Bacon wrapped filet, bacon wrapped chicken and the garlic steak were the three best. All meat could've used more seasoning. They had a 14 meat variety. I had ice water and an old fashion. Drink was good. Some of the guys had the key lime pie, cheesecake, and hot lava cake. All stated that it was good. All in all it was a good experience and I would eat here again because I like the meat variety. It was priced about $60 plus tax per person for the supper and a water. They do provide the cheese rolls like TDB along with fried plantains, a fried cornbread and mashed potatoes with chives.

Wow! From the moment we walked in (at Happy Hour) our hostess Kaylee and server ASLI was amazing! The place is clean, the ambiance is cool with artwork and fully accessible! Let me tell you not only is this place COOL and modern but the FOOD is outstanding! The chef is second to none! We started with samples of the Mushroom Chardonnay and Prime rib soups on the house! We immediately ordered a bowl of the mushroom soup as it was OUT OF THIS WORLD the best soup we have ever tasted! We then had the Burrata Caprese, the Spicy Tuna Sushi roll and a dozen oysters on the half shell! The food is made to order, fresh, and the taste incredible! Thank you to the executive Chef CJ who brings this spectacular food to the table with an essence of fine dining in a casual but CHIC presentation! We can't wait to come back and try their dessert and drinks but we were FULL! One of the best restaurants to come to Brevard if not the best! If you haven't tried this place it is a MUST! It isn't often that you stumble into a local restaurant and are completely blown away. Sure, you can say the service is good or the ambiance. There might even be a particular dish that meets your expectation, but seldom does a restaurant wow you the way Urban Prime does. Our waiter name was Tyler, and his low key mellow demeanor vibed with the low light and local art. He allowed us to to enjoy a slow paced meal, but was always there at the right time maintaining the tempo of dinner like a orchestra conductor. My wife and I ordered an appetizer or barrata which was delightful. She opted to order an appetizer of Sliders for her meal, which may sound unsophisticated, but we were there for the food, not aristocratic approval. I opted for the dry aged NY strip which was cooked to perfect medium rare and seasoned enough to enhance the flavor without overpowering it. The entire dining experience was worth the drive past the Chili's and other chain restaurants located in The Avenues. We will definitely be returning soon. read more

I dined at Urban Prime last weekend for the first time. Appetizer was the charcuterie board, which was very good. Entree was branzino (usually my choice if sea bass is not available). It was pan fried, over-cooked, extremely dry, tasteless, and served with overly cooked burnt potatoes. The fish was served on a plate with a very heavy hot sauce. I was very disappointed, as I was advised it was an upscale restaurant, which we do not have in the area. Desset was panna cotta, also tasteless. Not sure if I'll return. Asli was a remarkable server for our large party from Venue of Viera. She was very attentive to all of our orders. We were a large crowd of retired ladies celebrating a birthday and a friend moving away. We all loved how she fussed over the celebrants , while never neglecting the rest of us. She indulged us by taking pictures with many of our phones. As always the food at Urban Prime was delicious. Many of us shopped at the market after lunch. So after getting a lay of the land from her, we ordered some drinks, which were fantastic. Then the first course came and it was fabulous. We had the escargot and the oysters Rockefeller. Yum. The Escargot was buttery and soft. The oysters were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We tried a lobster bisque and it was so so good. The touch of sherry was perfect. As for the Caesar's salad, this was the star of the evening. It was one of the best I've had and is what a Caesar salad should taste like. I am seriously considering going back there just for that salad. For dinner my wife had a lobster tail. She reports it was excellent. The snooty lady wanted me to try some special they had, but I went for the lamb chops. Again, perfect, medium rare. Winner. Snooty lady went uber obnoxious snooty after I didn't pick her choice. I was scared for the rest of the night. Overall price to food value, negative 100 billion. Food was fantastic. $250 for the portion sizes not worth it. Then again, even if they were bigger, not worth the price. Like I said, go for the salad and pass on the rest. Make you car payment and go to a more reasonably priced place that won't treat you like you need to have a credit report or occupation that they might approve of. Oh and they had some nice live music. That was good. Too bad, the staff put a damper on the birthday dinner.

I had the Crispy Duck Breast and Confit, this was my first time trying this so when they waiter asked how I wanted it cooked I asked him to make a recommendation. It was very good, but I think the duck lost its crisp when the plate was brought out with a dome cover on it. The presentation was wonderful. The was it was presented, when they lifted the lid in a circular manner all the smells were just delicious. We finished with desert. My husband chose the peanut butter cheesecake, with Oreo crust, paired with a home made grape jelly. it was all his favorite things on one plate. I had a small taste, the smooth peanut flavored cheese cake was decadent. I chose the Sea Salted Pistachio Gelato- OMG, from the first taste, I looked and my husband with wide eyes. I have never had such a glorious taste of pistachio in my life! The sea salt complimented the sweetness and the pistachios through out were plentiful. There is a piano in the bar area and I understand on some nights a violinist. We had something grand planned for our anniversary this year, but due to family emergency needed to stay local. We have gone to Pompano Grill a few times and we've had mixed experiences. But after our dinner at…read morePompano Grill last week went from bad to worse, we recommend against eating there. They are inattentive, rude, borderline fraudulent, and they attempt to be intimidating. As we sat down, our server launched into a long pitch about how the chef will not cook a steak more than medium, and how he - would - cook it blue if that was what we wanted. This was a lengthy sales pitch. I specifically asked if the chef was willing to serve a steak that was cool and red (my definition of blue), and our server confirmed this. So based on that, I ordered steak. Unfortunately, when the steak arrived, not only was it overcooked, but it was poorly cooked in that it had a ring of about half an inch of totally brown meat, then another quarter inch of light pink, and then starkly transitioned to bright red. This is what happens when you put an ice cold steak into a hot pan. The steak was definitely not blue, and more like medium rare or medium, given how much brown and pink it had. I asked our server if this is what the restaurant calls blue, more for future reference - since it was late in the evening and I didn't feel like wasting food, I wasn't going to send it back and ask the kitchen to remake it. The server went back and had a lengthy conversation with someone in the kitchen, and then the manager came out and at first said that I should have ordered it blue. When I said that I had asked for blue, he said, "Okay well that's how we do our blue steaks." I was a bit annoyed by the dishonest sales pitch that our server had made before we ordered, so I might have visibly rolled my eyes. But I wanted to just make the best of it and eat in peace. Unfortunately, the chef had other ideas. He came up to our table, stood in what he probably intended to be an intimidating pose, and asked - very aggressively - "Is there a problem with the steak?" I said it was cooked rather more than my preference, which was disappointing given the lengthy sales pitch about how this restaurant supposedly did not overcook steaks. The chef launched into a lecture about how "rare is a temperature" and "the health department has rules" and "you can't get a steak blue while still getting it to the minimum temperature unless you sous vide it or reverse sear, and that takes too much effort." So basically, the chef admitted that this restaurant, which boasts "a passion for craftsmanship and creativity" and supposedly serves Mishima Reserve American Wagyu, puts less effort into a steak than I do when I cook one at home. Clearly, the chef's intention was to intimidate and humiliate, as well as pull the power move of "I will serve you poorly cooked steak and how dare you not like it." It was about this time our waiter (who had been insisting this whole time that "We would consider that [brown steak with a thin red stripe in the center] rare"), came over to ask if we wanted to order more wine (which we had been considering). After this treatment, though, my husband told him politely that we would not be ordering any more. A woman who had been sitting with the chef, who we took to be the owner or manager, uttered an audible "Wow," as if it were somehow unusual after a breakdown of relations such as this not to order more. My husband said "'Wow,' what?" in a mild tone? She gave no response. Kitchen mishaps happen, and sometimes steak ends up overcooked. That's not the end of the world. It's better if a restaurant fixes it, but if they're not going to fix it, they should at least accept that a customer might be dissatisfied, rather than lecture and berate a customer for having the temerity to have an adverse opinion. In the end, nothing was done either to satisfy us, nor to compensate us for the poor meal (which was quite expensive when tallied up), nor to assure us this would not happen again. I would advise avoiding this restaurant.
