First I would like to say the service and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is not big but we were able to find seating, the decor or the restaurant is very modern which you could either wait to order at the register or use a kiosk by the front door. We were there on Thanksgiving so we both had the Turkey plate, which features the juiciest herb roasted turkey I have ever tasted. We got the mashed potatoes with gravy and mushroom stuffing as our 2 sides. Both were delicious but my only gripe would be the little amount of gravy we received, 3 bites of the mashed potatoes and the gravy was gone. Hopefully this will get fixed by my next visit. The rustic bread was very crispy and tasty and went well with the meal. My least favorite of the plate was the cranberries relish, it tasted so strange, and did not complement the meal. I left it on my plate as it was not enjoyable. With the drinks I was so confused with the Stubborn soda, on the menu board it just says Stubborn soda and nothing on what variety of soda they have. I had to look behind the counter to the machine to see what variety they had. The print on the machines are very small so if there were seniors I don't think they would be able to see the small print. Just put the names on the board and save everyone a headache. We both got the cola and it tasted ok, would much rather have a better tasting soda so I was not happy with my choice. I would recommend this restaurant for the younger generation as it has new tech like ordering kiosks, using apps on phones to order from the table and possible seating issues if you have mobility issues. Being this restaurant has only been open a month there is room for improvement and I will definitely have to come back and try the other items on the menu. read more

The food and service was good. However, why I will not recommend this place is because the owner of the restaurant charges you an extra 3% on your bill to help pay for their employees' medical care. Since when is it OK for customers to pay for employer's medical cost for their employees? When I got my receipt, I saw the charge. I decided to go to Urban Plates since I have been getting ads about this place. Well after deciding to go, I ordered two different plates but both with steak. The food took quite a while which to us was not a big deal, it made us think that the food was going to be fresh. After getting our food however the food was cold and basically seemed reheated. The portions were so uneven, as I got barely any steak on my dish, only like four super tiny pieces. Meanwhile, the other dish seemed to have a decent portion and a substantial larger portion than mine. Food was very cold and honestly it was quite a disappointment of a meal. read more

Greetings, this was my second instance coming to the establishment and the ambiance is so exquisite that it nearly knocked my socks off! Oh great heavens the food was so delightful I just had to keep ordering more. My American friend Chenel convinced me to make an expedition to the states to indulge in this fine feast. The service was very attentive and prodigious. My only regret is that my beloved queen was not able to experience this delectable brasserie. Oh how divine the fries were! From my 7 years on this orbiting spheroid I have never quite tasted meat so quintessentially flabbergasting. When I took that first bite I exclaimed "OH GREAT HEAVENS THIS FOOD IS SO VIRTUOUS!" I even ordered 8 platters of fries for my own consumption. Even the water-Oh what amazing water-was so crisp and revitalizing. Never in my 87 years of life hood have I had water with such the feeling of invigoration and revitalization. Truly a masterpiece and the 8 wonder of the world you have at your business. Ok so I was a super huge fan of this place until a I noticed that a couple of the staff there have probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. One night I decided to go order some food for take out and the cashier Francesca was incredibly rude and short with me. While ordering I noticed her attitude and asked if she was ok at which point she just stared at me with a blank disgusted look on her face for like 5 seconds and then I just continued ordering. After ordering I politely said thank you for my receipt and she walked away without saying anything. As I was waiting for my food to be finished I went back into line to ask a question about the oils to my use for cooking. She never came back to the register and instead was socializing with the cooks. For about 5 mins I waited there until the shift lead noticed me and answered my questions. The interaction between the original cashier and I left a bad taste in my mouth and the surf and turf combo I ordered was cold to the touch when I ate my food. I decided to then call the restaurant to speak to a manager and ask if there was something I did that upset Francesca that sparked this weird behavior. Turns out Francesca answered the phone lol. I asked her politely if I could speak to a manager and she said one was not in that evening, I said ok I can call back another time. She then proceeds to press me about why I wanted to talk to the manager repeatedly after I kept telling her multiple times that I can just call back. Eventually I just hung up the phone completely appalled by the lack of courtesy. I came back to the restaurant the next day at about 10:35 to speak to a manager about my experience. A man spoke to me and identified himself as one of the managers, judging by his outfit he seemed to be a kitchen manager. Nonetheless I proceeded to explain what I experienced and he apologized about the incident and took down my phone number and name to give me a call back within a couple of days to follow up with the situation. I have yet to receive a call back with any kind of follow up but regardless I decided to come back in last night with my entire family and order again. Francesca was working bussing tables and I felt a terrible vibe immediately upon seeing her. I didn't let this stop me from enjoying the meal with my family. After ordering my food and waiting an excruciating long time for my food it came and was extremely disappointing. My sesame broccoli came with no sesame dressing, my daughter's chicken sandwich came with pickles after I asked for it to be without and extremely over cooked and bland. I didn't wanna make a big stink while in the restaurant and my daughter has a habit of not liking new food spots so I excused the pickles and took them out the sandwich. However, when I stood up and let the people working the expo line that my broccoli was missing the sesame I politely asked if they could just put some of the sauce on instead of them remaking it. The gentleman working the expo line was very kind and obliged, but the woman (not Francesca) working the line said in kind of a "boo ya!" Tone shouted, "we were gonna do that anyway!!" This kind of customer service is rude and I believe since Urban eats has an open kitchen staff should be mindful to what they say especially when a customer can obviously hear them. I was completely embarrassed because I invited my Uncle in Law who is a retired chef of 30 years and he found the serve or atrocious and the food subpar for the amount of time I had to wait for it to be prepared. Also on top of it all my surf and turf plate came out with no shrimp and I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for my shrimp after being the last one to get my food. I myself have worked in the restaurant industry from being a busser to a manager at a local brewery in Woodland and i find that this restaurant really has the potential to be great but its employees lack the patience, passion, and grace it takes to deal with food service. I will be cancelling my urban plates pass membership which is super disappointing because I have probably ate there at least 10 times since they've opened. I hope management sees this and implements better training. It honestly feels like there is some type of animosity towards me from certain staff there and it's completely unprofessional. Other staff have shown great customer service and it's a shame that a couple bad apples can really spoil the dining experience. read more

Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the cozy decor and spacious dining area. Ordered the chicken Cobb salad, it was delicious. Staff stopped by several times to refill drinks which was totally unexpected and a nice touch. I had lunch at the Davis location yesterday with family members. I had the short rib bowl. The meat was so soft and tender that it fell apart at the touch of the fork. The mashed potatoes were so delicious with the gravy and their chocolate chunk cookie is the best I ever had. Nikki was our cashier. She was very patient, professional and attentive. we also received service from Brandon, Louis and Manny. Together as a team, they provided my family with excellent service. It's wonderful to have a restaurant that serves real home cooked food with employees that are genuinely kind, patient and respectful.
