On Saturday I came into this location to send out my documents for a passport change as I recently got married. I was greeted by a filipino man who assisted me and I announced I was filipino too. He then asked what my husband's ethnicity was and I corrected him by saying her ethnicity is this, this, and this. He then said, "ooo she, she's a woman..." I said yes she's a woman. He then said well the guy can have two babies. He can have you and your friend." I proceeded to fake laugh it off until he was done with my transaction. At the end I told him "here is a tip. What you said with the guy and having me and my friend.. do not say that to gay people. That is not my friend, that is my wife. I am here for a name change because I got married." He then said, "you know straight guys, it was just a joke." I said again "this is my wife not my friend." I started walking away and he said "no pun intended, it was just a joke." I was expecting better. This is Long beach, which has a large lgbtq community. A genuine apology and acknowledging that it was a bad joke could have made things better. Stellar service from Arlin over there today! Only 2 people were at the counter, and the line stretched to the door eventually. However, she was very patient and conscientious--including with customers ahead of us. Apparently, they were short-staffed, and working overtime. Not a PEEP of complaining out of her, however--and she would *NOT* let me leave or move forward until she verified that I had the correct address for my critical state taxes -- even waiting for me to Google it on my phone (apparently, I had left out a digit.) The employees here clearly dislike their jobs at this location. Older ( white ) gentlemen with a beard clearly raised his brow and gave tude towards me because I accidently forgot to write the street address on the envelope. ( was just a 2 second brain freeze on my part ) he than was annoyed that he had to write the address number for me. And annoyed that HE had to ask the typical repeated protocol questions of " what's in the box?, any explosives, blah blah blah " . It was only ten minutes after they opened. Yikes. read more

Experienced the absolute worst customer service i've ever had here. Yes they are short staffed, however, that was not the problem. The problem was in reaching out for help the staff here had no consideration for their customer's feelings/frustrations. When I asked the clerk if they cared about customer service he replied, "Idk ma'am, i'm a robot." Absolutely rude and extemely disappointed. This post office is nestled between Big Lots! and Trader Joe's in a much bigger strip mall. The location is great for anyone who has to pick up groceries or go to the bank in the same day. Also it is quite close to CSULB so you can stop by before or after class. The staff inside are friendly (actually friendly!) and are willing to help you send a package or letter if you aren't sure of how. I couldn't remember the zip code of where I wanted to send my letter so they looked it up for me without issue. Just make sure to have the city name right and they can do that for you. All in all my letter was around $1.49. Not too shabby. Bottom Line: If you have a bunch of errands to run and need to send some post this is a great location to do it. Just be aware that the office does close around 6:00 PM during the week. read more

Wouldn't recommend this location to anyone, unless you have 30 minutes to spare and be rudely spoken to. There was only one associate working with a line of more than 15 people. Not only was there a line long but the associate was rude, sarcastic, and seemed miserable working there. I just left this facility maybe 30 minutes ago and I received such exceptional service that I wanted to thank the person who helped me. I went to this facility in a slight panic because I lost my tracking number and I desperately needed it. He worked with me and helped me find it despite a growing line, don't worry, there were two other workers. I left in such a rush that I didn't get his name. I called the facility multiple times, no answer. So I hope this post reaches him or someone in upper management so he could get recognized for his exceptional service. He was patient, professional, welcoming and resourceful. He assisted me 1/6/18 at approximately 1140 to 1205, a Latino male with short black curly hair. I don't really leave reviews usually but just wanted to say, Jason and Arlene are the best. Today needed to ship something to my pops in Colorado, and it was bulky. Arlene handed me the box, let me borrow a pen, and was so friendly. Jason then took me after I had packed it (or tried to) muscled the box closed for me, and helped me with the right shipping. He was so friendly, so helpful, and just overall had impeccable service. We are incredibly lucky to have them at our USPS store. Thank you both! read more

I had a bad experience here with a very rude employee. I was asking about the different types of tracking for a letter, and she was very unwilling to help. All of a sudden the manager came out and she turned into a completely different person, very nice and helpful. Plus, she guaranteed delivery for one day and that didn't happen. This post office has consistently sucked for the 3 years I've lived in Long Beach, which is a shame, because the location is great. Tonight's interaction solidified that I'll never be back. I was told by the USPS help center in Washington that my packages from Amazon (7 days late) were being held at this location for me to pick up. Great! It's on my way home. I walk in at 4:45 and I'm second in line. The older African American lady that someone already mentioned below (her name is Zsa Zsa) finishes with her customer, leans on the counter, and glares at me.....an invitation to approach? So, as instructed by the help center, I'm armed with my ID, 2 case numbers, and an order number. I tell Zsa Zsa my spiel about how they sent me here to pick up my packages and without lifting a finger she snarls, "they're not here." Kacie: "Um...could you possibly check for me? " Zsa zsa: "Are they going to a house or P.O. Box?" K: ".....Neither. The delivery was rescheduled, then cancelled, and I was told I should pick them up here." Z: "You're in the wrong place. Go to the one by K-mart." K: ".......is this 2234 N Bellflower?" Z: "Yes." K: "This is the address I was given." (She still hasn't moved at this point) "Could you maybe go check in the back?" Z: (snarling again) "THEY'RE NOT HERE. WHAT'S YOUR ADDRESS? I'M GETTING MY SUPERVISOR." (Supervisor comes out) Supervisor: 'DID YOU CALL 495-1208????!" K: 'What? No, I called Amazon customer services, who called the USPS help center in Washington, who gave me a case number and told me to present it and my ID at THIS address to pick up my packages. I have been at this for 7 days now, and I would really appreciate if you could just check for my packages in the back." S: "THEY'RE NOT HERE. *shoves a piece of paper at me* CALL THIS NUMBER." So I take the stupid paper and leave them behind the counter, snickering and chatting about how "omg, they're giving that girl the run around.....no packages here......" Blah f*cking blah. The people working at the counter here are always helpful, but this post office has other problems. The lobby is supposed to be open at 6:30 a.m. weekdays, but sometimes -- for no obvious reason -- it just isn't. As I write this, the door has been locked at 7:45 a.m five weekdays in the past month, including the last three days in a row. When I called to ask why, the woman who answered told me that if the custodian doesn't show up, no one unlocks the door. Really? If one person takes the day off, you have no alternative plan? She told me to call "Rose" at another number. That number was busy the first three times I called, and when I finally got through on the fourth call, I was told that Rose was off for four days. Sigh. I rarely rarely go to the post office. Why? I think we all know why...the long lines. Is it the post offices fault? No. It's my fault for waking up late, taking my sweet ass time getting ready...Yup I can only blame myself. Rude workers. I don't know the woman's name but the man with a ponytail is extremely rude with the NASTIEST attitude. Usually I don't pay any attention to it but today he was on another of level of rude and condescending. He does the bare minimum anyway so he shouldn't be sighing to be a decent person to customers who are being respectful. He works at a post office but asked why I was holding an envelope with stamps and was extremely unhelpful when we asked for help. "I don't know" doesn't help us. As noted- THERE ARE THREE SELF SERVE STATIONS my local branch has ZERO There's is no bullet proof glass ( again, my local is totally racked in) There's a/c (not at mine) There are NO LINES. I've been here 5 times in the 6 weeks since moving here- no lines. Come over to my hood and hang w me and my local crew, there's usually at least 10 of us. Friendly, helpful, efficient staff. Have you ever spent 30 minutes at a post office? $^!T... I have. I come here from time to time and sometimes I come in and leave and, sometimes I feel like I have the worst experience ever compared to waiting at the DMV. Sometimes they have someone trying to expedite the line by asking what you need to do (like taking order at the the in and out drive thru), but sometimes the lady can mean more harm than good. One time I was waiting in line for 15 minutes and the lady pulled me out of line to use the automated machine which had took longer because some guy literally cock blocked me to mail out two 34 cent pieces of mail which took him 10 mintues to figure out and while waiting I see the people that were behind me leaving the post office while I wait for this bozo to put a stamp on his bill. This place is in direct contrast to my main Gardena post office on Redondo Beach Blvd., that services my business area. Is it the best post office in America? No. Is there such a thing? ...No. BUT - as long as you know what you're doing, things go smoothly here. I mail letters from home, but when I have to mail packages that are too big for the APM (Automated Postal Machine - not kidding) I come here. Make sure your package is boxed up, addresses clearly visible, and you know what service(s) with any extras you want. Otherwise, things get ugly. Service is prompt and people are nice. I wish it was bigger (they only have three windows and most of the times there are only two workers). The parking lot is a nightmare. Small and tight spaces, and massive traffic. It is to be expected, I suppose, from a strip mall parking lot. It's also the homeless asking for your change, people trying to get your signatures, and the kids who are trying to sell you candybars and magazine subscriptions. I'm old and I am not to be bothered. In a hurry and don't want to drive out to Seal Beach station on Westminster at Seal Beach Blvd? This place will do. Want a better experience? Seal Beach is the place. read more

It's government-run. Need I say more? This post office, as with most post offices, is absolutely horrid. It's dirty and always, ALWAYS, busy. There are usually plenty of employees there, but for some reason only 1 or 2 are actually working the counters, even when there are lines out the door. I try to avoid standing in line by using their automated service, but sometimes it's unavoidable. The employees seem completely disinterested and fed up with their jobs, as I would be if I worked for this post office. I really do think they screw up something in the shipping process, too, b/c I've never had so many issues with packages not arriving at their destinations as I have sending them through this particular branch. Unless you come in on a Wednesday at 11am, prepare to stand in line for at least 30-45 minutes on Saturdays. read more

Again, i will say that its kinda hard to review a post office, because its a given that post offices general suck. This one is worse than usual, though. Dont get me all wrong, It has its perks . . . separate counter for stamps only and conveniently located in a shopping center with other cool stores, however those both contribute to its downfalls as well. The stamp only line is always long and having two long lines in a 15 foot wide shotgun space makes it feel REALLY cramped and crowded. And the parking frustration is compounded by all the trader joes, big lots, and rite aid shoppers. Also, am i the only one who notices something is up with the front door at this place?? Its like super heavy and SLAMS shut. I saw an old lady almost get taken out by that door. she would have been knocked down if i hadn't ran up and grabbed the door! Overall rating: It gets a one star handicap for being a post office, a half star for the stamp only counter and a half star for being conveniently located. read more

Mail carrier is lazy, has been on his cell phone every single time I've ever seen him deliver mail (which is every day since March 2020), and he very rarely takes outgoing mail (I think he's taken it 2 or 3 times in the past 2 years). He doesn't even wear a uniform all the time! read more

PHIL waited on me, and was kind and helpful and so laid back. He helped me with my international package that I had no Idea what to do with. Remember, the post office is the post office...but I'm not going to lie, I'm a regular at this one and have been for 3+ years now! Pros: +Three (3!) self-serve machines = you don't need to wait in line to send out a simple domestic letter or package. For those of you who need to wait in line for additional assistance = less people in line. It's a win win! +The employees are friendly and helpful +The location makes it extremely convenient if you need to stop at the grocery store, bank, etc. Cons: -I wish they were open a little later during the week...or they can at least leave the drop off area where one of the self-serve machines is open like other post offices do (ie the post office in my hometown, but I think I'm just being selfish now lol) But seriously, much thanks from a small business owner! read more
