First, I love this location compare to other Urth Caffe because it's spacious and conveniently located in old town Orange. Service is a bit slow because we did not receive our drinks till half way finished our order. Food was delicious though. Ordered the chicken curry sandwich, Urth farmer's salad, matcha rose latte, and Caffé pistachio. Liked the face they let you choose the intensity of coffee. I ordered the strong one and it was good!
We'd been here one other time on a previous Cali visit but all we got was coffee and a pastry. This time, we went during lunch time to see if their food was just as good (spoiler, it's even better). We came in when the line was to the door, which moved pretty steadily despite that. They have complimentary water dispensers, one regular and one with fruit in it. This was great for refilling our water bottles before leaving. The service at the counter was great and the prices for the food seemed accurate (considering there are organic and local ingredients). We sat down and waited about 15 minutes for our food.. perfect. As shown, the servings for evening was hearty and that's exactly what we both needed! The pancakes were the BEST I've ever had, and that's saying a lot coming from me. I wish there was an Urth in Arizona so so badly, because we'll miss the food a lot. I also had another encounter at Urth when we ordered some to the hotel. Unfortunately, our driver brought someone else's food, but after calling Urth they still had my order so I drove down and picked it up. Let's just say, their green juice is killer.. 10/10 across the board
I'm a big fan of Urth Caffé--the food is consistently good, and the overall vibe is amazing. The location at the Orange Circle is one of my favorites. Sitting outside and watching people pass by gives it such a lively, relaxed atmosphere. Parking can be a bit challenging, especially during busy times, but there are paid parking options nearby now, which definitely helps. Just be prepared for a long line when ordering--it can get pretty crowded--but honestly, the experience and quality make it worth it.
It's always a good sign that the place is packed when I got there. The service was efficient despite the long line. We sat outside which had a nice European cafe vibe. I ordered the huevos rancheros pizza and the Oreo cheesecake. Their pizza had a pretty good size and was packed with toppings. It was a little greasier than I thought it would be but the flavor was there. The cheesecake was a as liitle too dense but had good flavor. Overall good value
I've been to my fair share of trendy cafés, so walking into Urth Caffé didn't exactly shock me... but I will say, it still knows how to put on a show. The vibe is undeniably cute. Like, dangerously cute. The kind of place where even waiting feels aesthetic if you're in the right mood. Every corner feels curated, the crowd is very "students with laptops and iced drinks," and even the indoor seating had this warm, almost cinematic feel to it. Unfortunately, I didn't get to fully soak that part in because the experience quickly turned into a bit of a chaotic food journey. Let's talk about the order situation, because wow. Somehow, we ended up getting our dessert first, then a smoothie, and then finally the pizza. I wish I could say it was part of some artistic dining experience, but no, it was just confusing. By the time the margarita pizza came out, it felt like the emotional climax of a very disorganized story. And honestly, it took way too long for something that simple. It got to the point where we had to get up and check on it ourselves, which kind of breaks the whole relaxed café illusion they're going for. I get that it's busy, and trust me, it is busy, but there's a difference between high energy and just feeling overlooked. That being said, I can't sit here and pretend the place doesn't have charm. It absolutely does. The vibe is strong, the people-watching is top tier, and if you're the kind of person who doesn't mind a little unpredictability in service, you'll probably still enjoy yourself. Just come prepared. Come with patience, come knowing it's going to be packed, and maybe don't expect your meal to follow any traditional timeline. It's a beautiful, bustling, slightly chaotic experience that feels more about the atmosphere than the execution.
We were here mid-Easter morning. Urth is a cool-vibe place and, remarkably, had plenty of seating given the number of people who were there. The line went quickly and the cashiers had excellent knowledge of the offerings. I ordered the D'Lox toast , which was very good. Plenty of lox and fixings. I wasn't a fan of the English buckwheat toast crust, but enjoyed the bread itself (I'd never tried this type of bread before, and was raised to try everything once, so no regrets). The Spanish Latte is one of the specialties. It was really satisfying and whatever the mystery ingredient is kept me guessing and interested. My husband had the dark house coffee, which he really liked, and the sausage and potato omelette and accompanying salad was a hit. I asked one of the staff for coffee bean recommendations. He suggested the house dark for my husband, the house light, for my son, and another type for a friend when I told him their preferences. He really listened. We returned today and I had a killer mushroom omelette. I had a cup of the house light, which, if you like light coffee, is very good. My husband had the Italian omelette and the dark coffee, and he was very happy with both. When you're in SoCal, don't miss out.
I went back to Urth Café for brunch today for the first time after a long while. This location is at the Orange Circle in old town Orange. There is lots of parking near and around the restaurant but it is a very busy area. So, you may have to park on one of the adjacent streets. The restaurant is in a historical building that dates back to the 1800's. The interior has an industrial charm and Victorian elegance like most buildings in that part of town. The interior has High ceilings, exposed brick walls, artisan tilework, and wrought iron accents. There is lots of indoor seating as well as outdoor sidewalk seating with market umbrellas. I Love the big Island with high chairs where you sit around the island top fire pit. It is a cozy, and social friendly arrangement. The restaurant is loud and vibrant creating a warm, bustling atmosphere. As you arrive, you are most likely to find a line. You must place your order first, grab your number and your order will be delivered to your table. They have a pamphlet menu. The Menu is extensive with sandwiches, salads, soups, plates, egg dishes, pancakes, french toasts and so much more. They also have lots of coffee, tea and other beverage options. I recommend that you grab one of the menus and decide on what to order while waiting in line so, that you do not hold up the line or feel rushed when it is your turn. Today everyone in my party ordered the same dish. We got the mushroom omelette. As far as I could tell. It had mushrooms in it, cheese and onions. On the side, we got hash brown and two slices of French baguette with butter. It also comes with a salad, but it really, is just one Leaf of lettuce and one slice of tomato. In other words, not much of a salad at all. It looks more like a garnish than a salad. The omelette was pretty good. The hash brown came in the form of two potato cakes and were OK. We wanted them crispy, but they tasted more like boiled potatoes. For beverage, I got the café pistachio, which is sort of a pistachio latte. It was really good. Just lightly sweet. Just the way that I like it. In conclusion. The food was good minus my hash brown. I enjoyed my coffee and everyone liked their dishes. The space is beautiful and has a good energy to it. Everyone is friendly. The Service is really good and prices are average. So, overall we had a good experience. I recommend Urth Café
Whenever I'm in Orange, I try to make my way to Urth. If not to eat a meal, I at least get their Blended Green Tea Boba. Love love love it! That's the only drink I get there. I've tried a few others, but nothing compares. The service is great and the place is spacious and loud (a bonus that it is kid-friendly). I was in the mood for pizza and my favorite pizza of theirs has to be their Wild Mushroom Pizza. Hands down, the best option here. All the flavors blend together nicely. I had to end my meal with their Banana Cream Pie. A little indulgence never hurt anyone, right?
I came on a early Sunday afternoon. The line was out the door. It took about 20 minutes or more for me to order; however once I ordered my food was out within 10 minutes. I sat outside reading my book catching a lil vibe. I ordered the large iced green rose latte which was EXCELLENT. Maybe it's just me but it kinda tastes like fruity pebbles. I loved itttttt. I ordered the huevos rancheros plate with over medium easy. Delicious. I ordered the flourless chocolate cake. It was delicious and I want to top it with raspberries when I get home. I enjoyed my brunch here. The only thing I don't like about this place is staff doesn't walk around after you order to see if you need anything. I needed a box and waited for quite some time. However I don't let this affect the rating because it is a cafe and it was pretty busy so it is not expected but it would make a huge difference in customer service!
I love this Urth location because it's great as a cafe and as a restaurant space. If you just want to eat, you order at the register, and they bring you your food. A lot of people use it as a study space like a cafe. Lots of students and people studying and working. I like this spot because it's open later than most cafes and has lots of seating but still has a cozy feel with the big fire in the middle of the room. Some of the food and drinks are on the pricier side. The chicken soup seemed a bit expensive for the portion size. It was tasty, though, and good for a sick or cold day. Comes with bread and butter at no extra cost. If you're not lucky enough to get street parking next to the place, there's a free parking structure that's at most a 5 minute walk away. Highly recommend this location as a nighttime eat/drink + study spot.
Açaí bowl 5/5 the toppings with the fruits and cocoa nibs was fresh but the açaí itself is icy so it melts quickly. Pistachio lattte- they made the coolest swan design on the top. It was one of the coolest latte art. You can ask for Togo or order inside where they bring to your table. I'm not sure if they have wifi but they have a lot of breakfast options $15-30 price point. It is very rare for me to ever clean my plate, but at Urth in Orange... my gosh, that was a meal and a half. I ate like I had just hiked from hell and back. Like it was my last meal on earth. I always thought Urth was kind of overrated since my last experience in Laguna left me unimpressed, but this location completely shoved those words back down my throat. The service was genuinely kind and the food was just wow. Refreshing, savory, and texturally perfect. Everything tasted intentional, like someone actually cared when they made it. My family of five was so satisfied that not one of us had a single complaint. The atmosphere gives a vacation feel to it even though we are just at home! Thank you to the team for an amazing experience. I will definitely be coming back for another "meal and a half." read more

Went to Urth in Orange this past week and it was definitely delicious. The location is so charming, as it is on the corner of Glassell and Chapman. Perfect for getting a bite and spending the day shopping in Old Town or enjoying the fountain area. Urth is VERY popular, so expect a bite of a wait on the weekends. The style of service is counter walk up, order, and then food is brought to your table. Drinks like specialty coffees and the kitchen are made separately from each other so they can come out at different times. I've been a few times and the wait time is always different, but if you know that going in, it can be a great time to catch up in conversation with friends and family. I had the Honey Latte and the avocado toast with a poached egg on top. Another commenter mentioned that the avocado toast is small and ai would have to agree. However with the added egg it was filling. It was delicious, the bread was ah-mazing. The Honey Latte was the perfect balance of sweetness and coffee. A shining moment for me was that the cashier/order taker was really patient with me as I was ordering and made sure to mention all the add ons I could get like the egg on my avocado toast. It helped me feel less overwhelmed, especially since the menu is so expansive! For Avon toast it was pricey, but for the whole dining experience and service, well worth the money. I had previously tried the Newport Beach location and was not impressed, but the Orange location was a clear improvement. Parking can be tricky, but the café itself sits on a charming corner near the roundabout. My friend ordered the burrata salad and a matcha latte. She enjoyed both, though the portions were enormous and a bit overpriced. I went with the huevos rancheros and absolutely LOVED it--the egg inside was souffled, light, and fluffy, truly a standout dish. For dessert, I tried the Napoleon again, and once more it was underwhelming. In general, I find the desserts and baked goods here disappointing, and I honestly don't understand the hype. Overall, a much better experience than Newport Beach, and definitely worth a visit for the huevos rancheros. read more

I really liked the pizza catona that I ordered, very generous with the ricotta cheese and was honestly enough to fill me up for lunch. Very cute and cozy place with so much seating. There is a line but it goes by quick, you grab a menu and there will be someone to walk down the line to take your order. Only issue I faced was quite a long wait time, probably at least 25 minutes after I paid and everything. read more

Went here last night with my wife. Had the panini el diablo with a side salad really good. Also the new England clam chowder, tasted horrible, we also had the new peanut butter cake, the crust was super hard to cut, not a good choice. Service was good! Urth Caffé in downtown Orange is one of my favorite go-to spots. It has such a cozy, welcoming vibe and is perfect for so many occasions casual brunch, a relaxed work session, or even a low-key date night. The food and drinks are consistently solid, but my absolute favorite dish is the taco salad with the crispy shell, so fresh, healthy, and surprisingly filling. It's one of those meals that leaves you satisfied without feeling heavy. Their desserts are also a must; everything is beautifully displayed and hard to resist. They have tons of seating, both indoor and outdoor, which makes it a great spot even during peak hours. It's also one of the best places in the area for refreshments don't skip the matcha boba, it's super smooth and delicious, and their cappuccinos are always well-balanced and comforting. If a drink isn't quite to your liking, the staff is always happy to help make it right. Overall, Urth Caffé is a downtown Orange staple that never disappoints. Great food, great drinks, cozy atmosphere, and something for everyone. Definitely a place I keep coming back to. read more

Love the interior but wished the second floor was available for seating. This location has not seating compared to their location in Laguna Beach. I tried the quiche of the day: broccoli chicken. Liked this since the edges were crispy but I felt that it was missing some side sauce since it wasn't as cheesy as expected. Spanish latte was great; sweetness is strong from the condensed milk. Quite a the location and menu of items. Located at the circle of Orange, this place is busy on a Saturday morning. The bustling cafe ins brick building, has line of people as soon as you enter. Concept is order fas your waiting in line, pay at register, get handed a table number, go look for an available table, food will be brought to you. Honestly felt rushed going through the long menu while in line. Ordered the iced matcha latte, very good with balanced sweetness. Along with the grilled vegetable omelet, filling and good. I use to go here every time I get a chance. Their Spanish latte to me is the best even if I only order decaf version of it. I can still taste the "coffiness" even decaf. However, last night's visit was disappointing. The food is still good. I had the wild mushroom pizza which I think is still delicious and he had the humongous turkey burger which was surprisingly not so heavy ro eat despite of the size. We finished our meal but our coffee still has not come. Had to follow up 3x. That's not how it was before. They better up their game or else the experience will not be as delightful as I always expect it would be. read more

Love this location! There are so many available seats and the place is very clean. The food is always good at urth! They have GLUTEN FREE options and substitutes for people who can't have gluten. Super great! The cashier was super nice and patient, as I was struggling to get my card out. The matcha was so good! The server was the one who pointed it to me. I got 75% sweet with oat milk for the japanese matcha with a combination of another matcha drink (which he customized for me). The only thing i'll say is the fruit water had a really bad aftertaste. read more
Stopped by to get some work done in the morning and enjoyed my visit. S/O to the extremely kind staff who assisted me in moving a table over just a bit so I was able to connect my laptop charger to the outlet. That would've been the only way I would've been able to get any work done since my laptop was close to zero. I truly appreciated it! I had the iced Spanish latte with oat milk which was delicious and also had the urth breakfast, the croissant with the jam & Brie was a perfect & light breakfast for me. A charming, energetic cafe in Old Towne Orange. Food is good and service is friendly. The chocolate & pistachio pancakes come in double stacks...wish they had a single stack option bc portion is too big. There's NO kids menu option for pancakes or waffles. The breakfast panini was decent. The drawback is that they often mess up drink orders. Been here twice and both times they messed up our drinks order. This time they brought the wrong drink and had to remake it. By the time we were done with our brunch, my English tea latte hadn't arrived yet so I had to go ask them to put it in a to-go cup instead. Wish I could have enjoyed my drink with my food... Overall a nice choice for brunch. Can get very busy but there seems to always be a table available without too long of a wait, even on weekends. read more

This was my third time visiting Urth Caffé at the Orange Circle, and I finally took the time to leave a review. This location is always very busy, but despite that, the atmosphere remains beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The artwork and overall aesthetic make it such a pleasant place to spend time. The service was attentive and friendly, and I was especially happy that nothing was sold out during my visit. Their matcha is amazing, and my all-time favorite dessert is still the carrot cake--so organic and delicious. You truly can't go wrong with anything you order here. Over the years, I've tried their pizzas, sandwiches, breakfast items, smoothies, juices, and pastries. I also love their vegan cookies, oatmeal, and chocolate treats that they've been offering forever. Everything is consistently fresh and flavorful. Urth Caffé is one of my favorite spots for coffee, food, snacks, smoothies, and lattes. Food was great and tasted healthy. I did remove the onions and pico sauce as I was dealing with stomach issues. But the cheese and mushroom within it was delicious. The sunshine smoothie was tasty, but felt the ginger overpowered the drink itself. It was a busy morning as it always has been every weekend, but was able to find a seat for my friend and me. She had ordered the avocado toast and added heirloom tomatoes and pancetta. She enjoyed it with a hot cappuccino. The atmosphere is loud indoors, which is where we sat. But it was doable in having conversations. I've been before months ago but hadn't sat inside in a while. Try getting there at an earlier time so to get better seats. Came here for breakfast. It was a weekday but the place was fairly crowded. The staff is friendly and handled the crowd pretty well. We ordered the chocolate pistachio pancakes, mushroom omelette, and side bacon. Chocolate Pistachio Pancakes- The pancakes were fluffy with a slight crisp on the edge. It was loaded with chocolate and pistachio sauce. Finished with powdered sugar and a side of fruit that balanced the sweetness out and added a burst of freshness. It was a delicious sugar rush! Mushroom Omelette- Egg base was light and fluffy. The omelette was filled with mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and cheese. Served with a side salad that is crisp and fresh. The bread roll is warm with a crusty exterior and nice and soft inside. A hearty and healthy dish. Side Bacon- Bacon was savory but I would have prefered more crisp to it. Still good though! Ordered a fruit tart togo and it tasted fresh even after a long drive. I must admit, I have passed by this place all the time and I didn't get the appeal from the outside. But upon entering the cafe I saw a long line of customers and many of which were pleased with the food and service. So was I! My first impression was a good one, the food was delicious and my latte was perfect?! The price was reasonable and the portions were good. I was shocked by how quickly the long line moved. There was plenty of seating and my favorite was the bar-like fireside seating in the heart of the cafe! It's an urban earthly decor with healthy, fresh options. The servers were so nice and helpful. I liked that we were able to pay for our food upfront then find a place to sit, which was rather easy despite how busy it was. Can't wait to come back! read more

A nice breakfast spot. I would throw this into style over substance. Everything looks great, but the food is mostly ho hum. Nothing was bad per se. Be when soending$70 for brunch for two.. maybe I expected better. The danish looked great, but tasted like a Costco pastry. The quick.. was ok. Pastry was tough, and reminded me of a Panera bread quiche. Salmon tartine.. was all bread. And breakfast potatoes were pretty dry/past their prime. I go here often so this is a collected review. The food never disappoints, it's always delicious. The menu has a wide selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I will say the service isn't the best here, the reason why I give them 4 stars. I've had pretty rude service, especially from management which has been off putting. Other than that, the vibe of the restaurant is great, and I love the fireplace inside. Advice parking isn't the greatest, make sure to make time before you go to secure parking. read more

This review is long overdue. I usually order from here on DoorDash, but I've also dined in a few times with friends. I absolutely love the variety of desserts they offer, and I really appreciate that they have a fair number of vegan options too. My go-to is the Vegan Pizza Primavera -- packed with roasted vegetables and full of flavor. The Spanish coffee is a must, and of course, you can't leave without trying a dessert . read more
CONSISTENT BARISTAS I've been here more than 10x and I am never disappointed with my Spanish latte, strong. The milk is always steamed perfectly and the espresso is bold enough to distinguish itself in such a sweet treat. On top of that the baristas get all artsy fartsy with it and give you a good photo opportunity. I've tried the cookies, muffins, cheesecakes, fruit tarts and more. Fresh every time. The only thing I didn't like was the brownie because I could taste the oil or grease in it. It's also located in the heart of old town orange meaning it's surrounded by tons of antique shops, restaurants and bars to jump to. It's a safe area just watch out when crossing. read more

The customer service at this location has made so much improvement. I'm a resident here at The Circle and drop by randomly for coffee or something sweet. Today I placed an order online for a chocolate hazelnut cake. Unfortunately it was unavailable when I arrived to pick up it up. The nice gentleman who helped me at the online pick up counter Tim turned it all around by refunding my original order and as a courtesy, he gave me two cakes to take home. Tonight I got to try the coconut cake and the Matcha tiramisu cake. I had such a horrible day today and wanted something sweet to lift my spirits. I went home very happy and Tim has no idea how impactful his act of kindness was. That's what I call amazing customer service!!! read more

We'll behaved dogs are welcomed at the outdoor tables on Chapman avenue. Only certified guide animals are allowed indoors.

They do not offer valet parking at the Orange location. There's also limited parking so you might have to drive around a bit.
What are the hours for the Orange location?
They just opened for business today. Currently the hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. This is subject to change in the future depending on how busy they are in the evenings.
