    Chimichanga Dinner "Tia Rita's Original!

I think I may have found my go to local mexican restaurant! Service was phenomenal and quick, staff was nice and attentive. Ambiance was welcoming and inviting. Food was phenomenal will definitely be back!

After not coming to this restaurant for quite a few years due to terrible service and food quality I decided to give them another try. I ordered the spicy shredded beef burrito lunch special, I believe it was around $12.95, and it was fairly good. The service was really good and the server was very friendly. Not a place that I will probably visit very often but I will definitely try them again.

The food here was fantastic. Great deals happy hour on the weekends. It was extremely busy probably because of Mother's Day weekend. We waited for about 10 minutes in the bar area before our table was cleaned and a server came by but needless to say amazing deals amazing food highly recommend this is a huge establishment and I would rather wait at a table then wait out in a parking lot.

We had a lovely time on the outside patio which overlooks a lake. I ordered the Luna burrito bowl (no meat or cheese) with black and pinto beans. It was delicious! It was cinco de mayo and the staff did a great job with service especially considering how busy they were.

Let me start off by saying the food was fresh and delicious. I got the guacamole boat appetizer, chimichanga dinner, and fried ice cream and all were great! The ambiance was a little weird but cool at the same time. There were some dark areas like the waiting area and walking towards the tables. The tables were little huts, but some of the booths were tight and seats were low. The service was fine, not bad but not the greatest. Overall it was good and would recommend!

The burrito was a little soggy. The shredded beef was moist. The lettuce was a little cooked due to the heat of the food. The rice was a little dry. The black beans were alright. They put a little shredded cheese on top that was all melty. You don't get chips with your order. The staff was not very friendly. Did a take out order over the phone. The restaurant is located in a shopping plaza. There is a little man made lake out back. Watch out for mosquitoes. There was a long line of people waiting to get seated. The décor is a little kitschy and old fashioned. Some people like that kind of decor.

    Margarita and tacos

Monday lunch with the girls for Margaritas and tacos because let's be real, those are the only things that matter. Service was ridiculously fast and polite, I mean, they must've known we were starving. Had great service, obviously. We split 2 of the mini taco plates with a mix of Beef and Chicken because sharing is caring, and also because we're not savages. I liked the chicken better, no surprise there, I'm a chicken connoisseur after all. We sat out on the patio in the sun, it was absolutely gorgeous this Fall day. Inside is a little too dark for me but the bar hermit enjoy the glow of the tv.

Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. I doubt we will be back. We were seated right away. Our server came over in a timely manner. We ordered our usual drinks of waters, beer & sangria. When our drinks came I asked for chips & salsa. She said they should be coming. It's weird to have alcohol drinks before chips & salsa. They did finally come. We didn't have plates for the chips, silverware or napkins. The sangria is really small. About half the size of a normal sangria anywhere else. It was okay. Hubby's beer was good & cold. The waters were warm so most of the ice was melted. We didn't have plates for the chips or napkins. Hubby ordered Baja fish tacos with rice & black beans. I ordered chicken fajitas without peppers & no lettuce. When our food was delivered I asked the person who brought it for silverware. He brought it & chip plates. The tacos were not what hubby expected. They were a piece of fried fish. He said they were good with the sauce, my sour cream & my guacamole on them. He loved the rice & black beans. My chicken did not have any char on it. The rice & beans were good. The women's restroom needed a good cleaning as the walls & floor were dirty. There was a sign on one of the stalls stating out of order. For the amount of money we paid & small drinks & the food just being okay, we won't be back anytime soon.

This place it's terrible on service it's took like 15m to 20m order a drink and the service never put the order she didn't know what she was doing and keep excusing her self saying she was new but it was her excuse to not doing her job but she had time to talk and spending time with the coworkers. The view it's nice but the service it's terrible.

We had so much fun here. Met for lunch in between a couple of playoff basketball games. I had a white death marg and the sangria marg, both fantastic. We had the trio dip and I had the taco salad with pollo. Everything was great! Our server Bella in the bar was exceptional! Fried ice cream was fire!

We decided to stop by Valle Luna in Chandler with our daughter on Margarita Monday for their $1.99 margaritas! The bar area was pretty busy, but we were able to get a table inside the restaurant. The margaritas, chips, and salsa were all delicious, and we ended up ordering the tamale dinner, which was just as good as I remembered. We used to always take our kids to their Ahwatukee location before it closed. My only complaint is that they serve the margaritas in plastic cups, so the salt doesn't really stick to the rim like it would on a glass. I can definitely understand why they use the plastic cups as I'm sure they go through a ton of glasses but in my opinion it's just nicer to have the salt actually stay on the rim of a glass. Overall, we still enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back!

8/9/25: It wasn't bad; pretty large place, with a lot of bright colors throughout -- and some pretty funny signage. Unfortunately I don't remember what we ordered, but we both enjoyed the food. The only negative I can remember is that our server sometimes seemed more interested in the two gals at another table. Not sure if he was trying to hit on them, or they were hitting on him. Ha! Regardless, the service was decent and he was very friendly, talkative. I can't say there was anything fantastic about our experience that would make us drive from Laveen to Chandler just to eat there again, but maybe if we catch ourselves in the area again we would give it another go.

Everyone raves about this place whether it's the one on Bell or this one in Chandler, but I've been unimpressed with both locations. The food just doesn't taste fresh or very authentic. The service was very friendly, but slow. Waited over 10 minutes for the box we requested, and to take our payment to pay our tab. The decor and atmosphere seem cluttered and dated. Overall, I would pass on this location and likely past its prime since it's an older location in the valley.

Senior menu offered on Tuesdays. Great Prices, Great Food.

    Is this place dog friendly?

Since they have an outdoor patio, they may be, but I'm not 100%.

Can the patio be reserved for a coed baby shower?

I haven't tried to do it, but I have been there when it was being done for an anniversary. So I'll say yes. Good luck.

Do they cook beans in lard? Does rice have chicken stock in it?

They cook their refried beans in lard and the rice does have chicken stock. Their flour tortillas are also fried in lard.

If all avocado toasts were like this, I don't know why anyone would choose something else! The sourdough bread was lightly toasted but not so stiff that it scraped up my mouth. Food: I got the banana foster French toast - this was really good not to sweet, nice crunchy ends with soft middle. Per usual no combo for French toast so a side of bacon was $4 and so are potatoes. They do offer a platter for $7 but it includes eggs which i did not want. We ordered side of chicken it needed seasoning bad. My friend and I both ordered mediums with 75% sweetness, and it was the perfect drink for a hot, humid summer morning. Sweet enough to feel like a treat without being over the top. We also ordered matching bagel sandwiches. I do wish they offered a turkey bacon option, but the sandwiches were still hot, fresh, and delicious. The real star was the mayo aioli. I could probably put that on just about anything. The vibes are wonderful too. It's cozy, welcoming, and the kind of coffee shop where you want to linger with a friend for a while. My only critique is the layout of the front room. There always seems to be a line, but there's not really a good place for it to go besides in front of the entrance and the water station. It turns into a lot of "excuse me" and people weaving around each other. It's definitely a good problem to have because they're clearly popular, but I hope as they continue to flourish, they're able to expand into a larger space or rethink the flow a bit. Either way, I'll absolutely be back. Just save me another coconut brown sugar latte.

They have a larger patio space outdoors, which I asked and discovered they are dog friendly so happy to find another venue we can bring the girls to. The patio was still shaded when we left about noon so it's a good spot for pups. Two of our group was already seated when we arrived so we joined them upon arrival. Lisa, our server, immediately came over for drink orders and confirm we were still waiting for others to join. Lisa, was so patient and friendly while the group gathered and decided what to order. I asked for a glass of O.J. which was sans pulp for those who don't like it in their O.J. I prefer some to jazz it up but it was a good glass of juice. They have a good sized menu with both breakfast and lunch offerings, and it took a bit to decide on what we were eating. I decided on the Corned Beef Hash with two eggs over-medium and a pancake. I asked for it on a separate plate and she said no worries, that's how it is served. The hash was sooo good! Cooked to a crispy crust and so flavorful and not salty at all, which I loved because sometimes hash can be salty. It also came with hash browns, which were cooked perfectly and not greasy in the least. I asked for my eggs over-medium and they too were cooked to perfection. It came with one pancake (I chose this in place of toast) and it was good size cake, with a nice malty flavor. It's sprinkled lightly with powder sugar and a dispense of warm syrup was provided as well. Really good breakfast! Wife went with the 2 egg breakfast with bacon and sourdough toast. They serve a wonderful homemade blackberry jam with the toast, which was really good and jammy. She also had her eggs done the same way as me and they were cooked to perfection. The bacon was perfect and she commented about the hash browns being cooked to a crunchy outer and tender on the inside. Always hoping a local recommendation turns out great. *Service: the service was fair. Our waitress spent most of the time sitting in the booth across from us on her phone and checked in occasionally. A few times we had to ask for things we needed. Nothing rude, just not especially attentive or engaged. Definitely didn't feel like her #1 priority. *Food: I ordered the tuna *melt*. It was alright, but nothing to write home about. The tuna itself was relatively cold (should have been warm on a melt) and lacked flavor, the cheese wasn't melted (it's a "melt", right?), and the bread was good. I dipped and drenched in salt, pepper, ranch and hot sauce to give it some flavor. The fries were good, hot and tasty. Overall, it felt like a mid-level café sandwich made by a basic "cook", not a well curated restaurant sandwich. My lunch buddy ordered a smothered omelette that looked great, and he said it was very good, so that was good. *Ambiance: the atmosphere was decent. Very basic, a bit cold feeling, café-like, casual, and reasonably comfortable. Nothing stood out strongly other than it seemed pretty clean and bright. *Value: my tuna melt and fries, with no drink, was $16. Not great, not terrible. It felt like an $8-$10 sandwich max for what I got, not a standout value. I posted a picture of their specials board so you can get a feel for the value. *Overall: everything here was fair, food, service, and ambiance while value was not great. Nothing bad, nothing memorable. A three-star experience for me. I wouldn't rush back, but wouldn't avoid it if I was in the area and others wanted to go. *Update: I have a strong reputation for detailed, honest, and trustworthy reviews.
