If I could give them 0 stars I would. There are no positive adjectives for this restaurant's food. This is NOT New York pizza. They are false advertising. The pizza is extremely flimsy and not crunchy at all, and it was eaten in the store. The flavor is bland and I needed to add garlic to make it have any flavor. The margarita pizza was just white pizza with tomatoes and basil on it. Speaking of, THERE WAS NO BASIL The supreme pizza wasn't even mentionable. The plain pizza was ok, but again, the lack of any crunch in any of the pizzas was extremely disappointing. The subs were extremely bland and was minuscule. If you have ever had NY pizza, don't come here. If you haven't, be happy in your ignorance. read more

My boyfriend and I came for a last minute bite before we headed back home. The food and the service was exceptional, and there was an awesome live band playing. I overheard the man who I believe was the owner, talking about their new vegan options that they are adding to the menu which was perfect as I am a vegan. He informed me of all the options and I went ahead and ordered the spaghetti with the vegan Italian sausage and it did not disappoint! My boyfriend said the pizza was delicious and something about the pepperoni was (Italian finger kiss). We will definitely be back again next time we come out! read more

Damn good pizza in the sunny south. Straight recommendation is the Margherita Pizza. This pizza is loaded with garlic and cheese, plus thin-sliced, very fresh tomatoes. Add a salad with italian dressing and you've got good eats for two meals. Their other pizzas are also very good. The sauce is excellent and the ingredients are always fresh and aplenty. Call ahead if you can because they tend to be busy and the wait can be long if you order in the store. The only knock is that they are a little pricey. Doesn't keep me away. read more

I got a 16" pizza to go. There were two people working the counter - a young girl and an older gentlemen. The girl had in unbelievable attitude. Almost funny how unpleasant she acted toward me and my daughter: frowning, unhappy, barely any eye contact. The older gentleman seemed nicer to people. Took about 15 minutes or so to get the pizza. The pizza was ok. Not tasty, but not bad. I'd recommend this place to pick up a quick slice if you're real hungry. Weakest NY pizza I've ever eaten. First mistake, way too much cheese on the pizza. Waaaaayyyyy too much damn cheese. The top of the pizza should be orange, not ghostly white with 2 inches of cheese. The sauce was decent. The crust was excellent. They don't cook on a screen, so the consistency is damn near perfect. They just need to work on the quality of their cheese (they use Classico, not Grande), the amount of cheese (they could probably cut food costs by 25% if they'd lighten up a bit) and add a little more zing to that sauce. Second mistake, freakin' Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia all over the walls. I don't know jack about football, but just by reading the walls in there, I concluded that the Steelers have won 6 Super Bowls, have had a boat-load of all stars and play in Heinz Field. Meanwhile, I learned NOTHING about New York. Amongst the almost vulgar amount of "black n yellow, black n yellow" stuff on the walls, there was one lone 1955 Dodgers vs. Yankees World Series poster. Sad. Maybe the owner is selling Pittsburgh style pizza, but didn't think anyone would eat there if that's what the sign said? Next time in St. Augustine, I will definitely NOT be visiting Borrillo's. He asked me what did I want him to do about it? Me... um nothing no worries. Obviously good service and good customer service is not a priority here. On my first night in St. Augustine, I decided to drop in for some pizza. There really wasn't a line, it was more like a mob of sardines inside a can. And they had just one girl working the counter and two kids in the kitchen; they really needed more people working that night, so I have to take a star off for poor organization. Anyway, I went with the chicken parmesan pizza. Despite every table being filled and at least a dozen people waiting for to go orders, it only took about 15 minutes for the pizza to come out, which was pretty good timing. The crust had that combination of chewiness and crispiness that any good thin crust pizza must have. There was a copious amount of chicken as well and the tomato sauce was light and flavorful. Ordered food to takeaway from here tonight. Showed up to pick it up and it was honestly the most chaotic thing we've seen. Pizza and meatballs were done 18 minutes before the salad and garlic bread, and the pizza was missing one topping we paid for. Despite paying online with a card, the food was under the name "Nancy" and at first, they weren't willing to give it to us. I think the food might have been good if the hot stuff hand not sat for almost 20 minutes before the cold thing (salad) was ready. Best NY style pizza outside of NYC. The fresh cheese and dough was very noticeable. Price leaves much to be desired, over $50 for two pizzas, medium supreme and large cheese (half pepperoni). The restaurant itself is pretty neat, you can see the cooks tossing dough and working the brick oven from a large window on the exterior. read more

She smiled at my friend & was kind of nice to my husband (probably because he left her a $15.00 tip), but I managed to get the death stare for no apparent reason. Whatever no big deal.... As for our food, everything was okay. The pizza took a while to cook. Maybe they forgot about it. It was horribly burned on the bottom. See photo. The sweet tea was too sweet, which says a lot from someone who loves soda and anything sweet. The place was basically empty, which is a bad sign. We ordered our pizza with mushrooms & we got canned, slimy mushrooms. I don't think I will ever understand why pizza places do this aside from being "cost effective." We also ordered garlic bread, which came out after our pizza which was fine -- but it was absolutely bland. We were disappointed overall. It bummed me out because my husband used to LOVE this place. He'd go there after long surf days. What a shame, but I don't think we will be returning. I would have given Borrillo's one star, but I've had a good experience in the past (which was well over a year ago), so I'm giving them an additional star for the past good experience I've had. The food was good. We had a cheese pizza and a chicken roll. It took them 20 minutes to take our order and after another hour, we asked the server where our food was. She checked and came back apologizing saying it would be another 4-5 min. When it came out, the food was hot and very tasty (albeit we were really hungry at that point) we also had 3 draft beers and a Pepsi. The bill came and they were asking for $70! We were very surprised by the total and asked the server to itemize the bill. This took another 15 - 20 min and she came back still saying it was $70. At this point we were tired of the whole thing and threw the money on the table and left. We have since totaled the whole bill according to their menu and it should have been 55.08 including tax. Very competent pizza. Big problem. Was there on a Friday afternoon pre concert at the Amp and lo and behold no second beer available. why? We done ranout of CO2. How in barley's sake do you mismanage your CO2 stock?For a place with beer and wine garden in is name this is tantamount to a hospital forgetting to have Oxygen. I spoke to the waitress and indicated that at my house with my kegerator, that I have an extra bottle of CO2. Her response was seriously? She then ghosted us after telling us that she had worked in a bar in Philadelphia as if somehow that should excuse all crimes at her current establishment. Any reputable restaurant should have ensconced their staff with authorityto provide a complementary glass of wine or bottled beer if they are going to fail to have an adequate beer delivery system. Don't go there for the politeness of their staff, the pizza is great. But it really puts a cloud over the afternoon when I place runs out of beer particularly in light of their name Man up and be polite to customers if you run out of beer or CO2. No excuse to Ghost the table just because of the Owner's eff up. She said the owner was out hunting for the precious gas. Food is excellent! I had the Italian salad and it was huge. My husband ordered the Philly. He said it was one of the best he's had. They have a cute little outdoor patio. We ate outside late on a Saturday night while they had music on the patio. The servers were busy so we ordered at the counter inside but I was ok with it. Great for families.
