assuming I stole the swim suit. The guy comes up right behind her and I say "um he helped me" and she still proceeds to treat me like a thief. When the young man rang me up he asked if I wanted a receipt and I said NO! I told the lady that and proceeded to show her my Apple Pay transaction which shows my charge there and even the young man is verifying it. She says "well then why does she have the hangers" in a very rude tone. I don't know lady maybe because that's just how the guy handed it to me? She went to look on the computer and saw that yes I DID purchase the swim suit. The young man took off the security tag and I apologize to him in case I got him in trouble and he apologized back. While the lady that was being rude and interrogating me just ignored me and didn't even apologize. After this experience I will not be going back and it's over priced anyway if they're gonna charge you double for something that's a matching set. read more

Uptown Cheapskate is my new favorite consignment store. I'm SERIOUSLY impressed with their selection and pricing. They have a huge, HUGE selection of women's clothing in top-notch condition. Their clothing is sorted by color, size, and they also had free standing racks of Free People and Lululemon items. SCORE! Super happy to see tons of Paige/Hudson/Madewell jeans. My major score was a pair of Agolde jeans, brand new with tags, for $45...retailing at Revolve for $138. They had some amazing bags in the store too. Lots of Kate Spade, Coach, Michael Kors, and Dooney & Bourke at super, super reasonable prices. Honestly, there is something for everyone here. What I really appreciate about Uptown Cheapskate is that their prices are FAIR. Sometimes I'll walk into a thrift/consignment store with prices that do not reflect the quality of the item or brand...or are basically the same price as what a new item would be! I picked up quite a bit of things to try and felt like everything was super reasonably priced. Also, 99% of everything I saw in the store was in excellent condition. No stinky t-shirts or gross stains found. If anything, I think there were a few dated items, nothing too crazy though. The staff are super friendly as well! 4 star rating only because their pants section is separated by Small/Medium/Large, not by the size, which makes it kind of a pain to search. Other than that, the store is super well organized and honestly FILLED with good stuff! They also have a great little rewards program. Throughout your birthday month, you get 15% each time you visit! They also have an "Uptown Cheapskate" cash program where if you spend X amount, you get a coupon for $5 cash back in the store. If you refer a friend, you get $5 credit added to the account.
