They are in the process of updating the outside of the post office as well as the mini shopping plaza it's attached too so parking spots have been limited. The inside Mail Drop box is usually packed so you have to drop off the bigger items to the side of the counter or wait in line to drop them off. The outside mail boxes are for letters and smaller packages. **Recently I dropped off a small package in the bigger drop off box that I always drop packages in. Unfortunately for some reason it was never scanned, the buyer reached out and it showed the tracking as shipping label created. I filed a missing mail report since it's been a month and still no updated. I suggest if you have a small package wait in line and hand it to a person. **also this is rare to happen, I never have mail missing but now for smaller packages I'll be waiting in line. read more

This is my go-to post office. It is hit & miss for busy-ness. At times, it is slammed & other times, only a few people. The good thing is the staff are quite competent. The people have been there for years & are very helpful. They give you a form & you jump back in rather than going to the end of the line. They have helped secure packages with tape or given suggestions for over-sized labels. This is the only place for my zip code, but, once-in-a-while, I have to go to Creekside. Their hours at Creekside are not even correct for picking up packages & you drive back three times to find out the card is for a package already delivered. If I had my way, I would always go here. Even during COVID, the line was out the door at the holidays. If they are busy, go to Saugus Drugs, Acton or go to Mail & More or Mailbox place on Soledad & Sierra. read more

Don't ever drop off any packages at all unless you scan them in and hand them to an employee and get a receipt. Otherwise you risk the chance of theft. I sell sports cards on eBay from time to time. Recently I sold a few cards that requires several packages. Dropped them off at usps here in canyon country, in store inside the outgoing package mail. Somehow the two most expensive packages go missing but all the others make it to there destinations with no problem. I find that kind of interesting. THIEVES!!! We sent a suit to my cousin in Washington and he NEVER received it. The package went missing, and never even got sent out from the facility. We were extremely suspicious of the people who worked the desks, but decided to count it as a loss and forget about it... because what can we do? THENNNN.. I needed to find a Post Office near our new home. So I always use Yelp to find things. I was directed to this Post Office which was only 2 miles from our current errand. There was two people in front of me and the wait was minimal. The service was excellent, the person who helped me send a Priority package was friendly and helpful. I had a Manila envelope and a large Priority envelope that my pen would not write on that envelope. She gave me a label to fill out, then realized it was cheaper if I used a different envelope to send the documents. She placed my envelope inside the other package. With her help I paid less for sending my documents. It was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend this Post Office. Had a frustrating experience at USPS today. I bought a box inside the store, used the pre-cut tape it came with, and added a little of my own from home. When I went to ship it, the lady at the counter questioned if I paid for the box (even after her coworker confirmed I did) and then made a big deal about the tape. Apparently, they charge if you use their tape--fine, but the way she said it made me feel like I was doing something wrong. A little kindness goes a long way. Just inform people, no need to make them feel like criminals over a box and some tape! read more

Honestly the WORST !!!! Such a slow post office I drop off packages in their big drop box and my packages go missing or don't get scanned in for 3 days ,then 3-4 days after it will appeared as received STILL in the same canyon country location. . Seems to me like they don't check the big box often because if it's not full , it's holding my packages for days .,Which is damaging to small businesses . Honestly even though the Valencia location is 20 minutes away it might be worth the drive to avoid the headache. This post office seems like its been forgotten and seems just rundown. You can tell that the employees that work as clerks are tenure because they themselves don't follow rules/regulations and do not have sense of urgency. I normally come to this USPS because it's walking distance from my home and I can easily drop off time-sensitive mail and packages. It's mind-boggling that during the middle of the pandemic, one of the workers would not wear a mask. I usually don't need to wait in line, but there there was one instance, where the line wrapped around the corner of the P.O. boxes (passed the front door), and once I made it to the clerk area, one of the workers was taking her sweet time, having long side conversations with customers. I do believe that customer service goes a long way, but not when the wait time is over 20 mins to speak to an employee. I don't enjoy going to post offices, but I mean... Horrible customer service. Blonde woman with long hair and 80's bangs was so rude. Another man with a military haircut and mask on (way past mask mandates ended) was extremely rude too. Not helpful at all. They told me I had to go to UPS and I asked if they know where the closest one is and they said "We don't keep track, we don't work with them. We have no idea where there is one in this area" with a rude tone. I looked it up & It's less than a mile and a half away. There's no way they didn't know that. Even if they were honest, there's a nicer way of speaking to people and they need to figure that out. Would not deliver oversized package because it did not fit into our mailbox (it's a stroller so of course it doesn't) - which large packages have never been a problem, and always delivered to our door. Just like most of you, I enjoy reaping the benefits of living in the future, and occasionally rely on modern technology (while my crystal ball is equipped with wi-fi, it only gets the slower 'b' wi-fi: not 'g', or that new-fangled, faster 'n'). So a few months ago I used my handy-dandy iPhone 4 (which has the USPS app on it) to find the closest location that offers automated postal center (APC) services: this Canyon Country location pops up. Great, as I have some eBay items that need to get into tomorrow's mail (it was around 9PM, so the Post Office had been closed for awhile, and since I'll be working during the hours that post offices are open, I needed to drop this stuff in a box). This location is advertised as an APC, which means customers can purchase postage and drop their items into some of those free Priority Mail flat-rate boxes, leave them in a secure mail box, and be on their merry way (did I mention this was around Christmas time)? To my dismay, I am greeted by the sign shown in the pics above ("Mail drop broken: do not use"), which means I now have to detour further off the 14, and drive 10 extra miles into downtown Santa Clarita to leave the parcels in THEIR APC. Now I dunno about you folks, but I find that unnecessarily wasting a lot of gas and time generally doesn't put me in the best of moods, and creates a whole lot of avoidable frustration... So to update: I was back in the area today, some five months later, only to see THE DAMNED BOX IS STILL BROKEN! It hasn't been fixed!! Same sign is posted! So USPS, either update the USPS iPhone App to NOT advertise this Canyon Country location as offering APC services, or better yet: Canyon Country branch manager, see to it that a repair person fixes the drop box! Because as it stands, it's false advertising for USPS to claim there's APC services offered here, when in fact there ISN'T: without a secure place to leave packages when the Post Office is closed, there is no after-hours services available (and note that the post office in Santa Clarita has a drop for leaving parcels behind a LOCKED door, in addition to offering an APC machine for purchasing postage). So, do any Yelp readers wanna wager how long it going to take for the Canyon Country Branch Manager to fix the broken APC mail drop? Clearly they don't care about their customers, or it would've been fixed MONTHS ago (and who knows how many others are out there who've had a similar frustrating experience after hours but didn't complain; hence the branch manager thinks it's perfectly OK to leave the drop in it's broken state, since customers who don't complain don't matter?). It's frustrating situations like these which don't do anything to counter the stereotype of the lazy civil servant. And FWIW, I've generally been extremely happy with the USPS, with no lost packages in decades of using their service (knock on wood). read more

They installed a crap cluster box that is easily broken into. It's been broken into multiple times. Around the block from us (same nice area), they've got a better one that's not so easy to break. Asked them 3 times to put a halt on mail delivery until the lock is fixed. They continued to deliver the mail even though the effing door was hanging open. The service is terrible at the post office, as customary with most post offices. Not unfriendly, but ridiculous lines. I go to ups just to avoid this crap. Additionally, they consistently do not deliver the mail 25 to 30 percent of the time. We get charged penalties by our utilities because they aren't delivering the mail consistently. They sent a rebate check that was freaking important back to the sender. When I spoke with the sender they had the exact correct address. They have done this so many times where we don't get our bills it's really pissing me off. Do they give a crap? NO. They are pieces of shiz. This is what you get with government monopolies. The last time I went was about 2 months ago- all were wearing masks. Yay! When you approach the counter an angry woman with colored hair makes you feel like you are bothering her, and thinks that she is entitled to tell you things that are not necessarily true. This a community establishment where you should feel welcome and happy when you walk in to business with the United States Postal Service. Unfortunately this girl or woman (I can't tell with her work attire) does not give me that feeling. They should reconsider her employment... It is very inconvenient for those who work a 9-5 job. Either we have to hope to get off work early or take the day off to go to this post office. The lady that works there is already starting to close the doors at 4:57pm. All the other post offices I know of close at 5:30pm. The large package drop off has a "broken" sign. Exceptional customer service provided by Neri. My husband purchased stamps through the machine in the lobby and affixed what he thought was a stamp to the envelope and deposited it in an outside mailbox. When he returned, he felt the "receipt" was what he affixed. In a panic, we called to see if this was indeed the case. We talked to Neri. He listened to our concerns and said he would take a look and let us know. He called us back with 5-10 minutes. It turns out it was not the receipt but the actual stamp so we were good! awful customer service to say the least. the USPS has a monopoly per US Code with regard to letters. yet unless one buys additional services not in compliance with the fees & pricing of their webpage they will not transport the letter. they are giving the wrong information, first pretending there is not a form 2865, once i ask for it they produce it. per the webpage first class international mail has the option of three types of add-ons, certified, registererd and return receipt. one can choose 1, 2 or all three options. yet the post office does not want to accept the letter unless one is willing to purchase the most expensive option, even if not needed or wanted. discrimination against international mail customers, price gauging, abuse of a monopoly, criminal consequences for the customer were they to use another service, ... what seems to be the problem before christmas during a pandemic ? read more

I don't go inside very often, but every time I do, I have a great visit. Often come to this post office. It is busy at most times, but it's close to my house so I opt to come here. Nar and Betty are always pleasant to deal with. Anytime they see me, they ask how I'm doing as well as my daughter with a smile. The parking is a bit scary because there are always people walking through it and a lot of cars coming in and out. Even though there are several customer service Spots there is generally only one person to help you and the 1 person who is helping people does not acknowledge that there's another 15 people in line.
