Today's service was exceptionally great in comparison to our first visit. Everyone was friendly, said hello and the energy was positive. The food was yummy just like the first time. Everything is cooked fresh, kept hot and tastes "homey" like your moms cooking. Beautiful interior, also feels like a homey environment. Update: 11/10 Once again, best service by everyone. I would like to come here more often, but the prices are hard to justify. It's either close or over $20 per plate. In addition, they charge 3% additionally to your check to pay for the employee benefits...not a fan of restaurants requiring that. The food is also a hit or miss. When the food is on par, it is so delicious. But I've had days when the steak would be too chewy or stringy or the albacore is too salty. read more

Interesting restaurant business model. I've tried this spot over a dozen times over the course of a few years. It's like a gourmet cafeteria, or exact opposite of an IKEA cafeteria. Their positives are that the food is usually very good in quality and ingredients, and you might be saving a buck or two on the meal for less service (unless they guilt you to tip full amount at the paying system), and they have a nice eating area. I think the steak, desserts, osso bucco (not always available), and sides are generally very tasty. The negatives is that to save that buck through self-service the experience is hit or miss. They frequently forget items on online or take out orders, their bathroom can get pretty nasty over the course of the day, they run out of things like napkins, or they don't fully clean up the eating areas with trash left on the floor. But the biggest negatives for me is that the portions are small especially in regards to protein as they use precise weighing (they pitch it as healthier portion control) and they don't include bread unless you ask for it, and you only get one piece as a cost cutting measure. What frequently happens (as they hope) is that you order other items like drinks, desserts, sides... and then the meal ends up being more expensive as a self-serve than a restaurant with service, and that's including tip (around $35+ for males, probably less for ladies with small appetites). Its one of those places that I can't say that I really think about, crave for, or recommend. Dined in today and the service from Jay was fantastic! He was really helpful and efficient with my order and super friendly as well! He even helped bring my drinks/utensils to my table as he saw my hands were full (dined with a baby) The food is always so consistent and delicious! It was my first time trying their burger and fries, which I highly recommend (ask for grilled onions) As always, end your meal with their mango tart and you'll leave happy as can be! My Dad and I needed a quick place to get a healthy dinner and decided to come here. We both got blackened salmon and it was delicious. My Dad must have said several times how good his meal was. The food is not bad for a trendy style restaurant. The staff is great...shout out to Erin whom always is so helpful. Loses a star for the 3% surcharge. I have no problem with you paying your workers well...but build it into the price. Restaurants listening to the MBA's and getting 'sneaky' like hotels and airline tickets with all the extra charges. The quality went down a lot. I ordered an Asian style salad to-go. I used to order this salad frequently, knowing that they usually give large portions for their salads, I mean I'm paying $12 for a salad... Service is always friendly here and I quite liked that pets are allowed on the patio, and that there's a coffee shop nearby if you're craving drinks after. The banana cream pie is also the best dessert on their menu. Used to come here every week for their Meatless Loaf which was arguably the only thing on their menu that has flavor, but they discontinued it.
