I just had the worst pedicure I've ever had and I've been a loyal V&V patron. To start they sit me in a chair that was broken and had to move me. The new chair they put me in was disgusting. The chair itself was dirty (no way it was sanitized) and the tub had filth in it. Women's hair, other stuff - don't want to know. In fact I noticed that in general the entire salon is GROSS and needs a deep clean. I was grossed out enough that I asked her to wipe the tub down before I put my feet on it. Now the pedicure. She painted my toenails and THEN wanted to wash them, trim the cuticles which was beyond bizarre. She painted all over my toes, and they're now stained red with polish (I know this will wash away, but annoying). I always skip the massage because there's nothing relaxing about it, in fact I've always found them painful. As a result they've only ever charged me $35 which I think is fair. But today she charged the full $41 for a terrible uncomfortable pedicure that looks awful. I have to say that management needs a deep thorough clean because Covid or not it's gross. Where do I begin..... I have not been to this salon in probably 3 yrs and thought I would give it another try. They have online booking which I did like as it's convenient however they do not post prices. I walked it at 10am and someone asked what I was here for -- a regular manicure appt. After what seemed like 2-3 minutes they had me sit at a station. The nail tech again asked me what I wanted and then said Shellac, I said no it doesn't work on my nails, it peels off within 1-2 days. She continued to try to up sell me to Shellac, Dip powder even though I told her it never works on my nails. She then said Acrylic nails it will last a month. I asked the price and turned her down again. She brought it up one more time on the price for fills which seemed very expensive compared to other places around. I felt berated with the continued asking and attitude she was giving me. After that she had no interest in speaking with me, and seemed to be scowling at me throughout the session. She proceeded to get up to help others, answer the phone. Even when she had only 2 nails to finish with top coat she pulled her cell phone from the drawer and starting texting someone. There was no hand washing, no massage, her cleaning and trimming my cuticles actually was uncomfortable and hurt at times. She put lotion on the top of my hands and forearms after my nails were painted and wet. When it cam time to pay I stood there watching approx 4 ladies standing around in the back. I (over) paid for the service and left without any greeting goodbye, or thank you. Will not be returning and I see why they have 2.5 stars out of 178 reviews. read more

I visited here for the first time last weekend to get my nails done with Katelyn. The place is located right across the street from where I live. Katelyn came highly recommended by my neighbor, so I wanted to give her a try. I had solar tips put on and I wanted ombre nails. I assumed that I was getting a manicure as well, but she did not clean my cuticles up at all. I showed her the picture of exactly what I wanted. It took her about 45 minutes to do the whole job and she was working on two other people while I was sitting there waiting. It was very busy in there, but she didn't take her time whatsoever. And what I got was not what I wanted at all. It was a really sloppy job. I kept telling her that I didn't want long nails and I ended up with long nails afterI told her three times to cut them shorter and she didn't listen. My nails are way too thick and the paint job is awful. For the price I paid for this plus tip, I was really unhappy and I will never go there again. I also told the guy behind the front counter, that I wanted to leave an $8 dollar tip. I had to leave something, and he wound up charging me $12 for the tip, since he did it for me, which I thought was really strange, but I didn't question it. Never ever again. I waisted 170$ on this absolute nightmareWhat a absolutely HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I haven't been to the salon since 2015. I decided to take my adorable 9yr old daughter on a mommy daughter date. Mani n pedis. The woman who did my daughters nails was wonderful and kind. The woman who did my nails, started off kind quickly turned south when SHE MESSED UP. The first picture is what i wanted but green. The second picture is the absolute horror she sent me home with. Don't worry i made her fix them... the next morning! The problem started when she forgot i wanted matte and asked me if I'd be ok with the shinny she did.... i looked her dead in the face, what??? This ain't Walmart, no I'm not happy! So she said she'd try to fix it. Got all sorts of pissed even after i apologized over and over for HER mistake. THENNNNN when we came back the next morning she made them semi better we changed the color, but she was rude, didn't paint them properly and left spots/bubbles in each nail. Don't even get me started on my half assed pedicure. I will never go to this place again! I really wish i could get my money back. Happy with my nail colors and look but unhappy with service. Came in for a gel manicure. The woman doing my nails did not trim my cuticles or do any of the normal pre polish prep that is done at other salons. I had to ask her to trim my cuticles. She did my nails and they look good but then said "ok all done." Normally there is also a hand massage at the end of a manicure. I asked about that and she said "oh,ok," and proceeded to give me one. As I was checking out, I noticed there was a bar with a row of beverages. She noticed me noticing them and asked "oh would you like something?" Normally it's something asked before you begin, as you sit down. I've been trying to find a good nail place in Hillsboro and while I'm happy with my nails, I'm really disappointed in the service. In the future I would expect 1. The technician to offer a beverage when I arrive if they have them 2. To trim my cuticles and get my nails ready for the polish 3. And I love its location but the girls are rude rough and un trained... today the girl was clearly new. She didn't even know how to put the liner and get the water going without a lot of help (maybe I should have bailed right then, but hey everyone has to start some where...or so I hoped). She never really talked to me. A small whisper and I guessed a few things by what she was pointing at. Never up selling to the deluxe pedicure. Not even her name... when she cut my nails she didn't use a regular cutter instead the small cuticle scissors, so my big toes are very jagat and uneavin. She handled my toes pinching and pulling in unnatural ways and angles. She even cut my middle toe while working on it... she dropped polish everywhere, even leaving some on my big toe... My last visit. Went in for a typical gel manicure and regular pedicure. It started off nice, since the place wasn't as busy I've I've seen it before and I could sit and relax. Nope. I was twisted into a pretzel by one tech handing my pedicure and another my gel while standing. They put the drying light on my lap? It was awkward and I kept thinking the light was going to slip into my pedicure water. I chose colors, like usual a nice nude shade for my hands. When the tech finished one hand I took a look, it was clear with sparkle glitter? I told her that wasn't the color I chose and she tried to convince me, "it's so pretty". She then retrieved my original color and painted right over the glitter. Wow. The pedicure tech spent half her time TEXTING. In between text she would try to up-sell me on leg scrub, extra massage, and shellac for my toes - her reason - Because when I'm outside, I'll get mud under my nails. Interesting how shellac is MUD repellent. I didn't want anything extra, I wanted to get out of there. Spent $66 on a gel manicure and regular manicure. When i asked for the breakdown, she wouldn't explain it. I paid for the work. This place is close to home, and I've been a few times. Each visit has been similar. I got a gel manicure here today and overall I'm pretty pleased with the result. They did nail filing, cuticle trimming, then a base coat, color, and top coat, and ended with a quick lotion arm and hand massage. They put a bit of cuticle oil on at the end. My nails look great now! I think one thing they could improve upon is more moisturizing of the nails/nail beds. I have really dry nails and they got even more dried out when my old nail polish was removed at the beginning, and by the end they were a little better but still not quite as moisturized as I would have liked. But overall I think they did a great job. read more

A little disclaimer. I've been going here for a while this is my second pedicure. I'm leaving a 3 star simply because the women who did my toes was very nice and she did a good job my toes looked cute at first. However, my right big toe has been swollen and I'm pain and today I got a confirmation from the doctor that my toe is indeed infected. Considering I'm a diabetic this is very concerning for me. I worry they may not have cleaned properly or maybe it's the fact the nice lady fucking duggg into my toes lol whatever the reason it sucks. Went to get my dip removed. I have been getting gel/dip for years, and a soak off/ file off is normal. They ripped my dip off with pliers and using a nail tip. My nails hurt so bad..... I only paid because I was in shock. Had to cut them all short when I got home. Well.... Guess I have to wait for my nails to completely grow out to get them done again :)! FUCKING TORTURE. This was the worst pedicure I've ever had, and I've been to some shitty salons in moments of desperation. Yes, they have a lot of chairs. Yes, they wear these vests giving them a nice, uniform look. And yes, they wear their bluetooth headsets and yap away while plucking fiercely at your cuticles. I promise they're talking shit about you. The torture lasted 15 minutes. The massage lasted about 90 seconds. My friend and I sat down at the same time. I stuck my feet in and the water was SCALDING hot. I said something and both women ignored me. I am very pale, so I took one foot out and the portion of my legs and feet that were in the water turned red. I mean fire engine red. She laughed and said, "Oh - you very white. You turn pink." No, be-otch. I burn. She stuck her fingers in the water and immediately retracted them, but did NOTHING to adjust the water temperature. So now that my feet were completely sensitive, she starts plucking at my cuticles and looks away while doing it. Then she takes another tool and jams them back as hard as she can. She gets up 4 times, and my friend's right next to me getting massaged. She got a snack, she went to the bathroom, she got a drink of water, she went to check her face. Then I was rushed out of the chair way before my friend was. I sat there with the stupid fans blowing on my feet for 2 seconds, then they come over and touch your polish to see if it's dry. What if it didn't dry in those 2 seconds? After they paint your nails, they stick your feet in the wax. Yes, after. How is that sanitary? It wasn't hot enough to kill germs from someone else's funky feet. I said whatever. I was charged extra for everything, and given no choice. My nail place at least tells you how much things are, and I can say, "No thank you." This place blows hardcore. read more

I've gone here for years and years and noticed it going downhill with prices rising but this takes the cake. He wanted me to go back after I waited 40 minutes even with appt made and having spent an hour and a half there already. The right answer would have been let's make this right. Quite possibly my worst manicure experience ever. The atmosphere is cheap and depressing. The manicurist didn't use my nail kit and tugged so hard on my cuticles I actually yelped a few times - ouch! Her filing skills weren't any less painful. There was no hand massage (which is customary at other salons I've been to). She started applying the nail color without a base coat; it was only when I asked why that she applied base coat to the remaining nails. Her color application was so sloppy, she had to spend more time cleaning up the edges than she did on the application itself. The end result doesn't look as awful as I was anticipating given how shoddy the process was, but it still isn't stellar. And the manager insisted that NOBODY gets "regular" manicures any more, which is why they offer only gel polishes. I still got a "regular" manicure with the gel polish, but it was odd how she kept pushing the gel finish (see others' reviews, which confirm this is an ongoing problem). Then she proceeded to GET a manicure from one of the other workers. (The place was empty other than me.) I'll never go back. Okay so I have heard good things about this place. And it's close to my house so I thought I'd check it out. I walked in on a Sunday and it was super busy.. Which I figured was a good thing. I waited about half hour.. Half that in a chair.. I didn't mind. My pedi was great and polish is still looking great two days later.. Well for the mani that's a whole different thing. She was a older women.. So I figured she has lots of experience. I got a white top shellac mani. The thing I found strange was the way she did it. She did two coats of clear which both went under the light for a short time then the white tips she did with regular nail polish and then once more layer of clear shellac over it. It looked great after but the next day.. Monday.. The tips were already starting to peel off. And now Tuesday, every single finger, the polish is coming off. The white on two fingers is already off. I have never in my life had this happen. And spending 55 dollars total.. 65 after tip, I am going to go back and get it redone.. A color this time.. And it better be for free. I'm hesitant though because I don't want it to be ruined in two days again. Wish me luck. read more

She did not use my nail kit and the manicure tools she used were not in any cleaning solution and appeared dirty. I should have walked out but I was just so stunned. The gal was distracted by chatting with other employees and texting on her phone. My nails were filed unevenly and she never asked my opinion on shape or results. I had a really good experience here. I came in on a whim and got in right away for a mani/pedi. Surprisingly the same gal that did my nails at Paradise is working at V and V and was able to do my nails. She always does a fantastic job. Pricing is typical. $25 for a regular pedicure or for $5 extra you can get the parafin. The place is very clean and all the ladies are friendly. LOTS of work stations so they can accomodate a lot of customers which is always nice and you rarely have to wait. Great services - I would recommend this place! read more

Updated review: I'm new to the area, so I had to find out which place would be my "go to" nail salon. I had to endure horrible results from various other salons in the area, which sucked because they in fact had great yelp reviews. This place I first thought was consistent, but now I've changed my mind. The last 5 times I've gone, my shellac manicure only lasted 2 days before peeling and chipping off. What I like about the place is that it's big, clean, there are many workers, the massage chairs are decent, and they offer complimentary beverages of your choice * including wine :) The color selection is standard, and shellac has a very minimal, basic selection of colors. The kind they use doesn't require excessive sanding down to remove, and comes off easily with acetone. Thus my nails have remained strong and healthy. I appreciate that they don't try and push other services on their customers, as has been my experience before at other places. However, I do wish their standard pedicure paid a little more attention to detail, like with a better scrub or perhaps paraffin. This place can get busy, and therefore I would recommend going in with an appointment if you are short on time. I noticed people complained about feeling rushed, or feeling like the staff wasn't friendly. I can see how people say that. I know these ladies work under some pressure at times, but I've observed plain and simple rudeness to their customers. Personally, I've always felt they have been friendly with me, and time efficient, with mostly good results. Once, I had to wait because they were so busy, and I felt ignored, so I left. Another time, the owner lady asked me to write a good review on yelp and Google plus, which I did, but I was turned off that I was asked to do so. Overall, I've given this place a fair chance by going multiple times, despite increasing inconsistency in their attention to detail, and in the durability of my shellac manicure. I don't know why it has decreased in quality, I was thinking maybe they over-cook the shellac on my nails, by making me use the light for three times in a row, per coat. Either way, I'll be going to a different salon. I'll be willing to go back here if I'm desperate, and give them yet another shot. read more

I asked for a full set and was convinced to do just a fill. eventually, Mindy my nail lady told me my nails weren't all the same lengths. which is why i originally wanted a full set. after getting a french tip, you can see the previous nail underneath and my french. it looks absolutely terrible and has bumps on every nail. i also got diamonds and was told she would take the price of that off to compensate for her mistakes. when i was charged she changed her mind and continued to argue with me. never visiting again!! highly do not recommend!! read more

I LOVE this nail salon. Everyone here is sooooo nice!!! It's a very clean and organized place. There are a lot of colors to choose from. They have large flat screen TV's you can watch while getting your nails done and their deluxe pedicures are AWESOME!!!! You get a complimentary beverage as well... which is really nice.
