This Post Office is a joke. Like another reviewer said, only two workers working at any given time so service is EXTREMELY slow. They also close at Noon on Saturdays so for those people who work and only have time to go to the post office on weekends and if you have to take kids to their sporting events on Saturday mornings, you're screwed. My mailbox was full since I was out of town for the week and they left me a tiny piece of paper telling me to pick all my mail up at the post office. Being that I rarely come to this post office I went online to check their hours and the hours are broken down depending on the service you need... So I saw that the pick up service hours said 8:30 a.m to 6:00 p.m (as well as the retail hours). I get here at 5:20 p.m and it's all closed!! Part of me had a feeling it was 5:00 p.m but the website for THIS location stated otherwise. The door says full-service hours 8:30 a.m to 5:00 p.m, okay, cool. That still doesn't explain why it says otherwise online.... Can't even imagine how much of an inconvenience this causes people when they're trying to refer to their website. The other few times I have been here was to drop care packages off to my brother-in-law who is in the military. And yes, I can agree with other Yelpers that the long gets ridiculously long and I've never seen more than two people working the counter when it gets hectic. read more

Recently moved in to my new home and my mailbox won't work. I started to worry that mail would start piling up. I was confused what to do next so one day I asked our mail lady about it. She was very nice, she let me explain what's going on, kept a good distance between us. She then tested my key on the spot and then sprayed WD-40 on the lock and voila! It works now! She saved my day! All the stress and overthinking that I had to go through a process of filing paperwork and replacing a lock was gone at that moment. Thank you so much to our mail lady, Terathia (Terri), for helping me out and checking the mailbox key off of my to-do list in my new home!!! read more

Not helpful at all . Mail carrier incorrectly delivered my package by placing it in a package locker that was already given to someone else causing my package to be taken by whomever they gave the extra key to. The staff was no help and no I'm just out of a freaking package I've had issue before but this really was the last straw. Supervisor was not really trying to help after I waited for him . read more

Hey, it's a post office. I really don't expect above average service from most government run agencies such as this or any other post office. Unless you get here right when it opens, you can expect a pretty long wait. It took me about 40 minutes to get from the end of the line to the counter. In fairness to the business, some of the customers don't help to speed the process along. I've seen so many people come here either totally unprepared, or even more frustrating is that they engage in chatty conversations about most anything. I wish the postal workers would keep it friendly, but at the same time keep things moving and discourage people who want to fulfill their desire for conversation with the customer service people at the postal counter. Other than the wait, it's not that bad. They sell stamps, greeting cards, and get your packages sent to their destinations. That's what's most important. read more

This is the local post office branch, less than a 5 minute drive from the house. The parking situation isn't *that* bad. Even with the tons of people in line I'm always able to find a parking spot. The BIGGEST issue I have with this place is the line. I've been here at least 5 times and every single time I'm there there's ALWAYS a line that almost reaches the main entrance (thank goodness not quite out the door). From my observations it is quite understaffed - one or two counters staffed with people and another counter to the side that is occasionally staffed. If you only have a package to pick up most likely you will go faster as there will be calls for people who only have packing slips to be served first. Luckily for all the times I have been there I'm in and out the door in less than 30 minutes. When I finally get to the counter the person is always nice and is efficient at their jobs. The actual procedure for whatever I'm doing takes less than 5 minutes. The big pro is that Priority Mail now comes with tracking (a little more than $5) and if you can bear the lines is preferred to UPS Ground (a little more than $9) as it's cheaper. read more

This is your typical post office, in terms of services, etc... Friendly staff, for the most part. Two things of note: 1) The parking lot and entrance/exit areas are atrocious. There is always somebody nearly backing into someone or nearly sideswiping someone. Often, there is a line on Kuhn street awaiting entering the parking lot. Really? Someone can't design this better? 2) The DT area for the mail drop-off boxes is on the other hand, well constructed. Ease of flow, unobstructed entry/exit, just an easy experience. read more

This is a poorly designed post office. It's very small for the large (and growing) area it is, for a lack of a better word, serving. There are only a few registers which creates the long, slow-moving lines. My biggest gripe is that, on a number of occasions, they didn't scan in my packages as being received right away. When you are an eBay seller like myself, it creates a situation where it makes your customers wonder if their item is on the way or not. One package took 3 wks to get to finally get a status update on the tracking number! It was only going to Northern California! I never have a problem with packages not being scanned in at other post offices. It's unfortunate this post office is closer to me. It's "service" like this that is forcing me to use UPS from now on. read more

Ran to the post office 8 minutes before closing because I realized I'd forgotten to put an address on my envelope from earlier. I asked Edwend about it and he disappeared for a bit...after I had given up hope he returned 20 minutes later with my envelope! According to other employees he searched everywhere for it, and even continued to after closing! Now THAT was some great customer service. Thank you Edwend!! Rodney, gave us no answer to the questions that we asked, and kept his hands clean saying how the priority 2 day delivery was not guaranteed, and that it was no ones fault that my package was delayed. we pay extra to get two day shipping, and we get nothing in return. to top things off, he just walks out on us. and he said " i will gladly give you your money back" and then when i asked him to he said he couldnt do it, that we had to ask the person that sent us the package to get our money back. So I guess the customer isnt always right. read more

My wife is a regular because she ships out of here from her small business. She does her own postage and shipping labels so it is easy for her. But for the short time I sit in the parking lot (which in itself brings it down to 2 stars as a disaster) I see disgruntled patrons who go in and wait in long lines with 'This is not worth it' written all over their face. There's plenty of parking here, but when you leave it could get a little tight leaving on that sidewinder road. Don't bring your large truck or SUV here. Service is pretty slow - there was only 2 tellers and the line can easily get backed up. I really think they should hire more workers so that more people can get in and out faster. read more

A few of them are nice. But there are times that there will be a long line. There are kiosk here but only accepting credit or debit cards with it can take cash and some of it is not offered at the machine like media mail. read more

They overcharged my mail. I put First Class stamps on my mail and they treated as Forever Stamps. Had to argue with the cashier and they didn't know that the "Saving Vanishing Species" were First Class stamps. I always seem to have my time wasted by morons at this particular USPS location. read more

Customer service is bad. I was receiving a package from UPS but final delivery from USPS that was 3 day delivery. UPS dropped the package with USPS on day 2 in the morning. Since I received notification the past office received it I called to ask about delivery date. The USPS person who answered the phone could find my package because he claimed they had not received it and that that tracking number was a UPS tracking number not a USPS number. Didn't receive my package for 4 days. Terrible customer service. read more

This location is pretty much always packed... On their busiest days they seem to be understaffed, on regular days they seem to work extra slow. Staff can be a bit dry, no humor...very to the point. This is the worst US Post Office in the South Bay. All the employees are very slow and the line backs up outside the door. There is one particular employee who is slower than the rest. The average wait here is 30 minutes. Go to the post office in Bonita. read more

I don't know what this place does behind the counter, but every package or piece of mail that I send through here does not get the tracking updated for at LEAST a week. It seems like they just don't scan my packages, and they don't get scanned at all until they arrive wherever I'm sending them to. This place constantly has me worried about the mail I'm sending getting lost. I do not have this problem at other post offices. read more

I've lived at my house since 2010 and the majority of my packages have arrived until recently. Whoever is delivering the packages keeps delivering it across to my neighbors house. Luckily they are honest people. I called to complain and there is a 40-50 min wait at the 1800 number and almost the same for the local number. This is just ridiculous. Horrible experience!! The "Manager" at this location heavy set white lady was so rude and very condescending! Long story short my husband had a package sent to this horrible location on 9/8/2017. When he went to to pick it up ( less than a week later) one of the workers said they had shipped it back to England because it was past 30days. My husband let them know it was less than a week, that's when the rude manager step in. She noticed that the mail man put down 8-9-17 instead of 9-8-17 THIER MISTAKE! So because they did that they shipped it back and told my husband that she couldn't go to England to get the package, there was nothing she can do. He needed the item by the weekend but because someone's mistake in that facility and know one bothered to check dates now they are making my husband pay shipping again. This is unfair and injustice. We are tax payers, technically we pay their paychecks. It's so frustrating and to see other post similar to mine, rude customer service, losing or making costly mistakes, I will look into what the community can do to change that facility as tax payers! read more

This is my local post office and I love it. I found that the staff is extremely helpful and kind. Gloria is lovely, very friendly and helpful. Jane is very nice too. Not in a gushing way, granted, but matter of factly nice. The gentlemen working there have supplied superb service and are very helpful too. I rarely need to wait too long in the queue. If it's not nearing a holiday, I'm in and out of the post office within 5 minutes between 9 and 12, in the morning. It's challenging work; where so much mail and packages pass through. Somewhere along the line, there will be mishaps, missed deliveries, delays... etc. But when that has happened to me, I have received help from this branch and have had positive outcomes. I have also called by phone a few times. They take a while to answer, but are helpful when they've answered. And usually my requests get met. My mail carrier Will, has been exceptional! And he is missed when he takes time off. Tonya is lovely and very friendly too, when she fills in on the weekends. I hope this branch stays open and continues to serve the community well. read more

This postal office has horrible service! Postal workers don't pay attention to details. Twice within one month my packages were delayed or lost. The first time my package went to the wrong post office. It was sent to a post office in Rancho San Diego. It was then sent back to the hub office in Poway then resent to Chula Vista. This package was delayed by one week and was only to take 2-3 days from its origin. Today another package was lost! My tracking reflected: USPS , Delivered, In/At Mailbox 05/30/2017 3:40pm CHULA VISTA CA 91914. It was NOT in my mailbox. Now I have to contact these inconsiderate, lazy, people a second time to have them locate my package. I wish the workers would pay attention to details as if it was something they were patiently waiting for. Who knows now who has my package as it was delivered in someone else's mailbox!!!! Hopefully whoever received my package will be courteous enough to return it back to the post office. One star is giving this post office too much credit. read more

If you have to stand in line for anything, I suggest NOT going to this particular post office. The workers are slow and the line is out the door. I tried to drop some postage paid packages off yesterday and both drop box bins were full and would not open. I tried to leave my packages at the front counter and the clerk snapped at me for leaving them there (these are already paid for) She told me to put my packages in the drop boxes, I had to tell her 3xs that they would not open, and then she finally said "oh yea theyre probably full".. this was in front of a huge line of customers. Poor customer service and what are these people doing in the back that they cannot clear the packages from the drop boxes!! GET TO WORK PEOPLE! read more

This must be the worst, most unfriendly Post Office I have ever been too. I walked in at 5pm, the doors were open and I was waiting in line. One of the employees there tells me and another guy we have to leave and come back tomorrow becoz they are closed. I told the employee we are already in the building, the doors were open when we walked in at 5pm. He did not care he just told us to leave. I'm definitely going to do my best to try not use this service that does not have any customer service skills especially when there are so many other services that understand the value of a customer. read more

This location is so lame. The phone is always off the hook (for example today I have been trying to call for three hours and it's a busy tone each time! Not the first time!). And I shipped a small package on Saturday and it still has yet to be scanned for my tracking number (it is now Thursday!) Super lazy and careless place of business.
