This place is terrible and I didn't even go here! I had made an appointment for my friend to apply for a passport. I made the appointment over the phone last week and the lady over the phone seemed really nice and we made the appointment for Tuesday @ 10:15am (today). Today, my friend had left work to get this done because weekends are closed. Anywho.. she had told me when she arrived, there was a nice lady but she was busy with someone and then another lady came out and said she did not have an appointment. Ok.. if it was a mistake that they put it in the wrong day then it's not a big deal. She had explained that her friend (me) had made this appointment and the lady was quite rude. She said that they do not make appointments after holidays and that she was not able to reschedule this in person. What was even shittier was that they didn't even take a look to see if her appointment was on another day.. the lady was a complete bitch and she said they were quite busy so she needed to make an appointment over the phone.. but she was already there! and my friend also explained to me that it was completely empty inside. What a bitch! I had called this post office when my friend came back (very upset) and they said her appointment was for Wednesday @ 10:15am (tomrorow).. seriously? It's fine if there were mistakes made, but there is no need to be a bitch to someone who was completely calm and nice about it the whole time.. RUDE! read more

I hate coming to this location. Parking is easy, as they have an overflow lot, and entry/exit is probably some of the easiest of San Diego Post Offices.....then everything goes downhill. The clientele....is....uh.....instructionally challenged....as in....pick an issue for someone to have problems with, usually right in front of you, and they will: -Have the wrong packaging, and require assistance in repackaging -Need help filling out an international delivery form -Pay for the bill in pennies, nickles and dimes -Have a screaming child in tow, and simultaneously be screaming into a mobile phone -Get into an argument with one of the two or three at most Postal Clerks manning the counter By far the suckiest Post Office experience I have had in San Diego, and to that end, the west coast.....but if you live in the area, there are not too many choices....you can pay a lot more for a Postal Annex or UPS Store....or suck it up, and maybe have a cocktail(or three) before you brave the other idiots that use this location. This place has pretty low reviews and I don't know why so much hate. This place was quick except for the fools in line. The employees even said, "if you're not ready, step side for others to go." I ended up coming here to get the pixar stamps. I wanted to get in and out in minutes and I would have had it not been for two people that don't understand how shipping something works. It was all a futile effort since they don't even sell the Pixar Stamps. All in all, the I thought that the employees here were pretty knowledgeable and helpful. They did their best to get through the lines and well, let's face it. Anyone who calls out idiots for being idiotic is a + in my opinion. TL:DR - Not bad. The people here are very helpful. Ice stopped by a couple of times since I was needing help tracking down a package that showed it was delivered. I think the team works hard, but also wants to work as efficiently. Lines are longer due to covid, but the staff does what they can to keep the flow going and continue to help bring the line down. The manager is always involved and stepping outside to ask or check what people are needing help with in case he can assist them immediately. read more

I'm totally impressed on how Eric accommodated me with regards to my forwarding mail service from my previous P.O. Box to my current home address, he certainly took his time to investigate whether my request can be granted or not by simply asking the appropriate team and eventually provided me extraordinary customer service, got the mails the next day as he promised. Last Saturday I put out two letters to be picked up by the mail carrier so she could take them with her to post office for delivery to addresses on the envelope. What she did was deliver the two letters ( bills I was sending a payment ) to my neighbor across from my home. The neighbor opened the envelopes thinking the letters were for him. He brought the two opened letters to me and said he hadn't noticed who they were addressed to. On Tuesday the day after the Monday holiday I asked the same mail carrier why she had left my mail with the neighbor, she first stated that was off on Saturday, after I told her that I had seen her pick up the mail she changed her story that she was very tired. There is no excuse for failure to do your job as you are trained to do. On Tuesday when I spoke with the mail carrier I asked her to have the manager give me a call when she returned to the post office here in Mira Mesa. I gave he my name and phone number. I have also called the Mira Mesa post office several times since Tuesday (Oct. 10th) NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE WHY??? read more

I was so impressed with the Mira Post office yesterday- I just had to share my experience. Mayra went above and beyond for me. You see - I recently moved to the area and in my mailbox I found a yellow form that you are supposed to fill out for the letter carrier on one end and on the other end it says 'address is vacant - do not leave mail'. When I filled it out and put it back in the box - I forgot to remove the end that says vacant - so the letter carrier did not leave my mail. The problem was - I was expecting a check in the mail that was to be delivered that day. So after I saw my mistake I went to the post office - completely upset with myself for being careless and Mayra assisted me. She reached out to my carrier and he actually brought my mail to me at the post office! I was so shocked! I figured that they would tell me 'Oh Well' - but they didn't. They gave me a stool to sit on while I waited and together they saved the day!!! I didn't get my carriers name but you bet I will be finding out and he will be getting something extra for the holidays! They provided me with AMAZING customer service and I'm very impressed and thankful for them both! read more

JUST got off the phone with the ASSHOLE "post master" at this location. i am in utter disgust at the way he presents himself. i have dealt with post offices all over the county and have always been served respectfully, even had the phone answered sometimes. SHOCKING. YES, when i ordered something online, my work computer auto-filled the wrong zipcode & i forgot the suite number. IT HAPPENS SIR. The fact that is has taken ONE WEEK to even speak to someone at this location BECAUSE NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE EVER, shows poor management. I called every day, different times of the day, and no one EVER picks up. fed up, i call the 800 USPS number i found online and a very nice young man was kind enough to pass the message along to the man not doing the job our taxes pay him to do. i get a call back with the most condescending attitude, from the jump. i couldnt hear at first because my kids had the tv too loud, so he repeated himself super slow, like i was an idiot and didnt understand what he was saying. then proceeds to tell me "if it didnt have the right address it wont get delivered" ya dont say? i've never mailed anything before. *obvious sarcasm* he made it a point to tell me they closed at 5 and he was there late to return my call. ha! you want a cooke for doing your job??? im done dealing or sending anything to the 92126 zipcode ever again, which is where i work, thanks to him. i dont care if it's tax time, TAKE THE STICK OUT OF YOUR ANUS. im sorry youre so miserable you feel the need to take it out on someone who just needed to know if she could pick up her package, or wait to hear from the vendor. not a huge deal. once i called him out on his attitude, he hung up on me. This place is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have just spent half of my work day at the property I work at hearing complaints about lost packages because of their temp staff. They are unapologetic about putting packages in the wrong box and told one of my residents that it was "a surprise package for someone else" and then refused to knock on any ones door to try and deliver their packages. This is the closest post office near my house, literally 2 blocks away so when I get these annoying companies that want to send me a letter requiring a signature, and I am not home when the postman stops by my house, I have to drive all the way to the post office to sign and pick up my letter *annoying*. Only go here if you have a serious death wish. Parking is poor post office style - 10 diagonal spaces in front and then a separated lot on the corner that you have to follow some path to get back to the post office. That lot holds maybe an additional 10 cars max. Inside you will find almost all of the Filipino population mailing packages and money order back to the home country. Nothing but old Filipinos tying up the line. (Just an observation, not meant to be rude.) Again there are 10 positions, maybe 4 are staffed adding to the lines. A post office trademark. read more

I never thought I would be reviewing a post office but I have to give kudos to Eric for his proactive customer service. I usually just go in to buy stamps from the kiosk but to my surprise the machine was down today. I headed to the long holiday line...but to my surprise Eric came out of nowhere asked me if I just needed stamps, and helped me separate line away from the crowds! The customer service (Asian lady) is actually pretty hilarious but I can't give this place anything higher than a 2 due to the slow service. Funny or not, it's unlikely anyone wants to be at a post office for longer than 30 minutes. Trying to avoid paying a little extra at a mailstop or a UPS Store are we? Do yourself a favor and don't go here. I have to send poster tubes internationally from time to time -- which tend to get crushed if I use UPS and can't be mailed using the USPS automated teller. No one uses FedEx for these types of packages. So I have no choice but to stand in line at a Post Office. But Good Lord this is a miserable place. Even for a SoCal Post Office--by definition a nightmare--this branch is DMV-crowded during all open hours. It's also rundown and dirty--and the workers here will be ambivalent to rude (as if there was a possibility you'd get Nordstrom-style service at a Post Office). Have not personally found the previous reviewer's racial observations on the clientele to ring true; but I can confirm surveying those around you here will give an update of what's current in ghetto fashion. There are also plenty of confused, slow seniors around to extend your visit needlessly. I did enjoy the comments by the previous reviewer about the ridiculous parking lot here as though--which apparently was intentionally designed for annoyance and frustration. The lines are always super long during 12-2pm. I usually use the self service machine since most of my packages that are being sent are domestic. It's a pain when I have to send an international package because the wait is super long on the line. The people who work here are nice but the line.. If only their machine had an option to send out to international then they would be amazing! read more

I agree with everyone else, poor attitude that breaks a whole new bottom for "customer service" I stopped by to mail a package, I asked them for the cheapest rate to mail a package I had to send cross country. They charged my 10 dollars, I asked them if there was a cheaper rate i.e. at least first class because I had sent packages that were much larger and heavie for less. They just ignored what I said and asked for my money. What the heck? at least answer my question... So I look up the rates online once I get home, my package should have been shipped for 2.00 based on the assessed weight. These guys are a prime example of why the post office continues to loose money. For once, I would actually have preferred a computer over a "real" person to help me with my shipping questions. I agree with most reviews that the venue of this Post Office is less than perfect but lets lighten up with racist remarks about certain nationalities. Come here between 11am and 2pm and the place will be packed with the line going out the door. Why because Mira Mesa and Sorrento Valley hosts a huge number of San Diegans for work. Let me give you some parking tips to start off. If you are coming from East on Mira Mesa and will go back East, then park in the main lot. If you are going west then park on the Marbury lot or by the Popeye's because out of the main lot you can only head east on Mira Mesa Blvd. If you have prepaid or stamped mail, then enter the main lot and go to the end and utilize one of the many post boxes and you are on your way. You can buy a stamp online at www.usps.com and they will give you tracking for free for Priority or Express shipping. If you have to buy stamps and there is a line, then utilize the shipping machine inside. This machine weighs your mail and gives you options to buy stamps for first class, priority or express and you can also add tracking and return receipt etc. If you must see the clerk then get in the queue. Even though there may be 10-15 people ahead of you, the line moves rather fast. Dont mind people asking questions, you are in the post office. For centuries people have gone to post offices as routine and conversed with clerks on their day to day stuff. Usually PO clerks are mindful of the line of people. Keep in mind that 75% of your normal mailings can be handled online, so if you do fall in the other 25% category, please be patient. read more

Always busy, tough to find a parking spot most times, and hard to get out of since it's right off Mira Mesa Blvd. They really need to update, remodel and make this location larger, and add a better parking lot. I know what to expect at most USPS offices. Long lines. Long wait times. Varying customer service. What I do NOT expect is to be asked if what I'm mailing is fragile, and after responding "no," have the USPS representative use his heavy hand to smack around my package, as if he's trying to break a block of peanut brittle, or, yell out loud, after supposedly verifying my NAME is the same on my license as displayed on my credit card, that my license is expiring this year. SMH. There were three lines open. The first had a female USPS representative who was getting people in and out (kudos to her)! The second line (where I ended up with The Hulk) was going slow as molasses. The third line eventually turned into a manager arguing, in the form of "explaining," with a customer about her internationally mailed packaged she picked up (which looked all kinds of jacked up). I went towards the end of lunch, so like I previously stated, I could understand the wait; however, I'm not down with the carelessness of the rep's intake of my package. If you're checking this review for price points: I sent two priority mail envelopes, which included tracking, and used the STUFF IT TIL IT FITS method, so they were $5.60 each. Not bad. If you know the location of a more customer service friendly USPS location, I would go there instead. read more

What is with the 2 stars? It's the post office, of course it's going to be busy! I went around 1:00 on a Thursday so there was only 4 of us in line. Everyone was really nice and extremely helpful. I was sending a package to my friend using one of those flat-rate shipping boxes and one of the workers suggested using the smaller box. She said if everything fits, it'll be able to ship everything at a cheaper rate. My package made it to it's destination without any damages and I didn't have to purchase insurance. They'll ask you if you want "next-day" shipping or insurance, it's standard to ask. Just bypass all the questions with a No and you'll be in and out within 10 minutes or less. read more
