Leaving this review because my food donation was not picked up but service is spotty ALL the time. This was just the straw that... Mail carriers, at least mine, from this location can't seem to finish their route before quitting time. If I see them go down the opposite side of street late in the day, say after 4pm, then most likely won't come down my side. This was "fill up the food banks" day. Saw them deliver Mail and pick up food donations across the street. Never received my expected mail (Informed Delivery) and my food donation was not picked up. This happens more than should be considered normal. The carrier(s) must be standing by the time clock waiting for the whistle like Fred Flintstone at 5:00. My dad worked for USPS for 30+ yrs as an asst postmaster and postal inspector and i know this would never have happened on his watch. Tooooot......yabba dabba doo!!! read more

Very fast and helpful. I was in and out in less than 2 minutes for a change of address. The staff is kind.

I wish I can give this place a 0 star. They mishandled packages. I dropped off some important documents to get sent over and I was tracking it, but they never scanned it and it never left the site. They offered no resolution or help. How are they still open? I wish they would just close that one if they can't get proper staff. I've never had any issues at any of the locations. Maybe some minor things but nothing like this. Take your mailing needs somewhere else. read more

STAY AWAY! Absolute idiots running this place, called them all day to ask a simple question about a package that couldn't be delivered because my address wasn't verified. At first the dumbass on the phone said he's never heard of that, then he tells me my address is serviced by the Briargate location and I needed to talk to them. Drove 20 minutes to briargate and they informed me that my address is actually serviced by galley location. Couldn't make it to galley in time so my package will be shipped back to sender(overseas) now. Exceptionally rude and uninformed staff, I will be filing a formal complaint. read more

US Post Office - Tracking saying it was handed directly to me when it wasn't. - Post Offices Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

Normally I have had zero issues. However, this past week I've had two packages returned to senders for "invalid address." I confirmed the address with both senders and it was accurate. I had a third package sent 3 day priority over a week ago that shows forwarded to the wrong address and lost somewhere in Colorado Springs. I receive my normal mail, Amazon packages etc up until now, I've had zero issues. But three packages have been returned for NO reason. The address has been correct on every single one! I've called customer care whose stated they have no information on local post offices. I called this office over and over this morning for NO ONE to answer. I work and can not come in until the weekend. However, in the meantime, my packages are being returned and I am expecting an overnight package later this week that is time sensitive and perishable, yet I am unsure if it will arrive as I have no idea why my packages are being returned to senders. Especially after they show arrival in Colorado Springs and then out for delivery. WTF read more

Lose packages. Do not drop off your packages here without getting a receipt. When you ask why your package hasn't left the station in 14 days they say maybe you didn't package it well? It's been a while since I've updated this review and I regret it's taken me so long. It seems this office has changed up management in the last year and I have to say that I have been thoroughly impressed and satisfied with the service since! I've been blessed with two amazing carriers on my route who are on a first name basis with me and truly go above and beyond to take care of me and my business (thank you, Sherri and Matt!). Convenient (and only) place for passports near this side of town that I know of and be patient with the lady who does them because she told me no other USPS employee in town will sign up to help her, not cool guys. Help a coworker out! Unfortunately that causes a pretty big back up with passports. Keep in mind that isn't her fault so be patient. With that said, like most post offices the wait is crazy insane! There really isn't a good time to go unless you are cool with first thing in the a.m. Passports aren't until 10 I believe but it opens for other things earlier. Don't expect to "sneak in" when they are ready to close. I can understand that because they would never get to leave otherwise. Here is the secret to quicker service: if all you are doing is mailing something, getting stamps, the basics, there is a post office annex about two minutes north. It is in the strip mall next to Carefree cats and is soooo quick! Otherwise you will have to go to this location. Let's be honest with ourselves, no one likes going to the post office. It's busy, kids screaming and running around, and no please to sit. BUT I've been enough times to see how hard these employees work their tails off. I have mailed out 78 large size envelopes, from this destination, between June 22, 2016 to July 12, 2016. Out of those envelops only 14 have made it to their destination. Counter staff tries to be helpful but this is the most incompetently managed post office I have ever encountered. I have been shipping as an online seller for over 3 years and recently relocated here in town, so switched from dropping prepaid packages off at Briargate to this PO on Montebello. In the space of two weeks, i have had 5 out of approx 15 packages be delayed or lost. Manager Kheisa could not adequately explain to me why 3 out of 4 packages dropped off on Monday were not scanned as accepted until Thursday. (He suggested I did not drop them off when I, and my GPS tracking, says I did. Or alternatively, the packages were stolen from the drop box and brought back 3 days later by some unknown party). The fourth, larger package dropped off the same day was never scanned and appears to be lost. (He says I must not have shipped it at all, or someone stole it off the counter). Another package from two weeks ago now shows a cryptic "disposed by post office" on tracking info, which no one can explain. Not only have I had to reimburse two customers for their lost orders and take hits to my pristine seller metrics, but this manager, rather than check into what could be serious issues with the package handling procedures at his location, chose to insult my intelligence and integrity. My deliverer, Rita, flat out stopped delivering my mail, put a nasty note in my mailbox because she didn't like me putting the mail I didn't want in the trash bin below my mail box, started delivering my netflix DVD's to the leasing office when I spoke up about it, which meant I couldn't get them until the weekends as my work hours prevented me from getting there, so I finally had to cancel that service. Mail was taken out of the bin, which the STAFF at the apartment routinely clean, and shoved into my door upstairs. Financial documents and insurance documents were not deivered. I was locked out of the financial account while and had to convince them that the mail being returned was due to a mail carrier with a MAJOR ATTITUDE problem. This has gone on for over a year. I have complained to everyone I know to, and she still gets to make good money to screw with people whose taxes pay her. read more

The staff here is extremely brusque and rude. The lady at the counter told me my package was "a mess" because I had run out of packing tape and had to use duct tape, and told me, "You know, we'll have to go over this duct tape. It can unravel." And glared at me as if I had conspired to make her job harder. After I paid she slapped the receipt down, at least a foot away from me so I'd have to reach for it, and very coldly said, "You can leave now." I don't know what the hell her deal was, but I don't plan on ever going back there. read more

Mail delivery from this post office is terrible. Mail is often not delivered (to Resort at University Park Apts.) until 5pm or later, usually because it's a temp. carrier because the regular carrier is on vacation half the time. Even when he isn't, I often get other peoples' mail. I brought this to the attention of the manager but it made no difference. read more

Very poor service! I tried calling due to a lock box for packages & the key didn't fit. I let it wring for about 10 mins & then someone picked up & threw the phone on the desk & I could hear him talking as he walked away & heard other workers in the area talking! Good grief! The Montebello post office in Colorado Springs has gotten terrible. I just got off of the phone with some guy who was aloof, unfriendly, could care less and hung up on me before I could complete the request I was calling for. Mail supposedly delivered to my on Feb. 16 2019 yet was never received by me must have been put in the wrong box or stolen by the carrier. He refused to help though I told him I was not even expecting the package until March 8th (last week) that's why i was calling. He said it was delivered over a month ago and has been too long to do anything about it. He didn't even offer to start a search for it which I late found out I could do online. Don't go to Templeton Station!! Go to Old Farm Post office: 4810 Old Farm Dr #110, Colorado Springs, CO 80917. They get paid by the piece, so they actually work!! Templeton Station is a horrible branch!! I was trying to send a package; they canceled my postage, refused to mail my package and would not reimburse me for the postage - they say with glee. They usually have only one or two clerks working. This is typical government business. Just try to pick up a package or certified letter: They can'f find it!! Slow service here, not enough staff on hand for the amount of traffic this location gets. They get 2 stars rather than one because the few people who work here really do perform their jobs well given the circumstances they work under. They have gone out of their way to help me save money. If I could give zero stars I would. This PO location is the worst in the entire country and I have lived all over the US. They are constantly loosing my mail, and giving me other people's mail daily. They "misplaced" a large package I had mailed for FIVE WEEKS and finally found it out back in a corner of their floor! Our mail boxes at our townhouses were broken into over 5 months ago, and the USPS refused to fix them so we had to get all of our mail at their location (highly inconvenient but we dealt with it) until today, one day before I leave for a 3 week vacation, I go to the location to get my mail and am told that they fixed our resident mailboxes, and have left all our mail there, yet we won't have keys to access it for at least a week! Are you f****ing kidding me?! So, without informing us of this change, they lock the mail I NEED away the day before I leave for vacation! Honestly F**K this post office. Give your business to FedEx or UPS, where you know they won't frigg around with your mail and packages. read more

I rarely go to this location because of the slow service. Usually waste at least 30 minutes in line. Employees are in no hurry. Usually only 2 working at the counter. They need 3. I prefer going to the CPO (contract post office) location in Old Farm at 4810 Old Farm Drive, Ste 110, 80917. Much faster and friendlier. read more

They lose my mail all the time. I had one lie to me about when the mail carrier arrives. I waited for 3 hours bc I had important documents. They denied ever sending anything back. Come to find out from the company I was waiting on received it back with a note that stated this branch sent it back. The majority of them are rude. The only one who isn't rude is their supervisor .. he's very kind and patient. It's a shame they don't have the same people skills as their manager . I've read some bad reviews about this place all for its bad customer service and was frankly a little tepid to go here. However, my experience was fast and courteous. There was no line (went around 1pm) and the person I talked to was very helpful. Perhaps there are some bad apples working there but it shouldn't detract from the others who work hard. read more

The awful service is not limited to the Post Office alone, their deivers are so rude, and allow your mail to fall out of the mailbox because they do not close the mailbox door. It must be nice to have job security so you can be the most horrible, incompetent person and not have to be accountable. I have called several times and have spoke to John regarding my mail being forwarded in error. I have a hyphenated last name. A forwarding request was done for PART of my last name. I was told that even though my name is hyphenated, it will still be picked up in the forward request. During one phone call, I was told by the employee that answered the phone that he canceled the entire request so my mail would stop being forwarded. Well, I started getting mail again but not for long. It was being forwarded again AND my address was beginning to be changed at some companies I do business with BUT I DID NOT MOVE! I called again (previously tried several times on different days and it's either busy and stays busy or there is no answer), spoke to John, he asked me for my zip (no other info.) and put me on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back and no one answered the phone. Tried to call a few times but it was either busy or there was no answer. I called again today, John put me on hold several times but this time he did come back on the line. He told me that it was never cancelled. I guess whoever told me that (I am fairly certain it was John but I could be wrong) just lied to me to get me off the phone. John said I would have to cancel the forward request. I asked how I do that since I am not the one who put the request in. He said I could come in or fill out a form on line. I asked him, AGAIN, if I could cancel it since I am not the one who put the request in and do not have any info on it (i.e., confirmation code) and he said yes, there should be a form on line. I went to USPS.com and guess what, I need the confirmation code from the original forward request. I called back. He did say that he was waiting for my call because he asked his boss and he said that I could not do it online. I need go to the post office and cancel the request in person and show id. Overall, I have had the worst post office experience with this location that I have ever had in my 45 years. Unfortunately, I have no choice because this is the location that handles my mail. The US Postal Service has very much gone downhill in recent years. I'm wondering what will become of them if employees continue to be unaccountable. read more

Understaffed and rude! I was told to come here yesterday to report a missing money order and speak to a supervisor. I walk in already distraught over the fact that someone had stolen and cashed our money order. As soon as I walk in I noticed the huge line so I figured I'd ask the older lady working there if I had to make line in order to speak to a supervisor since I didn't need to send anything or pick up. Well, she sees me standing there with my cranky one year old in hand and rudely says "you have to go through the line! " So I ask her if I have to make line to speak to a supervisor and make a report" she then raises her voice, enough for everyone to hear, and starts saying "oh forget it! Forget it! Some people think they're more important than others and don't want to wait in line!" I told her she didn't have to be so rude and unprofessional and she couldve just answered my question" I have never felt so humiliated in my life. I will never be coming here again. I truly hope they do a better job and hiring their employees next time. read more

Well for starters I walked in around 3:20 today seeing the line was long, I thought no big deal they must know what they're doing seeing as there are only two employees. Well I waited in line patiently like the others who had been there long before me. Finally I'm next in line to be helped and one of the employees puts a sign on the desk saying next window please or whatever the sign said. She tells the other lady "I'm going on break" there is still a giant line that has no moved much. The older lady goes "yeah I'm sorry that took so long the lady didn't apparently understand what I was telling, she didn't even speak English." First of all you DO NOT trash talk your customers when you have a bunch of other customers just as frustrated as the lady who left with little to no help, second of all you do not just say you're going on a break while you have a long line of irritated and frustrated customers. Finally I get helped and I tell the older lady well I have never done this before I'm not sure what to do. She then briefly tells me little of what I'm supposed to do. I do what she tells me and walk back up to her, she then says "you need to have this completely read." I say "okay well you didn't tell me what completely ready is." she then says "well completely ready is having the box taped and ready to go." so I say "well can I use some tape." and she goes "oh we don't have tape y'all can use you need to purchase it." so I told her okay well can I purchase some and where is it located and she tells me I will purchase it when I have purchased my package so again I ask her where the tape is and she says its over there. OKAY well where the heck is over there? like was she no capable of pointing? I will give the lady who went on her break props because she was back within ten minutes, whether it was because that's all the time she had or because she realized they were busy and needed her help I don't know. She finally helped me and she was very nice and fast. I ended up leaving an HOUR later... I will never again go to this post office for anything and I suggest y'all don't either. I recommend to the managers that y'all start hiring better employees before y'all lose all of your business. read more

I am amazed at how above and beyond the staff went so that I was able to get my package, I had been expecting the certified mail since Saturday July 2nd and it was a holiday weekend so packages were delayed. Well I was waiting for the package today Tuesday July 5 and the mail carrier decided that she wasn't even going to knock on the door or ring the door bell, she just left the slip saying that it needed to be signed for (although she made NO Effort to even ring the door bell) anyways I believe the supervisor on staff was John ? and he was AWESOME as well as the ladies at the front windows whos names I unfortunately didn't get .
