The lady took my receipt and came back with my letter. I had to sign some form and I got my certified letter. Nice and fast. This is my review of my experience. Therefore, YMMV. This was a lifesaver. I yelped US Post Office in Elk Grove and found this location. I usually go to the one on Bruceville, next to Nathan's Chinese restaurant, but it is always busy and parking is a drag. So I set my waze to this location instead, because it was 4:35pm and I needed to get these packages sent out today. Looking at the photos, nothing was recent and therefore I was very skeptical if it was open for business or not. When I arrived, my waze directed me to a parking lot to the right side of the Century Theaters on Big Horn. I was getting worried at this point, until I noticed a smallish sign that pointed through a door at the corner of the building NEXT TO the parking lot I was in. I parked in the lot closest to that door and went through. I was now on an outdoor pathway that lead to another door to the right, so I went in there. This was a tiny hallway with a small counter. There was a very pleasant woman working the counter, who greeted me in the friendliest manner. I ask her if she could take my packages and she asked if they had prepaid labels. Mine did, so I said yes, of course! She scanned my packages and took them away. I asked if I could get a receipt and she said they do not, because they don't have the equipment for printing. So keep that in mind....you need a prepaid shipping label and NO they do NOT give you a receipt. I didn't have a problem with this since I saw (and heard) her scan my two packages. As I was leaving, there were about five other people there to send out stuff, but I can tell it is a lot faster at this location instead of Bruceville. I didn't take any photos, but will on my next visit and update this yelp review. read more

I had urgent legal documents to overnight, and the post office delivered exactly as promised. The clerk recommended the right service, scanned everything, and provided tracking. My papers arrived securely the next morning. The service was fast, the quality excellent, and the value compared to private couriers was outstanding. read more

Package was marked 'delivery attempted - vehicle blocking mailbox,' which has never been an issue before. I was told it would be delivered the next day, but it was not. Phone calls to the post office go unanswered. When I went in person, staff were unable to locate my package. Extremely poor communication and lack of accountability. read more

Everything in my mailbox was stolen end of March. I contacted this USPS and they initially dismissed me. Suddenly after the incident, my mail kept going missing. After making multiple reports, they finally admitted one of their carriers wrote my address twice in another mailbox and used this as an excuse for my missing items, after first trying to blame it on my maintenance worker. Strange that this "accident" was only discovered soon after I reported the theft, when I have been living here for years. Also odd that I only started missing mail after this as well. The whole thing sounded like a cover up. They still have not recovered my items and am still missing mail. They also told me they would contact my apartment manager to work it out but she still has not been contacted as of yet. Update: USPS contacted me and hopefully the issue becomes permanently resolved. read more

This particular post office is more focused as a distribution center with only one clerk station for customers. One clerk station means that the line can be completely at a standstill as the clerk tries to figure out a complicated issue like locating a lost package. Very friendly staff though. I received a note in my mailbox to either pick up my package here or schedule a redelivery since the mail carrier at the time couldn't find a secure place to drop off the package. Knowing how this post office functions for customers I think I'd just schedule a redelivery next time lol. read more

Our mailbox has been broken over two months !! No one is even escalating it so it can be fixed sooner . Everyone in my street are not getting their mail because of this . It's sad because I see older People lining up for this mail and some of them could even hardly stand up with their cane . This location never answers their phone. Their mail deliveries are NOT great. They need to learn how to read the addresses with street names. Mail always being delivered to wrong street name. Please hirer people who can read and get directions. Honestly this is ridiculous. Train them better. read more

What a waist of tax payers money. WOW!! They are not helpful and will never pick up the phone. They will hang up on you.

Nobody comes here unless they have to, (sort of like jail), because you can only pick up mail or drop off mail. Like a quickie conjugal visit at Folsom prison. No other services like stamps or other special services. It's mainly a distribution center. It has a large parking lot, and a small obscure entry way, like where's the entrance? Little to no signage, no glass windows, just a single door into a small room, with a counter no larger than your standard 5 foot bathtub. You wait in line through an unkept fenced and walled little courtyard, with nothing but rocks and weeds in it, making it as depressing as the looks on people's faces waiting in line. It's like your in line to get your cell assignment In prison, minus the orange suits and handcuffs. We came to get a mailbox key to one of those "Cluster" mail box arrays common in these here parts, and in Bay Area apartment complexes, but this was for a single family home in a nice suburb neighborhood, where nobody has a mailbox with a little red flag, they have to walk half a block to their USPS owned Cluster with their Cluster Box key. Efficient for USPS, totally inconvenient for homeowners. The woman in line in front of us, moved here from Oaktown (Oakland) , and had a Cluster mail box, which was destroyed (or should we say hacked, like in crowbar hacked) and had to come here and wait in line to liberate her mail daily on a jail break from this facility, until USPS repaired her cluster mail box! Wow, what a Clausterfauk! (which might be German slang for WTF?) We filled a form after waiting 30 minutes in line on a Friday at 10:30am, to get our chance at a Clausterfauk key, which would take at least 2 weeks to get. I hope it has a number on it that let's us know which of the 12-16 clausterboxes is ours? If not, we have to try each box? What a Clausterfauk! Now the lady behind the bathtub counter was nice and helpful, so no shade on her personally. But this USPS facility has the charm of the aforementioned penitentiary. And the last time I checked, the USPS is paid for by our taxes, yours and mine, kind of like that prison. And we're paying for a wait-in-line Clausterfauk in a prison bathtub? read more

I'm very disappointed in my local delivery. Recently I had a package delivered, it showed on my informed delivery that it was delivered to the package mailbox. We used their key and the box was empty. We checked, it wasn't there. Tried calling the PO for a few days, no answer. Went to the PO today only to be told the delivery person says they delivered it to the box. Person stated that there is a rumor someone has a master key. If that's the case the city should replace all the locks. They have no responsibility for my missing merchandise. read more

This has been an interesting year for the USPS. Nationally the USPS was impacted in many ways leading up to the election (I feel like it's still not back to normal). Locally, the grocery stores in the Elk Grove (i.e. Raley's & Bel-Air) area have closed their USPS service areas. Therefore, there has been an increase in traffic at the actual USPS locations. I utilize this location for dropping off packages with prepaid USPS shipping labels. I have also temporarily redirected my mail to this location when taking a lengthy vacation. To my understanding, this is not a full service USPS location. Therefore, services like purchasing stamps and shipping non-prepaid labeled packages are not provided at this location (there is a full service USPS location on Bruceville). The staff at this location are generally friendly. However, there is a lack of efficiency (this is an issue that plagues a lot of USPS locations). The lines are often really long, and the staff do not move with a sense of urgency. Because I do not like to complain without providing a possible solution, I will do so. Instead of making the front desk clerk retrieve mail for a customer, there should be a designated "mail retrieving clerk." The front desk clerk can use an earpiece to relay the name and address of the customer to the mail retrieving clerk (instead of requiring the front desk clerk to retrieve the mail). This will ensure that the front desk clerk remains at the front desk, and allows for the front desk clerk to simultaneously assist another customer as the other customer waits....just a suggestion! Other than the issue with efficiency, I appreciate this location and its friendly staff! read more

Horrible staff. I have been on and off the phone with Tony for the past two weeks regarding a lost package that was supposed to be delivered to me. Monday (Aug 26th), she stated she was going to get back to me with an update. It is now Sept 3rd with no update. I had to call myself for the 100th time. Their phones suck, you can't hear anything coming from their end. Ive called off various devices and it always seems to be a fault on their end. The delivery driver claimed to leave the package at my front door, evidently she did not. She could not remember if the house was a single or two story but some how in her mind she was able to remember a gray cat. We do not own a cat, there are literally no cats in our area what so ever. Everyone here is a laughing stock to the postal service. Ive been put on hold and hung up on not to mention completely ignored by these people. Especially Tony, disgusting behavior. At this point the only option you have is to go and speak in person which will be my next step. read more

This place is a farce of a post office. I have had to contact them several times over the years because of "attempted deliveries" when we were not home and "made deliveries" that never showed up. I have NEVER been able to contact them by phone! It just rings off of the wall. I have noticed it ringing while at the desk to pick something up there. They just ignore it. The problem has always been theirs. 99% of the time stuff gets here fine. It's that 1% that makes them really, really suck. They make mistakes. I want a post office I can count on. read more

I give one star because I cannot give any less. I was out of town for two weeks and asked for my mail to be held. When I got back home I went to this post office to get my mail. At least 80% of the mail held for me belonged to an address that was not mine. I went to the clerk at this post office, told her what had happened to me and her only response was "ah". When will those people fixed the post office. I have been living in Elk Grove for five and a half years and I have had more problems with mail here than the other 58 years that I have been living in California. read more

Every time I've come here to drop off packages, it has been a pretty quick process...little to no wait...especially on a Saturday morning! This is definitely in contrast to the USPS location off of Bruceville and Laguna. Although this is at a pretty nondescript location, that can be challenging to find, if you've never been here before. Although the staff is very nice, they are super slow!! They have no sense of urgency. I waited in line for about 30minutes to pick up one item that couldn't get delivered to my house. Weird location, super isolated and the food is right by the parking lot side so it's like a secret door on the side you gotta go through to get inside the post office, our mail was stolen recently and we were informed all our mail will be held at this post office until they've fixed the mail boxes at our apts. The lady whom assisted me stated "mail man was able to close the mail boxes and didn't see anything wrong with it Sat JUne 15th, but someone reported next day they were opened" so I'm like wow... so all our mail was stolen? Not a regular post office! I came here looking to buy postage for an oversized greeting card. This is a prepaid mail drop off and pick up station. I could not mail my card, but the lady behind the counter was very pleasant and gave me the location of nearest full service post office, the one on Bruceville Road. I came in do to a change of address and straighten out our mail which was being forwarded wrong. My husband had been to multiple offices and still couldn't get it straightened out. I came in thinking same would happen to me. But to my surprise Manjeet took care of my needs and explained everything that needed to be done. She had me do it right there and then so she could make sure it would be taken care of. She Didn't just send me away as others have. She is awesome! Thank you Manjeet!! Only reason I don't give 5 stars is because it's a bit hard and confusing to find our way into the building. read more

Awful! You can never get ahold of anyone at this location. I called multiple times, on different days, attempting multiple numbers...it just rings. I have been out of town and left my mailbox key for family to retrieve my mail. The neighborhood mailbox was broken into, therefore had to be replaced (including the keys). No one has been able to get my mail. Packages aren't being delivered to my door. I've been trying to call this post office annex to ask them to hold everything until I'm back in town this week...haven't been able to get ahold of a single person. read more

Good morning, I came across something interesting about our post office on (Longleaf Dr.)and thought the citizens of EG might want to know about. I went to Orchard to get a copy made of my mailbox key since I only have 1 left. They could not copy do to security reasons, ok I understand. Then went to the Longleaf Dr. post office and was told they would not make a copy and I had to purchase a new lock and 3 keys for $50. I had proof of my residence on both utility bills and driver's license, and they still would not give me a copy. I understand the security issues but I think it is a rip-off to have to spend $50 for a $2 key. read more

This Post Office is horrible. I've never in life received such horrible service. For starters anytime my packages come through USPS they seem to never come to my home address. Every time it's held at this office. I tried calling their phone line and was told by the automated response the wait time would be 30-50 minutes. I waited on the phone for 30 minutes only for them to never answer the phone. I called again and waited another 30 minutes with still no answer. Did I mention it's a hassle to get pass the automated voice response just to get connected to speaking with a live person (which I never spoke with one out of all of my experiences of calling this Post Office). I check their hours online and see they open up at 9am I get to the post office at 9:15am only to find out they do not open up until 10am! Update your hours please! This is such an inconvenience! This post office is horrible and needs to be shut down! Not to mention the long lines inside with only one person working. They couldn't find my package and I was told they sent it back to the company I purchased it from. I asked if they could please check again which they person had an attitude because there were others in line and she felt she helped me enough and gave me enough information. She checked again and guess what she found my package!! Please upgrade your services! Please learn to answer the phone! I was happy I never had to deal with this specific USPS again until another one of my packages came through USPS. Any other packages I receive (UPS, FedEx, DHL) they all come on time and are delivered to my direct address. I'd rate this 0 stars if I was able to. read more
