I love this place! While yes, I hate getting any work done on my car (because work = money) this is the place to do it. It was all done with care and kindness and no upselling or anything. It's just a place where you can get a diagnosis for your car, an honest opinion of what should be done, and a fair price. My lil Hyundai lemon needed new spark plugs. Ron went through and checked everything out and made some examinations, and presented me with the total. I ended up getting a full tune up (that I desperately needed) which included new spark plugs, transmission fluid, oil change, and a new engine coil. While yes, expensive due to the amount of work, it was nothing compared to those other guys out there. He also gave me tidbits on how to keep my car in tiptop shape seeing as I had rats living in my car, YIKES! I did as he said, peppermint oil on cotton balls in my engine area (avoiding the hot spots) and they all cleared out! This is my place to get my car tune ups and I'd tell anyone to do the same. read more

The best around! Took my Jeep here for what I thought was a much needed brake job. Turns out my brakes were fine and the clicking issue I heard was from some bad suspension/drive shaft. Any other mechanic would've charged me for breaks and sent me on my way. Luckily my issue was under warranty and I took my Jeep to the dealership. These guys are honest as can be. I got here around 10:40 today in the morning, met Ron and talked about my 30K maintenance. He printed out a a list of the inspection and replacement items required exactly the same listed on the Lexus website but quoted me 1/3 of the price from a dealership! They pulled in my car immediately, did a thorough inspection and found out my dealership has already done most of the items (I bought this car used 3 months ago), I ended up only need to do the oil change and tire rotation. He rushed in to tell me to cancel my Uber cuz it might only take 20min-30min! I mean I've been to Firestone's, sears auto, pep boys, other mechanics and of course the dealership overpriced maintenance program. I have yet to see such a business as honest and upfront like Econo Lube. Each time I went to a shop they always try to sell some bs stuff I don't really need and sometimes even came up with creative ideas of how badly my car needs to be repaired....You won't see that here, definitely gonna come back. read more

I have been going to these guys for a while, I noticed they are starting to raise the prices may be because they cut the hours down, and lack of business, going to the dealership is cheaper now from going to these guys, they are super nice until you criticize their work when they try to fix your car and they screw it up, they will become very aggressive, talk to you with no respect, in a very loud tune of voice, so basically dare to come back to them if they didn't complete the job accurately. Sean can fool you with his low key manner, but he can become very aggressive and hostile, and he has no problem of using offensive words, they are OK for oil change and simple stuff, but other than that, they are incompetent. Our A/C on our 2017 Hyundai stopped working. A hole in the condenser likely caused by a rock puncture. Our friends have raved about Econo Lube so we decided to give them a try. Our dealer had diagnosed the same issue, but we were skeptical until it was confirmed by Sean and his amazing team. They took our car in on a Saturday and had it fixed in 3 hours, and for 30% less than the dealer was going to charge. They were able to fit me in right away without a problem. While they were performing the oil change they were able to catch a coolant leak. They brought me out to show me exactly where it was, and inform me of the side affects this could have on my car. I was very pleased with this gesture, because I had been taken advantage of in the past from another auto shop. I just moved here from Arizona and happened to swing by because I was getting a smog check next door. I had already gotten an oil change about 3 weeks on the drive to California but found out later from my regular mechanic in AZ that it requires a different filter than my car normally takes because of a part they had replaced previously. Since we didn't know that to notify the oil change place, I wasn't sure if they replaced it with the right filter. I wanted piece of mind so I walked in to this Econo Lube and Tune to see if they would check if I had the right filter on. The guy I spoke to was willing to help. He was honest to tell me that everything was fine and didn't try to sell me on another filter or oil change or anything. I would not trust their word though because my car didn't need those repairs and it is driving just fine now with less than $20 of fluids and leak stopper. Sean took the time on the phone to explain the oil they recommended, the filter they recommended and the reasons why. Sean also too time with my son (when we were there) to show him any suggested maintenance items and make recommendations to keep the car in peak condition. How rare is that... especially in Southern California. The brakes on my 2004 toyota prius where making a horrible sound, don't know how bad the damage was my oil change was due as well, took it in because of the reviews i saw here, spoke to Sean, same experience A+++.. A friend of mine recommended me to this business since it was also very close to my home. I have a 95 Civic that refused to start and had it towed to their location. A man whose name I can no longer remember assisted me with my issue. This particular person seemed to love to explain every little detail of what could possibly wrong and how they can fix it. Occasionally ending it with "I need to know all these things, because it's my job." Leaving the car with them for the day, they've contacted me after closing time to have my car picked up. Explaining that the distributor was the problem and it was completely replaced with a new one. The car starts and drove it safely home on a Friday. The total service and part replacement was around $300.00. On Monday, the engine stopped as I made a full stop at a red. It would crank, but nothing else passed that. Had it towed to my friend's Dad's whom worked for Totoya and was also 40 mins away. He inspected it over the next weekend and told me that the coil on the distributor has melted and was missing the spring to transfer its current. The missing spring caused the coil to overwork and overheat. The car started and ran just fine after the second fix. It was replaced with a non-compatible distributor even after the so-called mechanic assured me he knew what he was talking about. So now the tow added an extra $100 just so I could take it to someone more reliable. If you're going to talk about cars as much as you've done to me, at least apply the same amount of effort to your auto-repairing skills. read more

I got my brakes done here about a few years ago & I thought everything went well! Fast forward to this year, my brakes were making a "clicking" sound every time I reversed, so I went to another place that was closer to me since I had moved out of the area. The mechanic at that spot suggested I go back to whomever installed my brakes last. (I know what you're thinking "you haven't gotten your brakes done in a few years"? I drive a '13 Civic so she's pretty reliable & nothing was noticed the first year after I came to Econo Lube. Also, keep in mind 2020 was basically non existent, I worked from home & didn't really use my car). So I brought my car back to Econo Lube along with my receipt/invoice from a few years ago & explained what my situation was. Instead of shaming me or denying any involvement, Sean immediately took my car back, dissected my car & inspected what went wrong. He really took the time to figure out what went wrong back then & explained to me. Sean figured out what the hiccup was & I asked politely why I was allowed to drive off that day. In short, Sean explained it was not a safety issue so that's why I was given my keys back & My car was basically done in an okay job then rather than a great job, which I understood. Sean corrected the issue & has checked in on me twice since then. I appreciate Sean for taking accountability with what happened & treating the situation so professionally!! We're humans & we make mistakes, it happens. These thing have to happen sometimes for everyone to learn from. I can attest these guys are genuine & would absolutely recommend them!! I'm really skeptical about car mechanics. It always feels like the upsell is more important than diagnosing and fixing a problem and they'll try to get as much money out of you as possible. I understand it's a business, but there are ways to make it seem less pushy. I didn't feel like that at all here. My car recently hit the 100k mark and was showing some signs of struggle when I started to accelerate on the freeway. I went through quite a few pages on Yelp and ultimately went with this place because of their positive reviews and because people I knew had been here and had stellar things to say. Sean (who I'm assuming is the owner) was awesome. He was very upfront with costs, what he wanted to do and even took the time to research my car, check the maker's bulletins for any other problems and possible scenarios for the cause of my vehicle's ailments. Being a dummy when it comes to this stuff, I felt at ease when he walked me through step by step on what he was going to do. He found the problem, fixed it, and it ended up being significantly less expensive than I thought. For once, I didn't feel like I got ripped off by servicing my car and it seemed like he had my best interest in mind. Reason why I'll come back: There were two other customers that thought they needed additional work and he talked them out of it because he thought they could wait to save some time and money. I liked the honesty, especially since he could have cashed in on someone's trust and inexperience. Ok we are all in need of a good, cheap, honest, quick, and honorable mechanic... They are rare to find so when you do come across one, they are in deed a very special find. This is just one of those rare places that you get the right kind of deal and a good job done without having to argue fight cajole or anything else. Several of my coworkers and I have come here a number of times. Everytime we have had a quote, it was a solid price, often lower than most of the other more well known places in the general vicinity. Granted the oil change costs are not always the cheapest, the real mechanical work, is done at a great price. The other thing that makes me really happy, is that when they tell you it will take X amount of time, it takes that long to do the job. In the rare circumstances when there is a problem with the quote given, at least for me, they stand by their original quote. Overall if you need some mechanical work in this area, I cant more highly suggest this place to do the job. They do great work and are stand up guys as I said. read more

My experience here was great!! I called five minutes prior for an oil change. They attended me right away. I was happy that they were able to use my own oil and filter because I just like keeping the exact same type. I just don't like mixing different brands. But as far as mechanical parts, in general it's highly recommended that you use the parts the mechanic put in. These guys even did my tire pressure. Thank you very much. I highly recommend coming here. The mechanics are very smart, trustworthy, and they answered every question I had regarding my vehicle. I will definitely come back again. Oh and just to add. I ended up here for an oil change after my first location was having system issues and I am glad I did. My husband had been here before and told me how pleased he was with the service. I walked in, no appointment, let them know I just needed a basic oil change. I was out in about 30 minutes and ready to go. I waited in the office, which is pretty small but has two couches. Ron was the gentleman who helped me out and he was very friendly and personable. The oil change came out to $36 and some change. They didn't try to up sell me either which some places I've been to do. I definitely see myself coming back to get oil changes and possibly other services if needed! read more
