For a door that was wrong size in thickness and the salesman failed to advise us.and the salesman (behzad) told us that the door comes with moldings but when their recommended installer picked up the door there were no moldings.so I went back asking for them but he said they don't have any more.I explained to him that was part of the purchase but he simply said it's not.so the installer ran to Home Depot and bought some white none matching wood to just finish the job.make story short 5200. The selection of the doors are great and there is a wide variety of options and styles. There are a couple long term employees who are very knowledgeable and helpful. The door is a 4 star. The customer service and loading process is a zero star. Bring your own ties, blankets and wraps when picking up the doors. Better yet bring also 3 or 4 strong friends and load it yourself!! When loading make the employees clearly communicate the loading plan and confirm your understanding of the plan. We purchased a double entrance door and had the sides of the truck covered with blankets. The employee put two pieces of cardboard on the blankets for an extra layer. When the two employees went to load the door on the sides of the truck there was no communication and the cardboard was caught by the edge of the door and the blankets and most of the cardboard was pushed off the other side. They barely made sure the door was on the truck before they left. We readjusted the door frame and blankets to provide as much cushion as possible, strapped it down and drove the 13 miles to our house on side streets. Very slowly!!! The doors also did not have the safety screw to keep the doors from swinging in the frame. The door is half glass and the stress on the door hinges could have easily damaged the door and the glass. The employees don't have any customer service awareness when loading so load with care. read more

Thier Warranty is absolute worst. Ordered Double Pannel front door. After installation, notice the panels grill patterns do not match. Took pictures took it back to Urban Doors in Tustin. They told me to fill a warranty claim form and send it their Warranty Department. Their Warranty Department agreed that the panels need to be replaced. However, over a year later and 33 email exchanges, I am still waiting for the replacement doors. Went to Urban Doors multiple times to enquire about the doors and all they are telling me is that they only sell the doors and the company the covers the warranty is another entity which they don't have any control over it. read more

Urban Doors is a legitimate business with good people working there. They provide a solid product for the price point. I could not find a better made to order exterior front door in the style I wanted for the price I paid. Now, my experience with Urban Doors was good overall in hindsight. There was some miscommunication at times, but the product got delivered with a 2 week delay (not that bad at all in the big scope of things). I decided from the start to use one of Urban Door's preferred independent installers, J&J Installs. J&J was always responsive and pleasant to talk to and wanted the business. They came out and took measurements and based on that I went to Urban Doors Tustin and placed an order. The door was better than I expected in some ways (overall styling of the custom door was better than i expected) but also worse in some ways (for example, I had to shape parts of a missing corner edge myself with wood putty as it had been chipped off a sidelight. this was a little frustrating, and I'm not sure if the door was put together that way or if J&J damaged it during transport and install). Part of the reason I was comfortable buying a door from Urban Doors is that I bought an unfinished door knowing the door could be prepped and made paint ready even if the door wasn't in perfect condition. Was the effort of going through Urban Doors worth it? For me, yes. I wanted the best bang for the buck I could get, meaning the best pricing I could find for the style of door I wanted. I saved several thousands getting the style of door I wanted compared to prices the white glove door people on Yelp charge. That's what this company offers so Urban Doors met my expectations and delivered on what I was looking for despite communication hiccups and some frustration at times leading up to delivery. read more

We bought what we thought was a quality door from Urban Door in 2021. It is a beautiful, rustic, arched door that is the main entrance to our house. IT WAS NOT CHEAP! Now, after 4 years, we have a crack in our door that you could stick a credit card through despite this being a North-facing door with a 12-foot overhang to protect it from the weather. Like so many others who've written reviews, I've now learned that Urban has only one employee who handles warranties (so responses take weeks). She requires everyone to provide pictures and detailed descriptions of the problem before she tells you the bad news -- YOUR DOOR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, and there is nothing we can do! After reading other reviews with the same problem, I can only conclude that Urban Doors uses inferior wood products and cheap assembly techniques because THEIR DOORS ARE FALLING APART! They offer no sympathy, support, or any recommendations on what to do. Their mantra is (according to their sole warranty person), "We are a manufacturer and do not have employees to do jobsite repairs." Look elsewhere for your door, my friend! read more

DO NOT use this company unless you want a door that you will need to replace same day! I am a contractor of 32 years and I have never had such a horrible experience! I bought a custom pre hung double door on 8/27/24, stated 6 weeks out at most which was not the case. You have to keep calling to finally receive. When Urban Doors finally received Brian stated my apologies but they forgot some parts. I asked if this is standard and he stated no but the manager felt bad and will use other same parts from another order that was not ready now. On 10/17/24 the installer Alex who they recommended arrived with it for install. I was so happy for this was the last improvement on my new house that I bought in April 2024 that was being done. I went through 5 months of construction for the house was not livable. Alex opened the boxes and we inspected, the doors were filthy and it had rained and was gloomy out however from what we all three could see they looked fine. Once installed, I asked them if they were going to clean and they stated no, not part of their job so as they loaded there truck I had to use a blower first to get the bulk of the dust and dirt off. Then I used microfiber towels to clean, some a little wet and dry for they were very dirty. As I did this, I noticed an odd purple like line about 3" long so I immediately yelled to the installers to see as I cleaned it more. Alex was shocked, stated that it appears it has been cracked when made and that they tried to repair in house. He stated call them immediately and send them photos and most likely they will have to replace. I was so sad for again this was the last project being done and I had a housewarming party coming up. I sent to Brian at Urban Doors same day 10/17 and he apologized and said Helen would take care of it but it has to go through warranty claims. Warranty claims I stated, it was installed hours ago and clearly I didn't buy a new damaged custom door and need it replaced. Helen did not email back until the next week for I had to email her again on status, that is when she replied it has to go through investigation and would get back to me in 3 to 5 business days and again nothing for quite some time until I emailed again and then I received the email that they are denying the claim! I was livid, confused and couldn't understand. Number one reason is that they don't warranty a door facing south and my overhang wasn't long enough number two. What does this have to do with a new door that was cracked when made and they tried to cover it up by repairing it professionally which made it hard for anyone to see especially because door was so dirty. Last excuse was we should have caught it and never installed. Again only a professional door company would see due to the cover up and that would only be when cleaned. I have been going back and forth with them and Helen finally said it's denied but will send to upper management and see what they say. Last week I received an email it was still denied! With that being said months later I have a door that I do not want for it is on the door you open right across from handle and everyone one that sees the door from far away loves but when they go to open they say Michelle your door is cracked with a purple color and I have to say I know the company won't replace since installed so I have to buy a new door. This door installed was almost $3,200! This is unacceptable and now I will fight it as much as humanly possible for this is not right! DO NOT shop here! read more

In 2023 I purchased a double door entry system from urban doors in Tustin California. This also included the pre-fabricated jamb and threshold. The doors are 2 1/4 inches thick 6'8" tall and made of mahogany. I paid for urban Doors to do the finishing of the doors and the jamb and threshold unit, which was also made out of mahogany. The threshold was oak. Now taken into consideration, that as a younger man, I worked in the custom home industry in Southern California, selling custom doors, windows, molding and hardware to builders that were building homes in southern California's most prestigious neighborhoods. Upon delivery of the doors and door jamb unit immediately noticed how thin the oak threshold was in addition to the fact that I could see that the threshold already had indications that it was splitting. upon the inspection of the finish that they had applied to the jamb and doors, I immediately took note that it was not of the quality that was going to stand up to the test of time. Within 60 days after installation, the threshold began to split and within six months the finish on the doors began to fade. My attempt to file a claim was met with an almost immediate denial. I have already found a quality craftsman that will refinish the doors. He noted that they should have never used that piece of oak for the threshold. He said he could try to repair the threshold but it may continue to split. I have two French door units at the back of my house. Both have Oak thresholds, both have been installed for almost 30 years and neither one has shown any indications similar this product produced and sold by urban doors. To replace the threshold would require complete removal of the doors and the door frame and then reinstallation. The cost would probably be close to $1000, and more than likely more than that. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed that I made the decision to buy anything from this company. Don't make the same mistake. I'd be happy to show you my doors and threshold anytime. We ordered a door on 11/10/21. They said it would be ready in 5-6 weeks (that would be Dec 22nd. It's now January 19th and we can't get any info on our doors. Our salesperson was Gene. Every time we call they say he is busy with a customer and will call us right back. After 10 calls over 3 weeks, still no call from him to let us know what happened to our doors. They have our payment and don't seem to care about us getting the door. The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one is that IF they have your door in Stock, they do have great prices. This rating is purely around my shopping experience since I just came back from visiting their store and ordering the door. I have to thank the lady at Today's Entry Doors for referring me here. I called them first but since they didn't have any wood doors, they referred me to Urban Doors. Honestly, I am really pleasantly surprised with the selection here. They have A LOT of options and they can make the door jambs for all those doors. The prices are reasonable as well. We got a beautiful modern walnut door (42"x80") for $420. Adding in the jambs (walnut) and staining in Ebony (both door and jamb) brought the total to $1,100. You really can't beat that price especially since I was getting quotes for similar doors at Home Depot and Lowe's for $2k - $4k. The lead time is 4-6 weeks so fingers crossed it comes in that time frame. You can either put down 50% deposit or pay in full. They do take credit cards. One thing to note is that they offer 1 year warranty to doors that are east facing (which ours was). Doors installed west facing and in directions that gets harsh afternoon sun do not have the same warranty. I guess I got lucky there. The only reason I only gave this place 4 stars is because they were seriously understaffed. I think there were only 3 people working. Although the people were very friendly, there was no way to get "in line" or put your name down to talk to someone so you just have to wait in their customer service area until someone is free. There's definitely room for improvement there. Otherwise, the ordering process once it's your turn to talk to someone is pretty painless and quick. I would definitely recommend this place and/or visit here again if I need more doors. Wish I knew about this place sooner. read more

I'm leaving this review here as well because of the TERRIBLE experience at the Northridge location. Because that location couldn't give less of a shit about their customers. So here goes! If I could give this place a negative review I would, I have yet to ever leave a negative comment for any establishment, so congratulations Urban Doors for that unfortunate honor. At first encounter we walked in and we're ignored for about 30 mins after immediately asking for help(we didn't need to look around, we knew what we wanted and just needed to place the order). We were the only customers on the floor at this point. They serviced 3 other people that walked in after us just showing them around the showroom, walking past us multiple times without any eye contact or a simple "we'll be right back" gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited. Wish I hadn't. DECEPTIVE staff, terrible service. They told us the door would be ready in 2 weeks and it was NOT! We called the day we were supposed to pick up only to be told sorry we forgot your paper work on the table and only now sent it in for order, NO REMORSE, NO RECONCILIATION OF THE PROBLEM, NO SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE, we offered to pay extra for a rush order and we're told "no we don't do that" they said "oh now it will take a month to get the order ready" we are left waiting an additional MONTH because of THEIR mistake. We work on construction projects often and have ordered doors many times without a single hiccup from other companies but decided to try this place for our own home due to the distance from our home. BIGGEST REGRET! When anyone asks for a door retail recommendation now, I say AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! They are extremely rude, entitled and arrogant. The staff puts you on hold for 20-30 mins when you try to follow up on the order and then hangs up on you. Called make multiple times just to ask for an update and again, hold then hang up. Do not be lured by their low price on wooden doors. I should have believed all the 1 star reviews this place gets. They will take your money for your purchase, then provide no way of tracking ETA on doors. If you call them, they will say "I don't have any way of checking where your order is". You're a business and you have no internal method of tracking where your customer's doors are? You sure had no problem taking my money and telling me "it's already in stock, it'll be ready in a week." If you ask for your money back, they will refuse and only offer you store credit. No joke. I didn't order anything custom and I can't get my money back, and you don't know where my order is (lost to the ether apparently). This is legitimately a poorly run and organized business with predatory practice that takes advantage of their customers helplessness. Although they are new doors, be ready to perform a little touch up on them due to looky loos who don't put the stacked doors back gently. So the star missing is because doors get scratched and their touch up promises are less than desirable. Overall, my experience was A-Ok and for the southeast LA area, its the best door shop around without special ordering one (even those come in beat up some-HD). I have purchased a black door late May/early June of this year. The sales person, Eric said the hardware would need to be refinished at their LA store. For over 3 months I did not get a call from Urban Doors to give me any updates when my door and hardware would be available. When I call them last month, they claimed they'll check on the order. After making multiple calls to them the last 3 weeks, to my dismay, they barely placed the order to refinish the hardware on 8/24. When I called this morning to the LA office, they said it would take another week for the hardware to be done. Over 3 months, no phone calls, poor customer services, no one from the Tustin or LA store stepped up to fill my order. We went to Urban doors and told them, said they would get back to us, heard nothing for almost a month so we went back to see what they could do. Nothing! What a crappy experience. I Finally had chosen a set of doors and I was giddy with excitement. With my bf and 3 year old in tow I drove us all down to show them the doors that I was ready to order. As I approached the salesperson to start the order process he didn't even acknowledge me. I apologized thinking maybe I interrupted him and asked if I could speak with someone about a specific set of doors and he said "well what's your question". I asked if he could confirm if the doors I was interested in were on sale and if I could get a breakdown of the total cost including wood staining. He replied by telling me that the price is on the shelf by the door. I don't even think he looked up at me while he sat there at his desk. What a complete ass hat. I walked around for awhile then walked towards the desk area where people were placing orders. When I was asked if I needed to place an order I told them I had a few questions. Urban doors sold me a defective door and then would not warrantee it because it was on the south, southwest or west side of the house. That is half of the possible locations for an outside door. The doors they make are so cheap that they can not withstand the weather. This door was less than 1 year old. They did not ask me what side of the house the door was on when I purchased it. Of you are looking for a solid wood door, you definitely need to stop in check out there extensive selection. We made a couple of trips and each time the people on staff were very helpful and patient with out slow selection process. In the end we selected a door with small amounts of glass and we were able to customize it to our liking. From the time our installer, SteveCo, provided the measurements it was less than 4 weeks until completion. Door was installed yesterday and we couldn't be happier. We have been having significant work done and the door is by far our favorite upgrade. If you are looking for a new wood door, check out Urban Doors. We purchased a 4 light panel front door at the end of Nov and were promised 4-6 weeks. No one called us to inform us it was ready so I called and it turns out it was ready. We used one of their recommended door installers and everything up until this point was fine. Two weeks later we noticed there was bubbling starting to occur on the front of the door, and there were actually gaps between the light panel and the door itself so after contacting Behzad he advised me to email their warranty dept. which I did on Jan 30. Nobody answered my email so on Feb 8 I called Behzad again to ask for his help since no one had responded. He sent an email to them to call me back, and still no one contacted me. On Feb 19 I called Behzad again to ask what was going on with our issue and he got upset at me and said it wasn't his problem. This was the warranty dept's issue and he only handles sales. Really? Wow. I asked for the main no and person who I should speak to at corporate and was given the name of Roccio. I finally managed to call and was transferred to her extension. I actually got to speak to her and again explained what was going on. She said she had replied to me on Feb 11 but I said I didn't receive anything and to kindly resend it to me while I was still on the phone with her. Nothing came through. She said to resend her all the info with the invoice, pictures, etc of the door 20 feet away, then closeups of what the issues were. I promptly went about taking the pictures and told her I would send her an email within the hour and if she could just call me to confirm that she received everything. She promised she would call back at 4:30 that day. Come 4:30, nada. I checked my email and found out it got rejected by their server because of inbox size limitations. I resized everything and re-sent the next morning. Left her a VM to call me back. Nothing. I have called and left several messages every week and have not to this day gotten a call back! What kind of customer service is this? Finally I got tired of chasing Roccio down and called the Operations Mgr, Tessa, and left her a VM. Let's see if she bothers to contact me. I will keep you all posted how this turns out but so far it is a disaster of an experience. This is not the type of customer service that anyone paying thousands of dollars should have to put up with. It is ridiculous how they treat their clients, how they skirt quality issues and play hide and seek, essentially not standing by their product. Extremely disappointing experience and I would warn others to steer clear from this company! If I don't hear back from anyone within the week I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau! read more
