Mounted our TV for us.
Melanie B.

As a first time home owner, my husband and I didn't know where to start with all the electrical projects we had identified. Javier was so reliable, professional, and efficient with his time with a wide range of projects - hanging ceiling fans, installing lights, hanging string lights in the backyard, moving outlets, mounting TVs...he did it all and he did it confidently. He even helped us out with random home projects when we are questions or concerns with items that weren't necessarily electrical. His prices are fair and he is an excellent electrician. We HIGHLY recommend going with US electrical/Javier.

US Electric Contracting has very reasonable prices. I first hired them to install a light fixture and look at my stove since it wasn't working properly. Javier was on time, very professional and got the job done. I hired him again to install ceiling fans in both my kids room. They look fantastic.

Called Javier on a Monday afternoon explaining Electrical problem on my parents Circuit breaker in East Co and he immediately responded asking if Wednesday worked for us. He showed up on time and immediately took care of the problem. We found him extremely nice, personable and very honest as the Circuit breaker only required a minor repair. He said it was old, but did not recommend spending the $$ on a new breaker. This is the 3rd time I have used Javier, Ecobee Thermostat install, large ceiling fan I purchased at Costco, and recently for the circuit breaker issue. We had the same great experience every time and referred him to our neighbor who hired him for all the Recessed lighting in their new home here in Coronado.

Javier and his crew replaced the old aluminum wiring in our new house and did some rewiring of the AC and other items.

The business still features offerings from Mati's, but it is now a food collective. A chicken wing vendor and a future chicken and waffles vendor will be sharing the same kitchen. Parking is free for up to 30 minutes in the shared lot. After that duration, you need to pay at one of the available kiosks. Since these were the early days of The Playground, there were operational kinks that need to be smoothed out. First were the unusual business hours (e.g. 9 am to 9 pm on Thursday and Friday, only 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday, etc). My initial attempt to visit occurred after work on a weekday. Despite the supposed closing time of 11 pm, the doors were locked at 5:30 pm. Second was the lack of prices on the menus. That is a cardinal sin in my book because if you are open to the public, then you owe it to the customers to disclose the costs. The first item for my to-go order was a snack size serving (six pieces) of Chicken Wings. I picked Bonnie's Barbeque for a sauce that featured a sweet and smokey flavor. The wings were coated with the sauce and not deep fried which made them a bit healthier. The second item was a Birria Quesadilla that came with consome on the side. A flour tortilla was filled with cheese, marinated shredded beef, cilantro, and onion. It was then sliced into smaller triangular pieces and then separated by aluminum foil in a takeout box. The consome had moderate richness while the cheesy, beefy tortilla was filling. I didn't understand the meaning of the new moniker as the interior setup had not been modified. It certainly did not have the ambiance of a playground. My first impression of this place was a three star rating with multiple areas of needed improvement including signage on the marquee. If one is driving down Mission Blvd, then there is no way to notice from the roadside that The Playground even exists.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was too appalling to ignore. I visited the…read moreplayground with high hopes based on the reviews, but what I got instead was a stomach-turning disaster. I ordered the Birria Crunch Wrap, and halfway through eating, I discovered a long strand of hair buried in the food. Not just on top in the food. It was clearly cooked into the dish, which tells me that basic hygiene in the kitchen is completely lacking. When I pointed it out to the server, she barely apologized and offered to remake it, as if that would magically erase the thought of chewing through someone else's hair. No manager came to speak to us, no discount, no sense of urgency or genuine concern. The rest of the food wasn't memorable either--bland, lukewarm, and overpriced for the quality. But honestly, after the hair incident, I couldn't bring myself to take another bite. If you value cleanliness and basic health standards, avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that know how to wear a hairnet.

From the moment we arrived, Sherlyn at the front desk set the tone for our entire stay. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and genuinely celebrated our arrival. It didn't feel like a standard check-in--it felt like being welcomed home. Sherlyn's warmth, attention to detail, and effort to make us feel special made a lasting impression on us. At Barefoot Bar and Grill, Taylor took excellent care of us during our meals. She made sure we were always comfortable and well taken care of, and you would never guess she's only been working there for a month. Her professionalism, kindness, and natural hospitality really stood out. Nicole, the bartender at the pool, also added to the experience with great service and a friendly, relaxed vibe that made poolside time even better. Overall, the staff here elevated our entire stay. It's rare to find a team that consistently delivers this level of genuine hospitality. We left feeling well taken care of and already looking forward to coming back.

We waited over 15 minutes at the Barefoot Bar before anyone acknowledged our table or took a drink order. After being seated, we ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes without service and were ready to leave. Unfortunately, the experience didn't improve. When we checked out, it took another 30 minutes for the front desk to retrieve our stored luggage. In total, we spent nearly an hour waiting on things that should have taken just a few minutes. This isn't a staffing issue that guests should have to absorb, it's a management issue. Paradise Point is a beautiful destination, but leadership needs to refocus on guest service, training, and operational execution. Until that happens, the experience doesn't match the setting.

I wasn't given the manual and all I could find online were PDFs that would only load with Flash player (thanks iPhone) and websites of sarcastic owners scolding people to "read their manuals." I was completely SOL, about to miss the entire event I was supposed to record and there was probably no way they were going to refund the cost of the rental equipment. I pulled up Yelp and began seeing that all camera stores in my area where now closed (8:45pm on a Friday night), except for one who didn't list a closing time. I called. Trevor answered. He was just finishing up a shoot and was in my neighborhood. Minutes later, we were on the street, troubleshooting my dilemma. Within moments the issue was resolved. Trevor refused payment, shook my hand, and was off, like a superhero into the night, not looking for gratitude or reward...just out there, doing the right thing. Trevor, thank you so much! Been glad for a long time that they're around to rent from!

The music might have been 200 db. The only way I could communicate with my wife was to literally scream at her, and that was only half successful. The service was terrible. The waitress finally came to our table after maybe 15 minutes. She started talking to us then stopped mid sentence, and went to another table. Didn't see whet again for another 15 minutes. Finally she came back and asked, can I help you. I responded, can we get some drinks please. Anyway we ordered our drinks. The drinks arrived after the appetizer. She said the bartender was pretty slammed, but when we looked over, they seemed to be just talking to each other. Anyway the food arrived. We had to call her back because we had no utensils. That took another ten minutes. We had muscles, but nothing to put the shells in, so I just piled them on the table which then of course started this pool of sauce around them, and the table got quite messy. All in all, having the music so loud quite frankly I think I might have hearing loss, and the service being so terrible I couldn't wait to get out of there. Our bill was $200. Perhaps I expect too much???
