The chicken gyro and Greek fries are my go to. A small kinda hole in the wall place, urban gyro is your typical quick bite to eat in SLU. The food comes out fast, all the fixings available for you to grab and really just go. The food is pretty great for the pricing and fast service. It is a pretty small place so not too great to mull around. And lackluster drink selection for a brick and mortar store, more like food truck style. But otherwise a great SLU gem. read more

So annoyed. Went a while back was good. This time terrible. First off they said they were out of both schwarma and shish kabob. So, gyro it was. Next the fries were not close to warm. The sandwiches were so full and just thrown together meat on one end veggies on the other absolutely drenched in a not great sauce with too much dried dill. It had to be eaten like a salad. Which I guess was fitting as it was super cold. Lastly, I asked for regular fries, was given Greek fries and when I said it was fine they proceeded to up charge me for the Greek fries. We order food from here often and it's great every time. I decided to write a review because of my experience with them today. I ordered food through GrubHub and it said it'd take an hour. An hour and a half goes by and no food. I had to cancel and reorder for pickup. I get there and I tell the guy I'll take my order even if it's cold because I felt bad he had to throw it away. He remembered my order and knew exactly what I wanted and it was ready within minutes. Being hangry and walking 30 minutes in the rain isn't fun, but it was worth it! read more

Not a positive experience. I have not left a yelp review before because I have not had such a bad experience as this one. Ordered food and did not receive everything, which happens sometimes, so I understood that. However, when we called, the restaurant hung up on us before any conversation was had. Called again, and it took several times of saying "hello?" before anyone responded. When someone finally did, I explained what had happened, trying to be as polite as possible. I was met with rudeness - specifically "Well apparently I'm supposed to say we were wrong and just give you what you want" from the person who I spoke to. Did not even know what to say to that, so I hung up. Not to mention, the food was mediocre. Arrived cold and soggy. The meat was spiced very well, but the tomatoes is my salad were gritty and soft and the fries were just average freezer bag fries. The 4.5 star average review listed here is not accurate. read more

We had the lamb and beef platter ($14) & Greek fries ($4). The Greek fries were not as crispy as I would like, but they are thin and crinkle cut. I thought it could have used more herbs, but it had a generous amount of feta and white sauce. The lamb and beef platter had a generous amount of salad that was lightly dressed already with vinaigrette. Salad quality was fresh and meat was tasty! Gyros definitely not the ones you would expect in Greece. However if you want some protein on top of a light Greek salad, this is a good place to grab and go. The staff was very nice. read more

Gyros are great, will be back again. They need to get their ordering and pickup worked out. The lady at the register takes names, but when it gets busy the guy putting orders together, rather than call out names, just comes out with orders and starts asking you if the order is yours. I've had to follow up on my ord and r several times and have been passed over (others behind me who ordered same thing got their order before me) several times so they need to figure out their system. read more

Urban Gyro - Delicious and a lot of food! - Mediterranean Near Me - Seattle, Washington

This is my second visit to Urban Gyro and I can say that the staff are courteous, the portions are generous and the quality is great. I've tried the chicken shawarma sandwich which is decent. The Greek fries feels like a meal in itself. Easy free parking after 8 and unlike most of places in SLU they actually stay open on weekends and till relatively lat on weekdays. I'll certainly come back to try other things. read more

Wow, what a great new little gem! I don't get downtown too often but a friend had told me about this place. So glad I made the effort. We ordered Chicken Shish Kabob Sandwich with a side of regular fries, a Lamb & Beef Gyro Plate and two orders of Stuffed Grape Leaves. Everything was fresh and delicious! I had the sandwich--the chicken was moist and flavorful in an overflowing perfect pita. My fries were crisp and I had plenty to take home (the goal--they re-crisped and were a tasty snack later). My partner had the Lamb & Beef Gyro plate. I had a taste and the meat was delish! I knew I'd be stuffed but I had to try the Stuffed Grape Leaves. I always love these and these did not disappoint--so tasty. It was a hoppin' place but they moved us through quickly. They were a friendly bunch. We'll definitely return! read more

This is based on one trip there. So I was headed to a show at el corazon and was looking for food trying to kill time.
