Open going to this local postal annex for the past 13 years for my employer and have built a relationship with the owners Raja is the wife she's very calm and she has a very wonderful customer service she always has gone above and beyond for my boss and I always asking how we're doing how is his health and greets me every time as well as her husband Ahmad his old school mannerism is not what the reviews have said he's very respectful and laughs with me and just listening to me venting at times and always has a smile on his face and loves his family very much I would continue to support a mom and pop business that is trying to evolve and provide for their family then other big successful businesses that see us as just a number This postal annex has never closed down since I've been working in Mira Mesa since 2009 so they're doing something right with multiple resources including notary to scanning to emails to packaging even when life is rough through this pandemic and our health is at Jeopardy they are always open to the public supporting one another through their challenges I respect this beautiful married couple and their business 100% these days people expect instant gratification We're human we are not robots like society is trying to make us. Complete waste of my time! First and foremost, I have tremendous respect for everyone, especially elders but holy cow. I was literally next in line to get a couple of things notarized. Was asked to wait 10 minutes or so, so I said sure. When it was my turn, I was turned down in favor of someone else who literally just walked in because they "simply have other services the need to tend to." What???? They completely wasted my time. Mind you, I needed to pick up my daughter so I left pretty disgusted. Nothing annoys me more. Surprised they have even two stars here. Never again. So unprofessional. read more

They have some of the cutest greeting cards in there and everything seemed to be fairly priced! This is a small location but it has what you need in order to get stuff sent out. I've come here frequently to return amazon packages. As a matter of fact, I just did that today at my visit. I believe a husband and wife own the business. The husband can be a bit gruff and more "rough around the edges" when it comes to customer service based on my interactions. The wife is more friendly and smiles and will initiate conversation. At times there can be a long wait...hey are a small business, so give them a break here. Especially if you come in on a lunch break (when everyone else in the area decides to as well). It's obvious that there will be a wait then. They offer an array of services...ups, fed ex, shipping. The wife is a notary as well, if you need that service. All in all, I'll be back here. I really like that it's a small business and I don't mind waiting. I would give zero stars if possible. If you have a package that is for usps don't bother dropping it off here. Once the post is picked up for the day they won't take your package, so I guess get there by 10am and they might service you. No other postal annex does this, I thought having this spot near work would make my shipping capability much easier. Unfortunately this establishment has made my life incredibly hard trying finding another postal annex in the middle of the day. I have used postal annex at many locations and have dropped packages off as late as 5:30 when they close with no problem. Plus, when do Postal Annexes not give a receipt for your packages? Every other location gives receipts but this one refuses to. I stopped by this store to send something internationally via DHL. I had typed out the sender and recipient information on a Word document and handed it over to the lady at the counter. She then told me it would be easier if I just typed the information myself. That was a first! I will give them credit for trying to minimize the packaging required so that it would cost less. The difference between an envelope and a plastic pak can make a huge difference especially shipping overseas. I didn't have a chance to look around the store much but they did have a lot of random shipping and office supplies that you might need. You're probably better off going to a larger retail shop such as Staples or even Target in the same shopping center for supplies. read more

I like that when I drop off my UPS package, they give me a receipt because sometimes, I'm paranoid and I feel like if I drop off my packages in one of those drop-off bins, that no one will pick my package up and that my package will sit there for days. However, at PostalAnnex, I know my package is getting taken care of because they scan it and give me a receipt! This place is hidden next to Domino's Pizza in the same plaza as Target. I went into this store today to ship 3 boxes to the same address. First off, there was a lady before me who was trying to figure out how much something would cost to shop, which seemed to annoy the man at the desk - possibly the owner, he's older and had an accent. Then when she said she was going somewhere else he seemed almost put out, like she had to do her business there. Oh and the small box she bought from him was $8 what the heck that box is probably $2 at Target. Now it's my turn, mind you I wasn't even greeted. I brought up the boxes and immediately he seemed put out, upset that I had that many boxes. He started with my name and couldn't understand a word I was saying, then my address talking to me like I'm an idiot - I said I'm going to put my work address - and he questioned me like I didn't know what I was doing. Then came the ship address again couldn't understand me, so I showed it to him - which again he had problems with... this probably took 5 minutes to input. Next came the boxes - he starts taping them over and over again and then complains that I'm not buying new ones, no thank you I'm not buying a tour over priced boxes. 35 minutes pass... and I'm finally done. And the older gentleman who was hacking behind me called me rude for "making him tape my boxes" um no I didn't make him do anything. My boxes are taped the man wanted to take the entire box on his own, mind your business. I will never go back here again, rude employee and rude customers. Worst customer service ever and slowest service I've ever seen! I'll be going to the FedEx and UPS store like I should have in the first place. I've had NO issues at either place. I was out in San Diego for a vacation and got delayed multiple times by Southwest so I ended up shipping some of my belongings back to New Hampshire. The gal at the postal annex was so helpful she put together the box we put the belongings in. We closed it up she taped it professionally. And it arrived on time! I'm not sure where to start with this place. Since I moved to Mira Mesa a couple months ago, I've been having a hard time finding a post office that is fast where I can just drop stuff off and go quickly. I sell a lot of stuff on Poshmark and so I'm always just trying to mail my postage prepaid packages quickly so I can get to work during the day. I've been to this location more than a few times. Each time I've had to wait in line because I can't simply drop the package off. Oh no. They have to talk to me first which is pretty annoying. "Do you have any explosives, blahh blahh blahh." No! It's just clothing! It takes them a gruelingly long time it to serve each customer. On the one occasion that I have actually paid for postage there, it was incredibly expensive. I would recommend going somewhere else where you'll pay half the price (like the actual post office) or better yet just print out prepaid postage online. But as far as dropping packages off to actually get the mailed from here, I don't recommend that either. Last time, I waited for about seven minutes for them to take my package only to learn that they can't mail my package because it was over 2 pounds. I won't be going back there ever again. Ridiculously overpriced. I do not advise going here. I needed to ship something next day delivery by DHL & they wanted $250 when the DHL shipping quote was $140. i asked why they wanted $110 over the DHL shipping quote & the lady just looked at me & had no answer. i can understand adding some for the convenience of dropping it off at a closer location but $110 extra is absurd. I had the absolute worst experience imaginable here. The owner told me my package would cost $42 to ship + approximately $5 for a box, spent literally 30 minutes boxing it, and then charged me $25 for boxing it and $65 to ship. When I told him to remove my item from the box he said no and forced me to pay for the outrageously marked up packaging costs. This place is an absolute rip-off. I would never go back and while I am the first to review I hope that others see this and avoid this place. Go to the post office, or directly to UPS to ship. The man working there took one and told me it would be $1.25 each because they were over the size limit. That seemed high considering it was just a standard 5x7 card, so I told him I would just go to the post office. Thank goodness I did because all they needed was one stamp each. I've gone into numerous postal places before and this place has by far the worst customer service! The people who owns it needs to learn customer service skills! I don't recommend this place to anyone! Especially if you have kids! I went in to this location yesterday with my 2 year old son just to send out a fax. I believe the man who helped me was possibly the owner. I turned around just to tell him what I needed and my son was looking at the pens before I could even say a word the person who was behind the counter yells and says "keep your son with you anything he breaks ill have to pay for" I was in shock! I've been using this place for mailbox services for a couple years now. Pricing is reasonable, and they call me to notify me of packages (about 75% of the time). Their notary service, which I have used twice, was fairly priced and professional. But I agree with the other reviewers that the prices for shipping packages from here are quite high. I understand they need to make a profit, and the lines are usually much shorter than at the post office. But I cringe any time I walk in with a box to ship. I have to do the math in my head of "X dollars in overpricing vs Y minutes wasted in line somewhere else" to see if it's really worth it. They used to have more staffing, which I think helped keep the lines shorter, and improved the customer service. Lately, not so much. I'd give a 4 for the inbound mail services and the notary, and a 2 for the outbound mail services. read more

I've never waited long in line, and when I send multiple packages out they are great at making sure they keep which is which straight and triple check everything is correct. However, I have noticed one thing that they have been doing that I am not happy about. For the past two years, they have raised our monthly rental fee without any advanced notice (either verbally or in writing). Super overpriced. I went in for passport photos and to ship something via FedEx or UPS. The photos were taken with a point and shoot camera in dreadful lighting, so the result did not meet passport photo requirements at all. I ended up buying the envelope from Postal Annex and headed to the FedEx office down the street to get some passport photos and mail my package. Imagine my shock when FedEx told me that Postal Annex had charged me 30% more than what the actual FedEx price was! I'm never going back to this place - it seems very convenient because they supposedly have a notary and the ability to take passport photos all in one place, but there's no way you can use the passport photos they take. The people were polite but charging me 30% more for an already expensive mailing label was ludicrous! Head over to the FedEx office on Westview parkway if you're going to be mailing stuff via FedEx, or need passport photos. I'm very disappointed with my experience and wish I'd read the reviews on Yelp before wasting my time and money. read more

I had a horrible experience today, and after reading the other reviews, it's pathetically comforting to know I'm not the only one. Basically, my husband asked me to drop off a package that already had a label and just needed to be taped up and have the label affixed. He said there's a nice guy there that does it for him all the time. The box literally needed FOUR pieces of tape. Long story short, there were a total of 6 people in line and when I finally got to the front, and who seemed to be the owner, progresses to get exasperated with me and closes up the box and just leaves the label loose on top of the box telling me "he'll get to it later" because he "has customers in line." I'm sorry, didn't I just wait in line like everyone else to be told I'm not a customer? Anyway, I left then came back an hour later when there was nobody in line and tried to give the owner some friendly advice that it's probably a good idea to provide those simple courtesies (taping my box even though I wasn't paying him) because that's how you can ensure a customer WILL come back with paying business. He proceeded to yell at me and I walked out shaking my head. My husband will have to do it himself next time because you couldn't pay me to set foot in there again. read more

I give this place 4 1/2 stars. The only con is the bankers hours. Otherwise, I'm very happy with this place. I rent a mailbox here and was pleasantly surprised by the great service the rental comes with. I don't often get snail mail, so being able to call ahead to check for anything in my box is a nice amenity. Also, if you're headed there before closing to pick up a package, and get caught in Miramar traffic, like I always do, just call ahead to let them know you're on the way and they'll have the package ready for you. Great notary service. Be careful of the price difference if you mail USPS priority mail though. The price us almost doubled if mailing from here compared to mailing from the post office. Called corporate which was limited in helping. Went there to mail a package out. They have many sizes of boxes to choose from at a very cheap price. I needed to mail out a standard size textbook and the box for that was $3.99 plus tax. Unfortunately I only had $100 bill or my card and they didn't have change. There's a minimum of $5 on the card so I just bought one stamp which was 60 something cents to meet the minimum. The lady that helped me was so kind and helpful. They also notarize letters here for $15! Definitely will be my go to place for mailing needs read more
