My fiancee and I have been going to Tina for over 7 years! She does an awesome job with boys guys and gals. She also keeps a casual atmosphere, and like the other reviewers say, she is "no bs". She takes pride in her work and isn't afraid to suggest doing something new or different if she thinks it will look better. I trust her with my hair 100%, and I like that she takes her time and does it right. One thing that Tina is really good at is cutting the hair in a way such that as it gets longer, it still looks really good. So if sometimes I'll procrastinate on coming back in, it still looks great. Tina Lim is so good that I used to drive from Echo Park to Santa Monica to get my hair cut. Should the review even go on? Doesn't that say it all? I met Tina through my sister who was a receptionist at a high end salon that they both worked at in Santa Monica. I immediately liked her "no bullshit" personality. Shortly after meeting, she stared at my jewfro with dead eyes and asked, "who cuts your hair? It looks terrible". She was right. I regularly had gone to terrible chains to get a cheap haircut. Once she cut my hair, I was hooked. I haven't seen anyone else since that day four years ago! She is so talented- truly, the girl knows what she is doing. And not just the cut! One time I had to bleach my hair and she made it look amazing! If you let her cut your hair, you will immediately get positive feedback. No one ever said they liked my haircut before, but after I started going to Tina's- people would come up to me and ask "who cuts your hair?" like some freaking commercial! But more than the haircut- she is just a fun, hilarious person to hang out with. We always have a good laugh and an interesting conversation. And she will usually have a diet dr pepper waiting for me. Sometimes I'll even her bug her for food (yes- I'm the worst). And she will hook me up with stale Apple Jacks! In 2010, I randomly walking into a salon about an hour before closing hoping to get a haircut from whoever could take me. I was told Tina was finishing up a cut and would stay past closing to cut my hair. It's now 2015 and I haven't been to anyone else. I never thought I'd find THE ONE for me - Tina is the one. She knows what she's doing more than anybody else that I met in town. My hair is a bit tricky for an Asian girl, wavy and volumy and all, but Tina handled it perfect the first time I saw her years ago. Ever since then I've been going to her place, and only her place! She has honest & sincere opinions about which style works for her clients too. I love it. Who wants to have an ugly looking? No one. Tina saved me so many times from almost going for "I want to try this style!" which would not work for my hair / suit me.
