I'd never been to an Urban Plates before. But I will definitely come back! Went here for a team event and had the Grilled Steak Chimmichurri. Oh my! It was good. I also enjoyed my sides of beets and goat cheese and a house salad. I wish they had some fresh juices, but other than that I'm very happy with the food and service here.

So delicious and fresh! We ordered the Caesar wrap and the Urban Superfood salad. If you're looking for fresh, healthy foods this is it! Everything was amazing and the portions were big. There was lots of seating and you can order at the register or directly on the table using the QR code. Shout out to Francisco for the great customer service. Overall, 10/10 I'll get the Caesar wrap again!

Love love love Urban Plates. So simple yet DELICIOUS. My boyfriend and I come every once in a while and it hits every single time. We always ordered the truffle fries with truffle aioli -- SO flavorful every time. I ordered the blackened salmon with cauliflower and garlic mushrooms. My boyfie ordered the steak with truffle fries and roasted Brussels sprouts. We never feel guilty eating here since it's somewhat healthy :) We will be back soon!

I love UP, even though it had been ages since I'd eaten here. Today I ordered some food to go. I usually order everything online, but decided to actually order at the restaurant this time. Ordering was quick and easy at the counter, and I waited about 5 min for my order. Inside it's very spacious, and there is plenty of seating in the patio area as well. Parking is easy to find, if you drive around to the front of the restaurant there is plenty of it. I ordered the grass fed beef steak, with the beet and goat cheese salad, and brussel sprouts. Absolutely delicious and top quality ingredients.

VERY TINY 4oz piece of OVERCOOKED & CRUNCHY salmon. Huge portion of both veggies!

LOCATION (3/5): If you haven't been here before the front door is hard to fine. It's on the VERY BACK SIDE of the plaza, furthest away from everything. Park on that side, or you'll just end up walking around. PARKING (4/5): This plaza does get busy because of the Whole Foods, BUT... this restaurant is on the far side so you'll usually always find parking. SERVICE (5/5): This is an order at the register and seat yourself place. You'll get a number and they'll bring out your food in record time (since I believe everything is pre-made)! They also buss your table insanely quick. Keep it up! FOOD (4/5): $22 STEAK W/ CHIMICHURRI: I don't come here often, but I do like their steak with Chimichurri sauce! I tried it with the Mac & Cheese & and side salad. The sides are a good portion! OVERALL (4/5): If I want a super quick bite to eat and a healthy option I'll swing by here!

Came during lunch time at 11:30, which should be prime time for good food. There were two of us. Both ordered steak plate (one with mash potatoes and Brussels, the other with mash and Mac and cheese). We also ordered a side of fries. The sides. We're stone cold. The mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese both were very cold upon arrival. The brussel sprouts had been cooked to the point of being slimy, and were also cold. The fries were great. Glad I ordered something edible The steak was almost raw for about half of the pieces. And of course.. cold

We had a great lunch celebrating my cousin Tracy's birthday at Urban Plates. They have a new edition to the menu, Osso Bucco with mashed potatoes, sauce and toast point. I ordered Harissa Cauliflower as a veggie side dish. I really enjoy the menu and portions at Urban Plates as opposed to some competitors. The portions and food options go beyond sandwiches, salads and soup. Many people enjoy the side dishes so much that they order 3 or 4 side dishes as a main meal. The lemonade is not overly sweet as well, and tastes like real lemon juice. I feel like the offerings are organic and healthier options. We enjoyed our meals without guilt. The food is moderately priced, they have ample seating and a parking lot shared with other businesses in the center. The staff are friendly, accommodating and helpful.

The place looks delicious!!! But aren't looks also deceiving? I didn't eat the steak! I survived it ! Unchewable! Hummus was good and the pita bread fantastic but that's it. The desserts looked so promising specially their famous Hummingbird cake which I tried! Delicious! Very similar than carrot cake from Porto's not better but close. The bad thing? The expiration day! How come? They gave me a cake that expired the same day. The audacity. Very disappointing Service alright.

Food was high quality, service from Jay was even better. My gf has a gluten allergy and he was very attentive to her needs, ensuring the kitchen took extra care to work around her allergies 10/10. Tried Urban Plates in Brea and had the grilled chicken plate + chicken tender plate. Grilled chicken was flavorful, moist, and not dry at all. Chicken tenders were crispy and perfectly cooked. Portions were filling and everything tasted fresh -- not greasy or overly salty. Dining area was clean and staff was efficient. Great option when you want something healthier but still satisfying. I'll be back

I came in here an hour before they close, had ordered a salad and a steak sandwich. Both came out very delicious. I also ordered a wine and it was very tasty too. The part that stood out to me was the staff member Francisco, even though they were already closed he told me I could stay for a little longer as I was still eating outside. He even let me use the bathroom after hours. Before all that he gifted me two cookies and introduced himself. This is the type of staff member that will make you keep coming back again and again. Love this place! They have outdoor dining in this location. Their Grilled Grass Fed Steak plate is really good, i choose quinoa and beets as my side dishes. If you don't want to wait in line to order, you can sit down and scan the code (for the menu) on the table, pick your food and pay and the staff will bring out your order! The lamb Osso Bucco was super good!!! Not a lot of non-resto setting places offer Osso Bucco of any kind of meat so we decided to try UB's & it didn't disappoint altogether; serving size, tender meat & most especially the flavor, it was excellent!!! I had never been to or heard of UP until I looked for real salad places around Placentia. We tried it, not expecting very much because all salads, etc are the same, right? I UP. I absolutely love the 4-up and my husband really likes the House salad & Pineapple soda. We go now st least 1x/week and last week I got my mom hooked too. Food is fresh, portions are hearty, and value for the $$. You can dine in (or outside) or take away. Very clean and staff is super friendly. This location is really nice! I absolutely loved the dish I picked - Chimichurri steak!! It was so tasty and flavorful but I was a little disappointed in my side dishes (grilled broccoli and sweet potatoes with peppers) being Luke warm. They didn't taste like if they had just been cooked fresh. They might've been cooked beforehand and just sat under a heat lamp (in my opinion) but overall the quality of my dish was still good! The overall ambiance is great! Indoor and outdoor setting. With this crazy heat wave, eating outdoors at 8:30 at night felt really nice. If you're eating outdoors, they are pet friendly. I love the fact that this restaurant offers such great healthy food options! The quality and taste is definitely worth the drive from the Inland Empire. read more

The food was excellent, I ordered the Baja chicken wrap- full of flavor and packed with protein. My husband ordered the Cobb salad which he said was good too. The only other option is the giant size at $19.95. The sandwich was also a little bland, and it seemed like I tasted more lettuce than meat and cheese. However, I wish the menu had noted that it was accompanied by a lemon glaze/sauce. I'm genuinely glad X Fish Izakaya dropped the ball because it led me to discover Chubby Sushi. This wasn't just a great meal--it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time and one I'll remember for years to come. I'll definitely be back. Rating: 2/5 I've always had good experiences at Urban Plates, which is why I recommended it to my family for a casual meal. Unfortunately, this visit was an absolute mess. First, the guy at the register had some odd tics and couldn't stop moving, which made me really uncomfortable. On top of that, he was so slow, mumbling the entire time, and it was nearly impossible to understand him. It didn't make sense to have him working the register alone, as it took forever for everyone to place their orders. I tried to add a side to my sandwich (which comes with chips), and the menu said it was $3 to add a side. The cashier told me it would be $4 to "upgrade" to a side. But I wasn't trying to upgrade -- just add a side. It didn't make sense to charge me extra for taking away my chips. When I asked another employee, she kept arguing that I was trying to upgrade, even after I explained it several times. Finally, we were able to clarify, but it was a frustrating process. To top it off, I ordered a chicken club, but they entered it as a turkey club. My mom also has a dairy allergy and asked for her sandwich with aioli on the side. When her food arrived, it had aioli spread all over, making it inedible for her. The guy who brought out the food also placed her plate on top of a barbecue sauce container, causing the sauce to spill all over the table. He didn't even notice until we pointed it out, even though the plate was literally toppled on the container. They took my mom's food back and brought another one out, but by the time she got her food, the rest of us were already finished. Their excuse was that her fish was well-done, which took longer, but it shouldn't take the entire meal to bring out her order. I feel embarrassed because I told my family this was a good spot, but this experience left me frustrated and disappointed. I expected better service, especially given my past experiences. read more

There was barely any chimichurri sauce, which left the steak tasting fairly plain, and the portion itself was smaller than anticipated. The meat was cooked okay, but without the accompanying flavors, it felt dry and underwhelming. Other items coming out of the kitchen looked more appealing, but my dish didn't hit the mark. Service was polite but felt rushed. The staff didn't check in much after taking the order, and when questions were asked, the answers were brief and lacked engagement. It wasn't rude, but it didn't feel particularly welcoming either. The ambience is clean and bright, but it comes across as very generic. The layout and decor don't add much character, and combined with the underwhelming food and service, it made the experience feel forgettable. I had came here before the lockdown happened and I did not like the service at all. The cooks were mean and just short with how they talked to me and my best friend (who SWEARS BY THIS PLACE). Fast forward to last night, completely different place and I am overjoyed with this new way of ordering. The cashiers were so nice and you can tell they were happy that were there. All three of the girls were super helpful in suggesting what drinks and desserts to get. I got the banana pie (BOMB) and lemonade (does not have that much sugar, perfect for me). My best friend SWEARS by the grilled steak salad, so we both had to get it. She loves the steak but LOVES the mild jalapeño-lime dressing that comes with the salad!! it definitely looked really good with the steak slices, pineapple mango salsa, jicama, mint, and coconut roasted cashews!! I recently celebrated my 2-year anniversary with my girlfriend at Urban Plates in Brea, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We chose to sit outside in the beautifully decorated patio, which had cute succulents on every table and a nice rustic urban environment. It was the perfect setting for a special evening. I ordered the Surf and Turf plate with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes, paired with the tomato basil soup. Every bite was delicious and perfectly cooked. My girlfriend opted for the steak plate with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese, and she loved every part of it. To top it off, I enjoyed a Mosaic IPA, which complemented the meal wonderfully. The highlight of our evening was the warm and friendly service. Fernando, one of the staff members, went above and beyond by bringing us some cookies and wishing us a happy anniversary. This location is a must if you're in the area. The vast selection of food is sure to present an option that will make your stomach start daydreaming. I got the double cheeseburger and sample the Ahi Tuna (thank you to my friend for sharing), and it was sincerely the best of each I've ever had. The burger was so fresh and literally dripping with flavor. The Ahi was seared to perfection (at least to my liking) and left me disappointed that I'll have to head home to make my own sub par tuna. Along with the stellar food the Staff elevated this experience to be one of the most memorable of my vacation. They were all so friendly and from what i could tell genuinely enjoyed their jobs and it translated to my party with ease. Francisco especially was a riot and gave my table quite a couple hearty chuckles. Came to this restaurant for an outdoor dining experience during covid. We were ushered to the cashier where we could order which is different than ordering at the station that would get food from. I was debating between the ahi tuna and the chicken and the gal said the chicken was excellent so I went with that and broccolini and side salad. I asked about the dressing options and was told there was balsamic and opted for that. My receipt said lemon dressing. When my food came out, the guy said they didn't know which lemon dressing I wanted so they included both. Harmless mixup but I guess the cashier should know what they have, right? Anyway, I would gladly come back and try one of their other proteins. I think it is nice they offer a plant based protein option. I ordered the grilled chicken, roasted garlic parmesan mushrooms and the new mac and cheese and I just have to say it was nothing short of amazing. The food came out quick and everything was perfectly hot as to not burn your mouth but to taste so much better when you actually eat it. One of their best employees Francisco was there once we were done to take our places and utensils as to free us from the task! Francisco made sure we were taken care of and only made this trip to urban plates an even better experience. I WILL be coming back again if not for the food for francisco! Tried Urban Plates for the first time in Brea. Excellent food and service from Erin that helped us with ordering to Cisco who cleared our plates when we were finished. We told Cisco it was our first time trying the food and he told us a little about the history of Urban Plates and its founder. We each had the chicken tenders, broccoli, and roasted marble potatoes. The tenders were prepared in a little different way, I'm sure to keep the calorie count low but they were delicious and probably the largest tenders I've ever had. I got the three tender plate but next time if I get tenders I'll get the two piece. Very generous portions and the price for the two meals was more than fair for the amount and quality of food. This spot is perfect if you want to meal prep especially during these times (COVID) and I am so glad. I take food home and I been coming here on Thursday's to work on my laptop and I can see how clean the staff is. I am here at least 4 hours and I constantly see the staff clean the tables. The girls in front are always so helpful offering me refills of my delicious green tea with mint and making sure my experience is good. They offer me the same excellent service each Thursday. I do recommend the steak salad and asking to get it cooked a little more since sometimes it's too bloody. Overall, the salad is amazing! The food here is real food (though some offerings do contain seed oils like canola so be advised) like the steak and fish plates (also the soups are amazing, I dream of the tomato basil sometimes). However, I don't think I'd come as much as I did even with the food if it wasn't for the people here. Jay and Martin especially, the first time I came here Jay and I talked like we've known each other for years (and bonded over our love for Outkast and UGK). I LOVED the food and the steak was well cooked along with the mushrooms and the fries! The mushrooms were worth the +1$ as I don't even like mushrooms, and I scraped these off the plate! The steak was a nice Medium Rare along with the fries being crispy on the outside and nice and warm on the inside. Our dessert consisted of a sour yet sweet drink along with 2 cookies that are as big as my hand! The casual atmosphere and the friendly staff really made our meal! Finally, we were taken care of at the end by a sweet man named Francisco, who wished us well as we left and made sure we were good to go! I've eaten at this restaurant many times and have been very pleased with the food and service. I like that the salads are fully customizable and there are a wide variety of sides for entrees. They even have good kids meal options, which is hard to find at restaurants (especially when you want healthy meals that kids will actually eat). Sometimes the lines can back up a bit if staffing isn't high enough to keep up with the crowd. One day we had to wait over 15 minutes for a salad; I was delayed so far that my dad and I had to pay separately from the rest of our group because everyone else was so far ahead. read more

Urban Plate is a great spot for lunch that offers delicious meals in an inviting atmosphere. I always enjoy visiting Urban Plate to get my meals - they have a variety of different dishes that can satisfy any craving. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the portions are generous. What I like most about Urban Plate is that all of their food is made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The prices are reasonable, which makes eating here regularly quite affordable. My friends and I had an amazing time at Urban Plates! Usually, I always enjoy the delicious food and excellent service here, but today was something exceptional! We had the pleasure of being served by Jay, and I cannot emphasize enough how incredible he was. He went above and beyond to make our dining experience unforgettable. His friendly and welcoming attitude really made us feel special. Whenever we had a request, Jay was right there with a smile on his face, ready to help. I had a wonderful experience at Urban Plates! Francisco provided exceptional customer service he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was not only incredibly helpful but also very friendly and approachable, making the whole visit enjoyable.
