Once we decided on our multiple purchases Nick carefully guided us through the operational details for the equipment. He answered all of our questions, showing great patience with a non-tech savvy couple. At all times he was polite, professional and of good humor. The manager (James) literally pretended to be reading from the list of promotions and told me that if I bought an SE with Next Up, I could trade in the phone after a month, pay a third of the value of the SE and have a 16 for free. He made it seem like a great deal, laughing and all happy for me. He was acting and lying, fully aware of his lie. Later, two reps in person and two on the phone told me he had in fact lied. I then had to pay $55 to return the SE (At and T on the phone did reimburse me). He also continued to lie, saying that he had not in fact lied. I have left my phone number for the district manager (linda) who has not bothered to call me back. This is a first for me in a phone store. When you go there, prepare yourself as if you are about to buy a used car. Do not trust what you hear. Research it, then make a decision.

I echo the sentiments of MANY people who have the same complaints. Short version: continuous rate…read morehikes for service that is mediocre. Over $100/month just for internet? And an extra charge - "convenience fee" to pay online. Are you f...g kidding? I too, will be looking forward to Hunter.

I've had Charter Spectrum for internet, the 500 package for almost 7 years. Over the first 4-5…read moreyears, they delivered a competent signal with few interruptions. The price began increasing by year 2 or 3, about $5 a year every year. If they skipped a year, it was $10 more the following year. Over the past 2 years, the signal consistency has degraded. There will be a few days, here and there, where the speed was so slow, streaming television was impossible. Then, out of nowhere, it went back to normal. Sometimes there was insufficient signal to make a connection. As of this writing, the "stuttering" signal effect has lasted half a week, seemingly normal for a few days, then back to being unusable. This occurred at all hours, not just during prime internet use. My wife has a position that requires her to have a competent internet connection so she called the listed 800 number to inquire what could be done. She was told that the company was aware of the problem and that it would persist for several more days. Here's the takeaway. We only use internet from them so we aren't dependent on them for other services. That internet is now $100 a month and they specifically state that they don't provide credit or refunds for what is essentially their poor infrastructure. They also don't pro-rate the bill over the number of days that bill is paying for service, even when there are multiple days of EXTREMELY poor signal quality that they know about. If you quit one day into a new billing cycle, that's still $100. You don't get what you pay for, they know it and they don't give a s#@&! I don't cater to a business. If they want my revenue, it's on them to earn it. I went to drop my equipment off at the local store. Being 10th in line for 1-2 representatives working, they are as bad as a used car salesman. While everyone waits 1.5 hours for their turn, they get chummy with the client and then work their upgrade sales tactics to convince a customer they need better, or more services than what they came in for. My case was very simple. No chit-chat. I didn't answer their dialogue questions of why I was quitting or what service I was replacing them with. It's immaterial at this point and a waste of my time while others are forced to wait. I deserved better and so does everyone else.
