If I could give them 0 stars I would. I shipped a box of christmas gifts for my family in Dec 2020. Because of lack of staff due to covid, my package was held up at the San francisco post office as it was shipped from a U.S. base in Germany. My packet was never sent from San Francisco to its final destination in San Diego and I can not get a refund because the package isnt considered lost. It Is now the end of july and my package is still sitting somewhere at the post office and my questions were never addressed, instead I received a generated message which was no help. Ultimately, my family never received their Christmas gifts and I was not refunded for anything. We also sent a package to family on a separate occasion and the post office delivered it to the wrong box. Not sure how they got that wrong but they did. Our family's stuff was never recovered and my husband was not reimbursed. P.S. someone make a tik tok and boycott the usps. This is not the first time they lose peoples stuff. They have 1 job and they have a hard enough time doing that. Hire some people with integrity. read more

This staff consistently provides good, courteous, and thoughtful service. They have done for over 14 years. The retail area and service windows are often busy given the location. All staff work as efficiently as possible. Certain processes are automated and beyond their control, so show patience. Most impatient customers can save themselves aggravation by looking up policies and rates before they arrive at the station. Alternately, patronise them in thier first hour open. read more

They saved me. This is the only post office (or so it seems) to be opened until 5:30pm in West LA. I drove in my car through awful traffic from Westwood, and found great parking in front. There are tons of 15 minute meter zones, perfect for the post office. I entered the building at 5:27pm. The door was still opened. I literally made my purchase at 5:30:04 pm, with even one more customer behind me. The service was prompt. They were polite. They led me out of the buildling. So thankful. read more

When I first walked in from the back entrance it felt like it used to be a jail. But when me and my friend came so he could ship something out he got 2 boxes mixed up and employee Woodard was kind enough to help him fix the problem, although not with the kindest attitude I've ever seen, but what can you really expect from a government run facility, I guess. read more

I dont usually write reviews for post offices, but this one has saved my butt on multiple occasions. Pro's: 1. On a very convenient stretch off Santa Monica Blvd near Sawtelle where a lot of people dwell. I used to scoot my scooter there when I needed to get there fast! 2. The place is usually not too crowded (major perk, and I hope I'm not giving away a secret) compared to other post offices. 3. Library, Farmers Mkt (Sundays), and cool shops/restaurants real close by on Santa Monica Blvd and Sawtelle. Cons: 1. A little beat down, but not something I care too much about.. as long as they get the job done 2. Parking is a little crowded due to its location, but for many people it is walking/biking distance. read more

This is my usual post office to go,at least once a week.Yes,I can agree,the ladies there seems like they hate their lifes and teying to work as less as possible.Angie,the asian lady is always doing a good job,but the rest...need some upgrade. Yesterday I bought a prepaid label for one of my packages,but when I went to the window,the lady told me,it s not a good one,remove it and pay for the whole thing again and go online to ask for a refund.(it was 8$ and I should pay 11$,why don t you just ask for the difference?)Also when I showed my prepaid packages,which ones just need a receipt,she told me to go to the machine instead just handing it to her... I've been a long time customer of this location, as it's near where I live. I had a bad experience here years ago of a postal clerk throwing a package at me. I haven't seen that person in a long time, so I'm assuming that she has retired. I really only come in here to buy stamps. Most of the clerks are pleasant enough. I noticed that they're trying to keep this location cleaner than it use to be. Fortunately, I've never had to stand in line very often, as I try to get there early in the day. I think that location isn't as busy as the Exposition location, so it doesn't take too long to get in & out. All in all, a good enough experience for going to a Post Office. :):) read more

My mom paid $21 to ship via priority mail a very special and beautiful handmade cake to my friend. 3 and a half days later from Florida to Washington, it arrived. Completely destroyed. The box was mangled beyond belief. HOW in the world is this acceptable in any way???? The people who handled the package should be fired. My mom already spent $100 to create the cake and an additional $21 to ship it and it's so sad there wasn't a better option. She has shipped 2 cakes prior to this on and the boxes were damaged and dented up both times before but not as bad as this time. read more

I just left a long review about how unpleasant my experience was with a woman named ROSS. They are obviously deleting the reviews that are honest and not to their liking. If you're not liking the responses you're getting USPS, change your customer service, not the reviews that customers are leaving for other people on YELP. I will be copying and pasting this one so feel free to delete. I promise I will repost as often as i need to ; ) Now ladies and gents from the top: The moment I stepped into this USPS location was a complete and absolute NIGHTMARE!!!! The staff here obviously hate their lives and take it out on the customers. Upon opening the doors a woman to my left instantly starts barking orders at me, yet she doesn't even know what I'm there for. I proceed to the line to be helped as the first woman continues to yell at me from across the store like I'm going to yell back over other customers conversations. Very rude. Finally I walk up to the counter and before I even say a word the woman looks at me and exclaims with the most condescending and rude attitude, What do you want?! First of all, let's get this straight, you are a business and want MY MONEY. Second of all, why so much attitude when I haven't even said anything?! So I attempt explain to her that I had a preprinted label that I brought and just needed to put on the box, and before I could finish she cuts me off, rolls her eyes, and says that she's gonna charge me for the tape. She continues to tell me that they are not a packing company. "Cash Only!" she yells. I reluctantly pull the cash from my wallet and set it on the counter and then she yells, "WHY YOU GOTTA THROW IT AT ME?!" Ok wait a second, I did not throw anything at you. Im thinking to myself you know she's pocketing this cash 100%. Now she cranks the attitude to a 10 and OMFG. I sit there silently taping the box, with the tape I just paid for as she continues to berate me and say very rude things to me. Then after charging me for the tape tells me that I've used too much tape. Are you kidding me?? The whole time she's rolling her eyes and making very rude gestures. I mean this is wayyy worse than the DMV! Finally I'm done taping my box, Ross barks at me to put it through the other window and into a basket while the first woman is barking at me to leave it on the counter. I got out of there as fast as I could which ended up being about 10 minutes. Before leaving I asked the woman what her name was and she wouldn't tell me like she wasn't wearing a name tag. Lol Thanks ROSS! I left there with the worst feeling inside and I have some serious doubts that my package will even get sent after dealing with all that. Im crossing my fingers that it makes it. So people if you are looking for a USPS go to the one in BRENTWOOD. They are polite and have manners. Honestly go to any one but this one. Even if you have to drive a little further to another location do it because it will be a much more pleasant experience, you won't be berated, and you will actually save time. What should take 30 seconds (taping a label on a box) ended up taking at least 10 minutes at this location. I will be telling all my family and friends to avoid USPS at all costs. I talked to a couple friends about it already and they all knew not to go here. They've had similar and even WORSE experiences somehow and I was the last to know but now YOU know. DO NOT GO HERE EVER!!! A word to USPS: It's no wonder you guys are going out of business. A few simple adjustments would do wonders to your business, like hiring some new staff that are trained to work with customers and have manners. If I could give negative ratings I would. The lack of integrity and ethics these people have is just unbelievable! Same issues over and over and nothing is being done. No change is being implemented. Their system is faulty and this is how people that work for this very place find it so easy to steal. I trust fedex and ups much better than USPS. No one, not a manager, not the clerk, NO ONE explains as to why it is okay for the employee to mark or scan (clearly lying) that they left in the mail box the items when clearly no one did. How!? Sent my sister a box with small items in it. I ensured to tape all ends where the box might open so the items would not slip. When the box got to my sister, the box was empty. She immediately sent me pictures of the box and it clearly showed it was tampered with. The box was not taped the same way I taped it prior to mailing it and the box also showed signs forceful opening. I will never send anything through USPS. Dont trust them, dont send anything through them, it's worth paying more through a private mailing system that mailing anything through USPS. read more

I spoke to my local post office on 8-28-2020 about a package I paid over 40$ to ship from Ohio to Tampa. As of posting package left Pittsburgh PO and still traveling. When I ask what was going on, I was told the package was marked "ground" and it could be up to 30 days. I asked why did they tell the package would be there by 8-24? They could only say there was nothing the could do. REALLY! If I knew this beforehand, I could have boarded a plane for 50$ and delivered it myself! Antoine, an employee at a window, was wearing a mask around his neck. When I approached his window, I asked him politely if he could please put on his mask because I am a high-risk individual, he laughed at me and said "no." He told me if I didn't have to come to his window if I didn't want to be around someone without a mask. I suffer from an underlying condition, and while I wear my own mask, it is very important that others wear a mask around me as I am at very high risk of dying if I catch this virus. I am disgusted by this young man's rude behavior and callous disregard for the life of USPS customers. read more

I ordered and paid for 2 rolls of stamps online. Only one roll arrived in the package. I wrote them on their website. They responded that they're out of my item (roll of stamps?) so please cancel the order. The order showed delivery so it's no longer on the webpage. Obviously, they did not read my email. I wrote back and repeated my claim. I have yet to hear from them. If it's a mistake, fine. But if they don't have inventory control, employees could commit fraud and no one would be the wiser. read more

Unfair to review this at XMAS time? Naaw, the issues I have here are seasonal and non-denominational. Though nicely located, parking can be a little painful and/or confusing. Then there's street parking... OK, you enter from the back -- as long as you aren't confused by the sign there that says EMPLOYEES ONLY. That's more to do with the parking-lot portion you are not supposed to use. Still there? OK! Inside, it was not horrible. I did not work with the clerks much (other that to ask if taping the big envelopes again was recommended. And, truly, I really am not sure of her answer...) By using the Self-Serve Kiosk, of course, I was able to bypass the line. However, and here's my main bone of contention -- they have one, not two of these little darlings, so there was a bit of queue at the Kiosk. It did move fairly quickly, but a second one would be appreciated. !! You might feel a little rushed with the crowd forming around you as you individually mail off your five big envelopes round the country. OK, maybe you might not -- but I did! Clearer parking situation; another Kiosk for Self-Serve, and this USPS would jump at least a star. read more

This is the most terrible service I've ever gotten from the post office. Especially since my package arrived opened! An item in my package was missing and it was clearly taken out. Absolutely the worst of the worst. I am in an office building in the 90025. There is no mail delivery at least one day per week and when mail does come, it always comes after 5:30 pm. The post office manages to lose at least 20% of the mail sent through it. I have never seen service this bad. read more

We live in the Century Glen area. Today, two packages were dropped off at 5:40pm and the carriers left our outgoing mail. I found them on the street and their response was that they were not here to pick up mail - just drop off. They basically said I had to keep it until tomorrow and that no mail in the area was picked up. I convinced them to take it. They said it would still not go out today. This is the closest post office to me, so I come here often. I sometimes walk over, because if you get here at peak hours the parking lot is full and even a meter is hard to score. I usually am either dropping off a package or using the self-serve postage kiosk instead of waiting in line. But when I do need to talk to a postal worker, sometimes I get super friendly service - and other times (like during the busy holidays) I get an eyebrow raise or dismissing tone. These differing behaviors can be from the same exact people too - so it's not like I can watch out for the crankies! I guess it gets pretty stressful here around the holidays. Overall it's close, relatively fast, and convenient - but thank GOD for USPS.com - print your postage online instead of waiting for window service, people! read more

I have had to trek out here totally last minute, looking like I'm still too scared from watching "Psycho" to shower or that I'm unfamiliar with the concept of soap (ho boy, hope that visual didn't turn you off your dinner.) And every single time I go I've had to wait in line forever, but it's always the same long wait. Just long enough to really frustrate you, but not long enough for you to get other work done while you wait. It's amazing, they've got it down to a science. Anyway, when you finally get to the window, the mailpeople are usually just as tired as you are, but they put up a valiant fight. They can't be friendly all the time, and I'm sure they have off days, but they're always good to me. Look for Eartha, she's a major sweetie. She always lets me kiss my applications before sending them off. And she let me paw through about 80 zillion different stamp designs today, so I basically love her forever. This review is for passport service only. They only accept phone calls on Mondays from 9:30am-10:30am and they only make appointments for passport applications/renewals for that week. So make sure to call only on Mondays at that time. I give it 2 stars because none of this information is online ANYWHERE - every place I've found had wrong or outdated information and no matter how many times I called, I could never ever get through for the reason I stated above. I just happened to get lucky. It seems like a really bad system and I wish they had said it online somewhere. However, once I finally got the passport renewed, the lady who helped me was very nice and helpful and it literally took me 5 minutes (after waiting in line for 15 minutes, of course). read more

The woman at the register curtly told me that the person who runs the service wasn't there. "Come back Wednesday at 10am." She told me to call - I said they don't pick up. Advertised on Government website as a location to drop off a passport application. Nope Upon arriving we were told we have to call for an appointment. You can't make an appointment there in person. They told us to give them a call in a couple of weeks and they will try to make an appointment for us...to hand them a passport application....???? We the manager when we call that no one ever picks up the phone to which she replied that she can't pick up the phone because she is walking the floor helping customers (...sending people away and telling them they have to call to make an appointment.) Damn these mail people. Why is it that each post office only has (at most) one to three employees working all the time ... even when it's busy? And if there are so few workers, why do they have so many vacant stations? What is the point of building so many stations if there are no warm bodies to fill 'em? Will the post office ever resort to filling up each and every work station? Will they ever hire more employees? Or are they all just hiding in the back, throwing TD's with our bubbled envelopes and peanut fillings? For some reason, no matter what hour I go to the post office, there is ALWAYS a line out the door and the employees ALWAYS seem to work at the speed of rush hour. So my entry boils down to this - I was being served by a mailwoman. A local postal celebrity walked in and all the employees yelled - "ALEX! Hi, Alex! Come up to the front! Why are you hiding back there Alex? Haaaaay Alex." Now who the F is this Alex character? And why did my mailwoman keep looking at him and saying "hiiii Alex" while she was serving ME?? Can she execute her work duties ANY slower? She wasn't even paying attn to where she was stamping the damn "first class mail" sign! This post office is conveniently located along my route to work every morning, so I come here often. Some positives: - A free parking lot (usually, there are available spots on weekday mornings) - An automated postal center, which I typically use for most uncomplicated purchases; - The line at the cashiers isn't so bad. Some negatives: - Surly staff (then again, USPS workers aren't typically known for their joviality); - Recently, on a normal business day, their entire parking lot was closed because (I later learned) they were refinishing the asphalt. That left me nowhere else to park. - Awkward exit into a one-way alley. No easy way to get back onto SaMo Blvd. - Hours of operation could be better. read more

I have been in need of some priority mail envelopes and after circling the supplies to no avail, I walk up to the counter to ask the lady for some. I've had hit or miss service here. If you want to get your packages mailed and you're not sure which form to use, you might encounter a problem getting any attention. If you want to renew your passport, they'll hand you the right forms, confirm the right amount for the app fee, and usher you to the front of the line so you don't have to wait a second time after you take your picture. Parking is scarce, but I've always managed to find one. Note, the lunch rush hour literally amasses around 12:15, so being there even 10 minutes before makes a huge difference. read more
