My southwest chicken salad was a nice accompaniment. We had the cheese sticks, sliders, and southwest egg rolls in our triple dipper. We didn't love the egg rolls, but we loved sliders. The beef had such a good flavor! Nice char. I would give a five-star rating, but the amount of little fleas flying around annoyed me. I had to keep swatting. But I will swat for a cheese pull this good!

But to me, frankly, I've never considered ordering steak at a Chili's in my life. Because it isn't a steakhouse. I suspect steak is only on the menu because they're catering to folks who - well, I won't get into it. Sure, if it's on a menu, the staff should know how to cook it properly, but I think when you're eating at a chain that's known for bar food, you shouldn't expect good steaks. You're setting yourselves up for failure. But I digress. Anyways, I'm from Houston and about 6 or so months ago, we visited Chili's - ironically - because we realized we'd been making fun of it our whole lives but have never actually tried it. We fell in love. The food is cheap. Sometimes on par with fast food joints in price. The food is good. It's always fresh and is highly customizable. The service is quick. There will be times where your waiter isn't even done placing your order on their tablet when someone's running out your drinks and apps. It's magic. This location holds up the same standard as Houston, and all in the humble city of Butler. The last two times we've visited this location, we've been served by James, who's a recent transplant from Texas Roadhouse and he's always so authentic and a pleasure to dine with. I'll say it loud and I'll say it proud - I have never. And I mean NEVER. Seen my Mom eat like she did at this Chili's. I'm pretty sure she blacked out. She inhaled the Smokehouse Combo she shared with her partner and was reaching across the table to dip into my sauces. This was her first time at Chili's. We had a phenomenal time. The food was hot, delicious, came out quick, and with an attentive server. I can't ask for more. We will be back soon.

Big shout out to the couple, the hostess sat me with at the milkshake section of restaurant, and Lindsey one of the owners, for taking care of us. The food was plated to perfection, tasted amazing and the side salad, beyond anyone wildest dream of wow for a diner. Great portions of food, went with the sandwich special for the day. Lindsey, was engaging, great multi tasker and definitely shake master. She had to have done quite a few shakes as I watched and waited for my food. As my luck would have it, I quickly discovered that this restaurant does not have air conditioning. I'm not sure if it was just offline or if it is permanent; however, be warned!! The restaurant had children and elderly people seated, so I couldn't wimp out and go somewhere else. The Chop SHop is a downtown Butler must-try, and it is three concepts rolled into one. The Chop Shop is a vintage-style eatery serving sandwiches, milkshakes, burgers, vegetarian fare and grilled meats. I ordered their specialty milkshake, which is a loaded milkshake that comes with everything thrown into one Milkshake. Although it was a perfect drink for a heatwave, my milkshake quickly melted due to the heat in the restaurant. For the main course, I ordered the Mixed Grill, which had grilled elk tenderloin, smoked quail, caramelized bacon brussels sprouts, dauphinoise potatoes and a blackberry brandy demi-glaze. The food was awesome, and those potatoes were crazy-good. The Elk was cooked to medium as I ordered, and the quail was tender and juicy. Overall, a good but hot dining experience. The Chop Shop has great food, great service, and one day may serve alcohol in the restaurant, but for now, their food and drinks can be enjoyed without it.

This was great for me even without the burger (which was fine, I omitted the bun) but more than that, coming here enlightened me to how perfect salad bars and buffets are for toddlers - I just got a plate with pinches of several bite-sized options perfect for my daughter to explore. My husband and FIL each got the chicken fried steak with various sides and devoured their plates while I was tending to the little one. Service was friendly, and we were one of several families seated in a particular area with kids. Note that if you need a booster seat, theirs is essentially a couch cushion without a back, which was a first for me. *Joke's on me. While a deal brought us in, the salad bar I ordered was actually the most expensive meal for our group - $13 for that, plus the $1 for the burger, toddler was free, and the CFS plates were $12.
