If you take the time to schedule an appointment, they honor it. There's no five- to fifteen-minute wait because they've tried to squeeze someone else in, which I've experienced at other salons. I have been coming to this salon for about seven years for pedicures. In the beginning the staff was friendly and the experience was relaxing. Over the last few years the environment has changed, and the constant upselling has become frustrating. I only come in for pedicures. That has always been clear. I do not want manicures or gel nails. Despite saying no every single visit, the technician who usually works on me continues to push nail services every time I come in. This has been happening for three to four years. The answer has always been no. Yet the pressure continues during every appointment. Because I'm so frustrated with the constant sales pressure, I've even stopped going as often so I don't have to hear them nag about this all the time. During my most recent visit, the technician even told me that my husband would leave me if I did not do my nails. That comment was inappropriate and completely unprofessional. That should give potential clients an idea of how much pressure they apply to get more money. At this point it feels less like customer service and more like constant pressure to spend more money. Pedicures here are already expensive. Long time customers should not feel pushed to add services they clearly do not want. I have been a loyal client for many years and I tip extremely well every visit. Unfortunately the repeated pressure and disrespect for clear boundaries have made the experience unpleasant. They only view me as a money grab. Businesses should listen to their customers. If someone says no, respect the answer. My second visit to V Nails. The shop is extremely clean and bright. They always have very soft calming spa music playing and the TV is playing scenes of natural scenes of Rivera, mountains, water, etc. in short, as I enter I am already starting to relax. I called about 15 minutes before their scheduled opening and a very sweet woman answered the phone and I was early able to make a 10 am appointment. Color and service selection are expansive, which I appreciate as some times I'm in a rush and need something quick and other times, like today it's about self-care and relaxation. The staff are very warm and welcoming and are often quiet promoting the on-going relaxation. They ask and confirm what you would like to have done. They have the standard spa chairs with massage. While many nail salons offer drinks, I appreciate the menu here also offers Vietnamese coffee as a choice. New OWNERS: I went there for a pedi. I didn't have time for polish but they have an insane amount of colors to choose from and they are organized well so you can go straight to magenta or red and get the right hue for you skin tone instead if bouncing left and right. I must have gotten a premium or deluxe because they put every kind of lotion, oil, exfoliant on my legs. It also came with parfan and they took their time massaging me!! I was recommended here by a friend and I could not have been more pleased with the quality of service. My friend and I went for much needed pedicures and V and Minnie took excellent care of our feet. The basic filing and buffing along with exfoliating, lotion and a very nice massage of calves and feet. Followed by paraffin wax and pretty polish. Nice massage chairs and beverages. The place was very clean and one of the things I loved the most was how all of the nail polishes were organized perfectly by color (I know OCD haha). It's been a while since I've been to a salon and I have very sensitive hands, so I was a little nervous, but they were great! We came for my mom's bday and got mani and pedis. It totally bums me out to have to give this place 2-stars because the staff is genuinely friendly, the place is clean and nicely maintained, and they have beer and wine... but there are some serious downsides. I've had 3 pedicures and 1 manicure here (because I like to give places a chance). I almost never get a manicure, this was for a wedding. The pedicures are where most of this review lies. Having a toddler, I pretty much only am able to do shellac these days since I generally can't get a pedicure every month like I used to, and I can leave in my own shoes (do you have any idea how hard it is to run after a toddler in those fake little flip-flops while the dog is incessantly trying to lick your toes?). That being said, when I do a pedicure, I do it right - always the big daddy spa pedicure. Sure it's more spendy, but it's worth it to me. Pedicures generally run around $30-$35 + the cost of shellac, right? So this place charges $45 for a big daddy pedi... then an additional $10 for shellac. It's a $55 pedicure + tip and honestly - it's just not worth it. The quality was fine, but it was DEFINITELY not the color I chose. When I said something (since no one there puts a stroke of the polish on and actually asks you if you like it before they complete your whole experience), the lady just said that the sun must have lightened up the sample color because they sit in the window. Neat. Now I have death toes instead of the color I'd originally picked. Back to the $45 dollar experience as opposed to the $25 one - the difference was supposed to be an extra long massage, a leg mask, paraffin foot treatment, and a hot stone massage. My girlfriend got a manicure the exact same time as I got my pedicure and we were done at the exact same time. The massage wasn't very long (or good... she just basically rubbed the lotion in my legs, no massage or anything) and the hot stone massage was maybe 2 minutes at the most! (again, she just rubbed stones on my legs, no massage or anything). To reiterate - the people are nice and friendly, the space itself is attractive and well maintained, but the cost doesn't justify the quality or experience. Worst nail experience EVER! Booked a appointment with Kevin after seeing his work on Instagram. Scheduled Friday the 7th of February Paid the 15$ deposit. A day before my appointment he text to try and reschedule me for a later time in the day due to "weather conditions" I remind him that I was also going in with my friend & asked if her appointment will also be pushed back? Then I get a reply like oh I'm sorry I ment for another day?!?! I was completely understanding and said yes, only to get on my Instagram the next day to see him post pictures of his work before & after the times we would have been scheduled. It was snowing during this time on Friday the 7th I was running errands all day & got around perfectly fine. Monday comes around and he Text again asking me to call and reschedule?!? I kindly state that I would not like to reschedule with him I would like a refund for both deposits due to the circumstances. He was willing to give me my refund & claimed that the pic was a late post from a couple days back. Which is perfectly fine it's really his word against mine he offers a free service I politely decline. Then he goes so far as to text my friend telling her I was extremely upset & if she would like a free service she politely declines. Then he goes so far as to insult the both of us saying "Ok sweet thanks! also thanks for letting me know how you guys feel...I was going to do my best to get you back in but with how your friend assumed things and getting upset over An appointment being cancel of the weather it's shows me you and her are not the kind of clients I want to have..thank you for saving me the hassle and time and cutting things off before I have to deal with your friends attitude later down the road...have a nice day and I will send you your deposits:) " (I put this picture in the photo album) I was never once rude to him I just simply stated how I felt! Letter from a disappointed boyfriend: I bought my girlfriend a Gift Card to Unique for her Birthday in February. She went to use the card on a ManiPedi today but was told that because the Salon is under new management that she would not be able to redeem. The lady at the counter wanted her to hand over the gift card for disposal and to pay full price. When questioned, the lady suddenly acted like she did not speak good English and said she had another client to attend to and walked away. So I am torn to hear all of the negative feedback when honestly Kevin is the best nail tech I've had. Not to brag but his nails are by far advanced in that his designs are acrylic, not stick on or painted. (Besides roses and gems) he does take his time but it's because he takes pride in his work. If you actually had a conversation with him you would learn that he is his biggest critic. He lets negative energy motivate him to be better so there are no more negative customers that had a misunderstanding. This is the best pedicure experience I have had, and for the best price! I love everything about Unique Nails from the chairs, to the paraffin wax that's included in the service, to the massage. Most places charge $30-35 for everything that is included in their basic pedicure which costs $20-25. The best part? The customer service! The staff remembers you even after just one visit. Now, professionalism is the worst if anything sets him off. 4 months I went to him, loved his openness, free drinks, sympathized with him on bad reviews, and fed into his gossip of his personal life. I wish I could give a higher review, more stars, but I can't. Kevin is charming and communicates extremely well, and makes you feel special by remembering your name and taking very good care of you. For this I give five stars. I am very disappointed; however, in the quality of my pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure's name was Lee and I think she is an apprentice and has not done very many pedicures. My nails were cut unevenly, the polish application is sloppy and all over my skin despite her trying to clean it up with a paintbrush and acetone. The worst part though, was that when Lee was filing my big toe nail, the edge of the file was against my skin and she filed so hard that she filed a cut in my skin so that every time she put alcohol or acetone on,it stung like the dickens and was pretty unpleasant. I've been to so many nail places that treat you like cattle and just try and get you in and out as fast as possible.
