OMGoodness!! I couldn't wait to write a review for this hidden gem! I was jonesing for Mexican bf this morning, so I was looking for it on Yelp and all I saw was my fellow Californian's review of how good this place was, so I was sold on that. This establishment is located on the same strip mall as Poor Richard and Aldi. When we got out of our car, it smelt so delicious from their restaurant, we knew we hit the jackpot!! Inside the restaurant is very cozy and clean. The menu is so extensive, we didn't know what to order. They also have a frutería!! We decided on enchilada, pozole verde and Chilaquiles verde. I will post all the menu later. I really should had 1 dish. I just wanted to try pozole(broth), but it had so much shredded chicken in there for those of you who love chicken, it's a must try! I was so stuffed!! The food was so stupid good like we went to someone's house and their mama cooked the meals. That good!! I took the rest of the chicken home. My partner ordered strawberry and pineapple fresh smoothie(I didn't have any room in my stomach)and it was so fresh and delicious!! I've never tasted smoothie that was that fresh and delicious!!! I used to love this place and I do still love it for their fruit which is always fresh. However, the last 3 times I've been ther, they've been "out" of chips & salsa. And a friend told me she's experienced the same thing at least a few times that she's been lately. That has been a big reason for us choosing to dine in versus just getting our fruit to go. And we've always bought more food to dine in. Today I even asked if they had chips & salsa for dine in and was told yes, ordered the food, and only when they brought it to the table did they say they didn't have any. Really? Because I literally just asked you before I ordered my food. Which, by the way, they charged me almost double for compared to what's on the board. I get that stuff has gone up, but you have to change the prices on your board, accordingly. I did ask about what the deal was with the chips & salsa and he just said they were out. I went there right at 12:00 I don't know what time you'd have to go for them to not be "out". If you can't serve them anymore due to the cost then ok- just say that. I can respect that. By the looks of it, the place I went to is a second location with all the same stuff, but located at 2425 West Walnut Street, Garland, TX, United States, Texas. Happened to run into the spot at breakfast time, and these chorizo tacos and potato tacos hit it! there's gunna be a little oil so don't be surprised. I ordered menudo and was happy with the portion size but disappointed because the cuts of tripe were way too big! Tripe should be in smaller squares for easy eating. Also no hominy!?? This is the very definition of an awesome dive. Wander in, wonder how to order, notice all of the families, blue collar workers and happy customers chowing down and you'll quickly decide you can figure it out. There's a huge grill section at the front where you can order a variety of meats (including whole roast chicken) to go, or you can walk back to another counter to order a meal. Menus are mostly in Spanish, but no worries it's pretty standard Mex-Mex fare here. A not over-full basket of thick cut chips and very spicy salsa land on the table while you wait. Make sure you bought a Topo Chico to cool things off because your mouth will be seriously burning. My enchilada lunch special was super-yummy. Runny pinto beans, rice and two perfectly small sized enchiladas with just the right amount of cheese made for a tasty and filling meal. I will totally be back. Recommended by a friend to stop by here for awesome cheap tacos . Place was plastered with attractive food pics on their windows and caught our eyes. The menu was pretty simple enough to order with some combinations. We got the A bunch of al pastor and barbacoa tacos along with chicken quesadillas and elotes to go. We asked for extra spicy sauces as always. Once home we just couldn't wait to chow down . But it appears there was a letdown for us . The meats was pretty bland and no flavor at all. The sauces couldn't even ignite a fire. Their sauces was a disappointment to me which was flavorless. If they improve on their sauces I might come back but the meats need to be at a better quality standard and more flavorful. The elotes was over packed with mayo which was a disaster. We stumbled upon Tortilleria La Sobrosa when a different restaurant didn't open on time a couple of blocks over. Heading back the way we came, we jumped at the word tortilleria and pulled in. I know that Plano is expanding and offering a lot of variety these days, but I can't shake the feeling that this feels very un-Plano like, lol. I think that makes it extra interesting to me. They sell packaged snacks but also have a carnitas and chicharron window (where it also looks like they sell whole chickens off a spit), a fruteria and the taqueria in the back corner. That's a lot happening in one building! We stopped by on a Sunday morning, around 10am when they were empty. Three other parties came in while we were there though. At that time the other sections weren't open. The store was clean, but a little chaotic. A tv was playing, music was playing on a speaker and different music was playing in the employee area. Sensory overload. The woman who helped us was very friendly and professional. Big bonus, they brought out complimentary chips and salsa!! They were awesome and the salsa had some nice heat to it. The chips are clearly made in house from frying up their tortillas nice and crunchy- my favorite! The horchata was pretty good and the tacos were loaded. My husband got a torta with fries and I got a couple of tacos with a side of rice. The total was about $17. The meats were all decent. If I was ranking them by flavor, it would be the fajitas, barbacoa and carnitas. That's actually how I would rank the cook and texture as well. While the fajitas were a tad chewy and the barbacoa a little too wet, they had good seasoning. I found the carnitas more bland with so much fat it gave it a blubbery texture. May have been an off day on the carnitas. Overall, we had a satisfactory meal, but I would continue to try new things the next time we stop by. My husband liked his torta, which was very filling, and his fries were hot and crispy. I thought their rice was okay, but I don't prefer a lot of tomato mixed in and that's how they serve it here. I think I enjoyed the chips, salsa and the horchata the most. Have I been to better taquerias? Yes, of course. That being said, I am dying to try other meats and want to come back at a later time to get the full experience of what this building offers. I think this is a very cool spot in the midst of Plano and find the concept appealing and unique to the area. Next time we're in the area for another event, I look forward to returning. read more

Oh brother. Out of the numerous taquerias Ive tried, this one sits at the bottom of the barrel. The atmosphere and design makes it feel like a 90s fast food establishment mixed with a super Mercado. Plenty of kids running around screaming at the top of their lungs as well. I don't blame the owner for this, but it definitely doesn't make the experience better. it's sad when their chips and salsa we're better than the tacos themselves. The salsa is actually served warm, which took me by surprise, yet enhanced the veggies and spices in it. The chips are quite tasty, with a big crunch, greasy profile, and salty finish. I finished my entire basket, which I normally don't ever do. The lengua was soft, but that's about it. I could see some of the fat congealed at the bottom as I ate my way through it. It might as well have been a chunky paste since there was no solid structure to it. The barbacoa was a sad excuse to have on the menu. No beefy flavor, with the texture of clumped grass. Some pieces were subpar moist, while others were straight up dry. The Carnitas might as well have been mystery meat, due to the lack of flavor and texture. If I wasn't told they were Carnitas, I would have had no clue what they were. Otherwise, a very lackluster experience. The Pastor may have been the only thing that brought me amusement. And actually had some resemblance of pork and sweet marinade. It was also the only one that had any type of texture, even if it was weak. This place is called a tortilleria, yet they taste as if they came straight from the mission factory. They do nothing special with them. No frying, no buttering, no grilling, no fun. Some tacos had 3 tortillas, which I found highly unnecessary. The taste of white corn was noticed only once I took my last bite. I might as well have been eating them with paper plates. I like that they offer a generous amount of grilled onions. I don't like the fact though that a third of these onions are either the most outer layer rind, or caked with the skin. Once you exclude the trash portion, the onions were pretty good. After everything I said, you may be surprised I didn't give this place one star. I'd like to think they were a few redeeming qualities, even if they're far and few between. I wouldn't completely dismiss this place, but considering the plethora of options in the neighborhood, my question would be why bother? read more

I'm always trying to look for those hidden gems, and this restaurant was actually on door dash. I ordered the fajita beef nachos and the fajita beef tacos, and they were both really good. They have different kinds of salsa, and they were definitely the way I like it...spicy!!! The fajita beef was flavored really well, and the portions are big. You can definitely split with someone else. The chips were thicker and fresh. The prices are really decent, so now I want to make the trip to this restaurant to see what else they have to offer. I ordered food through uber so not sure what the establishment looks like from the inside or service but my first time ordering here they forgot an item. Called to let them know but they blamed it on the courier. Thought it wasn't 100% their fault, as a restaurant you should always make sure the courier leaves with the correct items. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I've dealt with a lot of food delivery services and know to always make sure the order is correct and not missing any items before it is handed out and leaves the restaurant. First, the tripas weren't crispy whatsoever, tastes very soft. Then the pastor didn't even taste like pastor. They were ok but didn't taste like pastor. This is a great place for tacos in East Plano. What's cool about this place is that there are 3 counters to order from: one to order family packs (chicken and pork), one to order desserts (smoothies, fresh fruit, paletas), and the other to order from the main menu. We ordered taco plates from the main counter, which included fajita (carne asada), pastor, and lengua. We also added a chicken quesadilla. Prior to receiving our meals, we were served freshly made tortilla chips and warm red salsa, which were excellent. We loved the tacos and the quesadilla.. definitely worth coming back for! Along with the meals were served rice and beans, which we enjoyed as well. The restaurant is simple, casual and no frills, with plenty of tables to dine in. The staff weren't the friendliest but not terrible either; hopefully it's just a one-off. I'd love to come back to have more food, as well as desserts and the family packs. I had to put at least one star. I went to this location for agua de horchata and melon. I get down the street and have a sip of mine only to find out that is it spoiled!!! Taste so bad. What a fun find!! Happened to stop in for breakfast and sooooo glad we did. We ordered 3 pastor tacos and 2 beef fajita tacos, and grabbed a pineapple soda. When we sat down, they brought us fresh chips and fresh salsa, both were really, really good! Then came the tacos and two more sauces. The beef fajita tacos were good, but the pastor tacos were great! There was a green sauce that was milder and fresh tasting, and a red, spicier sauce - both were really good. I have seen La Sabrosa in Uber eats, and usually Tacos from tortilleria are the best, because yes, tortillas are fresh made. I tried the breakfast tacos in flour tortilla, and fajita tacos on corn tortilla. Both were delicious, breakfast tacos are mexican style, so do not expect cheese, sour cream or avocado on them. Fajitas tacos is more like steak tacos, very similar to Tacos de Bisteck found in north mexico. I have also tried their Barbacoa tacos on flour tortilla, delicious as well. Corn tacos are in the small corn tortilla taco usually used by taqueros in Mexico, flour tortillas either for meats or breakfast are full size tortillas. They have a lot of meat in them. Flour tacos come with double tortilla so you can make two tacos out of 1. These are the best mexican tacos you can get in uber eats, in the Plano area. Tip: you can reheat the corn tacos just by placing them on a hot pan, they will taste crispy and delicious read more

Food is very good. We've tried a few of their dishes and have not had one that disappointed. We've had their tacos, chorizo and egg breakfast tacos, menudo, gordita's and aguas frescas. They also make and sell fresh tortillas both flour and corn. They also sell fresh large avocado's and salsa's and have a variety of bottled Mexican soda's. Only downside is there is generally a 10-15 minute wait for call in/take orders which is my preference. Other than that the food and service are great. I recommend them. read more
