I really like Urbane Cafe. I personally think it's tastier than Panera, and you get a small salad with your sandwich anyway, without having to pay so much for it. My favorite thing here is the So Cal sandwich with arugula instead of "greens". Their Ahi Tuna salad (I think only temporary) was BOMB too! I haven't heard anyone complain about their menu, try it out! Service is pretty slow around here. But the time if day makes a difference usually. During the lunch boom there are all the businesses, the courthouse, and any hungry shopper all wanting to eat at these local places. But if you go a little later you'll still have about a 10 minute wait, a little long for a grab & go type place, but it's not too bad. The menu is really simple as well as they have friendly staff. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the café. I ordered the chicken sandwich. The chicken was super juicy. The bread is handmade in the cage it feels like it is just taken out from the oven and it tasted like the middle eastern breads. I felt in love with the only bread. Their salads are huge. After two stops for the first time this year I was terribly disappointed with the quality and flavor of the salads and sandwiches. No fresh flavor at all, salad greens not the same, the pecans and goat cheese you can barely see. Super thin slices of chicken on the salad that are paper thin. Urbane Cafe is a great place for sandwiches and salads. I almost always stop by when I'm in town. I either come to this location or the Camarillo store. The bread that they include with each order is really delicious. It's simple but very tasty. I try to order their seasonal specials. The most recent ones are the Mango Jicama Salad and I've gotten it with chicken and ahi tuna. I've also ordered their Ahi Salad and the dressing that it comes with is really good, the Japanese Chili Garlic dressing. Be sure to double check if the protein is actually added to your order, I've had at least 2 orders slip through where I just got a plain ol' salad and not getting the chicken/tuna I paid for. Bummer. Download their app, they'll send you promos sometimes. Updated review; Urbane cafe invited me back and I went to the Camarillo location this time. I ordered the same sandwich Chicken and Sundried Pesto and it was on point like it used to be. Glad to hear it was not all the locations just the Ventura one which had taste issues. I used to frequent them in Agoura Hills when they first opened down the street from my job. I always get the Chicken Pesto and Sun-dried Tomato sandwich. Tonight I ordered it at the Ventura location and it was bland and had no flavor. What happened?
