Jimmy did my nails and rushed through them the entire time. He actually made one of my cuticles bleed, and didn't say a word. I have really bad anxiety and couldn't bring myself to speak up about the issue, although I know I should have. He seemed to ease up a bit after the blood. Although there wasn't much blood, just a drop, it makes me wonder what disinfecting practices they use. He returned the file back to the mini altoids container with the rest of the file tips afterwards. The prices here are cheap and they have decent reviews, which is what led me here in the first place. The service I received was sub par, I felt rushed the entire time and not welcomed or appreciated as a customer. Once I returned home I spent 30 minutes filing my nails because they were so crooked. I am not much of a talker myself, but not being spoken to for the entire appointment is odd. I am not one to complain or write reviews, but my experience was quite disappointing. Even though the service I received sucked I still have a 25% tip. Instead of spending $40 for acrylics and gel, I would've had a better experience putting Walmart nails on myself. Cannot even get an appointment. Obviously, they are understaffed at the desk. I called 4 times within an hour and spent upward of 5 minutes on hold each time. They are too busy for my business and it is disrespectful to waste my time, which is important to me. Either staff more people to cover your customer base or change the appointment system. If I could give this place negative stars I would. The new building is very nice and the pedicure area is very nice. The pedicure experience was completely horrible. For some reason all technicians seasoned or not have to finish at the same time. No matter what part of the process the tech may be at they have to catch up to the one that's ahead. The lights were turned off the middle of my tech cutting the cuticle off the nail and she had to stop. In turn you get a half done pedicure, and skipped steps. Rushed polishing with streaks and bubbles. The worst part is that the front desk blamed the tech for being "newer". It had nothing to do with that poor girl. Then she says they work in rounds and have to finish at the same time. That is the worst policy I've heard of for a pedicure. My feet look like my 3 war old polished them. Very disappointed and poor customer service. I called this morning to make an eyebrow waxing appointment. They asked me if I can come in at 2:15. I drove 30+ minutes and checked into my appointment ten minutes early. I was told to take a seat and someone will be with me shortly. At 2:15, I saw another customer walking into the wax room and I figured I was next in line. Shortly after, I was called up by the receptionist and told that they could no longer fulfill my appointment because other customers asked if they could add on waxing after their nail service. I was flabbergasted. The receptionist asked if I could come in around 4 pm and I disclosed to her that I had to work. She said nothing and said there was nothing she could do unless I wanted to make a new appointment. I didn't want to make a scene in front of the full waiting room but I was upset that they honored other customers' special last-minute requests over my original appointment. I called and asked to speak to a manager and they informed me one is not around so I left my name and number and I never heard back. My husband gave me a gift certificate for a mani-pedi and I went for the first time. I'm somewhat new to the area and was excited about checking this place out. Perhaps because they have been voted the "Best Nail Salon" in Kenosha 6 years in a row I had higher expectations for customer service and friendliness in general. When I walked in there were 3 women working at the front and they were laughing and didn't even say hello to me. I checked in and they were not very welcoming of even showed me where to pick out the nail polish. I saw another customer walk in and go over to polish so I picked out my colors and waited. Most reviewers on here really enjoy the "dark" pedicure room but I find it odd. They say it is for relaxation and there are signs that say silence please and I was at the very end but there were 2 customers talking to each other the entire time I was in there, how relaxing is that? The pedicure itself was awesome and the employee that did it was very nice and very experienced and other than the dark room I enjoyed it. The hot oil massage and warm towels felt amazing! After the pedicure I had the gel manicure with the same employee again it was good and I liked it. This place does offers a cash discount which is great but since I had a gift card I couldn't get the cash discount. Also another thing about her gift card that I found odd was that if you do not use it within 6 months it loses value. I thought that was very odd that there was a time limit to use it and they start losing value. Overall, I was satisfied with my pedicure and manicure and would go back if in the area but I wasn't blown away by the customer service of the unfriendly front desk and dark so called relaxing pedicure room. read more

My girlfriend was going here for a couple months, really liked Johnny and made good conversation with him every time. Her nails broke multiple times only days after getting them done and she went for a fix with no problem. Today, she wasn't happy with a single nail because it was misshapen and varied in thickness. She went back to fix that ONE nail. Johnny did a complete 160 and was extremely rude and argumentative in front of clients and staff. He humiliated her and she was left crying. She asked for them to take her nails off and to be refunded to which they agreed but then backtracked on their word. It was a horrible experience for her and so much fuss for a single nail that should've just been done without question. You act so nice until someone asks you to fix what YOU screwed up. If someone isn't happy with their nails, even if you "don't see the problem" you still owe them good customer service. No apologies, no remorse, NOTHING. I always try to come here when I'm in town. The ambience is great, and my nails always look great when i leave. Today I had a bit of an offsetting experience that I thought was handled poorly by management. I had a new girl who was struggling with my shellac manicure. I'm not a picky person and loved that she asked for help when it seemed to be taking long. I was actually very impressed that the manager came over and said she would finish it so that it would look great. I was satisfied with the end product but it took two hours. (had a pedicure also). The owner also realized what was going on and came over to see what was going on. As someone who works in customer service i was playing out all the scenarios that would happen when i left. To be quite honest none of the good ones happened. Our world is competitive and good customer service is expected. If a manicure takes 1.5 hours I would expect a discount. My time is valuable also, if anything i would expect a coupon for my next visit. Something telling me that I'm a valued customer and we appreciate you. I'm all for giving people experience which is why i never mind having new people- i was new in my job once too. I was disappointed in the management not demonstrating good customer service. I have come off and on here for about 6 years. However I just recently came with my husband who was a first timer. He absolutely loved the service (both of us received a pedicure) as did I. We were heading out on vacation to the beach the next day for a week. The clear coat that my husband received did not hold up after 2 days. Good thing I brought along my own nail polish that was close to what I originally chose at the salon, because mine began to peel after 3 days. This is the best in Kenosha county for a reason! I generally only get pedicures but have gotten manicures as well and I am always satisfied with the results. Being a dancer and having extremely callused feet and busted toe nails they really take care of my feet and transform them into looking brand new every time. Also if I have a hang nail they take care of it or have one of their co workers fix it. Very clean and relaxing place. Going here is a true treat and always a great place to unwind. read more

This place is absolutely terrible. They polished everyone's nails so far from the cuticle they look a week grown out. I tried explaining I wanted mine painted all the way up to the root of my cuticle so my whole nail was painted and he didn't even do it after I repeatedly asked. And not only did I leave with a paint job that looks like a kid drew on my nails with a sharpie but the shape is unflattering and crooked. I could've done a way better job myself. Been here twice now and it's been awesome each time. Love the hot oil massage. I almost fall asleep every time! I usually bring my own polish to any place I go but I do like how they have their swatches and selection displayed. You can find a color on a fake nail and find the bottle by the number on the back of the nail. Each bottle has an accompanying number. A lot more accurate way to know what color you are getting. Made my friend's decision a lot easier and faster. Can't wait to come back next month :-) read more

My go to place for a relaxing pedicure. Last time I went I added on the 30 minute reflexology massage and thought I died and went to heaven! I don't think I'll be able to get a regular pedicure ever again. The pedicure room is awesome, I love that there is no talking and the darkness and waterfall were a great touch. On February 27th, I visited this salon with my mother in law for each of us to have a manicure. She got gel polish with French tips, they were beautiful and she seemed very happy with them. I got gel polish in a solid color. I thought that my manicure was good, although the technician did clip me a little on one finger and it bled for some time. That worried me, but ended up being fine. The polish did get all over the place, and I had some all over a couple of my fingers. The manicure lasted a good week and a half, then one of the nails had the polish peel completely off. I think that was kind of my fault though. All in all, my experience wasn't bad but I did find a better place this week. One thing that did bother me though was that the women sitting at the reception desk were just plain rude. I don't even know how to describe them exactly. This mani/pedi was so calming and relaxing because of the ambiance. I really liked that you had to be quiet when getting a pedicure because I am not the most outgoing person, so it allowed me not to have to engage in a forced always conversation. My first experience here was awful... New set of nails and they looked awful!! Lady was SO rude. My nails were all thick and uneven. They lifted in 3 days! I called and complained. Unfortunately, they don't all speak good English. They put me in with another tech and they did a much better job, but they have buffed my nails to where they are now thinner than Saran Wrap. I still had a problem with lifting after only a few days. Today, I went for my appointment and I was 10 minutes late. They gave my time away. Honestly if this is the best in Kenosha..... I had scheduled a walk-in on the previous Thursday for both a manicure and pedicure. The receptionist at the Green Bay location was very kind to allow me to come in last minute as the other location was fully booked that evening. The woman who did my pedicure did an amazing job. Very polite and accommodating. My manicure was a different story.. I had wished to have tips put on, so the original technician placed me with a different one. The tech who happened to be gentleman close to my age, sat me at a different station and proceeded working on my nails. As he began, we started small talk.. He inquired of the 3 small dots I have tattooed on my finger - asking if they had any meaning. I responded, "no". He too had 3 dots tattooed between his pointer finger and thumb located on his left hand. I too asked the question - "what do your dots mean?" He replied, "If I told you I'd have to kill you".. As he continued working on my nails, I happened to glance at my phone. He then proceeded to inform me, "Did you know it's illegal to be on your phone while getting your nails done?". I had replied, "Oh, is this a rule you have?". "Yeah, you can ask the front desk when you leave", he said. "The only way you can be on your phone is when you're exchanging your number with the nail technician", he inappropriately continued. I didn't exactly know what to say as I was a little taken back. It didn't stop there.. Upon placing on the tips, he had asked how short I would like my nails to be. I stated, "As short as you can go". "I like adding tips that way my nails are all the same length". Thinking he was funny, he adds, "What if I were to file them crooked?". I replied, "Then I guess you're not receiving a tip". "You don't have to pay me, you have to pay the salon", he continued. "You also don't have to give me a tip, but you can give me something else". I was at a loss for words as I have never felt more disrespected and uncomfortable.. ever. I didn't know whether to throat punch him, storm out, or just cry.. Instead, still trying to process what he just said, I replied, "Excuse me?!" as he ignorantly repeated himself. In silence, I allowed him to continue his work knowing I wasn't going to give him a dime of my money.. He STILL had the nerve to continue provoking me with his disgusting remarks as I was looking above at the TV as he too glanced up to see what I was watching. He asked me, "What are you watching?" Irritated, I replied, "The news". "Do you want me to shut it off?" "Not really", I replied. "Well, I think I should so you can talk to me"... Finally, after what seemed like forever, my nails were done. Not so much to my surprise, as I was getting ready to leave a pretty, young, blonde woman walked towards the restrooms.. this pig nearly breaks his neck looking her up and down as she went passed.. SMH! Do you ever sit and process a past argument or situation that fired you up to no end? To where in that very moment you're at a loss for words, but once you "come to" and fully processed everything - you kick yourself for not saying all the things you should have said to begin with?? This is the exact feeling I had leaving the salon. I should've left in the middle of him working on my nails. I should have told someone. I should have stood up for myself.. for myself and for every other woman who has been disrespected by a SICK, IGNORANT human such as this "man". I'm happy with my nails, but I'm beyond disgusted with the service I received.. with how he made me feel. Completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I will NEVER step foot in that facility again.. If I was rating this place on the pedicure alone, it would be 5 stars. The service was great, very relaxing, wonderful foot massage. I was so excited I found this place!! My gel manicure was horrendous. While the man doing the manicure was nice, within 1 day 3 of the nails popped off, and within 2 days over half of the nails popped up and off. I called and they apologized and agreed to credit my account for the gel nails. I came in and when I said I was there for my gel manicure, the woman said "no, a gel polish correction." I didn't know they were different? They agreed to re-do it, but only if I used the exact same color and polish as the first time (I requested a different polish, because obviously the previous one was either old or horrible), otherwise I would have to pay a "color change fee???" I don't even know what that would be. I should have asked the amount, but the idea of it was bizarre enough. The polish does not cost more because it is a different color. The woman at the desk made me feel like I was trying to get something for free or take advantage, when in reality if you pay $65+ for a pedicure and "no-chip" your polish should not come off within 2 days. The re-do was better, but didn't even last a week. I won't be returning. read more

This is a wonderful place. The pedicure room is so relaxing. I drive from Racine because my manicurist is just that good! As a healthcare worker I wash my hands a lot and am wearing gloves all day. A regular polish doesn't last the day. Gel polish manicures from other places I've tried start chipping or lifting after a week or less. Truly a delight to walk into utopia. Every woman has a fear that the service they receive will not be up to standards but I walk in knowing that my hands and feet are in good hands. The atmosphere is unmatched, especially at Utopia 2. King is my favorite but I don't always schedule early enough to get him. I am starting to notice a few manicurist could use more training. They are ok but not great. Not sure if management stopped paying attention to the quality or training aspect. My daughter and I went for pedicures and no-chip manicures. While I have been here before and had decent service, I wasn't impressed this time. My daughter and I were seated next to each other during the pedicures. I agree with the review given by Marlys S. on 10/26/2014. Our nail techs seemed to be joking around and racing with each other during our pedicures. It's that feeling you get when you catch someone laughing at you behind your back. If you're thinking about coming here, STAY AWAY! I have been getting my nails done for about 10 years and have gone to multiple salons. My boyfriend lives in the area and I needed to get my nails done, since they had good reviews and were Best in Kenosha I decided to go here. Now I don't want people to thinking I'm super picky, I'm in the customer service industry and am very understanding to circumstances. I came in on a Wednesday morning shortly after they had opened. I needed a fill and had to re paint the shellac. The staff seemed very unprofessional. The lady who was doing my nails barely said anything to me. She kept on cutting my cuticles when she was taking off the old shellac. The fill took FOREVER to do. Once she started doing the shellac, it was like it was her first time ever painting nails. She was concentrating so hard. My boyfriend's 8 year old daughter could have done a better job. The edges of the polish weren't straight against my cuticle at all. The lines were extremely un-even. The polish quality also was bubbly and it left streaks on almost every nail, along with her not even getting to the whole nail. I was so not happy. Afterwards, the shellac started to chip almost instantly. The reason why I get shellac is for it to last but my nails looked embarrassing. As for the atmosphere, I was also not very impressed. It seemed as if the place was not put together at all. There was one lady who was getting a pedicure. The technician had moved the desk over in the aisle and the lady had to put her foot on the technicians knee in order for her to paint her toe nails. Not too much in that place seemed professional. I was leaving to go out of town in the afternoon though and couldn't dedicate any more time, as it already took over an hour for a simple fill and polish. When I went up to pay, I don't know what all these reviewers are saying about a cash discount because I certainly didn't get one. It was almost $50 without tip for the fill and polish which is absolutely ridiculous when looking this horrible. Don't get me wrong...I don't have a problem with paying for a good job but this was pitiful. I would've seriously given this place zero stars if it was possible.
