Wasn't over impressed by the process. Can't you just give me a fully cooked pizza without wanting me to drop another $20 for a pizza stone? Stopped into V's Pizza to meet a few people for lunch. I was starving, and walked in and was greeted by the amazing smell of PIZZA (I'm sure caps aren't necessary, but I that's the sound I heard in my head). After looking at the menu I ordered the lunch special pizza, with meatballs and red sauce. It wasn't super crowded, which was a pleasant surprise. We grabbed a table and had a seat. In less than ten minutes my pizza came out piping hot. I cut a piece and bit in. The crust was light and airy, the cheese was ooey and gooey, and the meatballs were spiced to perfection. I started off with the painkiller as suggested by the bartender. It was very creamy but sweet. It was really tasty and had a perfect amount of alcohol, but if you don't like sweet drinks, not sure it would be for you. It was beautifully presented with a purple flower. Loved it! Now for the yummy pizzas!!! Keep in mind this is Italian style pizza. If you're looking for a thick crunchy crust loaded with salt and sauce, THIS IS NOT IT. I feel like any bad reviews about the pizza are because of peoples expectations. I ordered the veggie and added pepperoni. First time in V's pizza. It was a great experience. The owner was there and greeted us upon arrival. Asked what we liked and made some suggestions. We tried their wings. 1/2 plain and 1/2 Hawaiian. The Hawaiian wings had a little kick to them. I'm not a huge fan of spicy things, but they were very good. The regular wings were good as well. They had onions on top that were a nice touch and had a sweet taste. The pizza was excellent. Baked to order without any preservatives or added sugar. We got the margarita pizza. We decided to try something different last night but stick with an old favorite. I have been craving pizza for a few days and I wanted V Pizza, but we decided to try a different location. So we arranged to meet up with the niece and her boyfriend, the RN niece, my sister in-law and her boyfriend out in Jax Beach. The food doesn't disappoint and the guys had two orders of wings, the Calabrian and the Buffalo. Both orders of wings were great although I do feel the Calabrian could use a little something; salt or blue cheese dipping sauce. We also ordered a Pizza Ala Di Pollo and it was excellent. Between the three guys there were no leftovers to take home. The gals ordered this massive, sharable, drink called The Scorpion. See the picture in the review, it was a spectacle for sure. For food they ordered a Caesar salad and a Caprese Plate. The salad came out right away, but the Caprese took forever. They either forgot the order or didn't have all of the ingredients and had to have someone run to the store, but it didn't arrive until almost the end of the meal. The gals also ordered a standard pepperoni pizza as well as a Pizza Vegetariana (gluten free). The Pizza Vegetariana never arrived and my wife had to remind them of the order. The wait staff insisted she put the order in, but by the time that pizza arrived the rest of us was done eating. My wife was very upset. When the pizza did arrive it was not gluten free, as ordered. My wife can eat gluten, it is that she is gluten intolerant. My niece on the other hand can not have gluten at all. Very disappointing for sure. We were not charged for the Vegetariana pizza, but it doesn't make up for my niece not being able to eat. You could say it was busy at the location, but when we arrived and placed our order it was not busy. The location became much more busy as the evening lingered. read more

Disclaimer: Rating is based on today's experience only. Used to love this place. Was one of my favorite pizza places but today the pizza was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Called in the order and brought it home. They said it'd take 25-35 minutes. We arrived at the 25 minute mark and drove home (less than 5 minutes away). Opened the box at home and noticed these things : 1. Pizza is smaller than it used to be 2. Less toppings than what it used to have 3. It was burnt on one side, burnt on the bottom, and all pieces tasted burnt 4. It was COLD Prior to ordering this pizza we were having a discussion with some friends about the best pizza around. One person had never had V Pizza, and we were bragging about how amazing it was (but hadn't had it in months). So we ordered this to prove how good it is. Based on this pizza and the hot sauce that they now charge $1.25 for (and its also not nearly as good or hot as it used to be) V no longer makes the cut. So sad. Upon further discussion with others, we are not the only ones with recent disappointment with V. read more

My husband and I had the Carnivora pizza, which is San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, pancetta, soppressata, sausage red onions, garlic, fresh basil and it was AMAZING. In my opinion, everything was made to perfection; the dough was soft but not chewy; they were cheap with the toppings and the pizza was hot. This is hands down my favorite pizza in Jacksonville and this location is the one I prefer over the one that's closer to me. The ambiance is relaxed and even festive if you sit on the bar side called Flask and cannon which is where we like to sit. Service is quick and if you get pizza you will get the best crust in my opinion as they are cooked in about 3 minutes in their wood burning ovens. I also love that they don't use sauce but crushed San marzano tomatoes which just give the pizza a fresh taste like no other. I had the linguine with meatballs this time and it was delicious as well.
