Based on most of the Yelp reviews I have seen so far, I agree with most Yelpers that this place is an absolute joke. Claudia, Manager Ron, and Rey are lucky they have jobs at this point. Every time I enter the post office, there is a long ass line that extends all the way to the entrance. If you're lucky enough to get the blonde lady Claudia, I wish you the best. She is the crankiest person I have ever met. Not even a smile or a "thank you for your business." Ron is also an absolute joke. I watched this fool scold an elderly lady for not knowing how to properly ship an item. Hey Ron! If you're reading this maybe you should learn some customer service etiquette. Instead of embarrassing the customer, maybe show her how it needs to be done. Rey, you are also included in this. Instead of giving that nice lady with kids a 5 minute lecture because it was her first time shipping, why don't you direct her to some basic shipping guidelines so she knows what to do next time. No need to make her feel bad and embarrass her in front of 16 people. You only made yourself look like a dumb ass. I would give this shit hole ZERO STARS if I could. I wish I could give negative stars about an establishment. By far the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. It's a struggle trying to get anything accomplished at this location, and majority of the people who work here are completely rude, they don't give a shit and they make it known just by how they interact with customers. I can count on one hand how many people who work here who are actually sweet and actually care, but unfortunately they can't make up for the majority of the bad ones. They refuse to deliver packages because they don't want to walk up a flight or flights of stairs, sometimes they leave one notice for pick up and if you don't pick it up right away they send it back, your supposed to get a second and final notice. Other times they don't leave a notice at all, or send it straight back to sender. I've had emails from companies saying I had an item sent to the local post office and it should be out for delivery soon, only for them to turn around a few days later and say they had a package returned back to them. If you do get a pick up notice, they have a window for pick up only, most times it's closed with a sign that says to stand in the main line with everyone else, (which I can understand when there is a lack of staff) they can see you standing there with your slip, they wait until you get to the front and tell you you're in the wrong line and stand over by the window and radio someone from the back to open the window. You have a door bell on the window that rings in the back, why close it at all. I get it, you don't wanna be there, most people don't wanna be there, they wanna get in and get out a soon a possible, don't be a dickhead or waste each other's time read more

The only reason I give 2 stars is for the automated kiosk. I am trying to track a package and the lady at another post office gave me a phone number which for some reason goes to the Eastlake hotline for the carriers. The lady that answered at the hotline number gives me another number that is always busy! I've been trying for three days, always a busy signal!! I call the hotline number again, and the lady tells me rudely, try the other number.. I have to keep this one open for carriers. I'm fine with that so far as they answer at the other number! Today, the wait was not bad considering their were 5 ahead of me and it took me less than 3-4 before I was helped to mail out my return package. What I noticed is the lady on the side was helping out with all mail out unlike before her station was limited to just mail not packages. I believe this is why the line went faster this time around. Moved to 91915 about three years ago, and I learned quickly that if I needed something delivered, do everything you can to avoid using USPS to deliver to me. I live in the third floor and learned about their "agreement" with my first go around. A note was left in my empty mail bin stating the reason for no delivery was because my mail box was full, so I went to the USPS website to reschedule delivery. And this was something that could fit in my parcel locker or the amazon hub that we have. Got no response for a few days. I finally drove over there and the lady at the front desk said the reason was because we dont deliver to the third floor. Tell me that on the note then so I'm not sitting around you jackholes! Next time I had to get something delivered, I paid extra to have it on a certain day, same thing, therefore I had to pick it up, so I should be refunded my delivery money. And now today. My birthday is tomorrow, and paid for something to be here today. Note left in the mail bin, empty, stating my mail box was full. Avoid the Kuhn drive post office as much as you can because monkeys work in the delivery room. read more

When it was my turn to go I told the lady that I was here to pick up a package. And her first response was what would make you think that your package is here in a rude tone. Like many on yelp, I avoid the USPS in general. All I wanted was to find out what the post office hours are going to be this day after Christmas. After entering my zip, the official USPS website showed me all of the satellite businesses that carry stamps and OMITTED THEIR OWN POST OFFICE from the results! How lame is that? Wow super impressed today -tax day! Not only did they have extended hours but it was all hands on deck! The long lines were being managed multiple postage workers. Lines moved quickly and workers very helpful and accommodating, The most challenging was finding parking. read more

Whoever designed this post office parking lot and traffic flow had their head on backwards. The flow of traffic should enter near the intersection with Eastlake Parkway and exit on Kuhn, not the convoluted way it is now that requires U-turns to avoid making a left against the sign. Today the entrance doors had so much dark dirt scum around the handles and edges that you could catch exotic diseases from touching them. Please scrub the door edges and handles and halt this gross build-up of gunk. Makes me think the interior surfaces are likely loaded with germs too. read more

Today's Date is 12/28/2014 On December 16th 2014, I again went to inquire about my all of my missing mail and physically hand my note with all of the information about steps I had taken to fix the problem USPS has created for me to the office manager at the Eastlake USPS location (who had failed to return the 6 messages left for him). Amazingly I managed to talk the elusive office manager, although it was a very brief conversation. I first handed him my note detailing the issue and then began explaining what the problem was, why I was frustrated about it, and how much time I had wasted attempting to fix it myself. He didn't hesitate to tell me that he wouldn't tolerate my sarcasm or tone and quickly threatened to have me forcibly removed from the post office by the Police Department. I asked the office manger if he was really serious about having me removed because he didn't like my sarcasm and tone, he was serious, so I stepped out of the post office and called the Chula Vista Police Department's non-emergency number myself. I then explained why I was calling, where I was, and then waited for the Chula Vista Police Department to arrive. The Chula Vista Police Department did show up (2 patrol cars, 3 officers), the officer I spoke to went inside the post office came back out roughly 15 minutes later and said the manger was willing to talk to me, I said great he should of done his job in the first place, the officer immediately stopped me mid-sentence and said he doesn't have to talk to you and if you are going to be like that, then I am not taking you back inside. I reluctantly agreed to not be sarcastic, once inside the office manager continued to not answer any of my questions, would not accept any responsibility for the issue, and didn't even suggest an alternative solution. If the post office manager can't handle mild sarcasm he should consider a career change, maybe the DMV or SSA (both places where he could continue to have a negative impact on the lives of people within the community he is paid to serve) would hire him? With the impressive work experience he has so diligently earned with an elite employer like the USPS where they only hire the best and brightest, surely he could write his own ticket. Although I doubt he would consider a career change, as he's already reached the pinnacle of the civil service industry and currently holds one of the most coveted job titles within the highly competitive industry of civil service. It is now December 28th I have yet to receive any of my forwarded mail for the entire period of November 19th - December 28th I do however get the "you've moved" coupon mail (ADT, Cox Cable, etc.) generated by the USPS official change of address form I submitted online. Note handed to office manager (redacted): December 16th 2014 My name is ________________, I am at a complete loss on how an official change of address has become so complex and impossible to figure out that even the professionals at the USPS cannot correct their own mistakes. I am now going to list what I have done in an attempt to fix the problem that the USPS has created for me (____________________) and now my father (____________________) as I now receive his mail, wrongly forwarded to my new address instead of my own. * On November 18th I submitted an Official Change of Address, it was approved and then verified on November 19th. I entered all of my information correctly (name, address, and I selected INDIVIDUAL ONLY for the change of address). * I have to date (December 16th) received none of my own forwarded mail from the USPS at my new address other than the Confirmation Letter. * 12 days after receiving no forwarded mail at my new address I contacted the USPS to inquire about where my mail was and when I should expect it. It is your typical post office where if you need to go up to the counter, expect a long wait and don't try to rush off anywhere. I was in here to get some stamps and it took almost 45 minutes to get through a line with only 10 people ahead of me with simple tasks. It didn't help that someone was trying to send out what looked to be 15 different packages with different weights but it seems like it could have been easier to have a separate window or area to just get stamps. read more

I think this post office has a friendly staff, I use to come here during peak hours and waited in there long lines. My first time there and I left very dissatisfied. First off I didn't find the handicap button for the doors, which must be horrible for handicap people, and makes it much easier to enter with a stroller, as in my case. Second, they refused to answer quick questions that take 2 seconds, and ask you to stand in line for a door. Third, they wanted me to buy tape to tape up my box! All other post offices tape the boxes for me! After she handed me some leftover tape, I had to tape it myself and use the pen to cut it, which took some time, and then the clerk got frustrated that I haven't filled out my customs form yet, so she asked me to step aside. Fourth, at the check out, I had to swipe my card5 times, all while holding my toddler in hand and trying to maneuver the stroller with the other. All in all, the atmosphere is tense, very unhelpful, I'll be going to the Fed Ex in order to avoid this place. And in case someone does read this, please have pens available at the counter and offer to tape the boxes for free. read more

Terrible customer service and the USPS is just terrible all around. They lost my package, it was sent to a wrong postal office then rerouted to the one by me. I was concerned because there was no tracking updated except that it was at the wrong post office so I called. The guy at the wrong office was nice but told my that my package had been routed to the correct office. I then called the correct office and the guy was very rude. My package was sent Priority mail and cost $500, so it was insured, which the guy commented on, (to me having to buy insurance shows the incompetence the USPS has all together). Then the guy said, "Well, it was misrouted and it is on the way here. I will get it later this afternoon and then you will get it tomorrow." I stated, "But it says I'm supposed to have it yesterday." He fires back, "That's not a guarantee, the only guarantee service is Express mail." I stated, "This is why no one wants to use the post office anymore." "Well if you want guarantee service you should get Express mail, if you want to use other carrier services I can't stop you." And then I find out, they tore my address off the label and that is why it got misrouted. Just terrible service. The USPS sucks and I do not use them. The only reason that they are being included in my life is because someone sent something to me through them. Other than that, they suck. And, because they are government workers who can't get fired, they just treat people any way they want. read more

When there are packages, we never receive them. We will be home all day waiting for it, and they won't even brother to ring the bell. They will just leave you a note inside your mailbox that said, sorry we missed you. Really? Because I am 200% sure I am home. Not to mention you have to go to the post office to pick up your package that you or your friend paid extra to have it delivered in 2 days. After I spoke to the manager, the same thing still keeps on happening. I guess it's too much work for them to go to your house and ring the door bell when they need you to sign for the package. They thought it will be much easier to just pretend they did and you are not home. But guess what? I DREAD going to this post office. The customer service is horrible. My friend sent me a package for Christmas and she accidentally switched up 1297 with 1279, but she had my name on the front of the package. The only person that was helpful in helping get the package back was Dee. I got the package back 2 months later, in which is was opened and it was taped back together. I asked to speak with Ron who was holding on to the package for me, but he was too "busy" to come out and speak with me. I mentioned to Justin the package was opened and he basically could care less. News Flash: You work with customers: some customer service skills are needed. Some advice-lose the I don't care attitude. Justin was awful, he could really use some customer service skills. I was basically told there is nothing they can do about the person opening my mail (it had my name on the front), so don't bother with insurance. I live near this post office and will not be using this one anymore. I should have known with the bad reviews. I will DRIVE farther to go to a Fed Ex to mail everything. Will not be going back to this one, stay far away. Some extra training is needed for this location along with the USPS. How do you close my case without any answers?? read more
