I'm so sick of dealing with this PO! They always have an excuse for packages they delivered to the wrong people! One of mine from Amazon sent a delivered notification on a box I never received. Not impressed. The woman behind the counter had great communication for the first 60 seconds of our interaction and then randomly became hard to understand and rude when I didn't predict what the process would be when she wanted me to do things on the signature pad. Super random. Also, this was one of the farthest post offices from my home for my package to be sent to. Not sure why it didn't go downtown or to Capitola or Soquel. Very strange. read more

I called the Scotts Valley Post Office to inquire about a package delivery that was delayed. I spoke to a nice, courteous employee named David who patiently explained the situation. I said that I would come to pick up the package which had been delayed in delivery due to heavy weight--Amazon had packed three orders into one box. David was kind enough to load the box into my car. This post office has really nice hard-working clerks, I am not sure about carrier's and the 2 women supervisors that work there. I followed up in regards to package that was scanned delivered, but clearly wasn't delivered. It made it all the way from UK to get lost at the hands of a carrier, who clearly couldn't tell the difference between addresses. I reached out to the supervisors and every time for a whole week that I corresponded with them, they didn't apologize or follow-up with me and when I did speak with them they had no clue about anything, not even their routes. Which makes me think twice about their efficiency and organization of this particular station and lastly about getting packages through this particular station. Of course, nothing got resolved or package wasn't found. It would be a great place if management and carriers did their job and protected the mail as they are sworn to do. read more

I don't live in Scotts Valley but have business there often. I have mailed letters using the curbside mailboxes and have had no problems with that. I did have a major problem with mailing a small package this week. I was sending out a light weight box which costs $13 using priority mail. I took it to the male clerk (I won't use his name) who weighed it and quoted me $13. I told him this was an ebay sale and it needed to go priority. I was about to pay when he said that the box now was "over sized" and he would have to measure it and use the dimensions to calculate the postage rather than weight. Now the postage increased to $48. I should have walked out and gone to the Morrissey office but I needed the tracking number and accepted. I went back the next day to complain to the same clerk but he stood by his actions and nothing was resolved. The same item in the same box was shipped to me at $13 postage which is what it is supposed to be. I was obviously ripped off and wonder what happened to the extra $35 I paid. I will not return to this post office especially after reading other reviews. read more

This post office is apparently stealing packages and the station manager knows about it! My priority package shows as delivered, but it wasn't!!!! I thought that US Postal Service employees had to take a government test that demonstrates a basic ability to read numbers and letters in order to get hired. Perhaps not, as the Scotts Valley postal carriers who deliver mail to our four unit complex in Live Oak perpetually put our mail in the wrong mail boxes, even though the boxes, and the mail, are clearly labeled with the address numbers ####, #### A, #### B, and #### C. This is the worst Post Office I have ever been to. The clerks are either rude or inefficient to say the least. Every time I go everyone in line is upset. This is not the place for a clerk to be visiting with customers and taking her time to annoy everyone around her. There is usually a long line at the time she insists on taking as long as possible for a simple transaction with a customer. Please can someone get this place in order and hire some decent help! read more

worst post office I have encountered. have had a box there for many years - only go to clerks if I have to b/c most of them are snarky. I often receive others' mail in my box. I toss it back in the mailbox to avoid going inside to wait in long line (wouldn't be so long if the clerks were quick and efficient). The lock on my box has been malfunctioning for years. I went in and made an attempt to have it replaced - never happened. It's more of a hassle to deal with them so I just live with taking time to jostle the key until it turns. finally decided to cancel box. I want nothing to do with this post office, but I feel intimidated by the workers so I did the forwarding online and will go through the process as best I can on my own. After reading other reviewer I am concerned because I, as well, haven't received any of my forwarded mail since. It's unjust to feel distrust for our mail workers. Had a return shipping label on small box back to clock company. Weeks later I received it back with original, worthless part and all labels removed, except my return address. This post office has severely disappointed me,to say the least. I was assured that shipping my 2 chickens would be completely safe and they would arrive at their destination the next morning, something that was guaranteed to me and I paid almost $200 for. The next morning the chickens were only 15 minutes away from Scott's valley where they spent 12 hours in a hot van, and the rest of the time were unaccounted for. Both I and my aunt spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get some answers but no response from either Scott's valley or Memphis post office. When the chickens finally arrived, more than a day late, my Buckeye chicken was dead. She was in perfect health when I shipped her and had hydrating food in her box. The postal workers won't accept responsibility for the death of my wonderful chicken and I can surely say that I will never use USPS again. I cannot even imagine the conditions that they put my chickens through... it makes me sick to my stomach. read more

Lately, I find every trip to this Scotts Valley Post Office to be quite unpleasant. The two female clerks seem to hate sending out international parcels. When she realized that I've got an international package to send, the older woman with short hair, actually huffed and rolled her eyes! No jokes. She actually rolled her eyes and said that she's been doing international all day and palmed me off to the other woman. The other woman explained that I could always do it online which would "make it easier on all of us". I felt so bad that I actually apologized for coming in and making it difficult for them! This is not the first time they've mumbled and openly shown their displeasure (the older one actually). Whether I come in at 3pm or 4pm (they close at 4:30pm), it seems to be a problem for them... the older one has mumbled stuff like "... always wait till the last minute to come here..." I understand that the documentation they need to do for international packages takes an extra 5 minutes or so. So what? Isn't that part of their job? If they hate their job or are not competent enough, surely there would be other cheerful and qualified people who'd be happy to work there. I don't feel welcome when I come here and always leave feeling bad. Don't get me wrong, they've had some really nice staff earlier and I didn't have any issues with international packages... they never huffed and mumbled or showed their displeasure like this particular woman does. I've made up my mind not to go to this SV branch ever again even though it's just down my road. BAD SERVICE!!! read more

Scotts Valley Post Office delivers mail in Santa Cruz. I have received mail during rainy seasons for the last 55 years. And there has never been a problem of wet mail being delivered until Scotts valley mail delivery took over our area of Santa Cruz on Branciforte. . I called up Scotts Valley post office to let them know that soaked mail can't be read. The young man on the phone was defensive and said when it rains the mail can get wet. I asked if they could tuck the mail inside their plastic covering like they do to protect their clothes and he said they have to have it in their hand or something ridiculous answer. I have had days that there is no mail when there should be. I had a mail delivery of junk mail where he gave me 5 Rite Aide adds, two Safeway adds and just stuffed them all in my mailbox. Lastly I filled out a card to stop the mail for three weeks and the mail was not stopped but over flowing out of the mail box unto the porch. Did the carrier even think to right down the address to inquire or if the mail was stopped???? No. Could care less. A neighbor said that they picked it up and put the mail in my back porch. Some just don't give a hoot about being responsible. read more
