The service and ambiance are excellent. Loved the Chardonnay mushroom soup. Steak I ordered was cooked as I had ordered, but was dry, not juicy. Ordered side of braised spinich which was overcooked and watery and a side of bearnaise sauce was anything but, despite the managers insistence. The chimichurrii Substituted in its place was very good. Got a look at other tables orders, they looked good and were nicely presented and the short ribs looked and smelled delicious. Excellent food and service! This was our first opportunity to dine there since their opening and we chose them for our anniversary. We both decided on steak for dinner and we're very impressed. The presentation of the courses was excellent with the surf & turf the best! The mushroom soup was a little lacking on presentation --it needed a swirl of cream or sprinkle of parsley to add to the visual appeal. However, aside from that it was delicious as was our entire meal! Our server went out of the way to make our anniversary dinner special. The website doesn't mention making a reservation but unlike many restaurants that don't take them nowadays here it is almost a necessity. Overprice food. You'll be paying I guess for the location and decoration at this place. Ordered a pasta with scallops - the pasta was so salty that I only ate the scallops for $44 bucks. Ordered then mash potatoes just to fill the gap and it was salt less - go figure. Order also a black something named desert to go - the desert is 60% frost cream on top and of course so sweet that I couldn't eat half of it. A $6 bucks wrap from Trader Joe's would be a better dinner. read more

My wife and I ate at Urban Prime last Tuesday night. The restaurant is spacious and very attractive with beautiful art work on all the walls. I even noticed some photographs done by the chef, Ercan Ekinci. He's certainly multi-talented. And, of course, the food was excellent and delicious (and a little pricey). I started with the Apple Endive Salad which was fresh and delicious and the portion was very large, enough for two or even three people. So my wife shared it with me. I then had the Florida Shrimp Fettuccine and my wife (vegetarian) had the Wild Mushroom Ravioli. The shrimp were huge and again, both dishes were delicious and we enjoyed them very much. I have to say, however, that although the food is of the highest quality, this restaurant is very "casual" and there were a number of typical "conventions" that were very "casual" as well. I don't know if some of this is intentional. For instance, we arrived at about 6:30 and were seated immediately. The restaurant was only about half full at this point, not exceptionally busy, but for some reason it took almost 15 minutes before we were acknowledged or even apparently noticed by our server. No one came over to say hello or offer bread or water or drinks. It was a little disconcerting. I ordered a glass of red wine (Malbec) and my wife ordered a white (Sauvignon Blanc). I'm used to reds and whites typically being served in different shape glasses to enhance the particular attributes of each wine, but both our wines were in glasses of the same size and shape. I would think that a restaurant that prides itself on its wine selection and advertises an award of excellence from Wine Spectator would typically attend to this convention. Also, I'm used to the tradition of placing drinks to the right side and the bread plate to the left and this tradition was also ignored when both our drinks were served on the left. The Malbec was delicious, however. Then, when I was finished with my salad, without thinking I just placed my fork in the salad bowl. When the server came to take the plate, he requested that I keep my fork. So he took the plate and I found myself sitting there holding the used fork. I didn't want to put it on the tablecloth, so I wound up putting it on the bread plate while I waited for my main course I was considering ordering the Prix Fixe meal, but decided it was probably too much food. But while I was looking at the Prix Fixe menu I noticed that it was headed, "Pre Fixe." I've never seen it spelled with "Pre." I think that is how it is pronounced, but I'm pretty sure the correct spelling is "Prix Fixe." I noticed it's also spelled that way on the website. Maybe I'm just not aware of that as an option. The last thing I would mention is that as we finished our meal, at around 7:30, the restaurant had filled up and gotten very noisy. It was a hot night so everyone was inside (there is an outside patio). Again, it has a casual atmosphere and it was very pleasant and lively, but it was noisy enough that it became difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices. All in all this is a very beautiful, enjoyable place with great food. They have an extensive wine list, lots of craft cocktails and a nice shop attached to buy wines and other interesting foods. On this trip, I ordered a shrimp cocktail -- outrageously good -- plump, huge shrimp, super-fresh and cooked to perfection. (Highly recommend). Their soups of the day are ALWAYS amazing, so I had their bean and prociutto chowder and ordered the little sourdough baguette to go with it. Hubby had some delicious, fresh sushi and the lamb chop appetizer -- always an excellent choice -- juicy and cooked to perfection, served on a bed of greens with goats milk cheese. We dine here quite frequently and the service is usually very good. If you manage to get either Elizabeth or Josie as your wait staff, you will be very pleased. We heard about this new place and finally decided to try it for a date night. The restaurant is beautiful and I am obsessed with the market! Yes it is a bit pricier but I do believe you're paying for quality. I absolutely love the market! We made a reservation and got seated promptly. However, it took almost 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledged us. We ordered appetizers and drinks, they were good, barrata and Caesar salad. We waited almost an hour and a half for our food to come out. No one said a word until 5 mins before our food came out to say it's because a big party ordered before us. We understand that the food takes time and you can't control some things but communicate with your customers. When our food came out, it was disappointing. Our steak came out over cooked and we informed the waitress but at that point we were starving. We will be going back for the market but not sure about the restaurant unless it's just apps and drinks . We just expected a higher end restaurant to have better service . read more
