Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak with two sides: Sesame Broccolini and Yellow Basmati Rice
Annie Y.

There are plenty of parking spaces. You order first and then dine in. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside. I ordered the Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak with 2 sides: Sesame Broccolini and Basmati Rice. The Sesame Broccolini was okay, not my favorite 'cause it was hard to eat (tough to bite down). The Basmati Rice and Steak was super good though! Recommendation(s): - Chimichurri Grass Fed Steak - Basmati Rice Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Plenty of parking - Plenty of seats inside and outside - Accept Apple Pay - Restroom available - Order first and then dine in

I thought I had I written a review about this place when I was coming regularly 8-10 years ago, but apparently I didn't. It's just weird because there was a time I was coming at least once a month despite living 30-40 miles from this location. Urban Plates has always been good at providing more upscale meals at a fair price and with a modicum of wait. It's almost cafeteria-style, with the food being prepared beforehand, except now they put together your tray and bring it to your table instead of scooping it out in front of you as work your way down the line like it used to be. The change didn't even make a difference. The barramundi was still excellent and of good size. That seafood chowder I wish was an option at every restaurant because I love chowders, stews, and chilis as sides as opposed to most places that only offer soup as an appetizer. And my mashed potatoes with gravy was great. The service was still good. I think the counter jockey had my order and total up in less than five seconds and I was fine paying in less than twenty. That's efficiency especially when you don't waste time trying to upsell the customer on every knick or knack on the menu. I appreciate that. The space and ambience is still great in there. I still like it feels like you can breathe for a second in there without fear of being kicked out in the name of turnover. In summary, this place still rocks and I should've reviewed it sooner to let folks know.

Surf & Turf
Jessica H.

Friendly service. Wide variety and foods for every diet. I eat gluten free and got the surf and turf. The shrimp was just okay. The steak was pretty good. Brussels sprouts I wouldn't order again. Mashed potatoes with gravy were tasty. My kids both got chicken tenders plates- one of them is the kid size and you can see they're about the same size so just get all your kids kids meals. They both liked the chicken and fries and the Mac and cheese was good too. My mom got the barramundi sea bass and it was pretty good but the toast and asparagus were mediocre. She also got the hummingbird cake and found it to be too nutty.

I hosted a small gathering for alumni. On a Sunday afternoon, which is usually very slow There is a nook in the patio. Kept warmer due to the 2 heaters and half covered roof and windows. Love love this design compared to the other locations We asked the staff to turn down the music a bit because we can't hear our speakers and they did so thankful for that. Service was great. thank you to all the staff.

Update Wed 1/28/2026: + Love the Surf & Turf entrée for the yummy, well-seasoned crunchy shrimp on a skewer and the flavorful steak cuts. + Urban Plates' meal options are packed with various healthy courses to keep the entire experience enriching and enjoyable. . Crowded yet ample parking and seating. - Still 3% surcharge. - Redeeming the restaurant's Wednesday offer for a free dragonfruit replensher today was awkward for some reason. The cashier didn't mention it, so I asked for it. She said, "I have to charge you." I said, "Oh, the replenisher." "You want a sample?" "Yes." She handed me a replenisher. I verified, "It's free, right?" Her "Yes" was barely audible. "Thank you," I walked away, confused why she was gonna charge me for the freebie. I enjoyed: $25.95 Surf & Turf w/ Beet salad (goat cheese) and Quinoa tomato & rustic bread + 3% surcharge + tax = $28.80 Wed Jan 14, 2026: + The salmon w/hollandaise meal was abso-tively scrumptious. - A surcharge of 3% - The cashier didn't know what the asterisks on the menu were and simply told me it meant nothing. After a lil more perusing I found the description in the menu's end corner: the universal statement about foodborne cross-contamination. "I'm not sure, I'll have to check" would've been a more suitable response than "It doesn't mean anything." + Yummy, healthy Wednesday dragonfruit wellness replenisher. Thanks Yelp for the tip! - The price was pretty extortionate for a meal that left me only half full. Within a couple hrs I was starving again! + Good clean restrooms. + Crowded yet ample parking. I had: $21.95 Salmon with broccoli + potatoes + tax = $24.36 Jun '24: I like the variety of American-style food here. I enjoyed one of their seafood meal plates that comes with a couple sides. Delicious and nutritious. I appreciate that they welcome the Japanese-American cultural MeetUp group here every Tuesday evening. Nice venue to meet new people, learn Japanese language and culture, and introduce Japanese natives to the English language and American culture. The staff are very nice and helpful. Even at closing time, they are patient with our gradual migration outdoors.

It was OK. Decent food. Fast service. Some unique drink like thr dragon fruit and strawberry drink. Food in be hit or miss. Bis portion, enough for a really full meal. I tried the garlic shrimp plate. This was great. But steak plate was dried and no flavor

Thai Chicken Noodle Salad

Love urban plates for a lunch out with colleagues or friends if I'm feeling something on the healthy side. It's a more casual restaurant, service is good and found is brought out directly to you. I've gotten the chimichurri steak, Cobb salad and salmon here as well and the food always turns out great

Grilled Portabello sandwhich
Kate L.

Urban Plates in Irvine really exceeded expectations. For being a chain, this location feels anything but cookie-cutter--super clean, thoughtfully designed, and just a great overall vibe. It's located in a plaza, so parking was easy. I went with the grilled portobello sandwich and added a little of their house hot sauce--game changer! It gave it just the right kick without overpowering the flavors. The sandwich was hearty, fresh, and full of texture. We also ordered the rib plate, which was generous and tender. Everything we tried felt well-balanced and fresh, and the menu leans healthy without being boring. There's a great variety of options here, especially if you're vegetarian or trying to eat cleaner. Whether you're in the mood for a protein-packed plate or something plant-based, you'll find something solid. The service was quick and efficient (we didn't wait long at all), and the ambiance was a nice surprise--both indoor and outdoor seating looked recently updated, with modern, stylish decor and a comfortable layout. Great for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want something satisfying, quick, and a little elevated from your standard fast-casual fare!

Grilled Steak Salad, Nicoise Salad, Side Chili Glazed Grilled Tofu
Chrissy L.

The Grilled Steak Salad, Nicoise Salad, and Chili Glazed Grilled Tofu was a nice meal throughout. The food arrived well-packaged and maintained its quality.

Andrew T.

Always a great place to go for variety of healthy food choices. You get your choice of protein and sides and there are a lot of options! Even fried chicken/chicken tenders. Service is quick and prompt (you order at the register, they give you a number, and they bring it to your table). Food tastes fresh and well seasoned. They also have a condiment bar at the corner for ketchup, salt, pepper, and some hot sauces. A must try!

4 sides combo
Shaska L.

The great thing about Urban Plates is that they offer veggies in a quick, no frills way. If you eat fast food, it can be a challenge to find vegetables that aren't fried in some way. Urban Plates quietly and efficiently fills that hole. This visit, I ended up getting tempted by the new mushroom offerings so I didn't get any broccolini or Brussels sprouts as I usually would but I always enjoy the beets salad every time. Great spot for meeting friends here for catching up as the staff are especially chill about customers hanging out and chatting. Very easy to get up and order more food if you decide you want another drink or dessert.

Dagoberto P.

Pros: I do like how you can order on your phone and they'll bring it out to your table with everything. I thought the convenience is a huge plus. Also, their menu is pretty large so it is suitable for multiple dietary restrictions. Cons: the flavors were just okay for the price. I believe my meal was over $20 and the Brussel sprouts were a miss for me. Overall, there were some great items like the friends and the burger, and it is a great place to catch up with friends, but it isn't a spot I'd regularly would go to/suggest. However, if my friends want to go, I wouldn't be opposed to trying again. The place can get pretty loud but dies down quickly. It seems that people just eat and leave, so not much socializing going on. Staff is very nice and amazing!

The restaurant is…read morepretty big so there's kind of two different indoor seating areas plus an outdoor area, as well as seating around the bar. The main indoor seating area was mostly full but the other areas only had a few people. We asked to sit outside since it was a beautiful day/evening, and they were happy to accommodate us. On the reservation request I had noted that we were celebrating our anniversary, so once we were seated they brought out a little "Happy Anniversary" card signed by the whole staff. It was a very thoughtful touch! We started by ordering a Summer Barrel Aged Cocktail to drink. It reminded me of an Old Fashioned. It was good! I personally tend to like sweeter drinks a bit more, but I was in the mood for something different from my usual and this sounded like an interesting flavor combination, so I was happy with my choice. Next we ordered short rib croquettes as a starter, and the seafood risotto and the branzino as the mains. The food didn't take very long to come out. The short rib croquettes were amazing! It definitely left you wanting more. I honestly would have ordered that as a main, it was that good. The seafood risotto was so rich and flavorful. It had a creamy, buttery texture with a mild seafood flavor but not overpowering. It was a beautiful saffron color too. The branzino was also excellent. In short, we loved all the food and we left feeling very full with even a bit of food leftover. We skipped dessert since we were just too full. Overall, everything about this place was great - good service, great food, and a nice ambiance. The parking situation is also super easy since there's a large garage right next to it and they validate. It seems to be in a business park so the garage was pretty empty by 6pm on a Friday.

The previous GM (I won't name him directly but his first name starts with a T) was a kind and jovial person who made every guest (for sure me) feel welcome at Solstice and seemed to have great rapport with a number of first time and regular diners. The new GM has quite the Napolean Complex..in both attitude and stature. I have noticed in the last 2 visits a drop off in the overall ambiance of the establishment...the wait staff is still very nice and the food was exceptional as always..but something overall seems off. After talking time out to try to thank the new GM after the 3rd visit only to be looked at by him with a bit of disdain and like I was bothering him was enough for me. I am out. Also thanks in advance Paul but please...do no reach out to me. Thanks

The cooking uses quality ingredients and love and care. I was here on business by myself and was seated immediately and after a quick look at the menu decided on the devil's cut ribeye a steak. It comes with a massive amount of oven, roasted potatoes and green beans. I also got a side salad with it as well which was way too much food for one person. The entire thing was big enough for two normal or maybe even three light eaters. The steak was excellent with a sweet coffee rub with a slightly sweet mapley taste. I could only finish about half and save the rest for the next day. Even though I was full, I decided to try the fried apple pie because it was recommended by many other reviewers. It was actually amazing. It was the dish that was highly recommended by the server and she was not wrong. The ice cream on top was probably House made and the pie itself was like a gourmet version of a hostess apple pie but of course with much higher quality ingredients and it was delicious. The vibe of the restaurant is exciting. It is a fun place to visit with the visual aspects such as the bird cages in the window case. Oak barrels used for aging whiskey are set around and the general vibe was very attractive. Everyone was having a great time and making quite a lot of noise from all the conversation and the music, but people were really enjoying themselves. If you want to have a quiet conversation with someone, this is probably not your place, but if you want a fun time with that kind of vibe, it is an excellent place. I recommend Bosscat highly.

Upon arrival, the main indoor…read moredining area was relatively empty, though the patio was completely packed--clearly, it's the popular spot. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and I can easily see it being a great date spot in the evening. Because our group was so large, I couldn't sample or photograph every dish, but here is my breakdown of the items ordered near my end of the table: 01. Arugula Salad (half) $8.00 - 3 Stars - Light and exceptionally simple, topped with red onions and parmesan cheese. Frankly, it was a bit too simple, the dressing was entirely unmemorable. 02. Prime Rib Dip $25.50 - 3 Stars - This arrived looking very promising. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the creamy horseradish packed a powerful punch (it will definitely clear out your sinuses). Unfortunately, the thinly sliced meat was slightly overcooked, dry, and a bit chewy. While the au jus was flavorful, I've definitely had better prime rib dips elsewhere. 03. Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich $20.50 - 2 Stars - This was the biggest disappointment of the lunch. It looked great initially, but hiding a layer of mashed potatoes underneath the chicken was a strange choice that made the bottom bun instantly soggy. The chicken itself lacked crunch, likely because it was completely doused in what tasted like standard Frank's RedHot sauce (tangy and vinegar-forward, but not actually spicy). No wonder there are barely any photos of this online; I wouldn't order it again. 04. Lobster Roll $32.00 - 3 Stars - Beautifully presented with large chunks of lobster and a side of sweet potato fries. However, at this price point, it felt overpriced for the portion size. The flavor was a bit bland and lacked a "wow" factor. While I appreciated the use of butter lettuce to keep the roll from getting soggy, the lobster meat didn't actually fill out the bread end-to-end. On the bright side, the butter sauce was quite good. 05. Creme Brulee $12 - 3 Stars - A very standard crème brûlée with a decent portion size. It was served completely chilled, which threw off a few of my colleagues. While it's traditionally served chilled, some places serve it closer to room temperature, so this really just comes down to personal preference. 06. Fresh Seasonal Cobbler $12.00 - 3 Stars - As a massive fan of cobblers, I was underwhelmed. The berries were cooked down so much that they lost their form entirely, taking on a jam-like consistency. The crust layer was incredibly thin and soggy, making the whole dessert feel mushy. Luckily, the vanilla ice cream helped cut through the intense sweetness, but overall it was just okay. LOCATION/PARKING - The restaurant sits right on the corner and shares a parking structure with Monaco, The Trough, and Izakaya Osen. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant validates for 90 minutes. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The service seems to depend heavily on who you get. While the staff was generally friendly, they weren't particularly attentive, and we constantly had to ask for refills. To be fair, assigning just one server to a party of 14 is a tough ask, this venue is likely better suited for smaller groups. VERDICT - Overall, the menu feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. If my team decides to host another lunch here, I wouldn't object to returning.

Restaurants are part of the hospitality industry, so when they have bad hospitality, it ruins the experience.

The restaurant is located downstairs in the hotel, and parking is very convenient. Make sure to bring your parking ticket with you, as dining guests can receive up to three hours of complimentary parking. The restaurant is beautifully designed and very photogenic . The large screen is especially unique and adds to the atmosphere. It's a great spot for dinner with friends, date night, or a birthday celebration. The service was excellent as well. Once our server realized we were celebrating a birthday, they patiently helped us take lots of photos, which we really appreciated. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The House-Made Mozzarella was one of my favorites -- crispy outside with warm, stretchy cheese inside. The Shrimp Tacos were generously filled, and the Hamachi Crudo was incredibly fresh. The Beet Salad with whipped goat cheese was unique and delicious. The Peruvian Vidori Chicken was a generous portion, while the Rigatoni Alla Vodka with Burrata was rich and creamy. The Yuzu Seabass was tender and flavorful, and the Filet Frites was another favorite -- juicy filet paired with perfectly crispy fries. They also offer a great lunch special with several options to choose from. It's a nice value and definitely worth checking out if you're planning to come for lunch. Overall, great food, beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful service. We had such a nice birthday celebration here and would definitely recommend it!

They took care of every detail, so I didn't have to lift a finger during either event. They gave our group exclusive use of the entire patio, which created the perfect atmosphere. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully displayed, and our guests couldn't stop talking about how incredible everything looked and tasted. I highly recommend Warehouse 72 for anyone looking to host a special event. Their exceptional service, attention to detail, and outstanding food made both events truly memorable.

Stopped by around 8 PM and joined the Yelp waitlist after arriving. It's in a plaza with a large…read moreparking lot, which makes parking easy. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with soft, yellow lighting that makes it feel cozy. There was background music playing which added to the energy, although it was loud enough that conversation took a little more effort than I'd have liked. Service was attentive from the beginning, with the server checking in regularly. I checked in at 8:05, was seated by 8:10, and got my food around 8:30. I ordered the Miso Bacon Carbonara which was delicious. The sauce was rich and creamy without feeling too heavy, and the miso added a sweet flavor that made it different from a traditional carbonara. The bacon was cooked well, crispy around the edges while still tender and the slight kick of spice kept each bite interesting. Overall, I'd definitely come back for this dish. Between the attentive service and food that's both savory and unique, it was a great experience.

I did like that parking was not an issue as there were many spots. service was pretty good. the dishes were small so be prepared to spend about at least $40+ each. -Hamachi crudo: nothing too special about it. only 5 pcs of hamachi. -Pork jowl: expensive dish considering the pork jowl were cut so small and portion was little (we had more lettuce cups than the pork itself) -Dashi pesto: this one was good. unfortunately, there was only 3 scallops. for a $30 dish, it prob needed another scallop. -Vongole: another good pasta dish. the sauce used was great. pricy dish however. -Miso bacon carbonara: this one seemed like it was their most popular dish. very creamy. tasted pretty good. I liked the egg yolk to make it creamier. -Momonoki chicken wing: don't bother. not worth it. overall, they've seemed to nail it on the pasta dishes. I liked all of the 3 we ordered. we were still hungry after the meal but ran out of budget.

My wife and I have been here quite a few times now, and it's always delicious. After The Counter…read moreclosed nearby, I really needed a new local burger place when I had a burger craving, and The Cut delivers. I either order The Cut (yes, the $40 burger and fries) or I make my own bleu cheese burger depending on my mood. I'll cut to the chase: is the $40 burger worth it? If you've got $40 to spare and you like burgers, I think it's definitely worth it. I mean, I've had it probably three or four times now, and I'm not some kind of moron who likes setting money on fire (I hope), so it must be good, right? What's unique about it? Basically everything, but obviously the patty of meat is the star of the show, with a unique taste and texture that makes it stand out from a normal ground beef patty, and the cheese is no slouch either. The only negative is that my wife bullies me into ordering it so she can steal a few bites. The regular fries and sweet potato fries are also great. My wife got a steak with her caesar salad one time, and that was delicious too. We usually have the same waiter since we come around the same time/day every time, and he's always great. They also always have a great selection of beers on tap, today they had three different West Coast IPAs and I felt like a kid in a candy store... yum! Normally when writing a review I can come up with some sort of complaint to balance things out, but not really in this case. I mean, I could whine that the burger is $40, but no one is forcing me to buy it (except for my wife). All in all, I think this is one of the best places in Irvine to have a pint of beer and a good meal.
