Wow this urban plates went so downhill. Service was ass and the food was just decent. Prices have gone up and quality has gone down. It's still okay but Mendocino Farms and Sweetgreen are way better. Haven't had Tender Greens in a while and might try it to see how it compares. read more

I liked the presentation of the Moroccan Chicken Braise. It looks like a hearty meal and it tasted as good as it looked. Yum Moroccan Chicken Braise cage-free, antibiotic & hormone free, never frozen chicken slow cooked with squash, yellow onion, preserved lemons, marinated olives, turmeric, fresh ginger, spices and cilantro. Their rustic bread is great for dipping in the braise. It comes with a choice of rice or mashed potatoes. I liked that the rice wasn't just white rice. It was more of a pilaf. Good clean and delicious food!! It's been good every time, and the price is right too! Peculiar cashier told me, however, that certain options are not available for substitutions on their bowls, even though clearly written on the menu that we get to choose ("with choice of"). She said "well someone needs to update the menu" which was strange since I've ordered that combo every time. Changes are fine and I understand that, it was just an odd and awkward way to go about it. Otherwise, everything was and is always really good. Always a great experience for my family. First time at Urban Plates Brea and I was instantly a fan! It's nestled right below core power yoga, and from the outside it seems small but once you get inside it's surprisingly super roomy! They have a robust menu with fresh ingredients, salads, plates, and a great selection of sides. They also have a selection of drinks and deserts. When you walk in, you place your order at the counter and if you're dining in, you take a number to your table. Water is self serve, as are the utensils, condiments and to go boxes (which I love!) The tables also offer a QR code so that you can avoid the counter all together, simply order frkn the app, and your meal will be brought to your table! I ordered their "pick 3" which is an option of 3 sides. I opted for the goat cheese and beet salad, garlic butter crimini and button mushrooms, and roasted Brussel sprouts. All the sides were delicious but hands down the mushrooms were my favorite! Overall, good quality food, friendly service, super cute aesthetic, comfortable vibe (me and my friend sat and chatted after our meal and loved how comfortable it was to hang out for a bit with no rush!) Everything I've tried has been really good, but the beet salad is my favorite, it's always fresh and full of flavor. One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is Camila. Every Urban Plates I've gone to, I've only had good experiences - but this one in Brea went above and beyond. My friend and I went here right after our hot yoga class and they were about to close in 15 minnutes. We felt bad coming last minute but they were all so sweet there and being super cheery and friendly. My friend and I got kids meals because she had just got out the ER and I got my wisdom teeth our lol so we both cant eat big portions - but no one judged! The place is huuuuge and seating was so comfy! Everything was super clean and organized. The layout for everything was just perfect! Everyone was so nice, but Francisco was extra considerate! He was cleaning but told us to take our time to finish eating. He gave us better to go boxes for our food and gave each of us a giant cookie! The salad was fresh and great with the dressing. The beets, broccoli, and sweet potatoes were all amazing and were well prepared.
