Vail Pizzeria is fantastic! I own an operate a local preschool in the area. I stopped in to speak with the owner Bob about bringing my munchkins in for a field trip. The owner said he would love to work with me. We could not have had a better time! My preschoolers had a great time learning all about the pizza industry and they we're able to make their own pizza. If you don't like to decide on toppings they have in house specialties. Wow! I'm impressed. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened. I love that whole square so I figured it'd be fantastic and it didn't let me down. The two people working were so nice and courteous. I had the red sauce (so good!!!), with spinach, bell peppers, and olives. It came out amazing! This a create your own pizza style place, similar to pieology and blaze. You pick your dough, I choose cilantro dough which only had a slight cilantro taste to it but was good. Then of course select your cheese and ingredients they throw it in the wood fire oven and enjoy. Pizza was cooked just right, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall good pizza, not much to differentiate itself from others but will probably be back. read more

I was here yesterday afternoon 7/31/23 after seeing a post on their Instagram page advertising their pizza, and we decided to stop by for dinner. When i walked in, i immediately regretted it because there were flies and mosquitoes flying all around. The young lady who was making our pizzas was rude and not welcoming. I walked in, saying "hello" and she cut me off, saying I WILL BE RIGHT WITH YOU. She never said another word after that, even whil making our pizzas. Another lady came out from the back who was much nicer to charge us. But once i got the pizzas, my veggie pizza was not fully baked and all the vegetables were raw and hard still. I didn't feel comfortable eating it being that it wasn't fully baked and there were flies all around the restaurant. So ultimately it was a waste of money & the atmosphere was very unwelcoming. Waited for over 40 mins with my children for our pizzas, watching many large parties get their pizza orders ahead of us. I asked if our order was coming up and told it was about to come only to wait longer and watch more orders go ahead. Received no apology, just handed our pizzas. Horrible customer service! Really disappointed after seeing all the positive reviews. We will never go back to this place. The pizza was ok. The wings were cold when given to us. The service was horrible. Walked in and walked over to the counter and the kid just stares at us. We ask to place a order and he says "well what do you want. There are 5 other employees just standing there. None of these people want to help you or work with any urgency these employees are not happy to be there and you can tell none of them are being held accountable for providing good customer service. Great concept, high quality ingredients and tasty food. They have three different dough options, plenty of sauces and toppings. The biggest difference to me between Vail and the other build your own pizza concepts was definitely the cheese and crust. Crust is slightly thicker (but still crispy) and the cheese is gooey perfection. read more

Excellent place for FRESH pizza. Staff was helpful and polite. Unlimited toppings and sauce on a medium pizza for $8.99. Few beers on tap. Some local, some not. Keg was probably overcharged because I got a lot of head in the Sculpin he poured. No biggie, it's a pizza joint, not a world class bar. Crust and ingredients all tasted fresh. We just recently moved to Temecula and visited Vail pizzeria for the first time this evening. First of all, the staff was lovely. We walked in and Nirvana was playing which made it super awesome. The location is incredible. The pizza was super delicious! It's also a really fun place for kids. Really good! After trying Blaze Pizza 3 times I was glad I tried Vail Pizza. So much better and they actually put a normal amount of toppings on your pizza. At blaze you have to beg them numerous times and they still won't put the normal amount. At Vail they do it right the first time without having to ask. The stellar Yelp reviews and word of mouth brought us into Vail Pizzeria today. It absolutely did not meet our expectations. It's a shame because there are 3 other pizza places in town with the same concept, you build it and they cook it, so their competition is stiff and we will patronize the competition. As my husband and I sat at the uncomfortable and high bar stools waiting for our pizza, we shared the following first impressions: 1. They are inefficient. The gentlemen who used the dough compression machine could have made the line go quicker by compressing a dough as he pokes, butters, and sauces the previous. 2. They only had 2 pizzas in the oven at a time while pizzas stacked up, waiting to go next. 3. The decor is boring. Then the food came...our boys shared an order of mild buffalo wings. The mild sauce was flavorless. My husband was able to get a side of the hot sauce which my boys said was good basic buffalo sauce. My husband tried a wing and said it was cold inside. Next came our pizzas. Burned on the bottom. All we could taste was char. We took them up to be remade, which was kindly done for us. The owner was very attentive as he watched our new pizzas bake. When he brought them to us he was concerned about how we liked them. They were still burned and tasted a little charred, but not as bad. We were hungry and just told him they were fabulous because we didn't want to wait for round three. He stated they had to be that dark on the bottom so the pizza doesn't collapse when you hold it. I get it BUT it was clear the oven was too high. We've never had pizza that dark, regardless of how thin the dough is. Long story short, we won't be returning. The pizza toppings are no better than their competition, the dough seemed to be average (as much as we could tell through the char), and the whole experience was blegh. read more

The staff was inviting and the prices were so good I nearly thought they forgot to charge us for something. My family and I have eaten here four times now. The first two times were great experiences. The pizza was delicious!! The third time, I ordered through yelp. I got there and went in to get my pizza. After they handed me my boxed pizza, my two children and I decided to eat there. We sat at a table and opened up the box and they gave me the wrong pizza. They said sorry and that they could make me a new one. Ummmm thanks? We decided to grab a couple drinks While we waited. I guess I expected them to maybe comp the drinks for the inconvenience but nothing. The last time I ate there was today. I called in the order and picked it up ten min later. I love how quick they are once you put your order in. I picked it up and took it to my daughters school so we could eat lunch together. The entire bottom of the pizza was BLACK. It was like char. We just ordered pizza and a pop. They offer a 10% military discount and they said hello when we walked in and thank you and goodbye as we left. Very cool. Pizza crust was thicker than Pieology and fresh made which I liked better, but unlike Pieology they do not offer whole wheat. Fast service plus looked like a family owned business which we love to support. There are a lot of new fun businesses to peruse back in this newly developed area. This is our family's favorite do it yourself pizza place. I just don't like the crust at blaze pizza and the pizza always looks flat there to me. Personal preference I suppose. The crust here is so good. Thin and crisp. At Blaze while it is very thin and crisp it also gets super soggy quickly and sometimes taste burnt. Never tastes burnt here and the crispiness lasts a long time. They are also very generous with toppings and my pizza always looks so full of life! Love this place! read more
