I have been coming to this post office my whole life , over the last 5 years EVERYTHING had gone Way down hill , usually only one or two people working , has to take many brakes , lines are through the doors, employees are rude and slow working , and the worst part is THEY LOOSE YOUR MAIL. once a month a package or two is missing with no answers . The man that works here is rude and not helpful . It's a disgrace for a post office . - so sad . They need help and a big shift attitude , it's a circus. read more

They could give a shit if you forgot a box, if you need ten seconds to remember your cousin's zip code, if the boxes you're dropping off are for charity. You are just another slack jawed citizen with no knowledge of priority mail tier pricing, standing between them and that sweet sweet clock out time. The United States Postal Service should be ashamed of this building, its parking lot and the presentation as an upstanding business to this community. Cars and vans are parked all over, the building appears to be under construction but has show no progress and the overall appearance is slovenly. The people who work in the building are pleasant and get the job done but I feel badly that they have to work in such a messy, non professional workplace. It is hard to believe that they are getting away with this in Grosse Pointe! read more

1 star for the mail delivery. I live in Detroit but have grosse Pointe mail carriers so i dont know if they just dont like delivering to the OTHER side of Mack or not....But I used to be a mail carrier and we NEEDED ALL MAIL BACK IN THE OFFICE BEFORE THE 5:00 TRUCK PICKED UP THE OUTGOING MAIL......I sometimes dont receive my mail untill 6:30... Its ALWAYS a new mail carrier and sometimes they skip my house when i even have outgoing mail... i clearly have a mailbox but rheu sometimes shove it in my door? Makes no sence. (I on several occasions received mail thats not to my address (AND MY MAIL IS OPENED AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK) THIS IS A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY......NOT OK! THE OTHER 2 STARS GO TO THE INSIDE FRONT DESK SERVICE...I get my stamps there, complained...(postmaster never dose anything to fix the problems) and ship packages since the carriers wont pick them up... just not a good post office and no answers to questions.... not good. read more

Best post office in the Detroit Area - I love this place. There's always a line, but it moves quickly, and the employees actually seem invested in good customer service. Parking on the street, and parking in a dedicated lot adjacent to the building on Mack Avenue. Good supply of packing materials available, and also a good supply of boxes for rent at reasonable rates. If you are a box holder, you can have parcels from FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. delivered to the physical address of the post office, where the parcel will be stored in the back area, and a pick-up notice will be put in your box upon receipt by the personnel here at the post office. That's quite convenient. Decent hours, and open on Saturday until 3 PM as well. read more

Always really long lines here and usually just one maaaaybe two people working them. It's been frustrating. They really need more staff. The staff here is kinda hit and miss. Some of them are helpful but most just seem frazzled, overworked and underpaid. To be fair I wouldn't want to work at a post office either Sometimes I go over to the St. Claire Shores office just to avoid the feeling of the one here. We have informed delivery and there have been many times when we don't received the pieces of mail we were suppose to that day (or week). When our regular mailman, who is wonderful by the way, is not working or on vacation, there is a different person everyday and often times delivers the mail to the wrong house. Many times neighbors down the block are giving me my mail that was delivered to their house. I too have received mail for people who live blocks away. This post office also does not know how to handle a "hold" on mail. It's frustrating. This is not the way the mail system should operate. The St. Clair Shores Post Office is more professional and much easier to deal with. read more

This is the worst USPS i have ever been to. Every time I come in here there is a line of 10 plus customers all looking as frustrated as I am. People are walking around the back room and you can see them playing around. There is no urgency and lack of respect for customer service. If there is another USPS 20 mins away, I think it would be worth the drive. Don't waste your time here. read more

AWFUL. Constantly getting neighbors mail, having my mail delivered to my neighbors, having mail not delivered when the tracking information says it has been delivered (the carrier got lazy at the end of the day), and LOOONG lines at the counter (while the inside staff is usually friendly, they are constantly understaffed). Avoid this place and use the St. Clair Shores location. If they deliver your mail, my condolences. read more

Three strikes and you're out. In the past year I have had my mail held by using the USPS web site. That part Works great. They even send a confirmation number and remind you the day before that your mail stop is ending and whatever you requested, either pick it up yourself or just have the carrier deliver it with the regular mail. USPS can stop your mail but all three times the GP Farms Post Office does not know how to start it again. All three times I have had to call and they never seem to know where your mail might be. I have even said I would pick it up and was told no I had better not, since the carrier could have it. I usually finally get my mail by the 3rd day. Totally incompetent. And you wonder why so many people drive all the way down to 9 and Mack for postal needs. Worth the trip, but unfortunately you have to do mail hold through the post office that delivers your mail. read more

This post office truly is unimaginably horrific. I use it all the time and never have a good experience - ever. I ship a ton of etsy product and package my pieces very thoroughly and always explain that the items are fragile when asked. I am convinced when you say that - they understand that as throw this against a wall and drive a truck over it. One of every three things I ship arrive broken and I have to remake it and pay ahgain to send it. Ever try to make an insurance claim with USPS - Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha HA HA HA!!! I am going to drive the extra 15 minutes up to the St. Clair Shores USPS - never had any issues there - just a lot longer to get there - but have no other choice. 8( read more

I think it is this USPS post offices requirement that they hire the most unprofessional, unapologetic people, who not only DO NOT GIVE AF what your complaint is, but on the rare occasion the do listen, don't ever expect that something will be done about it. Owning a business, I receive a lot of packages. Actually what I should say is I am at the post office picking up my packages because they are too lazy, don't care, or are ALWAYS on their phones while they deliver the mail- that I almost never receive my packages, I instead receive a "sorry we missed you" note, and when I open the door and confront them about the note, they don't actually have the package physically on them. It's at the post office. They are allowed to pick and choose what mail they want to deliver, and the rest is up to you. So good luck. I have had packages sent back because I did not pick them up. Why didn't I you ask? Well, that would be because I never received a note saying I had a package to begin with. So now I must pay double shipping because the A hole lazy people at the post office don't do the job they are paid to do. Also when I have tracked my shipping, it will state that my package can't be delivered because of my entrance to my home being blocked. That would be code for 'I'm a lazy piece of crap who refuses to do my job" The USPS needs to clean house at this location. And don't even get me started on how me and my neighbors have to have a pow wow in the street to do a mail swap, because F it, as long as its in someones mail box. read more
