I love this post office. Everyone is always so nice here. The only negative is the lobby hours for accessing your PO Box.

This place doesn't stand a chance at successfully delivering packages. I don't know what it is, but there's just something wrong going on the back room of this post office. They lose things in their own building and manage to put them on the wrong truck more often than not. Get ready for a terrible line - No signage as far as where to stand and nobody out there directing people. The Post Office in Hollywood on Wilcox has it down (for a post office). There's always someone out there telling you where to go for what. This one is under-staffed and under-educated. read more

Worst Post Office I've ever dealt with. They lost a package that came in from overseas that was a custom handmade piece I needed for my business. The tracking shows it arrived there but was never attempted to be delivered. I've been dealing with them for the past 2 weeks and they promised that Vera, the supervisor would call me. I've been there about every other day for the last 2 weeks and still no call from Vera, the supervisor. She's not doing her job. Which in then, keeps my from doing mine. If you're in 90048, I suggest you get a PO Box at a different post office. Fuck this useless post office and their useless supervisors and that loud ass lady who ushers people through the line and acting like she is in charge of everything. Walked up to the pick-up desk where a women who was filling PO Box's said she would be right with me. She continued to put boxes away while I waited 7 minutes until she finished before going to grab my package. I am all about being patient, but I was confused as to why she was worried about finishing putting boxes in mailboxes instead of the line of people who were here in person waiting on her. In total it took 20 min to get my package. This women's attitude was out if line. read more

If I could give a zero I would. I went in today around 430pm and when I got to the window Allen refused to help me because he didn't want to (g*d forbid) have to stay maybe 5 minutes over his shift, to help me. I wouldn't even expect that as that would be extremely great customer service which this place very much lacks. He could have at least helped me until 5pm and I would have understood and come back the following day to mail out whatever packages were left. Aneisha refused me service as well meanwhile they assisted other customers. Horrible customer service. For those complaining about the lady who helps in the line, she is actually very sweet and does her job to make the line move faster. The people behind the counter are the lazy ones. I just had a shocking experience trying to renew our passports. The first time we went we were there for 40 minutes. The lady out front who is supposed to be helping people in line yelled at us multipe times for not doing things correctly. She treated us like we were idiots who had no idea how to fill out a passport form. This is the third time I have renewed passports. I've never had any issues before. Then after filling out all of the form she tells us that we have to stand in another line to get a money order and then get back in the main line. Then she tells us that we cannot renew our daughter's passport without an appointment. We can do ours, but not hers. She gets out the appointment book and the first available appointment is in a month. Someone else who was waiting in line saw what a hard time we were having and suggested that we go to passport express, where you pay extra but they take care of everything. He said it was a much easier process. I went home and called a couple other post offices to see if there was anywhere where I could get an appointment for getting our daughter a passport. They were all booked for the next month. Then we went to 24 Hour Passports and Visas. They told us they have standing appointments with the post office. So after typing up the form that I had already filled out we were sent to the same post office where now we didn't need an appointment becuase we had the red folder from the 24 hour passport place. So, basically to get an appointment to get our daughter a passport we had to pay $100 to an agency. But even with our folder from the 24 hour passport place the lady in the front still yelled at us. She told us to wait at window #5. She told us that the person we needed to see was at lunch and we would just have to be patient. We were told at the agency to wait at #1. We were also told that the lady we needed to see was just back from lunch. When we questioned her about that she lost it. She said she didn't have to deal with people like us. She was so rude and condescending and unhelpful. We were calmly asking simple questions about the process. I'm shocked that it's okay to treat people like this. Why does the manager Michael do nothing about this? This has been a terrible experience at our neighborhood post office. I will avoid going here at all costs. I'm also shocked that this is the only option for getting a US passport. We couldn't have done it without paying the extra $100 to the private agency. Why do you not need an appointment if you use the agency? Something is seriously not right here. read more

The worst post office ever!!! I booked an appointment in this location for my US passport application. When I arrived there they sent me back saying that the camera is not working. I made an appointment again and came back with all the requested documents and forms. This time they told me that the person who is processing the passport applications just took lunch and will be back in 40-50 minutes. When I asked why they are asking people to make an appointment and come back again if the post office employee is taking her/his lunch whenever getting hungry they said they don't have to explain to me anything. Another customer who was waiting for her booked passport appointment with 3 kids was sent back too. Completely ridiculous. I asked them to call the supervisor to explain or accept my application because I'm working and can't go back and make the 3rd appointment. The manager didn't come out from the back office for 42 minutes. I asked again why the manager is not coming out and they said " we don't understand why you need to see the manager?'" They refused to call the manager or maybe they called him/her but the manager won't be involved in that situation and decided to stay in his/her office. Unbelievable! How has this post office not been shut down? Just because it was not the first time of horrible experience in that location I called the USPS customer service and filed the case. They are feeling very secured just because they are government employees and will never get fired. Waiting for the response from the customer service supervisor. I will follow up with them in 2 business days. Horrible service. Rude, uneducated employees! I can't believe my taxes pay their salary and pension. read more

Our tax dollars at work. At 4:59 they wouldn't let me pick up a package. This is some of the poorest work ethic I've seen in my life. I'd expect this type of treatment from maybe a trashy bar in LA but coming from a federal organization it's outright saddening. This is what handouts and labor regulations get you. This place really needs help. They are short staffed and unorganized because of it. As experienced by other reviewers I had to pick up a package and had to wait at the lobby door with a window. There were several people who had already been waiting for over 45 minutes. I ended up waiting an hour. During that time we all repeatedly asked if there was someone who could help us. People banged on the door and became irate and the wait. There was on older woman postal employee who kept telling us 5 minutes they have to get the mail out. This only enraged people because it was over an hour. She seemed jaded and over it. Finally after an hour for me and an hour and 45 for others at 5pm when they close, did someone open the window door. He could have cared less. This is a funding problem, I am going to write to the Postmaster General and to my Congress people. They are short staffed due to budget cuts, the mail service has become horrible and the postal workers are overworked short staffed and are careless and jaded. The people at this post office hate their lives and take it out on their customers. I was mailing an important document and wanted to make sure I had all the proper postage in the right places before I put said document in an envelope and sealed it. I went to one of the tellers for help, only to be insulted. She mockingly asked if I knew how to put something in an envelope. When I explained my situation, she responded with "Did you go to college?" I said yes, and she said "Well, I didn't and I can do this." There's absolutely no reason for this woman to act this way. I'm sure that if I worked there and took the civil service exam, I'd know all the post office protocol. I would never do that if someone came into my place of business and asked me a question. I would've pressed the issue and asked to see her supervisor, but with the horrible service I've received from this place in the 5 years I've been in the neighborhood, my mail probably would've gotten "lost." The worst customer service I have ever experienced! A package was supposed to be delivered 2days ago. There was a notice left in my mailbox saying no authorized person at home which means I could go pick it up or have it redelivered. I went in today around 5:20pm, since on the notice it's said closed at 6. However, this place is completely locked. I was like, wait, what?! Why closed?! So I went to the back and asked the staff there whether I could pick it up since the notice said closing time was 6. All she said: you are not supposed to be here. You need to go. I don't care what's said on that notice, blah blah blah. Anyways, it's a really disappointing experience and she was one rude manager for what I can tell you. The hours they keep are not conducive to those who work a 9-5 job. By the time I get to the post office from work, they are closed. So I have to go on a Saturday, where it's crowded and the people who work there have an attitude problem. This location sucks. I really hate that this is my local post office. read more

Another update and another mail screw up. We went on vacation for two weeks and I electronically sent in a hold mail request-- I have the receipt from USPS.com to prove it. The geniuses from Bicentennial Station either don't get the hold request or ignore it-- we get mail the day we're leaving and I have to hold the cab so I can hand-write a letter with the hold confirmation number and tape it to my mail-box. I stick around all afternoon yesterday, the day my mail is to be redelivered-- it never shows up, this after I get a response from USPS telling me that Saturday was my last hold day and my mail will be brought to me and delivery will continue. I call USPS customer service today and file a complaint-- they tell me to expect a phone call and apology and that they'll likely send someone out specifically to redeliver my mail. I'm glad I'm not naive enough to believe this, as there's been no call and the the print-out of the USPS letter that I pasted in front of my box was pulled off and left atop it. Will I see my mail tomorrow? Who the hell knows anymore. What I do know is that I'm calling the Los Angeles District Office at 323-586-1250 and filing a formal complaint tomorrow. I suggest all of you who have had similar issues with Bicentennial do the same. read more

It must be a prerequisite to be a miserable person if you want to work at this USPS location. I arrived to pick up a package that wasn't we delivered to my apartment. I had called USPS earlier in the day and they informed me it would be waiting at this location. About ten people stood in line ahead of me with one person servicing package delivery at a glacial pace. No interaction seemed to go smoothly. With every person arriving at the window returned an annoyed postal worker with a reason why they didn't have their package. After being moved to a new window and locked in, it was finally my turn. I handed the gentlemen at the window the confirmation number that was given to me by the person I spoke with earlier in the day. On the post it I had also jotted down the address of the USPS location I was currently standing at. The man asked me "is this your address?" I said "no that's the address here" to which he so smugly replied "yeah I know so what's yours?!" Ummmm did I do something to upset you? Five minutes later he returns to tell me my package was delivered to my home that day and that I should go home. Ready to leave and rush home I find myself locked in. I tell a man behind the counter and he ignores me. So I move down the line to a woman I can only imagine learned her manners from a farm animal. She kept her headphones in an kept moving her head away from my sight to avoid seeing me. I yelled "excuse me! Can someone please let me out?" And without even glancing in my direction she said "I dunno I'm busy not my problem". Lovely. Finally someone arrived and let me free. I arrived home to find no package waiting fore. Oh, joy! All I can say is, the commercials the USPS puts on television is some sick cruel parody of a parallel universe I wish I had walked into. read more

I hate the post office! I had the unfortunate situation of having a package delivered by the post office. What made things worse was seeing a "Sorry we missed you" note... requiring me to make a trip to this gawd forsaking place. I arrive at 9:30am, the time listed on the note, but this particular post office doesn't open their package pick-up until 10am!! WTF? Either update the "Sorry we missed you" note, write the "limited hours" on the note, or open when you state you"lol be open. It's NOT that difficult to provide the minimum level of service. Wow, what a nightmare of a place. Let's start with their hours. I got a package pick up notice in the mailbox, and informed me I could pick it up at this location. Since I have to be at work on the west side by 9:30, I figured I would come by at 9am, get my package and be on my way. After having been to this place a couple of times before (all to mail things), I knew the place is ALWAYS BUSY. However, I thought 9am is early, and usually pick ups are very fast. Oh boy, was I WRONG! I arrived at the post office, the doors to the counters were closed and their old printed sign on the door said: :30am-5pm. I'm sorry, isn't it a government service? Shouldn't they be opening at 9am at the latest? Let's face it, most people can't just come by b/t 9:30-5pm, since we all have to work! Now I figured, well since I'm already here...might as well wait. So I waited until 9:30, and by now, there's already a line of at least 15 people waiting. Come 9:40, they finally turn the lights on and open the doors. The lady informed the line pick ups go to window 6. So I'm partially relieved that I can get faster service. About 6 of us line up by window 6. A couple of minutes later, nobody shows up. In the meanwhile, the actual line is moving fast, and I could've already had my turn at a regular window. After a while, people started to complain, and asked if anyone was coming to the window. The same lady that told us to wait said she would page the supervisor. I swear, after 15 minutes, and 3 pages later, a woman finally showed up at the window. She had no idea why she was paged and stared at us blankly. Now, the pick up line is about ten people deep and everyone is VERY upset. We all quickly handed her our notices and complained about the service, but she didn't apologize or show any emotions at all. I guess they all go through some sort of defense training to counter expected angry customers. I would never fault a place for being slow if their agents are clearly helping everyone, and it's just a bad circumstance. However, this post office can be the poster child of disgruntled employees. How can you watch ten people standing in a line, blocking the door, just waiting for over 15 minutes..just to be helped? Does human compassion not take over at some point? I SWEAR I WILL NEVER COME INTO THIS PLACE, UNLESS I'M HAVING A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT, AND THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE THEY SHIP MY REPLACEMENT KIDNEY TO...EVEN THEN, I DOUBT I WILL GET IT IN A TIMELY MANNER. UPDATE: At a previous visit, I accidentally left my wallet on the automated machine. I realized it about ten minutes after I left the place. Once I got back, waited in line, and inquired about any found wallets..the agent told me they hadn't found one, and to call back later. I called later that afternoon, and still they said noone had turned it in. Luckily, before I canceled all of my credit cards, the person who found it contacted me. When I asked him why he didn't leave it at the post office, he told me he tried, and get this...THEY WOULDN'T TAKE IT! He said he went to every window, and asked them to take the found wallet, and they REFUSED to take it! WHAT A BUNCH OF MORONS! I'M pretty sure if we turn them around, and peel off their shirts, we will find a battery case that powers their robotic bodies. read more

This is my first time at this location and it will be the last. I ship packages all over the world for my business and this is the FIRST time since 2002 that my package was denied. An associate directed me to the drop door as my package was already labeled and ready to go. With my package already in the door, a different associate said it was too big and unable to be delivered. I send orders this size ALL the time and I told him this. He proceeded to say it can't be sent and took out measuring tape to "prove" it even though he clearly has his facts wrong. I have been awaiting a package which after a week I had not received. It turns out the carrier couldn't get into the building. Even though they deliver mail to us six days a week. They also never left a notice. I scheduled a re-delivery for a few days later. They didn't bother to fulfill that request. And because I have no notice I can't go to the local branch to retrieve the package myself. It is ridiculous there is no oversight. There is no need for anyone to do anything at any post office, but there jobs remain secure. So this is where out tax money goes. read more

Such spectacular idiots. They lost 3 weeks of my mail. I went out of town, put a hold on my mail, and when I went to pick it up they couldn't find it. They could never find it. I was told that they'd called and confirmed that it was out on the truck for delivery (it wasn't), I was told to come back if I had a problem and they'd resolve it (they didn't.) Living within 5 blocks walking distance and being served by this branch I can assure you that the other reviewers outrage and disgust are well founded. They seem to have a different delivery person every other day. Its more like a training route here. If you want to gauge the quality of education, survey how often your mail person screws up. Growing up in the 60s and 70s the mail person was attacked by dogs and the weather, but they had our respect because they did a good job. Rarely did my folks ever get somebody else mail or get their credit screwed up by not getting the bills on time. Nowadays you have to wonder what part of your business affairs are not being dealt with because you have not received you latest bill or statement, nor the past due notice that would alert you that something has gone wrong. Just 2 months ago I had a registered delivery that arrived on monday and by Friday had still not been delivered. Just sitting there for me to have to go and pick up. It wasnt even heavy, my grandmother could have shouldered it. Lazy useless Federal parasites. I wanted to ask why I had to go calling and chasing my package down instead of having it delivered by at least 4 days after arrival, but was afraid that any, no doubt unsatisfactory response I expected to get, would have me berating them loudly to the point where I could get hauled off for disturbing the peace of the imbeciles. Ok....so I know the post office is never supposed to be a super fun experience, but I have dealt with this place many times as I live a block away. They have "misplaced" two of my packages, one being a gift for a girl I babysit, and they truly don't seem to preoccupied with providing customer service. I really wouldn't say any of this unless it was true, I understand we all have off days at work and can't be perfect all the time. Literally, out of the ten times I have been here, all 10 times have been an absolute joke. Totally agree with the other reviewers that call this the Worst. Post Office. EVER. Yes, in capital letters. Employees could not be more rude, unhelpful and downright ignorant. Yah, I said it.
