I have high anxiety and when she gave me the certfied slip to fill out, she also noticed how hard of a time i was having writing the addresses. My hands shake when I'm anxious and the documents I was sending out are for a court case that makes me especially anxious. She went to her manager to see if she could come out and help me. She came out with scissors and tape and took over. An actual saint. At a time when people in general seem to be ditching the effort to perform human kindness. I just got back to work, so still anxious, but being able to give this awesome person a solid shotout to thank her for making my day is helping overcome this round of anxiety. So if you end up at her register, DO NOT BE AN INCONSIDERATE JERK! You never know what someone else is going through. And it could likely be worse than whatever you are. read more

What can be said about a US Post Office beyond it a utilitarian dingy government building staffed by people who genuinely seem to be very unhappy. What the Irvine post office does have going for it is ample parking and landscaping that is at least maintained. It is Irvine after all so I would imagine that if the government doesn't maintain it the city does. The interior is typical of any other post office filled with PO Boxes, postage machines and supplies. It's a little dirty, a little rough and very out of date. Despite all that they handle their business well. I've visited at all hours of the day or night and no matter the time I'm able to accomplish what I need to do. read more

I think it's insane that this location has 2 stars because my visits are always pleasant. Today I had the opportunity to spend at least 30 minutes and truly understand most customers who come here are ridiculously impatient and fussy. I visited today after making an online appointment for my passport. Very important to make an appointment. Shout out to the service rep Kristen who was so helpful and polite. She organized my pictures and fees and I was done. At the time of my visit (10am in the morning) they had 2 floor assistants pointing people in the right direction and enforcing social distancing. The stories we hear about the US postal service are true. Imagine what it's like working for a great institution being kicked around and defunded. These workers deserve an award for the current work conditions as well as tolerating the general lack of respect from the public. I highly recommend visiting this location. read more

I come to this post office almost every day to drop off packages. Since I usually have more than one package/ parcel, I by pass the lobby and drop off on the side. They conveniently have a bulk parcel drop off. The entrance is one drive way before their parking lot, where the trucks load and off load. When I drop off, most days I see Jim working hard, his work ethic prompt me to write this review. Jim is always busting butt, helping people that are dropping off packages get them in the right cage at a quick pace. Jim makes dropping off packages easy. As far as the lobby service, I rarely go in, if I need to buy postage or a label, I use their self service kiosk. If you're in a rush, I suggest using this kiosk, otherwise you'll be in line for a while as this is a pretty busy post office. read more

Lazy lazy lazy drivers. Multiple times have I gotten an update on my package not being delivered due to "no authorized recipient" when "attempted to be delivered at __ time." Funny because I would be home all day WAITING for it to be delivered to sign for it! The notice would be in my mailbox and not at my door either, so did they want me to sit in the mailroom waiting for them or something? Sounds more like they didn't even bother trying to deliver it and just left a note in the mailbox in the mailroom. read more

Great service. Very knowledgeable Post Office rep. So sorry that I didn't get her name. I needed to mail a fire extinguisher. My own post office said that they could not mail it. UPS couldn't mail it without certain information - which I couldn't get because I couldn't get a callback from the company that I purchased it from: Prepared Hero. The rep pulled out the information sheet on what can and can not be mailed. Showed that the extinguisher I had could be mailed. Explained why the extinguisher that I purchased could be mailed to me in the first place. I am very happy with this post office, and would definitely go to the game. I've been here twice recently to pick up 2 different packages. Both times I came right when they opened when about 10-15 people are already waiting. Overall I can understand why previous reviews go as low as 1-2 stars because average wait times can be anywhere from 15-45min depending on how busy it is. There is also one worker who does not provide the most pleasant experience without naming any names. However, I will disagree and say most of the time they are fully staffed 3 out of 4 of the stations are always working. In fact the manager lady is actually one of the best workers they got she sometimes handles both shipping and pick up lines! So from an efficiency standpoint I think they are trying their best so be prepared to set aside 15-45min if you decide to go to this location. *Tip: If you are picking up a package make sure to enter to your immediate RIGHT from the sliding door entrance! You should see a Dutch door with signs saying pickup as well as a door bell. They do not make this obvious and if you line up in the wrong line you will have to go to the end of the pick up line. HORRIBLE! Failed to deliver 3 packages from 3 different orders. Claims filed for the first 2 and no resolution. They claim the 3rd package was returned due to insufficient address, but I have a photo from the sender, and I call BS. Filing a complaint and asked to speak with a supervisor. Where do the stupidest human beings on the planet reside? Right here in this post office. They seriously must hire only mentally challenged people to work here; it's the only explanation of how moronic they think and act. I've had numerous issues with them having to do with lost packages and wrong deliveries. But this takes the cake... I received a notice in my mailbox for a package pick up that required a signature at this post office. I arrived to find a very long line and only two people at the customer service windows.When I finally got to the counter I handed over my slip to pick up the package. The woman vanished. for 45 minutes. Seriously. 45 minutes. No one came to tell me what was going on. I tried to ask someone at the counter and before I could get two words out they ordered me to get back in line! Finally another woman came out and told me they would have to call me. WTF!!!!???? Thanks for wasting nearly an hour of my time. I sure had fun driving here and waiting for nothing. No one ever called. Ever. I could reach no one on the phone - they don't answer. And I sure as hell won't go back. I have no clue what that package was; it was never delivered and I never heard from them again. read more

This is definitely one of my favorite post offices to go to!! I come here to mail out letters/packages to my relatives and friends in other states with the flat rate boxes. I have also bought stamps here, preparing for my cousin's wedding. All of my experiences here have been positive!! The staff here is really efficient and quick. I go around 4:15, right after work, just like most people would. It would be unreasonable to expect them not to have a line when everyone comes in at those peak hours. Even if there is a long line, there is usually a person who helps you get your stuff together before you reach the counter, so when you get there, you just pay and leave!! One time, the person even suggested a different envelop for me to use to save money!! Yay :D No complaints here!! They even have their lobby open 24/7 so you can come and mail stuff out yourself after hours!! But I personally don't use this service, it's too complicated... I can see how this would be useful for businesses and those who work past their normal hours. Definitely coming back!! read more

I don't typically get this specific but there is a middle aged postal worker here named Trinh who seems like at some point she just decided the way to get through her day was to make a cartoonishly annoyed face at people and pretend not to hear anything they say. Then when they repeat themselves several times, to yell at them that she doesn't know the answer (to questions as simple as "can I sign this and have them redeliver tomorrow"). Picture the face you would make when you walk into a bathroom stall and someone hasn't flushed the toilet. That's the face Trinh gave me after I walked up, smiled at her, greeted her and began opening my mouth to speak. It was like I was the unflushed toilet. (To be fair, I then went to the pickup window and a nice capable young woman named Linh answered my question right away.) I am relatively certain this letter requiring my signature is for work. In fact it might even be important. But I would literally rather forget this letter ever existed, have it be crazy important and then somehow lose my job than to ever see that face Trinh made at me again and hear her voice going "hnh??" I know that therapy sessions are partly covered by my insurance; I think I pay $30 out of pocket for each one. My best guess is that it will take at least $3000 worth of therapy sessions to make me forget the face Trinh was making at me today. But you know what? It might just be worth it. Post offices are not typically considered fun places. But I would argue that it is totally reasonable to expect them to be pleasant places. Especially if you make a big effort to start your interactions off pleasantly yourself. Sadly, even if you do that here, you might still never be treated as anything more than an unflushed toilet. Would give zero star if possible. Lobby supposes to open till 7pm on weekdays, i drove 15 mins here to arrive at 6:55pm and the door was already locked and this happened to me more than once. The staff who work at this USPS must be superior humans. I dislike going to the post office as much as the next person (The hassle! The uncertainty about shipping options and their respective costs! The ever-present long lines!). But every time I go to this office, I am impressed by the diligence, efficiency, and graciousness of the staff. During the 20min I was there, I saw the staff working quickly to help a long line of people with a myriad of different tasks, often proactively helping people figure out what is the best/most economical shipping option. I also witnessed them handle interactions with a horrifyingly rude customer with courtesy. I don't know how they manage to keep up such a good-nature and hard-working attitude. The most horrible USPS station I have ever seen. They have the rudest postal workers at this post office. I don't know who manages this place but s/he is either very incompetent or extremely afraid of training or disciplining these useless employees. I have a mail box here and they continuously lose my mail. They have lost a passport even though they have a photo that it was received at their station but somehow it didn't make to my box. I had to fork out another $200 to get a replacement. Last week they have lost a new credit card plus 3 other pieces of mail. How do I know? Because they send me photos of all the mail to be delivered to my box. After almost 20 years, it's time to get a box elsewhere. Shame on USPS and their management. How is a government ran building requiring face masks for customers but NOT their employees? One of the employees today was not wearing any face coverings and was extremely blunt to a customer who was asking for help. The employee that helped me wouldn't even look at my package. I understand that they are not handing or touching packages right now but all I wanted was for her to look at it (not touch) because I had no idea if the label was correct or properly packaged and I simply wanted to make sure I did my part to ensure everything was correct. She would not help me at all or look at my package (after waiting in line) and gave me little to no help on what I was even suppose to do with it. Now I fear my package will never arrive to where it's suppose to go (out of the country) and there's ZERO way to tell. Absolutely terrible experience and I will avoid USPS for all of my shipping needs. read more

In the past year I have lost probably $5K due to damage and loss from USPS. Once they literally hand-delivered an empty, trashed box while I waited near the mailboxes; should've been some iota of acknowledgement of the condition of the box be handed me. This office is always short staff and takes forever to do anything. I needed to apply my daughter's passport and checked USPS website. It says walk in appointment only. So we came in with all documents ready. There were 2 groups waiting already before us in the list. While we were waiting another group came and said they have appointment. I was like ??? I even called in to ask about passport service but nobody answered. Now I asked a woman at the window about the appointment and she brought a binder to write down the name for appointment. Who knows about that?!?! Then it says the passport service is 10:00 - 2:00 on weekdays. Seriously?? My daughter needs to leave school earlier for this? And the website says it's until 4pm. One time the clerk at the window just walked away because I had a second transaction. I've had numerous packages returned to me due to insufficient postage, even though I have a commercial account with reduced rates. The current staff members at the front are much better than before and as long as just shipping out your regular package, you'll be fine - just the wait that could be long depending on the season and the time of the day. Holiday season could be a nightmare. They definitely need to increase staffing and have better systems. All staff are occupied at the counter and in the back and no one can come at the pick-up window. The bell is there but no point when no one ever responds. I just witnessed 30+ mins no one showed up to help the pick-uppers. Nightmare for us customers but also for staff, I don't even know how they survive during the holiday season. If I can give 0 star I would. Had an awful experience with clerk 03. She didn't greet me when I approached the counter and didn't even asked me how she can help. Tell me to look at the screen instead of read the Hazmat question, where she suppose to. When I asked which service I can have prepaid returned tracking with signature, she told me you can't？I had to ask what about express mail? She didn't say anything or bother to offer or explain the services Best for me situation. After I put everything together, she again didn't offer me express mail or even stamps. Young has always been helpful with my mail order returns and is also the fastest employee there. I feel so bad seeing her being the one that has to carry the work and get the lines moving. That being said.... Yesterday I came to the post office they closed earlier than what is posted for their hours, I came back today and mind you I get off work at 4-4:30 and barely have time to make it. The line was extremely long and out the door and when I made it to the front there was a male that I have seen every time I go to this postal office that looks so dissatisfied with what he does for us job and I observed he waives people to come up and go in quite a disrespectful manner with his hands and have such an irritated facial expression like he couldn't be bothered. I had a heavy package I needed assistance to tape and scan the prepaid label I had to print. He refused to because it was the original packaging my order came in and not a priority mail bag even though I've done this numerous times with no problem. I told him Young has always helped me on this, and has helped me tape my packages. He dismissed me away and wouldn't give me the label I PAID FOR! I told this to young and was then advised to me this is company policy which I'll now be aware of but the way the male was very dismissive and rude while young was more polite, at least a customer left behind a roll of tape and she let me use it. I went here twice after hours to use the 24-hour self-service kiosk, only to find that the outer building doors were locked which meant that I was unable to access the kiosk entirely. I attempted to use it on the morning of 1/1/22 and tried again on the night of 1/4/22 and in both cases the doors were very much locked. Frustrated at that point, I drove to other nearby USPS locations with "24-hour" self service kiosks in the lobbies and found that the location on Sand Canyon had its doors similarly locked after hours, but the location at 3101 W Sunflower Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92799 was open and available to use. So, in short, if you need to use a "24-hour" self service kiosk after hours, don't come here! Go to the Santa Ana location on Sunflower Ave instead. read more
